Super cool owner! Described exactly what was going on and what he was doing and never left me (the customer) guessing as to what was going on with my vehicle. With precaution even let's you on the shop floor to view the progress of the job he's completing. I'm very confident in the owner Nick's capabilities so much so I told many of my friends who need work done to visit his shop to get it done right. I couldn't be happier with the service and experience he provided 10/10. Also keep in mind to those reading this review he's running a one man show for the shop and he managed to weld 5 joints of my exhaust system in under an hour and had me on my way with a smile on my face.

I brought my truck to Nick to fix the horrible and incomplete welds of my so called custom exhaust by Tuffy Auto Center. It had leaks everywhere. Nick took the time to fix every weld, including lowering spare tire to get to exhaust tips welds. He checked every weld and allowed me under truck to verify! This is exactly what I wanted! He did an unbelievable job after Tuffy hacked this job! Thank you Nick for all you did and being so informative! You want a great exhaust, go see Nick! Thanks again, brother! Nick really is the bomb. He is a one man operation who knows what he’s doing. He doesn’t need anyone else. Been here for exhaust swaps, muffler swaps, muffler deletes. Any metal work I need done on my car I schedule an appointment with mad hatter. Quality work at decent prices. Place is appointment only so make sure to call ahead.

My daughter is a college student at USF and was having car trouble. Mad Hatter got her in quickly and fixed her car immediately. It was something so simple, they didn't even charge her. Normally, when she goes to the dealership, they have a laundry list of "issues". I am grateful that they didn't take advantage of her.

*Note - this is not the location on Waters, they are similarly named, but not affiliated. This review is for Mad Hatter Performance off Linebaugh. I went in, got a price for a mid-muffler swap to dynamax mini race bullets. I got there for 10am and was out the door 51 mins later. Through install he took me back and showed me placement prior to welding, and he let me inspect all welds with a mirror after the fact. Great work done efficiently and priced fairly. I would recommend and would go back - plus my Daytona sounds even better after the upgrade.

Ok. Let me just say that Nick is an asset to this location. From phone call for pricing, to walking out the door, I have never been more impressed with a staff and to the the level of professionalism and teamwork between him and his techs (Edwin worked on my car) was amazing. Especially with a rare car (93 Dodge Stealth R/T).They did everything that I asked for in a custom exhaust, and got me exactly at the price I wanted with high quality work/parts. The car sounds amazing. I will continue to travel from Lakeland to West Tampa, just to have Nick and his team work on my car again. Thanks guys!!!

I spoke to the guys over the phone and explained what I wanted, they said they could do it and quoted me an approximate price. It took me a little to get my car running enough to get it to their shop as I had just rebuilt the motor. I called last minute and asked if they could complete it in one day, they said sure, bring it down and we can discuss the install of the exhaust. It's not very often that you find great shops and then great shops with friendly knowledgeable people, and then to add that they knew about old cars and how to properly install the exhaust for ground clearance. I have built many different classic Ford muscle cars and these guys did BY FAR the best exhaust job I've had on any of my cars! This shop is fantastic and would recommend anyone to this shop. Thank you again guys for the last minute work, awesome job, and knowledgeable and friendly service! Great experience today on such short notice!

I heard about this place from word of mouth. I had to get a catalytic converter replaced. I was welcomed by Nick at the front desk. He was very polite, professional and helpful. I was introduced to the mechanic (Edwin) and he told me exactly what my car needed and what he was going to do with it. Nothing more, nothing less. I have to say that Edwin did a fantastic job. These guys were awesome. I highly recommend this place 👍

I'm not the type to write reviews but this place blew my mind with the quality of the work and how long it took. I had a cat-back exhaust installed on my GTI and it took no longer than an hour. the man who installed my exhaust was honest and was a very reliable mechanic who I will definitely be going back to in the future. AMAZING SERVICE, Incredibly fast ( took 30 minutes to fix) and really friendly. AND They literally Saved my life. My exhaust pipe was broken and pointed at my fuel tank and melting through it. Eventually it would have caught on fire. Took my car to a mechanic before who did not ever once mention that INCREDIBLY SERIOUS & DEADLY Issue. Much love to these guys.

A great experience with having an additional exhaust bung installed for a Wideband sensor yesterday. Due to being in the middle of an ECU upgrade project, I had my car towed to and from the shop. Nick was awesome to deal with. Excellent communication, and the up-front estimate over the phone was accurate and fair. The technician was friendly, and did a very nice job. Great Service! Quick assessment and quality repair of both exhaust brackets and welding of cracked pipe. All staff was very welcoming and helpful in explaining work that needed to be completed. Started and completed work in less than 40 min and cost was very reasonable. I was not aware of all automotive services they offered until now. I will definitely return based on experience.

Nick, the owner of the shop was very professional and courteous. I own a 2020 Tacoma TRD and they did a 3” lift kit and did a 4 wheel alignment. The job was done in a very professional manner and the truck looks great! He is very honest and cares about his customers. They made sure the job was done correctly. I been to other repair shops and I would say this is far the best experience I’ve had. I highly recommend this shop for all vehicle repair and any customized needs for your vehicle. They do custom wheels and aftermarket accessories. They also put a custom exhaust system on my 1996 Tacoma. The weld job was very clean. I’m not sponsored by this shop, I just wanted to let people know this is a very honest service shop.

I have had nothing but a great experience with mad hatter. I brought in my 2016 charger about a year ago now and had them remove my mid mufflers and it sounded great and the welds were perfect. Very fast and friendly service. Then I just went in about a week ago and they fixed a mistake that someone made trying to remove my resonators and now it sounds perfect again. Very very fast service and very high quality. Definitely will be sending all my business there way

If you’re looking for a great shop with great core values look no further! Service and pricing here is like no other. I went in early in the morning to drop my car off for an exhaust install and did notify them in advance that I would be able to pick it back up but at around 6:30ish ( an hour and a half after closing).And they were able to work with me! Luis waited for me after closing and went above and beyond to deliver exceptional customer service and my vehicle. I was more than happy with everything and will be returning when needed! Great shop and great employees!

My car (Chevy Malibu) started making a grinding sound and I called Mad Hatter to see if they could take a look at it. I was able to drop it off that night and Nick called me the next day, letting me know I needed brakes, rotors, and wheel bearings. I knew about the wheel bearing because previously 2 mechanics told me to keep an eye on it, and obviously the brakes were grinding so I know for a fact that Mad Hatter only did what I needed. They are very honest and the price for everything they did was less than it cost me to have just my brakes done on the same year, make, and model vehicle that I had 4 years prior at another place. Nick also previously worked on my Nissan Altima and both times he called to keep me updated and did the work in one day. He called just a couple hours after the shop opened the morning after I dropped off my car to give me an estimate. The price was great, so I okay'd it and the next day I picked up my car. I had to use Snap Finance, but as long as I pay it off in 90 days, which I intend to do, there is no interest . When I picked up the car, it sounded great, and they even topped up all 4 tires with air at no charge. I also liked that they didn't leave the car dirty, something that happened to me earlier in the year at Quality Value Automotive. Mad Hatter is honest and fair plus they have the finance option which is great for an emergency. Most importantly, they only do the work you need, they don't try to sell you things you do not need or lie about what is wrong with the car. Prices are the best in Tampa and they do not charge to look at your car or give you an estimate. Thanks, Nick, for the great service and the quick repair!

Took my Vette for a custom exhaust without an appointment and they took me in. I also brought in my own mufflers and tips; no problem there. Nick the manager was very nice and professional. Something that is not seen in other shops. Edwin the senior tech actually did the work himself. The fabrication and welds are outstanding. Quality work. As a bonus, I met and spoke with Sean, the shop owner. Hell of a nice guy. Seems to me that they know how to run a business right: customer service done right. I’ll be going back in the future for work on my other vehicles. Highly recommend this place.

Excellent exhaust work and amazing customer service! They had a full dual exhaust system from the headers all the way back welded on beautifully in under 6 hours! Great group of folks. I brought my new to me Audi in for some minor exhaust work. I'm a skilled fabricator so the work needed I knew was easy though not without a lift. Unlike other shops trying sell a full system, Mad Hatters did just what I was asking and needed to fix the leak! Price was decent for the work but the conversation while I waited was worth a little extra. Will certainly return went more work is needed.

These guys are fantastic! I've used them twice for repairs to my Chevy Impala. I know a fair amount about cars and they were very honest and up front about all issues, never trying to upsell me on things I didn't need. Went here today to have my exhaust checked for a leak. Nick the owner went beyond customer service to meet my expectations .My car was brought in almost immediately . And they found my problem right away! They also have a very friendly customer waiting area. These are a great group of people! Very honest. I won’t be taking my car anywhere else . But here! They worked very fast, high quality work. Very professional and friendly, dropped my car at 8 got a call at 9:10 that it was ready. They even quoted us a price and then called back and said the cost was going to be less because they didnt have to do as much work as they thought. Just bought a 1990 Honda accord with 130k ...vehicle was kept clean, i took it to Honda to get a inspection and come to find out their was a few things needed maintenance wise...and the estimate i received was over the roof. A friend of mines recommended a shop that was trusted reliable, and reputable, so i went and they gave me an estimate that was reasonable, both managers were willing to work with me on the pricing on the estimate and was able to reason with my scheduling since i just moved to the area. I honestly felt they were gonna take good care of my car when i was ready for the repairs. Excellent customer service.

I brought my car in for an oil change and because the "check engine" light was on. They did a FREE diagnostic check and told me exactly what needed to be repaired and how much it would cost. Excellent customer service, friendly employees, trustworthy, great prices, very fair, and short wait time. They are honest, and will NOT try to sell you something you do not need, nor pad the bill. In previous repair shops, I felt taken advantage of, by being a woman, and for my lack of knowledge about car repairs. But at Mad Hatter, they took the time to explain everything to me in detail and did not try to pressure me into anything. As a courtesy, they even got on the cell phone with my husband and explained everything to him as well. Will definately be returning for ALL of my car needs and repairs. My husband brings his car in as well, for oil changes and repairs (muffler, etc) and is equally as happy with service. My dad is a mechanic, but lives out of state, and he was always concerned about me finding a good auto repair shop that I can trust and that would do great work for a fair price. He will be happy and relieved that I found exactly that in Mad Hatter! Will recommend to everyone who needs auto service!

I was at Mad Hatter Auto Services this morning for an oil change and Nick who runs the place was so nice to me. The price for an oil change is very reasonable. I just forgot to ask Nick what oil was used. Since I have a corolla I hope it was synthetic oil. Please advise. Anyways, I also put a great review on their business website as well. I didn't want to go to my dealership for an oil change since they are so expensive, want a reservation, and always want me to fix something on my car whether it may need it or not. Was not hassled at this place what so ever. Great service. Those that live in Tampa go to this place you won't be disappointed. Thanks again Nick and to your employee who worked on my car. Also, for showing me where to put the washer fluid in my car since I wasn't sure.

Great customer service. I came in with brake issues in my work truck and they saw what needed within minutes of checking vehicle and fixed the issue at a reasonable price and at a very efficient rate. I left my truck at 3pm on tuesday and it was ready for me by 10am the next morning. Definitely coming back anytime i need work done on my truck. Ive come here twice and on both occasions have been treated very well. Nick was really helpful in describing what was wrong with the truck before anyone would fix it, showing they keep the customers interest in mind rather than trying to make a profit, which is rare when it comes to auto shops. They never overcharged or tried to sell anything that wasn't needed. Great service, the staff is really friendly and they have really affordable prices. Definitely will be a long time customer.

Taken 3 vehicles to these guys and each time I've gotten great service at a more than reasonable rate. They accurately diagnosed a fuel problem I was having, turned out it was a vacuum line and only cost me $3. Awesome crew in this place. 10/10 would highly recommend.

Outstanding workmanship & above all else, amazing customer service. I had my 2018 G80 Sport worked on here. This is my baby. There are no "plug & play" accessories for this car yet so I had to have custom work done. With that being said, the team brought me back, showed me their equipment, advised me of the work that would be done, & even sent me a video prior to calling me back for pickup. I am already planning additional work after the holidays & highly recommend this place.

I've been going to mad hatter for a couple years now to get my oil changed, tune up's, etc on my car. Their prices are reasonable and they always do a good job. I've never had any issues or problems with them. Every time I come in they greet me with a friendly respectful manner which I like about them but most of all they're honest with their prices and repairs. Their shop is nice and clean and if you have to wait they have TV you can watch. Over all mad hatter is where I'll always go to get my future repairs at.

The first thing I have to say is, these guys are great. I apologize that it has been about 3 months after I had my exhaust done but wanted to make sure these guys get recognized. Everyone seems quick to jump up and criticize service or people and don’t take the time to recognize when deserving. I have a 2018 F-250 with a 6.2 gas engine. I wanted a great sounding true dual exhaust but not to too crazy loud. We went over several options and exhaust exit options. The counter guy called some older (obviously very knowledgeable in the craft) out to look and give an opinion. I was originally looking at something else but decided to go with his suggestions. I have to say I am very pleased I did. The truck sounds fabulous. I have had people pull up next to me and comment on how good it sounds. Now, I don’t know if it was planned or a coincidence, but the attention to detail included making sure that the 2 Thrush mufflers logos were aligned up exactly. Again, attention to detail that I would have done on my own truck. Thanks guys, will come back if I have future biz.

I was driving to work today and my car cut off. I knew it was the alternator. Luckily my friend had AAA and I towed my car to Mad Hatter because of the reviews in Google maps. I'm glad I did. Quality service and reasonable prices. They quoted me a price when I got there and then called me later with the same price they quoted me. Picked up my car the same day. Trust me...this is the place to go for any car issues. I hope this place receives a 5.0 rating after this. They deserve it.

I had an oil leak issue on my old Chevy truck. Brought it to Mad Hatter because their reviews were very good. This shop did not disappoint. Not only did they fix the leak, but they also tuned and timed the engine while they had it. The day they told me to come pick up the vehicle I showed up and started the vehicle and immediately felt something wrong with the way the truck was running. They told me that they had not experienced the same thing when they were test driving it earlier that day. Normally this would warrant some negativity in a review; however, they jumped on it immediately and found that the truck had more timing issues. One of the workers even gave me a ride home once I found out I had to leave the truck. This additional problem they fixed free of charge and apologized for the inconvenience, which to me made up for having to wait an extra day to pick the vehicle up. Since that time I have gone back to Mad Hatter and asked questions about different little problems and they always help me out quickly. They have advised me on stuff I can do myself as well, without charging me for the consultation. I definitely recommend Mad Hatter Auto Service for your auto repair needs.

I've been using Mad Hatters for years now and I have no complaints. I can always stop by on a Saturday morning without an appointment depending on what I need. The convenience of doing that allows me to relax in their air-conditioned lobby and watch TV while they take care of my car. Their prices are awesome and they will always listen to you and work with you to figure out a plan to give you and your car great service at an affordable price. Last Saturday I stopped by for an oil change. It was fast, the attendant was pleasant and efficient and I was very pleased as always. I will never go to another auto repair shop, finally I have found a reputable, reasonable, trustworthy and inexpensive shop! I have always brought my vehicles to the dealers. I am unable to afford dealer prices at this time, so I brought my Cadillac CTS, within an hour, I received a text picture message with the issue and price. Bottom line- phenomenal service!!! All staff were professional and super friendly. I would highly recommend Mad Hatter!!

Took my Audi S6 to get exhaust modified. I was going to do a resonator delete and replace with straight pipe and put in an x-pipe. They spoke to me at length about what i was trying to achieve and advised me to do a different solution with a custom install. The results are fantastic and they didnt charge me any more for the custom work. Staff are professional and give very good advice. Highly rated.

These guys did a great job with my 2000 Eclipse. The staff was polite and friendly. The owner, who seems very busy, took the time to talk to me directly before and after the job was done. They took care of my front and rear breaks and tightened my E-break. They reminded me that my oil change was over due and asked if I wanted it changed as well. The garage was very clean. Their customer service is 5 stars as well. They remember their customers. The owner even took my car out for a test drive when I came back a month later because of some noise coming from the front driver side wheel. It ended up just being a slightly bent heat shield and it was adjusted at no cost. I will always go here for my vehicle maintenance.

Luis and the boys up at mad hatter did a fantastic job on my 2015 Chevy Silverado. I had a 6 1/2 inch lift installed with wheels and tires. These guys were super thorough and contacted every step of the process. When a problem arose they called me and explained how it could be mitigated. They will NOT preform work that they do not feel comfortable doing and they will NOT preform work outside of their normal practice unless contacting the customer first. I was extremely hesitant at first as this was my first lift and I could not be happier on the customer service I was give. Very fair in price. Very up front on all work performed. I got an oil change for just under $20 and just under 20 minutes. This is better than I could do myself for the time and almost the same price if I did it my self. They offered me an at-cost discount on tires that beat the prices I'm paying Discount Tire for the same brand tires. While I was waiting they told a guy the problem with his car was some after market parts he put on and they couldn't easily replace them. Instead they offered to custom fabricate a piece really quickly and make it work, for cheap too. This is definitely a great place to have your car repaired. I'll go back when I'm in Tampa.

After I took my girl out to eat at a steakhouse, my car began smoking out of nowhere. I stopped and was able to pull up at the Advance Auto Parts store where they told me it was a thermostat problem. i left the car there over night so I could go to a mechanic the next day. I tried to closest auto repair shop that charged me $95 just to diagnose, I needed to save as much money as possible because I was from out of town, which is 3 hours away from Tampa. I looked up on Google and saw a lot of good reviews on the Mad Hatter service center so I called and told him what the scenario was, he advised me to stop the car and let it cool down every time it heated up while I was driving there. After finally making it, the front desk person was very polite and the whole place seemed very customer-oriented. They were able to tell me the full problem, the relayer itself was also messed up and that required for me to leave the car overnight because they get those parts directly from Honda. The next day i was dropped off there and the same front desk man was there and reassured me that they would take care of it, they fixed a blasted hose for free, filled a gallon of antifreeze, replaced the relayer and thermostat, and did a full diagnostic all for a relatively low price. Before I left, the mechanic advised me to keep a gallon of antifreeze with me just in case. And so, I prepared for my 3 1/2 hour drive back to home, paranoid of any issues. Fortunately, the car ran perfectly and it seems like it is fully functional again. I HIGHLY recommend this place for any auto maintenance or repair needs. I will definitely visit again.

Have been blown away at the level of professionalism and knowledge of Nick and Luis. We’ve been going through my 98 jeep cherokee trying to find a mystery knock and Nick has been very diligent at working through potential problems by eliminating possible problems to find the culprit. Communication has been excellent and these guys know jeeps! On top of everything else the installed a new fuel pump that turned out to be bad (from the parts supplier) and they installed a new one at no charge for parts and labor. Nick always gives you multiple options to replace or rebuild so you can make an educated decision.

Ask me a year ago and I wouldn’t have given one star. My original exhaust that was done under old ownership was horrible, but I came back based on new reviews. I knew something changed and I was right. These guys are great, know what they are doing and treat you right. These days it's hard to find a shop you can trust. With so many YouTube videos showing you how shops and major chains can scam you. So I was pleasantly surprised by the buzz I heard about Mad Hatter so I had to see them myself. Very friendly. Very knowledgeable. Very open. It was great when I came in for some work (to replace the lower control arms) and they were upfront about what they would need to do, and quoted me a price that was right and explained all the steps needed. They scheduled a time for me to come back and was happy when they called me in earlier then expected. Best thing is they are not like your major chains where they try to up sell you on anything or look for extra costs to tack on. You tell them what the problem is and they make sure that is what you need and then execute that, quickly and correctly. The only downside is the hours. 9-5 M-F and they do try to work with you on scheduling, but to be at a shop I can trust & know the work was performed and done right, I'm willing to take time out from work to see them.

Having learned that Doug and his brother bought the business from Victor in Feb I was uncertain of the quality of care I would receive under the new management. Great shop, when I need SERIOUS engine work done, I head to these guys. Last engine repair, they fixed all mechanical problems and did extra diagnostic tests to ensure no other unseen problems were there besides what I already knew. My air conditioning went out in my car and I initially took it to Ice Cold Air (don't ever go there) to get it diagnosed. They said I needed a new condenser and it would cost $750 to replace. I wanted to get some other quotes and so I took my car to Mad Hatter on Linebaugh to have them take a look at the a/c. The service guy ran a diagnosis which took less than 15 minutes and told me that there was nothing wrong with my condenser and that it was probably just a leak. I am so glad I came to Mad Hatter who were honest and did not try to rip me off by making me replace something I did not need to replace. I would recommend this auto repair place to anyone who needs any work done on their car!!

I used to come here a few years ago when they were located on Hillsborough to get my car repairs done. The owner Nick was very friendly and knowledgeable and always explained to me what was going on with my car and what was being done to it with visuals which I appreciated because I’m clueless about cars. Never had any problems and I felt confident leaving. I just found out they don’t do repairs anymore and only do mufflers. Kinda bummed because a good mechanic is hard to come by, but they did recommend another good one.
