I don’t normally write reviews but I’m so thankful to have needed to stop at Rick’s. Me and the family were just passing through and we had issues with the wheels/vibration. Eddie, Pierce, Mike and the staff were very friendly and understanding. They fit us into the schedule no problems. We were there for a little bit and they were thorough and hardly charged us anything. I wish we had a Rick’s back home, they would be our go to shop!

I have been using Ricks for years and I have never been disappointed. They are so helpful and supportive, and never talk down to you. I am definitely not comfortable in typical “car” situations, but the employees that work at Ricks are amazing. Most recently I worked with Mike about my car and he went the extra mile to help me. I highly recommend Ricks to anybody who wants to rest easy knowing your car will be well taken care of.

Everything was handled with genuine kindness and concern. They communicated with me every step of the process. I took my car, knowing they would have to order the part, not expecting it back for about a week. (With it being the week of Christmas) they gave me a quoted price and a realistic timeline of after the weekend. They called me the next day with my car ready to be picked up and I payed under what I was originally quoted. Everyone was so friendly and helpful here. My car is driving the best it has in weeks.

Rick's Automotive is my forever go-to for vehicle maintenance. The quality of care is so excellent that I'm willing to do a 2-hour round trip drive to bring my car in for analysis and preventative maintenance. As a senior citizen, it's very important to me to have quality attention to my vehicle. I don't do much Springfield area driving these days; however, I enjoy road trips with my camera and my dogs, or to visit my grandchildren. I live in a rural area which requires vehicle use for standard errands and medical care. You cannot find more attentive or qualified mechanics anywhere in Southwest Missouri than you find at Rick's. My mechanic, Micah Blake, knows my name, my needs, and my vehicle. I'll have total trust when I leave my vehicle in his care. I always listen to Micah's recommendations. Rick's fair pricing fits within my social security retirement budget. All of the above reasons are why I choose, and highly recommend, Rick's.

I haven't exactly had any services done before here, but the customer service that scheduled my appointment was very nice. About a week wait to have my car seen. Not sure if they charge a fee to have diagnostics checked or not...Unaware of potential costs...Hope all goes well. Well they did a great job on my car. I have used Rick's Automotive for several years now and they have always taken care of our automobile repairs and maintenance. I trust them. Primarily because of the Service Managers with whom I interface. They are each one very knowledgeable and take the time to listen to our concerns. Terry Farrow seems like an old friend whenever I see him. Mike Evans is always super friendly and always recalls my name. Micah Blake couldn't be a better man to see that our Sprinter RV is properly taken care of in Fleet Maintenance. Keith Daugherty will always say hi whether or not he is taking care of our appointment. Eric Chronister took care of my last appointment, what a caring guy. He hated to call me and say that our vehicle needed to remain overnight because of a delay in getting new brake rotors. Pierce was who checked me out after my last appointment, haven't interfaced with him much before, but he did see my retired military I.D. as I got my billfold out and offered a military discount on my charges. Thank you Pierce. And Rick Hughlett, on the rare occasion that I do see him, has always called me by name. I don't know the mechanics personally, but I know of their work and would recommend them to anyone that needs a good mechanic to work on their vehicle and keep it safe. Yes, I've spent some money over the years with Rick's Automotive, but whenever my wife and I get into the car to get us where we need to go, whether in town or a long trip, I do not worry about our transportation. Why would you go any place else.

Our regular mechanic diagnosed a problem on our Explorer that they did not have the newest equipment to repair so they recommended couple shops, including Rick’s. There is a wow factor on how nice their facilities are but their staff and great service is what shined the most. Keith walked us thru the process and the technicians got us back on the road and running smooth. Did I use them? Yes, I did. They were able to properly diagnose what had been missed earlier by another place and fixed it all for less (about half) what had been quoted to me from a Toyota dealership. Took our 2008 Ford Escape to Rick's for issues with not starting. They got that problem fixed; but I noticed that my "service engine light" was lit up. It wasn't lit up when I dropped it off to them. You can imagine that I was pretty aggravated & mad. I ended up getting to speak with Tim Fess & Travis Comfort about the problem. If I would have been able to talk to them the previous Friday when I picked up my car. I would have been still angry about the whole situation. I had thought about it!! It was not really anybody's fault, just an unfortunate situation that happened while they were replacing something else. "It happens"!! What matters is how the problem is resolved. We had a wonderful conversation about the issue & in the end came up with a fair resolution to the problem. What I thought was going to be a "horror story from hell" became an enjoyable & rewarding experience. They treated us good!! Thank you!!

Around Christmas 2022 when the temp's were around the negative. I was heading home when my tire went flat. I pulled into the Kum n Go next to Rick's Automotive to check my tire out. I was at the air pump about to try and air my tire up. The air nosel was not attached so I had to go inside. The lady at the counter said they had to turn off the air due to freezing temperatures. I didn't know what to do. I was about to get road side assistance when I decided to try Rick's. One guy came in and asked if he could help. I explained the situation to him and he said they were unable to help. They had no way to air it up. Then he remembered they may have an air tank in the other building. He filled it up and came to my rescue. I tried to offer him some money but he wouldn't take it. This gentleman deserves a raise for taking time out of his day to help me get home and out of the freezing temps. Thank you sir!!

I can't say enough praise for the staff and company of Rick's Automotive. My husband waited 3 hours for a tow truck when his car died at a light on a busy intersection in Springfield. Rick's tested the battery, replaced it and even checked the battery in my car so that we were safe. They did this so quickly that we were back on the road in less than an hour. We were very pleased that they worked our car into their busy schedule and we didn't have to leave it over night. Awesome business, awesome staff, awesome service. Thanks Rick's Automotive!!!

I took in my Civic for a no start issue. Everyone I had contact with was super friendly and helpful, and their team worked quickly to get my vehicle back to me! They also made sure to contact me throughout the process to let me know the progress of repair and to verify what I wanted to do before just doing it, and I really appreciated that. No complaints at all here. Everyone my husband and I dealt with was friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to take the vehicle in the following morning after calling to schedule an appointment. Within a couple of hours, the results were in and the vehicle was running well, although a replacement part would be needed soon. They told us to order the part from the dealership where we purchased the car, because it was still under warranty....you know, they didn't have to point that out. Honest folks here. We will stick with them.

I highly recommend Rick’s Automotive in Springfield, Mo. 10 out of 10. I’ll go there again. If you find yourself in need of auto repair, your best choice in my opinion, in the Springfield, Mo. area is Rick’s. Tell your tow truck driver to take your vehicle there. We had an issue with our brand new Sprinter van (it was less than a week old). The dealer is over 2 hours away, and wanted us to bring it back, which would have taken hours in driving there, waiting for the repair, the return trip, etc. The folks at Rick's offered to take a look at it, and were able to fix it THE SAME DAY! My college student broke down in Springfield. Not being from the area and being six hours away at the time, I quickly researched auto repair shops. Glad I came across Rick's Automotive. The staff (especially Michael) was wonderful and the car was fixed within two days. When my son heard the car making a strange noise, Michael took the time and rode with my son, determined what was making the noise and had it fixed within 15 minutes. Hopefully we will not need any more auto repairs but if we do - this is the first place I am calling.

I highly recommend coming here! My car has been misdiagnosed several times. I have spent several thousands trying to get the correct fix! Everyone kept replacing my ty-rods but after taking it to Rick's, turns out my rack and pinion needed total replacement. NOT TY-RODS! They also replaced my front breaks, rotors and struts! Trust the reviews on here if you want honest work done on your vehicle. I personally know a couple of the lead mechanics there, have taken several vehicles to them over the last 20 years or something, and I know they only employee great knowledgeable people and they are continually retrained for the new cars out there. They won't push you into something you don't need and they'll do as good a job as you'll find. I trust them and I'll keep going back.

I have been struggling with the Fiat dealership and every time I go there the work isn't completed or it isn't correct and I have to return and return. We are cruising around the country as vanlifers. We had a check engine light come on and found out Rick’s specialized in servicing Sprinter vans and were depended upon to fix all the local ambulances as well. We called and they told us to bring ours in. They checked it out right away and within 2.5 hours they diagnosed and fixed the problems. I will never go to any other automotive shop. My family has been using Rick's Automotive for years and I've taken my car there since I moved back to Springfield about 4 years ago. Their prices are reasonable, they don't try to sell you things you don't need. The staff is always kind. The lobby is always clean and comfortable, so if you decide to wait for your cat, you don't have to worry about being uncomfortable. They also have a shuttle service, where the cars are clean and the drivers are courteous and professional.

I worked with Eric to get an estimate on my kids’ vehicle. My kid hit a concrete median in the last ice storm. I thought it probably needed some minor front end work. Eric and his crew thoroughly inspected the vehicle and determined that there was considerable damage to the front end, including needed frame repairs. He explained in detail all the damage that had occurred and even sent me pictures of the damage. He suggested that I contact my insurance company and file a claim, as he thought that it may be too expensive to repair. I contacted my insurance company and they determined that it would be more costly to repair it than it was worth. Eric was very honest with me about everything. He spent considerable time talking with me and my insurance company. He didn’t have to do that given that he made no money off repairs to the vehicle.

Ricks is my new auto shop, They did an amazing job! Mike, the service manager responsible for over seeing my vehicle repairs, was knowledgeable and explained everything in its entirety. He explained why he thought we needed to do something, and any options we may have. I have an old truck and it needed some things done. I felt like my old vehicle was taken seriously and handled professionally. Ricks, and Mike came in right under my quote, and even manage to fix a couple little things that made my day better, just because it was easy, and right there. I was at my wits end with mechanics when I decided to give Ricks Automotive a try..... and I am so glad I did. I received so many different opinions from several other mechanic shops I won't name that I had absolutely no idea what was going on with my truck and was afraid the transmission or head gasket was going to blow at any second. I don't know a lot about vehicles so usually I end up getting taken advantage of by mechanic shops. When I called to make an appointment, I called within 5 minutes of closing time and the receptionist was nothing but friendly and polite and got me in the very next day. They came and got my truck from work for free and called me with the results. Micah was extremely informative, super professional but talked to me in a way I understood and not once did I feel like I was being taken advantage of or being pushed towards things I didn't need, etc. He laid out everything that they found, what they thought could be the problem and gave me different options to solve the problems. They even gave me advice if I wanted to take care of the problems at home. Micah was absolutely wonderful. Extremely reasonable price for all the tests they did. They dropped my truck back off at work for free as well. Overall a smooth deal and I will definitely be calling Rick's Automotive for all my vehicular needs!

This auto shop helped us so much. I had an animal get into my engine and of course die, this is one of the only shops that was willing to help me find it and remove it without costing me an arm and a leg. Quick service, we dropped it off pretty close to closing time and they had it finished the next day mid morning. They even sprayed disinfectant inside the blowers after cleaning all the mess out. Will definitely go back for other vehicle related needs in the future. Thanks so much.

I had an incident with my car where I had to swerve to avoid another driver who ran a red light and almost hit me, causing me to run up on the curb and do some damage to the driver's side suspension on my car. The impact was also hard enough to crack the windshield. Since I work as a delivery driver using my own vehicle, this was a potential disaster, although fortunately my girlfriend was willing to let me use her car while mine was in the shop. Unfortunately, though, that car did not have working ac, and with the recent weather, doing deliveries was extremely unpleasant. I took my car to another local provider I had worked with before, who held onto my vehicle for over a month, attempting to add unnecessary parts and repairs to the bill which would have pushed it over $4,000, risking the insurance company declaring my car a total. They dragged their feet at every step, including in filing estimates with my insurance, apparently trying to avoid an insurance assessor looking at the car, and gave me every excuse (and occasional outright untruth) in the book. Essentially, it seems they tried to commit insurance fraud, and make me an accessory to it. After it became clear that my efforts with them were going nowhere, I took the car to Rick's. My experience there was like night and day. Eric, who supervised my repair, was especially excellent, explaining in detail everything that needed to be done, without either talking down to me or using so much jargon that I couldn't follow his explanations. He worked on my behalf to find the best parts at the lowest cost, and adhered to his promised time frames, despite parts delays, and even when some of his colleagues were unable to work due to issues with covid-19 vaccination reactions. He worked hand in hand with my insurance assessor, and was transparent with both sides, also acting as an advocate for me to make sure the insurance covered everything that needed to be done, without additional cost to me. At the end of the day, the final total was less than half of what it would have been at the other service provider, and my car now drives better than it did before the accident. Eric's professional pride and personal kindness were obvious, as he went above and beyond to make up for the bad experience I had elsewhere. As I say, Eric was great, but everyone at Rick's was friendly, courteous, professional, and supportive. I cannot recommend Rick's highly enough. Not only will I send all my business their way, and suggest my friends and family do the same, but I strongly recommend that anyone reading this review use this outstanding business for their automotive needs. My experience was the best I have had with an auto shop; so good that I (almost) want to have more car issues, just so I can work with them again! John Twomey

Rick's Automotive is amazing! The staff is really friendly, and the mechanics knew exactly what to do! They instantly answered all my questions, and immediately addressed any problems we had. If you are in need of car repairs, I highly recommend Rick's Automotive. Their friendly staff surpassed my expectations and it was exceedingly better than anywhere else I have taken a car. They also picked me up to pick up the car and they offer a FREE rental for any work that will take an extended amount of time. How awesome is that??? They said it is because they appreciate my business. I feel like I can truly trust them with my car and I doubt I'll ever go anywhere else. They are amazing!!! They store is so clean and Michael was very friendly and helpful when explaining what they had done to my car upon picking it up. The repairs cost less than what we expected, and although some people say they are a little higher priced, you get what you pay for. They picked him up, assessed the issue, dealt with my insurance people, and got him on the road in short order. Costs were reasonable, but the service was phenomenal. I thought I'd try Rick's. What a surprise whenI saved over $350 from two estimates given by other repair shops. So, I went back for another repair suggested by another repair shop (one they could not / would not do) only to find out from Rick's that I really didn't need it after all. Another savings of about $200. Refreshing honesty from a repair shop. AWESOME! Needless to say, I've scheduled work on another vehicle next week. I'm only sorry I didn't try Rick's earlier. I’ve been going to Rick’s Automotive for a good 10 years now and with at least 5 different cars, between me and my wife (2 Toyota Corollas, a Lexus sc400, a BMW 325xi and a VW Passat, which I only list for the sake of context). They’ve always been honest with me and have happily explained issues my car is facing. The best part is, on several occasions, they have suggested not getting things fixed when they weren’t a big deal (and they never have turned out to be) and have been more than happy to refer me to another shop if they knew I could get it fixed for cheaper somewhere else. Oh, and when they do fix it themselves (which is the majority of cases) they do a fantastic job! They take me back home and pick me up if I request it, they keep me updated (and sometimes send pictures via text if words aren’t enough). And in the ten years I’ve been going there, I’ve never had a repair go wrong. This, plus several other small things here and there, are the proof that Rick’s tries it’s utmost to put the customer first. It’s not just talk, it’s the real deal. Big shout out to Keith and Mike, both of whom have helped me out on more than one occasion and have been more than happy to help me out with the odd issues my cars tend to have. Note: This is not an individual appointment, rather, I drop my car off in the morning and when they are able to find free time, they can tend to my car. They provide service to transport me to and from Rick's while my car is in repair. Ricks always call me before performing additional repairs. They explain the additional concerns thoroughly, including price, and allow me to determine if I'd like them to fix that too. If its a quick fix, they're able to squeeze it in the same day. We've had some of the worst luck with our Toyota Sienna minivan. What started off as a routine oil changed snowballed into needing to get the tires replaced, brakes replaced and ultimately trying to get the automatic sliding doors fixed. Well, I brought my car for the following services: oil change, replace the car battery, and tire rotation. Well, after that I noticed there was an oil leak. So, I brought the car over. They looked at it and I was told they replaced something....as I recall, an oil filter?! That’s great...knowing the issue have been resolved, until I noticed yet again. So, brought the car the second time with the same issue. I mentioned maybe the cap was loose or had a crack on it, that could cause the oil leak. They looked and worked on it and replaced something, again. Well, let’s hope that this time around that the issue have been resolved. Because if that is the case, I don’t want to go back there the third time with the same issue. All in all, they were accommodated and worked on the car in a timely manner. Thank you.

So I got a surprise last weekend in the form of a cop pulling me over to inform me that my tags had been expired…for 10 months. As always, Rick's took care of my car needs. Yes, they are a little higher than some of the hole in the wall shops but I know my car will be properly fixed at Rick's. Terry always goes above and beyond when we bring him something weird happening with our car (this time it was a freaky horn issue). Their customer service was great, wonderful waiting area with free coffee and vending machines. Lots of places to wait and if you don't want to wait, they give you a courtesy ride. I will be bringing my car back next time something happens to it!

These people did repairs on my vehicle that were not authorized. As a result of this incident, I took my vehicle to Family Auto. This auto shop is located right across the street from ricks auto and does the job they do for half the price, very informative and sweet. I saved myself $700 by going to Family Auto instead of Ricks. I've heard very mixed reviews for Ricks Auto. Some are horrible and some say it's great. My issue with them only stands at it's overpriced and I wish they would have contacted me before doing anything to my vehicle. (However, after this post I did find that one of their workers read this and tried to do everything possible to explain and negate the issue) For me, this helped my view on their business and customer care. At least they were willing to talk to me about what happened.

The staff is quick to greet you and get things moving. The facilities are great with a nice waiting room complete with free coffee of different flavors, child play space, and a nice swivel desk top at each chair. So far the work done seems to be well done. There was a bit of an up-sale as I went in for an oil leak and they recommended a new battery, but I have known that I needed a new battery for a while so that was fine with me. Overall, I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

Five stars!! I had my RV to three different shops and spent hundreds of dollars for electrical and other problems that were never fixed. Rick's (Roy) and his technicians took my RV on as a project, identified several problems right away, and then repaired all of the issues quickly for a modest cost. They kept me informed and in the problem solving loop all the time and took extra time to be sure I was satisfied. All of the work was professionally done and I am totally satisfied with the results! I continue to be amazed at the facility, staff, and quality of service I consistently receive from Ricks Automotive. Yesterday morning I took my vehicle to this shop to have a new set of Michelin Tires installed, a needed alignment, oil and filter change and a inspection of my car to insure everything was right with it. The staff greeted me at the door, went over exactly what I wanted, gave me a time frame for completion, and offered a ride home (free of charge). I decided to stay as the wait time wasn't going to be excessive by anyone's standards. This shop is immaculate, not only the waiting room, but, the service bays, the offices, the property in general, and the restrooms. I got quality coffee and TV while I waited. all at no charge. When the job was done, early by the way, I was presented the bill which was significantly less than I expected to pay at such a quality facility. We went over future needs, current wear levels of key parts and systems, and manufacturers requirements coming up. YOU JUST CAN'T BEAT THE QUALITY, SERVICE, AND PEOPLE AT RICK'S!!

My wife and I's work schedules are long and I never get to go anywhere to have anything done during business hours. (Although I have a problem with how busy they are. Is this their problem, not really, with success comes many people wanting to partake. But I do take a star off because if they cant get to somebody in a timely manner who has a prior appointment scheduled, IMHO, your service has failed me, because I now have to reschedule or run late for other appointments I made that day. In 1986 I went into Rick's because of a recommendation from a client. I told them I believed I needed a new alternator (probably $200 to $400). They asked for my keys and showed me the coffee. After about 20 minutes, they returned with the housing of my alternator, pointing to a gadget inside the housing and announced that I only needed this small item. They said my van would be ready in twenty minutes and my cost would be $40.00. I was floored that someone was so honest that they would give up the larger sale when it was what I expected. 18 years later, I am still their customer, and they have always given me their best service. Over 2000$ later I still have the issue I had before and I don't feel like much was done. I still have play in the steering wheel after an alignment and after asking to get my breaks checked they said they were okay but I'm still not stopping without hopping. There's was an issue they pointed out and then fixed for over 1000 and I thought it would stop the popping while turning, it didn't. It was the first time I have been here and I'm not pleased about the service provided. EDIT: They did complete the work they said they did and they are really nice people but I won't be going back because of the price they put on their work. EDIT: tried to contact them about an alignment but had to leave a voicemail I have not heard back from them, it hasn't been that long so I wanted to work off the previous time that I paid for (which I put over 2k$ into) will update if they contact with report. EDIT: Ricks contacted me and I had not realizing it was close to the 4th of July weekend so the late response makes sense. They said they would but as I had already had the issue corrected it was just good to hear back from them and see they cared.

I recently bought an older Jeep and like many used vehicles it needed some work. They have worked on my vehicle quite a bit lately and I'll never go to another mechanic while I live in Springfield. They truly go above and beyond and don't drain your account when you go to pay. If we are rating them at the level of service they provide their prices are very fair. They even found a part that was recently installed to be faulty (manufactures fault, it happens) and replaced it at no cost, in a timely manner, and clearly explained what was going on and how they were going to properly fix it. That's not easy to find. They care about their customers and I recommend them to everyone who asks me where to go! Great job guys!

Excellent service and friendly staff. NOT the cheapest in town, but how much is quality and confidence worth to you, when your life may be at stake? I have been here multiple times. They actually replaced a complete engine. We had to bring it back several months later due to oil leakage, but they fixed the issues at no cost (engine warranty). Last time, I picked up and expected a breakdown of what issues they had if any, what might be an issue next time, etc. No feedback. I had to ask. Then they had no details readily available. They handed my keys to me, did not let me know where it was parked - they have a huge and diverse parking lot - and I had to walk around until I found my car. I specifically requested Mobil 1 oil. My receipt said Castrol. I called back. They said it was a clerical error, but now doubt has entered my thoughts. I won't be back. They specialize in fleet service, so I felt like I was less than important to them twice in a row.

To date, Rick's has charged me $3500.00 to begin to mechanically restore a 30 year old vanity car. Cheap, they are not....but they are thorough and conscientious. Initially, the car had to be returned a couple of times to rework some failed turbo parts. Rick met personally with me and took time to explain the particular issues. The shop also paid to detail the car at their expense due to the long wait for custom machined parts. I greatly appreciated that personal touch and Rick's time. When you lack the time, skill, and tools to fix these types of things...you must pay the price the market demands. I would HIGHLY recommend Rick's.

All in all very professional and seems like a good shop. I was only here one time for a diagnostic. They actually did an in depth one and ran tests for 130 bucks unlike some shops that just run codes. They told me the actual problems but unfortunately were wrong about what to fix to solve them. They said I had a vacuum leak from the brake booster which was correct but I told them I had just replaced it. They said it must be faulty. They were wrong, turns out it was the seal between the master cylinder and the booster was missing. Overall they are still better than a lot of other shops.

First let me say that Rick's Auto emailed and asked me to write a review, so here it goes. I know that most everyone in Springfield feel that Rick's does a great job but my experience led me to find another shop where I can actually get the work done without having excessive repairs on my older model Jeep. For example, when told by a local quick lube place that numerous fluids needed changed, I took the vehicle back to Rick's since I had been there a few months back and spent over $900 to have any needed repairs completed and was assured these fluids were either changed or "ok". So when I brought the Jeep back to Ricks, sure enough I'm spending another $454 for fluid changes and such that were on my receipt as being done or were fine at the previous visit. After all of this, they still did not fix a leak and had that's when I found another repair shop. Honestly, I find the employees friendly and likeable. It's just I feel they must get a bonus for always seeming to find more work. I've since found a local mechanic who doesn't fix things on a 1999 Jeep that he knows won't make a difference to the vehicle's performance. I guess it's just a matter of trust.

There was the time that they reset some setting on the A/C that fixed a problem that the dealer said would cost nearly $1,000. When the local Toyota dealer wouldn't set an appointment to fix a recall issue, I turned it over to Rick's. If you have a nice car and want to spend the money to keep it that way, this is the place to go. It is pricey due to the experience behind the labor. You get what you pay for here. The diagnostic of car totaled more than what I will spend to fix the car at home myself. That is just them finding the problem, fixing it costs x10 what the part actually costs. That's skilled labor. If you have the money, this place will make you feel taken care of. If not, you are paying way too much.

My wife and I have driven both Cadillacs and Town Cars for the 30+ years that we have been married. The Town Cars have been terrific! The Cadillacs...not so much based on the amount of work and $$$ we have spent keeping the Cadillacs in good working order. My wife did not want to get another Cadillac because of our past history with a particular garage. I persuaded her to give Cadillac another try because Lincoln stopped making the Town Car. Well, the first time in the garage with the Cadillac, we were told that we needed new engine mounts. The second time we were told that we needed to have a $3600 transmission tear-down because the "Check Engine Light" had come on. My wife had lost faith in this garage and told them that she would be in to pick up the Cadillac and take it somewhere for a second opinion. She took it to Rick's. They kept the car and tested it six ways from Sunday and could not get the car to kick out any type of code. She has driven the car for a week since picking it up from Rick's and has not had any trouble, or any "Check Engine" lights coming on. She had told Rick's what the first garage had said re: the transmission and we were prepared to pay for a transmission IF the second opinion indicated that one was needed. Rick's could have very easily taken advantage of us, but they didn't. That, in our minds, spoke volumes about their honesty. My wife said the whole environment was different from the other garage from the moment you walk into Rick's. She said the people were warm and welcoming, and treated her as a valued customer instead of an irritant to their day. We will be doing ALL future business with Rick's and will be encouraging others to do the same!

Rick's did not get it done in a timely mannor. I have an older Audi with a coolant leak and some other issues. They were able to identify the problem areas but when it came to ordering parts they got it wrong the first time. My car was in for work on Tuesday to be completed that week. I had to contact the service representative for followup information on Thursday and had no idea why they were not communicating with me. Monday I get a call that the wrong parts were ordered and the repairs would be delayed. Work was completed the following Friday, nine working days with my car down. I had planned for 4 days down on had to cancel weekend plans due to the delay that was no fault of mine. They were quick to apologize but communication is key. In the future I would expect a call or text as soon as a delay in repair issue is discovered.

Folks here were very friendly but IMO they're just as expensive as going to an auto dealer. Mom's car was in the shop for F-O-U-R Days because they didn't have parts to complete Air Conditioning repair (for an American vehicle). They didn't inform us in advance that our wait would be an extra day - Mom sat there for a few hours on the third day only to discover she'd have to wait one more day. They also don't offer a Veteran's discount. The AC repair took 4.days and cost Over $1,100. If my auto AC breaks down I'll take it to the dealer since they'll have the parts on hand and I'll be able to get it back the same day or at latest by the next morning ** In spite of the above info, they did a great job and Mom is pleased with them and now having a good working AC in her vehicle.

I have used Rick's in the past for new tire installation and both minor and major mechanical work. They have been very thorough and professional in every case and everything was done perfectly. I only had one case where they fell short several years ago and put a different type of oil in during an oil change than what I had specified on the work order. The tech simply didn't read the work order to the very end where it was specified. Rick apologized and asked to make it right. I would recommend them to anyone needing major repairs and tire replacement. Their facility is spotlessly clean.

Fixed the front struts on my Subaru Forester for literally half the price I was quoted at another local shop. Did the job in a timely fashion and gave me a lift to school while they worked on it. I also came in a couple days after that repair, to address an odd sound that was being emitted from my vehicle. They sent a mechanic out on a test drive with me, figured out what the noise was in about 5 minutes and quickly tightened the belt (culprit making the noise) and sent me on my way free of charge! I rarely write reviews, especially for something like an auto shop, but this place is unquestionably at the top of the service heap in Springfield, MO. Don't let yourself get Rick-Rolled by other competing shops, Take it to Rick's if your want the All-Star treatment you deserve folks!

I was told by the dealer it would be at least a week before they could get my car in to figure out why I was stranded in the morning when the vehicle, very unexpectedly, didn't start. I took my Jeep in for an oil change and tire rotation at Rick's. I found out just before my appointment that I needed to be across town for a meeting 45 min after my appointment was scheduled. When I checked in for my appointment, I told this to the gentleman at the front desk and he immediately went to check with the mechanics to see how quickly they could get the work done. They said they could do it so they immediately got to work. Thirty minutes later my oil was changed, tires rotated and an inspection was conducted. When they explained to me what they found on the inspection, they spoke to me professionally and treated me with respect, not talking down to me. They alerted me to a few issues and gave me an idea of the urgency level of each issue without being alarmist or pushing me to make an appointment to get the issues fixed on the spot. I would recommend them for quick, professional service.

Reading a lot of the complaints I can't help but sigh. Quality cost money and a busy high in demand garage takes time to get in to for service. People need to realize they are other people with problems in front of them and refusing to use a part the customer provided is standard. I wouldn't install a part I didn't know the origin or quality of. Rick's get's it done and if they are more expensive than some garages so be it, you get what you pay for. They have the experience and the knowledge to fix your problems. I bet a lot of these people go to a nice fancy place to eat then complain about the wait to get in and that the prices are more than McDonald's. Rick's is quality and worth every penny.

I was on the road traveling from Tulsa, Ok to Buffalo,NY in my RV and alarms started going off on my dash :( telling me I had 100 mi. left before I’m not sure. Pulled into Ricks and Micah Blake, the service adviser took a look at it in the parking lot and between he and a very smart technician who I can’t recall by name repaired and reset my computer and I was back on the road.
