Fantastic experience from start to finish. Ryan welcomed me and got me all set up in their system since this was my first visit with them. I received a call from Josh shortly after dropping my car off who went through the inspection they did and filled me in on the condition of my tires, brake pads, etc. I was originally in for an oil change and tire rotation and they recommended not to do the tire rotation yet, as the tread was still pretty good. Wow! Honest and forthcoming! Already loving this place. Checking out was a breeze and since my tires were starting near the end of their life span, they printed up some quotes for new tires and went through them with me. So glad I decided to come to Golden Valley Tire & Service. Officially my new shop.

Had a tire blow out on the freeway, but I do a lot of driving, so I needed a quick turnaround for new tires and a bunch of way-overdue services like rear breaks, alignment, etc. I chose Golden Valley Tire & Service based on their glowing Google Reviews, and I can now confirm that the others were right: unlike many other auto shops, I immediately felt like I was being treated with respect and honesty. I called at 7:00 AM, right when they opened to inquire about getting a patch on my tire (since I ran over a lovely piece of metal on the highway) and my replacement tube didn’t work the night before. They told me to drop it off and they would fit me in. I received a call later in the afternoon to let me know that my car was next and they would let me know when it was finished. They called less than an hour later, with my car being finished. Since it was after hours, they were able to let me pay online and do an after hours pick up.

Had an oil change done. Also had an issue with my brakes, I thought it would be air in my brake lines, they confirmed that with an inspection and had it done quickly and at a reasonable cost. They also had recommendations for other services and I didn’t feel pressured to get them done right away. Overall a very good first time experience.

Brought my car in on Monday to get check engine light diagnosed. Turns out Turbocharger was broken and needed to be replaced. Within 3 days, they had gotten the replacement turbo from Chevy, replaced it, and worked with my warranty provider to get some of the bill paid for. Explained the process in professional and friendly manner, and updated me daily. Bill listed all services and parts in itemized fashion. Highly recommend using this shop.

These guys are always great, but this time they went well beyond. I made a last-minute appointment to have my oil changed because I was leaving on a road trip - I needed the car back by 1 o’clock. When they said they could do it, I also asked if they could swap my snow wheels/tires for my summer setup and they said that still wouldn’t be a problem. Two hours before they said it would be done, they called me to come and pick it up. My total bill including the wheel change was less than the oil change store down the street for just oil. Excellent service.

I had the majority of my suspension components replaced on my 12 year old Acura. It was an investment, but the car drives like new Very solid! The inspection was VERY thorough. Ryan and his team are great. Ive lived in the twin cities for 10+ years and have long been searching for the "honest" mechanic, and so glad i was referred here a couple of years ago. The team is very up-front with the work they do, as well as their recommendations, pricing etc. Always complete their work on time, and have even stayed open late on a Friday on one occasion to accommodate my sometimes wonky schedule.

I've had to bring my car in a couple times with things stuck in the tire and they fix the tire right, not just put a plug in it. I would recommend these guys %100 ! They do an inspection every time I bring it in and recommend what needs to be done right away or may soon need repair or service, and never recommend unnecessary repairs ! Have had alot of work done by them. Tires, oil change, regularly scheduled maintenance. They give a heads up when things need to be addressed and no pressure when they give a quote on work. Timing belt was expensive but much cheaper than dealership prices. They even had a loner car to use since we only have 1 vehicle. Will keep going back to them.

I had a pretty bad vibration (noticable at 55-65 mph) coming from below my van and I couldn't figure it out. So, I brought my van to the fantastic crew at Golden Valley Tire and Service. In 20-30 minutes they had the driveshaft pinned down as the problem. They ordered parts (whole drive shaft assembly) and within a couple days they had everything in from their supplier. I came in and they got everything put together in under an hour, and I even saved over a hundred dollars off the original quote! Overall an amazing experience with an extremely professional team. Great job, guys.

Golden Valley Tire is an amazing place to bring your car in! I have them fix my car always I don’t let anyone fix my car but them and whenever they fix something it doesn’t break or me needing to bring it back in. GV tire is locally owned and is a gem of Golden Valley. They are helpful and we’re able to do my strut and shock replacements in lightening speed. I was without my vehicle for less than 30 hours but they provided a loaner vehicle to use so I could my to keep my life moving. I was able to save by choosing local over the big dealer. I would highly recommend them for your future repairs. I will certainly be back for my next repair, just hopefully not too soon!

I was searching for a decent place to recharge the AC in my 22 year old car. After 5 places, I stumbled across this one, and it ended up having the best price and by far the best customer service. I dropped it off the night before, and they called me the next morning telling me the AC works properly, AND told me there was an issue with my hood and that I had a small exhaust leak. It was totally unexpected that they would look for other issues with my car, and told me about it. I was so happy with this. I recommended this place to a few people already and it hasn't been 24 hours since I got my car back. I even had fun conversation with some of the employees. Ill be back again!

These guys are amazing!!! My car (2014 nissan Sentra) had been making this loud humming sound for a while when I go over 40mph. So it started getting louder and the car would drift to the right so I said let me go and get it checked I put this off for wayyy too long. Plus it started making a clicking noise when I would make sharp turns. The weekend I went to get my oil changed by valvoline drive through service in golden valley I noticed this tire place across the way. They were closed already so I went Monday after work and Dave was so sweet to me. Explained the whole process about the inspection, what happens if they do find things wrong and what to expect. He allowed me to leave my car there that evening and called me the next morning (Tuesday) with a full diagnostic of what needed to be fixed. (Wheel bearing, strut and mount with wheel alignment). Before he even told me how much each would cost I asked him which is more pertinent to fix right now and he told me the wheel bearing. Thankfully that was the cheaper of the two lol. He had my car ready that Tuesday by 3:30pm. They work fast efficient and really really well. Nonetheless, he was very honest and fairly priced, and very kind and understanding. I will be returning to them soon to finish the other things that need to be fixed. I highly highly recommend them (golden valley HWY 55 location) THANKS GUYS!!!

I showed up at Golden Valley Tire with a nail in one of my tires close to closing time. Although they weren't able to fix my tire on the spot, they offered me several options to get my tire repaired quickly. They were able to order a new tire and have it put on my car in less than 24 hours to have me back on the road. The service was friendly and the team members there are knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to have tire service or any regular maintenance on their vehicle.

I had front tires replaced and an alignment done. Needed a new tie rod and other things. My only problem was clarity. A price quoted did NOT include the price of the tires, only the additional work to be done. I was mildly irked when the total was several hundred dollars more than what I thought had been quoted. That being said, the work the done was excellent, my car drives like new.

Great shop to work with. They clearly communicated the pricing options on the work that needed to be done and didn't assume the "worst case" (read $$$$$) option from the get-go. They will point out other potential issues that they see but they are very keen to point out this can wait 3 months or you may want to address this sooner than later. It was my first time ever going to a shop to have my car looked at. I had an awful squealing noise coming from what I thought was my rear tires, but their staff found that the problem was actually coming from my front tires and they broke it down to me very professionally what was wrong and what was needed to fix the issue. I dropped my car off to them earlier in the day, and it was really nice getting calls from them letting me know the status of my car. Their pricing is extremely fair, and the rep I was working with even went out of his way to pull a Carfax report for my car, and I found out that there is a recall for an engine part free of charge! He also told me a few future problems that can arise and broke that down for me with pricing and everything. All-in-all, I was very satisfied with my experience here and I'm most definitely going to be going back to them again, should something else come up. I'd recommend this shop to anyone that needs any kind of work done on their car.

As a non-mechanical person - Brandon explained to me the problems I was having in a way that did not make me feel like I was being talked down to, he made the process of getting a car repair better than expected. I got in my car one night and my battery was dead. So the next day I got roadside assistance and they got my car going. I called Golden Valley Tire to see if I could bring my car in for a new battery. I thought my battery was old but was pleased to find that I had bought it from them just less than 3 years ago . They service person checked the battery and told me it was borderline and that I could choose to keep it as it would still work or I could put a new battery in. I chose to get a new one so I wouldn't have to deal with the battery dying again perhaps when I was out of town or something. I was pleasantly surprised to be getting a hefty discount on the new battery because of the warranty on the old one. So I got a brand new battery for less than $100. It was going to be almost 200 with installation other wise. I give Golden Valley Tire a 10 for their honesty and service.

Due to a previous experience elsewhere, I was concerned about road noise after rotating tires. They test drove my car before and after to confirm the road noise didn’t change. I've gone to this shop for many years, for both routine work and the occasional urgent fix (i.e. tire patching), and they've always managed to fit me into their schedule and get the work done, and done properly! There are other auto shops closer to where I live, but these folks know their stuff and have earned my loyalty as a customer! Edit 2018: I wrote my initial review (above) two years ago, and it is still valid. Recently I developed bead leaks on 3 of my 4 tires, and today they buffed and resealed all four, for free! Still a great place to take your car!

The engine on my 2011 Jeep Liberty started making clanky noises and would not start. I had it towed to Golden Valley Tire and Auto because it was nearby and because they had done a good job with new tires for me previously. They diagnosed it as internal mechanical failure, meaning it needed a new engine. Fortunately I had an extended warranty with AUL. GVTA did all the coordination with the warranty company and the 20 hours of labor to pull the old engine and install the replacement. When they were all done, the car ran great. I could not tell there had ever been a problem. I highly recommend them.

Went for an oil change and check over. I had a belt squeak issue at cold start up that I wanted checked out too. It wasn't happening at time of drop off (totally understand how these things go, (if you can't hear it how do you know what to fix right..) Long story short I was hoping for a quick belt tension check at time of inspection but this shop wanted to charge me for an adjustment in order to check it out (.7 of an hour) I declined because I thought that was a total RIP off and a disservice to someone just asking for a quick tension check. Bottom line I get home and check the belt myself and it seemed I little loose. I spent about 5 minutes on my own to tighten and problem solved. I will not be using this shop in the future. Sometimes you need to throw in little things to gain confidence in your mechanics. Unfortunately I have a bad taste and won't be back.
