I have taken multiple family vehicles to this location over the last 10+ years. They always provide me with a very detailed overview of what the car was taken in for…along with areas that might need // or do need attention. I only purchase used vehicles, so the preventive maintenance in collaboration with general maintenance have kept my vehicles running long past my expectation. Plus the “loaner vehicle” that they provide as bonus feature has been a life-saver. Thank you to Ian, Robert, and the whole Bob and Son’s team for creating a trustworthy shop where I always know the work will be done very well in an a very time efficient window.

One of the things that attracts me to West Manchester are the amount of locally owned businesses. Families have been here for generations, as the city around them has changed. The chains don’t really operate north of Granite Street. I’ve taken my car to chains my whole life, and that’s a mistake. They will nickel and dime you and flag things that may not need much work. It’s a money game. Bob and Sons Automotive is not a chain. They’re cut from the same cloth a lot of the West Side businesses are: If you do good work, people will come through no matter what. These folks care about doing a good job and being transparent about it. You’ll notice there’s no Napa logo or anything that would indicate there are corporate interests pushing products or financial benchmarks. When getting even something as simple as an oil change and inspections, Bob and Sons will give you a full report of your car’s health that is more detailed than a Steinbeck book. They will tell you what is required to pass inspection, and what isn’t, and they won’t pressure you to make a financial decision you can’t make. You will drive away knowing everything you need to know about your car and that everything you paid for was well worth it. You do pay a premium going to the little guys, but it’s not much more than what VIP and the like would charge, and the peace of mind knowing that the folks at Bob and Son’s are invested in doing the job right. I highly recommend bringing your car here for just about anything your car needs. Make sure to say hi to Erica and Ian!

This is the 3rd, and thankfully, FINAL place that I brought my VW to have the rear pads and rotors replaced but the issue was I lost the lug nut key. If anyone is familiar with the process, hence the reason why this was my 3rd place having it attempted, and actually done RIGHT. Not only did the mechanic Jon do it right, there was literally no collateral damage as they had to torch them out on aluminum rims and he did an AMAZING job!!!!!!! Highly recommended!!!!!! And I’ll NEVER take my car anywhere else!!!!!!

First of all, the customer service is amazing. So, in this industry, that's already a huge plus right out of the gates. Trust me, I've had a lot of experience working in CS - They bring that good Top Shelf stuff. I'm a relatively new customer at Bob & Sons, but they seem committed to doing a thorough job and giving you all of the information you need, including a detailed online report. They flagged the immediate issues, with pictures, and made suggestions for other routine maintenance. My old Jeep needed a lot of TLC, and they delivered. I really can't say enough good things about this place.

Bob & Sons is exactly the kind of mechanic you hope for but never find. They are personable and incredibly experienced. If you have a used car and you want to know exactly what is wrong with it - these guys are truly the best. Their rates are fair but more than anything they are looking out for you first - they found issues that my old mechanic had caused and advised me on selling the vehicle. I cannot thank them enough. Our long time mechanic closed on Elm street a few years back (Al), we have struggled to find a reputable quality place since then. I am happy to say we found a gem in Bob & Sons. Its a smaller shop with a very friendly front desk. Pros: Honest, quality diagnostic work, (really liked the system they have worked out,) solid repairs. Cons: Expensive. I’ve been bringing our vehicles to Bob and Sons for over 20 years now for regular maintenance and repair work. I trust them totally for their honesty and quality of work. I believe their charges are competitive but importantly, I’m super confident in the quality of their work and when they fix something, it virtually always stays fixed and on the rare occasion when something doesn’t get addressed correctly, they always make it right. They are on time with their work and are highly detail oriented. Plus, everyone who works there is super nice and friendly. Highly recommended if you want reliable, fair car servicing .

Transparency is key here. I know enough to be dangerous with cars but if you came to me with $6000 worth of "needed" work, I have no idea if I actually need it. Why I usually hate going to garages. NEVER once did I feel that pressure or doubt with Bob and Sons. I had my mother's truck for the week and her brakes were awful. She'd brought it to her local garage twice and was told the brakes were fine. The guys here ended up replacing nearly every component of the braking system. Front brakes weren't even working. They send you pictures and explanations and update you if things change. Best repair money I've ever spent on a car. Go see these guys if you need something done on an older car. Can't say enough good things.

Absolutely fabulous customer service. Incredibly reasonable recommendations for service, impressive turn around time, very professional, very knowledgeable staff. It was a very easy decision to pull the trigger to have a fair amount of work done on a vehicle that sat motionless for almost 11 months. I was kept in the loop every step of the way, all of my questions were answered without hesitation or “beating around the bush.” I can definitely say I am a Bob and Sons customer as long as I am a vehicle owner in Manchester. Had a lot of problems with my engine misfiring. Friends who knew about cars had suggestions, but nothing worked. Eventually at the end of my rope I brought it here. Had a cause diagnosis the same day, also fixed the same day. Even gave me a ride to my nearby work when I dropped it off! They provided some recommendations for other services, but were not at all pushy about it, more like a "just so you know, we also see this other issue which could become a problem." Overall, I was very happy and while I hope my car never has another major issue the rest of the time I own it, I will come here again the next time my car starts to act up. Update: I still use Bob & Sons Automotive exclusively for all my service and repairs. Car still runs like a dream and I never have to worry about it. Great service, would highly recommend. Another Update: It's winter of 2020, and I still bring my car here for anything it needs. My vehicle is running great, and Bob & Sons always take the time to answer any questions I have about any services I have done on the vehicle. Great place and I still wholeheartedly reccomend.

Excellent experience with these folks today!! I called this morning to set up a state inspection for my vehicle and they were able to get me in on a moment’s notice! I let them know that I had to leave for an appointment at 10:30am (I dropped the car off at 9:30) and by 10:00am I was getting a call that it was all set and good to go. I spoke with Ian on the phone and dealt with Robert at the front desk, both were exceptionally friendly & professional. Pricing was fair and the entire process was smooth and hassle free (which can be hard to find with automotive shops). Bob & Sons is legit and the place to go in Manchester for good, honest business with great folks!

I am fairly new to Manchester. Before moving here, I had a privately owned garage I always used because it was close to my home and convenient. Now that garage is 30 miles away. I hadn't really thought about needing to find a NEW local garage until my car started making the kind of metal-on-metal grinding noise that lets you know you don't want to drive it 30 miles down the highway to your old place. But a new garage isn't like a new dentist. Mechanics can really screw you over if you don't find one you can trust. I Googled, read reviews, looked up ratings on the Better Business Bureau site, and finally landed on Bob & Sons. The reviews were positive and ratings were good, but it was still a gamble with the unknown. Through the website, I requested an appointment. It was Sunday afternoon, and I did not expect a response. Within an hour, I received an email from Ian, whom I recognized from his bio on the website. They got me in the next day. I was greeted warmly and the whole process was explained to me. I would receive a text message with a detailed overview of my vehicle's status, at which point I would call and discuss repairs and costs. The overview of my vehicle revealed a number of recommended repairs, which were prioritized according to their safety concerns. My vehicle is getting up there in age, so there were quite a few recommendations, but I was not pressured even in the slightest to do more than the most essential repair -- rear brake pads and rotors. Not only was I not pressured to do the less urgent repairs, but they offered to inspect my vehicle (3 months ahead of the date) and put a sticker on it once the brakes were replaced. The repairs weren't cheap, so being of a suspicious nature, I did a little research to find out if I was being charged a reasonable amount. It turns out yes, what I was charged was typical for the repairs done. When I picked up my car, I was given a "goodie bag" to thank me for my business. I was very pleased with the experience from start to finish and have found a new local garage for sure!

Let’s face it nobody likes big car/truck repair bills. This was my first visit at Bob and Sons. Bob and Sons came highly recommended, so I took the chance. Yes, my bill was high, but that was not Bobs fault. My vehicle was 16 years old and my previous mechanic just didn’t want to work on it. Bob and Sons gave me a complete bumper to bumper review of the current state of my vehicle ( a Chevy 2500 HD). I came to Bob’s with my own list of issues. Robert explained in advance everything that would be done and approximately what it would cost and how long. I decided which repairs to do and which not. Bob and Sons even provided me with a loaner vehicle. Could I have gotten a better price, maybe. But the service and confidence in their workmanship, means it was money well spent. You get what you pay for! I will return.

I have been a customer of Bob and Sons Automotive, Inc for more years than I can remember and they have bailed me out of many automotive situations while also handling standard maintenance on our vehicles. On Tuesday, my car (aka Anastasia Beaverhausen) decided to gift me with a flat tire. Fortunately, I had just arrived at a job site and was able to safely social distance while one of the framing crew members put the spare on. Once I got back home, I made the call to determine what to do next. Not only was Robert able to schedule the appointment quickly; but, as an added service, I was offered the option of contact-less pick up and delivery for the service appointment. I am thankful that Bob and Sons Automotive, Inc is still out there offering the highest level of service during these unprecedented times.

I had my first experience with Bob & Son's yesterday and it was absolutely excellent. I was in a desperate mood when I showed up and had no appointment. My car was overheating and temporary fixes with coolant replacement were no longer helping. When I drove to Bob & Son's, I had fumes coming from my hood. Initially, due to their packed schedule, they directed me next door to see if a nearby mechanic had an opening but when they realized I was helpless, the staff approached me with concern. They fit me in their schedule and worked on my car in such a timely manner. I had thorough access to the diagnostics online and I was updated on progress on my car through text messages. The staff was extremely professional. They even offered to give me a ride after I dropped off my car and again a ride, in a stormy weather, to pick up my car after it was all fixed. In less than 24hrs, my car was fixed. Given that I had no appointment and the bad weather, I'm extremely impressed by their willingness to help me as a desperate customer. I honestly don't know what I would have done without them. My car is driving smoothly now. My water pump needed to be replaced and the engine belt was replaced as well and engine oil topped. I would highly recommend their service.

Loved the personal service and friendliness of the staff. Made me feel very comfortable leaving my car in their care. Update 9/2019 amazing experience once again. My car was due for an inspection but I’ve been so busy I can’t get to the shop. Bob and Sons not only picked my vehicle up at my office, they left me a loaner should I need to go out while they had my car. The detailed report on the entire vehicle diagnostics was great and I was able to have a couple of non-inspection related items taken care of while they had the vehicle! My girlfriend and I have been going exclusively to Bob and Son's for our automotive needs since we moved to New Hampshire 6 months ago, and we have been nothing but highly satisfied with the overall service they provide. One thing that really means a lot to both of us is how customer-orientated they are. Robert and Ian are both very friendly on the phone, and always want to know WHO they talking to first instead of WHAT the call is about. They remember who you are and will even ask about your day, or recall details from previous conversations and ask about those. Alongside excellent customer service, they also have a nifty membership program, where you can save up points from spending money at their store. These points then translate into coupons they send directly to you in the mail! You don't have to track your account or even bother logging into anything to redeem the points because they track it all at store! My girlfriend probably love this aspect of their business the most. We have already saved well over $100 in coupons, probably close to $200 in just 6 months! In my opinion, their membership program has been the best I've used in terms of the ratio of discounts to money spent. As far as our vehicles are concerned, they are operating just as they should be. Every fix or service we've gone to them for has been done correctly (as far as I know, not being a mechanic myself) and promptly. They are also proactive about telling us other services or parts our vehicles will be needing in the near future, but can operate without for the time being. Anyway, I highly recommend Bob and Son's for your automotive needs. They have gone above and beyond my expectations for car service. My girlfriend and I both agree that Bob and Son's is the best automotive/repair shop that either of us have ever done business with. Thanks Bob and Son's! Keep up the great work!

In today’s day and age, it’s hard to find a mechanic that is trustworthy, reasonably priced and nice. Bob and Sons is all three, and more! I needed some work done and they worked with my insurance to get everything done in a timely manner and helped navigate all the issues. As I was backing out of my parking space when all the work was done, Dennis noticed my break light was out and fixed it right in the parking lot before I left! I cannot recommend this team enough! Normally I'm the person that will only take my vehicles to the dealership to get services. But, after many experiences of the dealership raiding my bank account I wanted to test the waters for alternatives. I found myself dealing with Bob & Sons after diligently researching online for a competent shop. As you can tell with all the other reviews these guys check all the boxes. With Bob & Sons you will get a transparency on the work that needs to be done or something you overlooked, quality work from very capable techs(very important), and a fair price. I do have to call out their inspection that they email/text you when they first get the vehicle in their shop. More shops should do this because they call out the good and the bad, then back it up with photo proof! This goes along with the transparency I called out earlier but I will gladly be taking my vehicles to Bob & Sons from now on. Plus everyone at the shop is very pleasant to deal with and they make you feel like you've been coming there for years (even if it's your first time). Brought my Car to Bob & Sons for the first time for a noise in my suspension and noise under the hood of my car. They where on time and friendly when I dropped off my vehicle plus offered a car to use while I waited, which was a lifesaver and allowed me to get things done instead of waste an entire day waiting for my car to be completed. After looking over the car they provided pictures and detailed comments on what they found (My belts needed to be replaced and suspension was in great condition) I don't know much about the workings of a car and I was appreciative of their honesty and not taking me for a ride. I also had them do an oil change and over all had on of the best experiences at an auto repair shop. I would strongly recommend those looking for a great locally owned repair shop to check out Bob & Sons, you can't go wrong.

Bobs and Sons are my go to garage. I have a long commute and my car is rather old, so having a place that can accomodate immediate needs and provide quality service is paramount for me. Bobs and Sons fits this description. They are polite, knowledgeable and professional. I love that they keep me informed of my cars status and make it clear to me what they recommend my car absolutely needs and what can wait. They have fixed many things for me so far, including a full tune up, inspection, emission sensors, new brakes and much more, all the work holds up. I drive almost 100 miles a day and my car is 13 years old, so this shows Bobs and Sons work can stand up rigorous testing. I highly recommend them! Yes, they may not be the "cheapest" place in town, but in the car world you get what you pay for and they have the highest quality work I've seen in the area. Also, they have a great rewards program and send coupons and discounts that can sometimes be combined.

First time I went there they were extremely friendly and respectful. I wasn't able to find a mechanic I liked until this one. Every other place I went to tried to get me to pay for more because I'm a woman so they think I don't know what's going on in my car (which was mostly true). They have always been great to deal with from service to payments and everything in between. I have recommended them to friends and co-workers, all of which have come back and told me the great experience they have there as well. Bob and Sons is a great place to go for all things automotive. Just went in for a state inspection. I was greeted over the phone with genuine friendliness when i scheduled the inspection. I received a list of everything that needed to get fixed now and everything that needed to get fixed soon. I was walked through step by step what I'd need and what to expect. I even got a lift to the shop when my car was ready for me to pick it up. This was only my second state inspection owning my own vehicle and they made it simple. Absolutely outstanding.

My 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo completely died Monday night after a harrowing trip home from my night job. Had the vehicle towed to Bob & Sons Automotive, Inc. after reading there reviews on Google Tuesday morning. Turns out the vehicle had a dead battery and the negative battery cable needed to be replaced. Other problems were also identified as well but no pressure tactics were used to have them fixed. The service was commendable, courteous and extremely professional. My vehicle was repaired within the same day and I was able to get it back Tuesday afternoon. I had become aware of an issue with the engine light staying on and knew something needed attention. I am very glad to have met the great people at Bob & Son's Automotive in Manchester New Hampshire. I was driving from Connecticut to look at a car that a private person was selling. I needed to find a trustworthy place to do a pre-purchase car inspection and when I saw online that Bob & Son's had been in business since 1964 that made me feel much more comfortable & confident. From the first phone call I made, Robert answered the phone promptly and treated me with kindness, courtesy, patience and respect. He went through the things that were good but also had to tell me that there were several large urgent issues and several smaller upcoming issues with the car. I was sad the car wasn't what I had hoped it would be, but so very grateful for Josh's expertise, honesty and thoroughness. Went to Bob and Sons to have an antique truck inspected that I was thinking of buying. Because I'm not from the area I selected them based on their favorable ratings/reviews. Glad I did. My only hangup is that I would say needs to be adjusted is their prices they are very high. 60 dollars for an oil change and 350 dollars for and ATF change is very pricey considering these jobs together should take no more than an hour. That is the difference between a 4 star and a 5 star review. To alleviate this problem they should allow doubling and tripling up of coupons, as I get coupons from them on a monthly basis.

We are from out of town and found a vehicle we liked at a dealership in Manchester. It was really important that we have a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) done before we considered buying a vehicle from out of our area. I found Bob & Sons online and they had an detailed page on their website about PPIs. I contacted them and spoke with Robert who was very helpful explaining the process. I ended up communicating extensively with Ian. Ian was able to get me in touch with someone at the dealership and after sometime waiting for the dealership to get the vehicle to Bob & Sons it all worked out. Ian went out of his way to make sure I got the inspection I wanted and worked with the dealer, all well keeping me in the loop. The vehicle ended checking out great, we got a professional digital document that thoroughly explained everything thing they found. This gave me the confidence I needed to be sure I was getting what I was paying for. Without Bob & Sons I'm not sure how I could have made all this work. It was nice to work with a shop that prides themselves in integrity and customer service, even with someone who is not from the area.

I was in an accident. An animal ran into my car! I hit it very hard, and it caused lots of damage. I was stranded as my car was not drivable. The next morning I called Bob and Sons ( they are close to me and I needed a tow) I only recently returned to my hometown, and only knew of one mechanic who could not take my car for several weeks. I spoke with Mark and he sent towtruck right away all along telling me how much things would cost there was much more damage than expected and it turned out to be quite a pricey repair, but I do feel they were honest, fast, and friendly. As a female, I am always worried when I have to take my car to a mechanic, how am I going to be lied to today? I wont be worried now that I have found these guys. They did a diagnostic test on my car, told me any issues they found. Then pointed me back to the dealership for the issue. There is a factory recall for my car that the dealership could probably repair. Also, they offered to talk to the dealership about the diagnostics they ran so the dealership shouldn't have to do their own. Brough my girlfriends 1997 Subaru Impreza in today around noon because it was leaking coolant like crazy and this was the closest shop we could reach while trying to not overheat the engine. They were friendly and helpful. We received emails citing every issue with the car, and the specific ones that needed to be fixed (what I though it was - the hose connecting the radiator to the engine was cracked and leaking) All in all, it only cost $280 for a full repair, oil change, oil and air filter change, and they even included multiple (about 25!) pictures of all the issues w/ the car that should be looked at. This is a very fair price, in my opinion. They were not pushy to get the other issues fixed, only informative as to what was wrong with the car. (Some rust and other issues we already know about - the car is on its way out soon, it wont be worth fixing vs buying a diff car, so its nice to not have a mechanic try to push fixing everything possible on you. The best part? It was fixed within a few hours, so she wont miss any more days of work - a hidden cost associated with most other shops which take 4 or 5 days to get around to a 2 hour job.

My clutch went out and it was definitely a hard time, they were honest about how long it would be and what the cost was going to be and letting me know the possible total if something else was wrong once they got in there. They did everything they could to work with me as a first time customer and the expense. They also did everything they could to repair a part instead of having to replace it and have it be more expensive!!
