Fantastic experience!. We are from out of state. My son is in LA attending his first year in college. He had concerns with his brakes and we know absolutely nobody in the area. I did my research, read reviews, and spoke with Lily who assured me she would take good care of my son. I was terrified we’d be screwed over as many mechanics unfortunately do so. Instead we were given the best honest customer service. They looked over everything and gave me constant updates. His car was checked thoroughly to get him back on the road safely. I am beyond grateful for the honesty and care Lily and the Larsen team gave me and my son!

I have taken two cars for a half dozen surfaces at Larsen's, and I won't go anywhere else! The owner Nick, is friendly, personable, and takes the time to let you know what is truly necessary versus what can wait. When crooks stole my catalytic converter, he replaced it, worked with my insurance, and installed a cage to prevent it from happening again. Love this place!

Always friendly and efficient tho I was a bit disappointed that I had to wait for 3 hours after notification that service had been completed for a pickup. Pickup service is one of the reasons I keep returning to Larsens. This is the 1st time that I had to wait that long. Granted one of those hours was lunch. I’m an LA newcomer and selected Larsen because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews. I had a transmission problem in my car so I called the team, expecting to have to wait days and for the estimate to be in the thousands. Instead, Nick had me bring in the car that morning, and the issue was resolved by 5pm for a fair price. The diagnostic check was delivered the same day and Daniel, who I spoke with, was very patient and answered all of our questions. Fantastic service and prompt return of vehicle. While an oil change is fairly generic, the general evaluation revealed an air leak on one tire that requires replacement! This finding prevented the possibility of a flat tire at an inopertune time, so I was very grateful. Very kind staff. Highly recommended business.

Very happy with the experience. When I called to inquire about what service I needed, Nick was very friendly and gave me a quote over the phone. I took my brand new CRV Honda to Larsen Automotive today for its first scheduled maintenance. They were way more reasonable of a cost than the Dealership. Car was done within 2 hours! Had a low/flat tire from a nail, and needed to get on the highway for a trip. Another garage said it wasn’t patchable and tried to sell me 4 tires. A friend of our daughter recommended Larsen. Nick at Larsen told me to just bring it over and they could probably patch it and get me on my way. I went right over and they took me right away- patched the tire and checked all the others, and they reassured me it was safe to drive, and that we probably would need tires in 5-10k miles. I asked if they sold tires. No, but could get them and install them with a day’s notice— and that is definitely who we’ll go through in 5k miles!! I was on the road in 30 minutes!

UPDATE: Went back more recently and again, Larsen's ended up saving me a TON of money! Dealer had said I need $1200-1400 worth of worth, Larsen's inspected and fixed my car's undercarriage for less than $150, and explained when I might actually want to do other repairs and what they meant. LOVE THEM. Larsen’s quoted me less than the dealer for my needed repairs, then ended up charging even less than that! They got everything done in one day, and drove me to work after dropping off my car. They were communicative and checked with me before purchasing and additional needed part. Good experience all around.

Nick and his guys are amazing. Brought my car in this morning, after being away for over a year (just got a quick drive-through oil change last time, cause covid) and he still remembered me. Just dropped off the car, told him I needed an oil change, a new headlight, and a check up, and was on my way. They never push you to get done anything you don’t need, they will honestly tell you if something can wait. I got my oil change, new headlights, new brake pads, and my brake lines cleaned, and I am a happy woman. I haven’t had a complaint about Larsen in the 5+ years I’ve been coming to them. And I got a free exterior car wash!! What more could you ask for?

I went to Larsen for the first time yesterday and cannot speak highly enough about the experience. Nick, the owner (and grandson of the original Larsen who opened the business - super cool story if you ask him about it) was easily the nicest shop owner I've ever worked with. My jeep was in, fixed, and out within the day at a very competitive price for some e-brake work. He kept me updated and informed throughout the process, very clearly stated what they were planning on doing and no attempts to upsell or mislead. You can tell these guys care about quality service. I moved to LA a few years ago right out of school, and until I found Larsen's Automotive, every dealership I went to I felt like I was being taken advantage of or I felt like I was always dismissed and not properly explained the certain work I needed to have done to my vehicle. I saw Larsen's one day while I was driving by and the place looked inviting and friendly and I took a chance with my oil change. I could not be more grateful I did, because now I have an auto shop that I love and constantly refer to everyone I know! I’ve had my routine maintenance done at Larsen Auto for many years but in 2018 I had 2 unexpected repair needs (dead battery & leaking radiator). For both repairs I was advised by phone what to do to make it to the shop and when I arrived my car was assessed and quickly repaired. A few years ago I went to a hole in the wall for a smog check. This time I used DMV's website to identify approved STAR stations. After researching vendors I decided on Larsen Automotive, and I am glad I did. I emailed an inquiry about price and availability. Nick Larsen responded immediately. My schedule appointment for a 2012 Honda Fit began promptly at 10 AM. The process was completed within 35 minutes as promised by manager Edgar Zaldivar who was very pleasant and professional. When I told him I would walk around the neighborhood, Edgar suggested the waiting room. That was another PLUS -- exceptionally clean area and a nice selection of diverse magazines. Smog certifications at Star stations varies depending on location and vehicle age from $29.95 to $59.95 (including CA smog certificate). Larsen Automotive charged $51.45 (labor) & $8.25 (certificate). Bottom line... I didn't mind the price. The emissions inspection and customer service was worth it!! As a corneal transplant recipient, I am particular about utilizing waiting areas outside of my home. I highly recommend Larson Automotive and will go back in the future.

I've been in the West LA area for about six months, and had been thinking I needed to find a local mechanic when my catalytic converter was stolen. I found Larsen Automotive and headed over. Nick was amazing explaining what had happened, that he could service it, and handled working with my insurance. Honest! Forthright. No tricks. Serious mechanics. These professionals do a great job with fair pricing (not cheap, but fair and well worth it). You know your car and wallet are in good hands at Larsen's. It came AAA recommended and now I take both of my old cars there. They are humming along great with 125k and 205k miles of them, respectively. Nick and Oscar are great customer service front-office guys who translate your desires to the smart mechanics. They remember you by name and treat you well.

I am very happy with my experience at Larsen Automotive! Starting with Nick at the front desk, who was not only genuinely friendly, but went the extra mile to make sure that everything was attended to properly. They correctly diagnosed what could have been a tricky issue and did not overcharge me. They even fixed a hanging wire at no extra charge. These are the little things that make a difference. It is the mom and pop experience, which is hard to find these days.

I was heading to the movies and I noticed one of my tires was deflated. I was nervous to drive so with about 20 min till the movie started I swung by Larsen’s to have it checked out. Nick the owner and Edgar the manager, two incredible men immediately took care of me, inflated my tire at no charge, checked my oil because it was a long time since I had a oil change and sent me on my way to make my movie. In return I dropped off my car the next day for a oil change and to see if the tire had a leak which it did not Edgar said. I've had them work on 2 of my vehicles and they've done amazing work with really great prices. In July of 2020 they rebuilt my transmission on my GMC G2500 Vandura and a full set of tires with the spare. Only took about 1 week to have it done and it was almost exactly the estimated price. Most recently I had them work on another G2500 Van (diamond executive) and it ended up under the estimated price and I had to have my odometer rebuilt and rear brakes(also had a leak) and shocks and a smog. They're always very friendly and keeps you up to date on how everything's going. This is the only shop I bring my cards to.
