This place was great. I had to take my car in for an oil change and also had to bring my little girl with me. The lobby was so comfortable and cozy and we enjoyed some coffee and snacks while we waited. Overall the service was spectacular, fast and friendly. I would recommend. They also had a great special going on- half off an oil change and free state inspection is a BIG win! Bring your coupon if you got one in the mail! 🏁

The location is very clean and spacious which was a huge plus as I had two toddlers with me. The bathroom was large and very clean. Large comfy chairs in the waiting room. They also provided snacks and drinks. This is a very different from what I usually experience at a mechanic. The wait time wasn’t too bad and the employees were very nice and professional. Will definitely be back whenever I need more work done again.

The gentlemen at the desk were very polite and friendly, the environment was clean and bright, there were refreshments and very comfortable chairs available. And as if that wasn’t enough, the gentleman gave me a coupon for a free car inspection! He also noted a couple of future repairs, but wasn’t forceful in anyway. I have been coming to this shop for two years now and it is the BEST place I’ve found in all of my time living here! I’ve come for multiple different oil changes, brakes, and other work and I have never had any issues! Prices are great, and the service can’t be beat as everyone is so friendly. They even have redone the inside with lots of seating, snacks, and entertainment. I highly recommend this place!

I came here for a state inspection today and was in and out quickly. The lobby is very comfortable with reclining couches that have swivel tables to set a laptop on and there's a complimentary coffee station to enjoy while you wait. The staff were all very friendly and personable too. I'll definitely be using them in the future.

Brought my car here for a state inspection. The lobby is newly remodeled and it’s more like a spa with music and fireplace than an automotive repair shop. Super friendly staff, close to home and quick service are a definite bonus. Also, they have great coupons and inspections for customers over 60 are always free.

WOW! This is the BEST repair shop I have been to since coming to Houston 4 years ago! Honest, knowledgeable mechanics and Gina at the front desk is AMAZING!! She makes the customers feel like welcomed guests!! I moved away from the Kingwood area and have tried other repair shops closer to my new apartment, but the others just do not stack up to the service and reliability I receive at KINGWOOD TIRE AND AUTOMOTIVE. Thank you for your exceptional customer service at reasonable prices! Update - 15 February 2023. Beautifully remodeled, clean, welcoming and comfortable waiting area / front desk. New owners, new and familiar faces, but still a hidden gem for tire and automotive repair needs.

Needed my truck inspected, walked in at 4:15, Kelli greeted me when I opened the door. Got all my information and keys. I was finished by 4:35. Clean comfortable reception area. Since I am 65yo, their policy was No Charge for the state inspection, I was shocked! She says it’s the owners wishes. Wanted $295.35 for a diagnostic check, did not let me know it would be this expensive and refused to give the car back until I paid it. I'm a college student, this amount of money will affect me! Most places do this for free? If i had known this is what they would've charged me for i would've not let them do it.They wanted 1500 dollars to get brake pads fixed and rotories l found a place that will do it for less than 1000. Price gouging and scummy behavior. Edit: manager Manuel got back to me after making this review. He was on top of things and refunded me the amount I was overcharged with. I'm still disappointed it happened, as it caused a lot of stress, but I'm happy my concerns were not dismissed. I felt like staff was very unprofessional for trying to charge me this way. I probably won't come back, but I'm glad it was taken care of respectfully and diligently by the manager.

Did two state inspections in the same day. Both cars were in and out very quickly. Great service at the front desk. Friendly and professional. The interior of the lobby has been refurbished. Received a flier in the mail and never heard of this shop before. My wife’s car was needing an oil change and tire rotation so I decided to stop in and give it a shot. First impression, the facility is harder to find as it’s behind Kingwood drive. It’s near the garden center. Nice facility and super friendly staff. Bonus they have coffee, water and snacks along with really comfy chairs and a digital juke box. Overall a great experience and will use them going forward for my auto maintenance on my cars. They’ve been around for 40 years and I can see why they’ve been around for as long as they have. Highly recommend

This was my first visit. My oil change was done pretty quickly. While waiting I was offered a variety of beverages and a very nice area to hang out with Tv, WIfi, etc. It was a sunny day so they opened up the umbrella at the picnic table in the garden so I could enjoy the day. They did a fantastic job, were very nice, and gained my loyalty.

Got their 40th anniversary mailer ad for a free state inspection and to our complete shock it was no gimmicks, legit free without other purchase required! They were very friendly, and super quick. Even though there were a ton of cars there my husband and I barely had time to run to the nursery nextdoor for a few herbs when they called saying it was ready. They noted our car was nearing it's 30k mileage needed services and kindly listed the services and their prices for us on the invoice so we could schedule when ready and know exactly how much it would be already (and they're way cheaper than the dealership, I'll tell you that!). They have comfortable seating in their clean lobby with electric fireplace, and the seating even has fold out laptop tables if you want to wait there but need to get a little work done. They also offer complimentary coffee, drinks, and snacks, as well as both dog AND cat treats! Anyways, we will definitely be giving them our business in the future!!! Keep up the great work!

Our whole family has been coming to this location since I was in High School (I graduated in 1985). We always have known we could trust everyone here- and the work would be top notch. Now since Eddie has retired and a new owner has bought the store- I have to admit, I was a little hesitant. Don’t be! They couldn't get my part in for a few days so I took my car and they called me when it came in. I think it took about 1 1/2 hrs to finish. Very efficient! I'm so glad I tried out the new owners. Front desk interactions are so much better now! Thanks for fixing my car and I'll be back! Edited to say that the management addressed the issue, after my review brought it to her attention. I actually thought I had been dealing with management at the shop so I'm glad to see she jumped on the issue once she became aware of it. I've been reimbursed and amends have been made. I'm bringing up my review from a one to a three star, because I appreciate the effort. Thank you! I have had two bad experiences here. First time I got yelled at by the older man when I called back to ask them why they didn't check my battery. I had an oil change and apparently they use another mechanic for checking the battery and they didn't have time. Fine. It was miscommunication, but to yell at me? I let it slide and took it back for what I thought was a windshield wiper fluid leak. It was all over the car and the top looked cracked to me. They had to order a part. When I went to pick up my car they told me that the mechanic said he didn't see a crack after he replaced it. So the mechanic never checked it, but just replaced it. There was still a fluid leak which the lady up front, kindly said they would figure out. She knew they were in the wrong. When they discovered the leak they called back asking if I wanted them to fix it and if I didn't I would still have to pay for the part that shouldn't have been installed. It sounded like a threat to me. I went ahead and had them fix it because, it needed to be fixed and I didn't have $200 to pay for something that I didn't need. When I picked up my car I was in a hurry to get my son so didn't check the receipt until I left. They STILL charged me for the unnecessary part. I'm not sure if they charged labor on that or not. I was so upset on their negligence that I couldn't even talk to them about it. I felt like they totally took advantage of me and they weren't being responsible for their mistake. $200 is a lot of money to a single mom working two jobs. I felt totally taken advantage of and felt like they didn't care. Small businesses should care! I run a small business. When I make a mistake I make sure my customers don't pay for it. I fix it until they are happy. They did not care! I was really hopeful about this place because it is so conveniently located. But they were completely negligent!!! I hate having to write a bad review, but this one was earned by them.

We purchased new cars a few years ago so haven't needed any repairs but recently the windshield washer pump quit working so I took it in to get fixed. They discovered the pump was defective, possibly damaged by the bad freeze a year before and it just fell apart from use. They fixed it and the price was very fair for the work performed.

All too often, people only comment when they receive bad service and rightfully so. However, that was NOT my experience with Kingwood Tire and Auto. Another shop in town had tried to take us to the cleaners. We didn't feel right about it and so we brought our vehicle here. From the very beginning, we received excellent service. They took our vehicle on short notice and looked at it that same day. They checked our vehicle from head light to tail light and everywhere in between addressing all of our concerns. Thought I would need an alignment as well since it was veering off a bit. Waited a bit and was told my alignment was fine and just needed balancing. I have been using this shop for 5 years now. I have found them to be extremely honest. Also, they do not try and up sell. Some examples of their great service include: they will perform after market warranty work, they have advised me when they cannot perform a service and I will have to take it to a dealer (key proximity sensor failure), diagnosed a clicking sound in a fan after two dealers could not figure it out (then got it covered by warranty), and many more. I brought my truck in for repair only to be told that after spending hours looking at everything, they were not able to find an issue. After taking my vehicle to a well known reputable Auto Mechanic Shop with good reviews, I was left disappointed after the shop kept my vehicle for a day and a half. After explaining to this shop that I live an hour and a half away and did not have other means of transportation. They called me at 4pm on Friday to let me know that they could not repair my car until Monday (the shop is closed on weekends). I took it to Kingwood Tire and Auto Service, placed a call on Friday, and was told to drop the vehicle as soon as they open the next day. My car was diagnosed to repair a water pump and a phone call was placed to approve the repair, scheduled, and was able to be picked up after being fixed 5hrs later. Kingwood Tire and Auto shop was on top of updating me on the current status of the car. I definitely will take my car here for future repairs Gina was very helpful and her shop and customer service is top notch.

5/6/23 update: came back for my routine oil change and realized I had a flat. As always service is amazing, they offered to install my spare tire, as soon as you come in there is always someone with a smile and willing to assist. I always recommend this place to everyone I know! I have been here a couple times and every time is great service and reasonable pricing. This is not the kind of place that will try to repair something that is not broken just to get your money. The just remodeled the office/waiting area and it looks better than ever. 100% recommend this place. Will be coming back for more services.

Very welcoming, while I was there another customer struggling to walk was approaching and one of the advisors met her at the door to open it for her in an effort to reduce her struggles. This a sign of customer service. I also like how their discussions with other vehicles were focused on what was wrong with the vehicles versus doing what the customer asked. They called a few customers to inform them the stated issue wasn't what was wrong, rather something else.
