It's been just over a year since I had the transmission rebuilt on my 1999 f-250 with 7.3L diesel. I had them do a mechanically upgraded pump and billet torque converter. So happy with there work! this thing pulls like a freight train! I mainly use this to pull a tandem axle trailer for my local business , but I also take trips across the country. I really couldn't be happier with the customer service and work they do. this is the place to get a quality rebuild on transmissions. Thank you so much for taking care of me! my lively hood relies on this truck working everyday and I wouldn't trust anyone else!!!!!

My wife and I were traveling from California to Missouri and got stranded in Albuquerque, NM. At first, had our vehicle towed to a Chevrolet dealership. After Chevrolet told us our transmission was on indefinite back order, my wife found Tranco. Ray and the crew immediately went into action, had our vehicle towed to their shop from Chevrolet and had our vehicle done in record time, 3 days. Got us back on the road again without any hassle or delay. Their professionalism, and expert craft of the technicians really went above and beyond. I would highly recommend Tranco to anyone any day. As a freelancer, my car is my life. When my transmission went out in May, I got a quote from Nissan to replace it, along with some other work. I thought that the quote was way too high, and just could not justifying paying that much to fix my Juke. I walked into Tranco at the recommendation of Carmax. From the time I stepped in the door, I knew I was in good hands. I asked for a verbal quote. Trancos quote was way less, and decided to place a down payment. All in all, total replacement with some added work on axels was $3000 less then Nissan. My car is running like it was when I bought it, and could not recommend this place any higher. Sean (Shawn) was incredibly nice and was able to answer every question I had. He was able to keep me informed during the entire process with pics and explanations of what they found. And what needed to be fixed. Every person who works there, was helpful and amazing at their job. The shop is the cleanest shop I have ever been into. I have added about 2000 miles since their work, and my car is still running perfectly. If you need a transmission service, only go to Tranco. They are the best in ABQ, by far.

Tranco is by far the best transmission shop in town. There is no other shop I would even consider doing business with. My only fear is that one day the owner Ray will decide to retire. I have been going to Tranco since the opened in 1995 and they have repaired multiple vehicles' transmissions and clutches for me and I have never had a problem. I have recommend them to family and friends that have done business with them ad been very happy. In all I have done business with them with approximately a dozen cars. Most recently I had them replace the clutch in my ford fiesta and like all my previous cars they did an exemplary job. They are fast, courteous, and very competitively priced. Ray the owner has built a very impressive business. They also have a shuttle that can take and pick you up from your work or home so you done have to arrange a ride. It's hard to find a quality business in town that is reliable time after time, so when you do you stick with them. At the end of the day I can not rave enough about them.

I had bought a re-built transmission from out of state, had it shipped here and these guys care of the rest. They are trustworthy, honest, and professional! My Mustang transmission is going strong! Highly recommend this place! They were very professional and got the job done within 2 days of me dropping my car off also they were cheaper than AAMCO and weren’t trying to oversell me on the prices so if you have any clutch/transmission problems then Tranco is the place you’re looking for!

My friend and I broke down and had to get our van towed to Albuquerque. We were referred to Tranco. We were very stressed and had no idea what was going on. Ray was so welcoming and reassuring, he explained everything and made sure everyone was on the same page. He was able to get a whole new transmission shipped and installed in only 2 days!!! Broke down late morning, had my car towed in, and even with a stacked schedule, they were able to order parts, do the repair, and have it ready for pickup later that same day! Excellent customer service, friendly, and really understanding - Shawn was a real pleasure to work with (rare these days) and after checking on what was needed let me know it would be a less expensive repair than previously thought. Will happily recommend Tranco to anyone needing transmission service.

I cannot say enough great things about this shop and the guys who work there. I was in the midst of driving across the country when it turned out my car needed a new transmission and Tranco came to the rescue. Keith and Ray were my main points of contact and who I dealt with. Not only did they put themselves in my shoes in regards to making sure I was able to get back on the road as soon as possible, they gave me suggestions on what hotels to stay in, restaurants to eat, and places to go. They kept in great communication in terms of timing estimates on when things were expected to be done and gave great details on their diagnosis of the issue and how they planned to fix everything. Our 2011 Chrysler Van had the transmission rebuilt here last Summer. The indicator light came on recently telling us we needed to replace the torque converter. Apparently that was some kind of a glitch, since the light did not remain on. Ray and Keith did a great job explaining that all they did was replace a solenoid on the torque converter. My wife's van continues running fine. I would recommend Tranco to anyone who wants reliable trustworthy transmission service done at a fair price! THANKS 👍

After getting an estimate for a repair from the dealer of over $1,000, I called Tranco and Keith said that he would be happy to diagnose it and have it towed to his business from the dealership. Highly recommend!! Can't recommend these guys enough! Finally, honest mechanics who truly care about fixing the issue at hand instead of just taking your money. I was told by my mechanic that my jeep needed a new transmission (just replaced it a few years ago so the warranty had just expired). Wasn't happy with the place I've been taking my vehicles to for years as the quality of service has gone downhill drastically. Had taken my jeep in twice within 2 weeks for the same computer issue that they never did repair. I decided to take it into a transmission specialty repair place since I only experienced more problems every time I took my vehicle into the shop. Ray at Tranco spent a lot of time looking things over thoroughly and advised me that it did not need a new transmission...confirmed that it was indeed an issue with the computer AGAIN that was supposedly just "fixed" for the second time that week at the other place! Glad I didn't pay my mechanic another dime for terrible work and take his word for it that it needed a new transmission. Would've cost me thousands of dollars, more than the vehicle is worth!! Tranco values their customers and really do care. Thank you guys for your honesty and for going above and beyond!!!

Everyone here is great at what they do. I was in the middle of a move when my transmission went out and left me stranded in NM. The local dealership told me I’d have to quarantine for 14 days in order to come in and have my car looked at😂. TRANCO got my car in ASAP and took care of everything while I continued on with my move. I flew in to get the car when it was done and everything went on without a hitch. Ray and Keith are class acts, honest and a pleasure to deal with. They made a terrible experience as good as it could have been.

Well my Jeep Liberty isn’t ready yet. But I didn’t expect such fast results. It was my fault that I thought it would be next week I get the results. So Friday I should of called them. This shop embodies the professionalism and integrity you would expect from a classic establishment. Took my wife's vehicle there for some possible warranty work after a remanufactured transmission install (slight seal leak). When unsure if the leak was due to normal age or Tranco's installation, the shop erred in MY favor, and even replaced an extra seal to make sure. Great shop, great customer service. Will continue to have my support and business. Can't go wrong with these guys. 4.8 starts says it all. Seriously, what automotive shop has 4.8 stars?! There's a good reason.

This place is great! My car had a transmission leak issue. Reading the reviews, Tranco sounded good. I called, spoke with Ray. He informed me the next opening was approximately three weeks out. I was good with that. I arrived on the appointment date and found the lot full. They’re busy. Good sign. After dropping off my car in the morning, I received a call a bit later. Ray explained what needed to be done and gave me an estimate. I was expecting the news to be worse. It wasn’t. They kept my car a few days. I picked it up and couldn’t be happier with the work. Very fair price. These guys are the best in town. Thank you Tranco. Thank you Ray.

We had the transmission fail on our Sprinter Chassis RV while outside of Gallup. We had it towed to the only truck repair shop in Gallup who told us that they could fix it, only to tell us later that they did not have to proper tools to do the job. We called some shops that work on Sprinters in Albuquerque who referred us to Ray and his staff at Tranco. After talking to Ray on the phone, we had the RV towed to Tranco from Gallup. Our situation was a little complicated since the transmission that failed was still under warranty from another business. Of course, that business was looking for any excuse not to honor their warranty. After diagnosing the failure, Ray had to spend much additional time proving to this company that the failure was legitimate and the warranty should be honored, which they eventually did. A replacement transmission was shipped to Tranco from the company and they had it installed the following week at a very reasonable price. Not many shops in this business would go out of their way to help a customer out in a situation like this, but Tranco did and this speaks volumes for their integrity and customer service. Not only that, Ray was able to help us safely store our motorcycle and bicycles that we had on the RV until we could get back to pick it up. He also provided transportation to a car rental agency so we could get home to Georgia and a ride to Tranco from the airport when the RV was ready to be picked up. Obviously, we would recommend Tranco to anyone needing transmission work in the Albuquerque area. They definitely went above and beyond the call of duty in our case.

This was an ... unusually good experience. Thought I had a transmission issue (vibrating rattle), but they found it was an exhaust issue, brought it to a different shop, had it fixed - and didn't charge me anything. I'm not saying that you should expect free services (I certainly didn't), but the fact they were willing to invest in a relationship with a new customer means I'm going to be giving them first crack at all my future transmission work. Also found them to be professional, friendly and courteous. Nice work, gentlemen.

Highly Recommend! Asked McKinney Motors (also highly recommend!) for a recommendation for what we thought was a transmission issue. They were able to get us in very quickly, diagnosed the issue immediately, and repaired our vehicle within an hour. Ray figured out the diagnosis in the first minute of the test drive! The last 2 times we went to the local Toyota dealership I was told that the vehicle was "unsafe to drive". In January 2018 a repair estimate of over 2k for "leaking power steering", and on 2/28/18 was told by the dealership to replace the ball joints ($1,700+) plus another $3,500 in "cautionary repairs". In both cases we went elsewhere to determine those diagnoses were not correct. Now that we have found both Tranco & McKinney motors, we will never return to the very dishonest dealership. We will recommend Tranco (& McKinney Motors) to all our friends & family, and I would like to thanks Ray & Rob both for everything they did today! It is wonderful to have found such an knowledgable, honest & trustworthy company. Thanks Tranco!

We've always taken any type of transmission work to Tranco and they have always been very helpful and honest with their work and prices. We own a Ford Explorer which are known for transmission problems and once it went out we took it to Tranco and they fixed it right away and give a great warranty on their work as well. The ability to trust a business these days is rare. The owner of Tranco, Ray, and his team earned my trust and appreciation for their repair to my 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser. I was told by another mechanic that I needed a new transmission: $3,846. I called Ray and shared my concerns, he said bring it in for a diagnostic. His team texted a complete diagnostic with photos of my vehicles issues from minor to urgent. They repaired it that same day in 3.5 hours and charged me about an eighth of what my mechanic quoted. It turned out I didn't need a new transmission at all. Drove the vehicle the next day from Albuquerque to Taos and everything runs great. Very grateful to Tranco and highly recommended their services.

My review is about the good customer service I received at Tranco. I went in not knowing if my problem was with the engine or the transmission. Trendco did a thorough inspection and even replaced some fluid without charging me. They took a test drive with me even when they were busy and they were able to rule out that it was the transmission. Even though they did not do work on my car I'm reassured that I need to check with an engine specialist at this point. Sometimes it's just as important to know what the problem is NOT, as knowing what the problem is. I found Tranco to be professional and honest. They could have said I needed some type of work when I didn't. In contrast, they spent a lot of time and did a thorough job ruling things out, without charging me a penny. If I ever needed transmission work I would go back.

This place is amazing. Would recommend 100%. Had a rebuild 2 years and 1 month. It had a 2 year warranty. Anyone else would not honor the expired warranty. Ray did, they fixed transmission and even fixed a problem with air conditioner and only charged for the part. Saved me a bunch of money. Suggest any ladies that don't know where to go to take their transmission or drive train problems to Tranco. They definitely are very honest.

I was having issues shifting in first gear & was recommended to go to Tranco to check out the possibility it was the transmission. Rob and the crew ran a diagnostic & did a few road trips and determined it had to be the clutch and to take it back to my general mechanic. These guy's are fast, professional and everyone was kind and helpful! They did not even charge for the diagnostic/services!! I would highly recommend them & will definitely use them in the future if I have any transmission needs!

I recently had these guys do a clutch for me in an early 70's foreign truck. Many shops wouldn't even touch the truck due to it's age, but these guys had no issue. I sourced the parts myself as this is a hard truck to get parts for other than specialty online retailers. Again, most shops wouldn't do this, but they did. Price was more than fair. After 2 weeks there was an issue with the throw out bearing. It turns out the install created the problem in that it was just slightly out of adjustment. They dropped the transmission again and put a replacemnt in, despite not providing the parts origiannly. Most shops wouldn't have done this. Their sign says "We fix it right. We guarantee it"...They did. In this day and age of impersonal corporate shops everywhere, I highly recommend them. They will do right by the customer. Great people over there! Thx Keith and Ray

Top notch! Our XJ had an issue where it was next to impossible to shift after driving for 10 minutes, we thought the transmission was done for. Tranco diagnosed and fixed the issue. Now the Jeep shifts smoother than it ever has during our ownership. In the past two weeks we’ve driven it as much as possible and have had no issues. Great business!

So far so good! Tranco had to rebuild my entire transmission. They did it in no time and the price was pretty good for such a big ticket item. It now has a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty and it drives like brand new. I would certainly recommend Tranco for any of your transmission needs.

Recently my manual transmission failed on the way home after 204,400 miles. I called my primary auto care technician (PACT) and told him what was happening and if I could have my car towed in to his shop. He informed me that he was swamped for quite a while. I asked him for a reference for a transmission shop, and with no hesitation, he recommended Tranco. I found out later that my PACT sends his personal automatic transmission work to Tranco. Now, if Tranco is good enough for my PACT, it’s good for me. They not only got my truck back on the road quickly, but they also gave me some education and tips to keep my transmission healthy. I knew that the hydraulics uses Dot 3 brake fluid, but it never occurred to me I should have it flushed on a schedule. Tranco could have done that for me. If I did, I would have saved the slave cylinder. Tranco is happy to rebuild or repair a transmission, but they also do maintenance. It’s better to have the transmission serviced on a schedule than to have it breakdown and rebuilt. Overall, I know where to take my vehicles for my transmission needs.

Tranco has always been helpful and done a great job rebuilding a few transmissions for me. They have always operated with total integrity and they have great customer service. One time after having a transmission rebuilt I drove through a lot of slush in the east mountains in the evening, then it froze solid. I didn't think about it at the time but the next morning the transmission would barely shift so I brought it back to them. They brought it in immediately and ran some checks only to discover the abundance of ice was preventing the linkage from working properly. They melted the ice washed it off and gave it back free of charge without complaint and were happy to do it. I've watched them honor their warranty as well. This is my shop for transmissions. I highly recommend them.

Having taken my Rav4 to Tranco recently (June 2020) with a very difficult repair I found them to be extremely experienced, hard-working, and ethical. Ray has been repairing transmissions since the 70's and another of his managers (sorry, dude, forgot your name) has been doing this since the 80's. These guys know transmissions inside and out and backwards. Add to that their high ethical standards to which they adhere and you could not ask for a finer transmission shop to go to. I highly recommend Tranco as an honest transmission shop with great customer service. I brought my car in with a slipping first gear and they found a simple fix with a new filter -- at no charge as a previous customer! A less-than-reputable place could have included unnecessary repairs and even an expensive rebuild, but they diagnosed the problem and fixed in in an afternoon. I rarely write reviews, but was so impressed I wanted to take the time to provide this feedback.

First off, walking into the facility it is clean and well kept. Keith and Ray both were enthusiastic about assisting and providing fast free estimates of what my transmission issue could be. Colleagues and friends told me expect to spend between 1500 and 2500.00 to fix my transmission since my truck wouldn't go into reverse. Keith explained in great detail what the possible issue could be and gave me the best case and worst case scenario. Turns out the issue was a reverse piston and the transmission DID NOT need to be replaced. They could have told me that I needed a new transmission, and I would have believed them, but because they are an honest locally owned establishment depending on reputation instead of profits; they were honest and saved me a lot of money. Thank you guys for being an honest, customer service oriented establishment. I would drive 100 miles to bring my truck back to TRANCO if I needed more service. Luckily I live 8 miles away.

BEST AUTOMOTIVE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE HANDS DOWN! I just got home to Dallas from a mission trip to ABQ. The first night we were there my car DIED at a very busy, scary intersection. I was towed to Pep Boys even though there was ample reason to suspect transmission problems. Pep Boys was terrible and said that my car was fine. After calling my auto shop in Dallas for advise I looked up transmission shops based on solid good reviews and found Tranco. They agreed to work me in on Wed very first thing. When I got to Pep Boys Monday night to pick up my "driveable " car I was informed my transmission was shot like I suspected. Having already wasted 2 days with Pep Boys I had my car towed to Tranco. They called me by 7:30am Tuesday with preliminary diagnostic info even though my appt wasnt for another day. They knew I had a deadline to travel back to Dallas and worked tirelessly to get my car ready in time. By lunch Thursday it was ready but they had unearthed an unrelated AC problem. THEY drove my car to have it checked out by a different repair shop and called me with the verdict! While they aren't AC guys and ultimately couldn't repair the AC they offered to bring my car to the sight of the mission trip for me and called me the next day to make sure I had made it home safely. Never in my life have I experienced such consistently thoughtful customer service ANYWHERE! They were so knowledgeable and genuinely cared about not only getting the customer the most reasonable deal, they understood the importance of my getting home and clearly placed the needs of the customer over the bottom line. My wife’s car had a transmission light on and was not shifting properly . We picked Tranco based on some of the reviews . They took the car and inspected it during the day. When I picked up the car in the afternoon, they let me know there was an electrical issue near the battery and that the problem I was having seemed to be intermittent so it was difficult to diagnose 100%. They actually repaired the exposed wires and gave me an estimate on what might be broken in case the problem persisted. As it turns out the electrical repair fixed the problem and I wasn’t charged a dime . In this day and age that type of customer service almost doesn’t exist and I can guarantee that when I do have a transmission problem I will be back to that shop, thank you guys !

When I purchased my 09 Nissan back in March, I ran into some car problems. Initially I thought it had to do with the engine. But after two dealerships and four months later, I was told my car had unknown problems with the transmission that was pre-existing. I brought my Element in for some intermittent shifting issues, and Tranco offered a complimentary diagnostic. While I was sure I needed a very expensive part, the guys there took my car for 5 test drives over the course of 24 hours (since it's an extra car, I dropped it off and gave them plenty of time) they couldn't find any issues that warranted any concern. After a few phone calls and a lovely talk picking up my car, they assured me that nothing was in need of replacement, especially since they took it for so many drives and the issue I reported appeared once. Since the issue could be several different things, they advised to keep an eye on it, and if anything changed, to give them a call, and the car is completely safe to drive until then. The gentlemen here are so honest and trustworthy, the shop is clean, they communicate clearly, and didn't try to pull one over on me all while giving me peace of mind that my car is in no immediate need of service. They even have a network of other shops in the area in case you need another trustworthy mechanic for issues outside of transmissions! Highly recommend Tranco for transmission rebuild and servicing. They did a complete transmission rebuild on my 01 Dodge conversion van. Minor issue afterward with a pan gasket leak but Rob, Ray, and the service techs corrected the issue replacing the leaking standard new gasket with a higher quality higher cost gasket at no charge. The van drives like new now with gas mileage improving from 10 to almost 14 mpg highway. 2000 miles since and still running like a champ. Great crew there that has your back. Thanks Tranco!

An addition to my first review in December of 2018...it is now the middle of March, 2019, and finally, after many weeks of persistence and stubbornness on my part, and total cooperation from Tranco - whenever I called them to supply, again, another email of their photos and video and verbal or written support to my insurance claim (for undisclosed damage to the front differential in an icy accident in Minnesota at the end of 2012), my insurance company is going to cover Tranco's excellent work done for my car, a 2006 Pontiac Vibe. It drives like a dream and I cannot proclaim enough how great Tranco is! 5-stars again! Thank you so much! My brother, a diesel mechanic in Dallas, TX helped me find this shop online. Tranco met most of his specific requirements for what he and I thought was a serious problem with the transmission. It turned out that the differential had to be replaced in my 2006 Pontiac Vibe, and finding it was difficult, because since 2009, GM no longer manufactures the Pontiac brand and GM dealers no longer carry Pontiac parts. BUT, Tranco did find one by calling parts shops all over the country, and finally in Wisconsin, they found my differential in a vintage part shop! This in itself was amazing to me! After I brought my car in, Tranco conducted a thorough diagnostic analysis, inside and outside, and I was told that the rest of my car is in great shape. Looking at the differential, the technician also believed that the differential finally gave up the ghost, after being originally damaged in a car accident my daughter had in late 2012. He encouraged me to contact State Farm and have them send a claims adjuster, so that he could explain his reasoning about the type of damage he found, and why it should be considered a reasonable claim for coverage. The differential had a very visible crack on the inside and the damage had worsened over the last 6 years, finally giving way and leaking all of the transmission fluid. The technician and Tranco shop were astonished to hear that the adjuster's initial report claimed that it was rear differential with normal wear and tear. My car only has front-end drive, folks. Tranco is going to bat for me and will be sending in supplemental notes of disagreement with the adjuster and they'll explain their full findings to the State Farm claim department, itself. Meanwhile, I have a new used car and it's running magnificently! As a single woman, I sought out my brother's long-distance advice, worrying about how I might be treated and wanting to know how to look for a good shop. The shop stood out to him because of it reviews and that it looked very clean and organized, which shouted to him of its self-respect and professionalism. They kept in touch with my brother, too, through the whole process. I feel like I have definitely been treated fairly and respectfully and highly recommend this excellent company, Tranco of Albuquerque, on Eubank and Menaul!

I don't know if you have witnessed other shops in the Albuquerque metro, but this was my third stop. The folks at Tranco were fantastic! Our manual clutch and transmission were having problems an hour or two drive time from Albuquerque. We brought the truck in Monday morning with no appointment, they had diagnosed that morning, sent photographs of what they found that afternoon. The next morning they physically showed us what they found, parts ordered, and back on the road by 2:00 the following day. Thank you Tranco!!

Reality 1

The staff at Tranco does a super job. We are not car people and have two early 90s Mitsubishi Diamantes, a sedan and wagon. Both vehicles have given us very good service over the years. The sedan required service for a shifting issue approximately five years ago and Tranco expertly resolved the issues and the car is still running wonderfully. 2 1/2 weeks ago the wagon began having transmission issues. The overdrive clutch would not engage. Additionally the first three gears displayed uneven shifting and sometimes clunking and dropping into gear harshly. Though parts are very difficult to come by for this model car and locating a rebuilt transmission is near impossible, Ray and his staff did a superb job in rebuilding the overdrive clutch and also rebuilding the valve body which was causing the additional attendant problems in the first three years. The car now drives exceptionally well, and we are happy to be able to keep it for a few more years. Hats off to Ray and the staff at Tranco Transmissions for their professionalism and excellent customer service for making this happen for us. It is very much appreciated!!! We highly recommend them.

Had my normal mechanic replace my CV joints and replace transmission fluid. Immediately afterwards my car started shaking violently between 35-45 mph. I took the car back to my mechanics where the diagnosed that the side bearings in my car were bad and that I would need a new transmission ~$3600. Seemed odd that car didn't shake before CV joints got replaced. I took my car to Ray at TRANCO. Here drive my car and told me that he was 90% sure it was a torsion issue CV joints. I told him to look at it. After inspection, he still thought it was torsion. I told him to replace both CV joints. After installation, the shakes were gone! Most honest and experienced mechanic I've ever come across! Go to TRANCO!!

First off, I have been very lucky to never have had to take my car into the shop, until now. SO I didn't know where to even start. I read reviews, asked around, was pointed in a million different directions until I was referred by another mechanics shop to go to Tranco. I called up and talked to Rob, explained how my 07 Toyota FJ started jumping as it shifted gears until finally it stopped shifting completely from 2nd to 3rd gear, on the freeway of course, and then a whole row of lights lite up my dashboard. Autozone diagnosed that my Pressure Control Solenoid was done and needed to be replaced. So I'm sure like anyone else, I hear transmission and automatically think $$$$$. Rob assured me they could run further diagnostics, just to give him 2-4 hours to run some tests for a free diagnostic service. I took my FJ in the next morning, and within an hour and a half, Rob was calling me just to give me updates on their initial findings. My transmission fluid was 2 qts low, with no visible leaks. He said they would look further into it, but wanted to let me know (which I absolutely love being kept in the loop, and not having to wonder). Within the next couple hours he was calling me again letting me know that not only was transmission fluid low, but engine fluid was 2 qts high. So after fixing the fluid levels, they ran it, test drove it and everything was running perfectly. I went to pick it up, very excited it wasn't something extremely serious, (I mean it could have been if I hadn't have taken care of it promptly). I was expecting to pay for the fluids, but Rob said it was on them. This shop is the place to go. Not because they gave me free fluid, but because the whole experience. They know what they are doing, and they won't try to up sell you. I will definitely go back for any future needs. Thanks Rob and Staff.

This last transmission service on my 210,000 mile Toyota 4Runner had me a bit concerned due to the high mileage and the dreaded rumble strip vibration they are prone to. But a simple drain and fill and the addition of Dr. Tranny Shutter Fixx and it's already shifting smoothly and the rumble strip vibration is almost gone. I knew I was working with a quality person when I took my 1965 Mustang for a diagnostic ride with Ray, the owner. After listening to the noises that it was making, he said he was fairly sure that he knew what the problem was. Then, he asked how the transmission was working, in general. After I told him it seemed to be working fine, except for the noise, he suggested that we NOT open up the transmission - he said old transmissions like mine were best left intact, if possible, instead of just adding new parts. This impressed me quite a bit, as he could have charged me lots more by opening it up , looking around and just exploring. Instead, he looked at the flywheel and dealt with a problem that was causing it to contact part of the bell housing, thus making the noise. And he (and his folks) even made quite an effort - successfully - to save me money by working with the existing bell housing instead of simply getting a new one. Bottom line - the noise is gone, Ray was courteous and very helpful, the price was very reasonable, and I'm very happy. You go, Ray, and good luck with Tranco - you're doing good work.

I would like to thank you for your help recently with the transmission to my 2006 Ford Explorer, which was replace at 60,000 miles. The Ford Dealership in Wake Forest, NC noticed the my transmission was leaking after about 30,000 miles after it was rebuilt by Tranco. Unfortunately, I could not take it to Tranco to get it fixed under warranty, because I was in North Carolina. I contacted Ray, who is the owner of Tranco and he put me in contact with a place locally Mike's Transmission of Durham, who could take care of the repairs. My transmission required a new Torque Converter and Tranco to my surprise paid for all the parts and half the labor. Making a expensive repair into an inexpensive one.
