This past Fall, I moved into a place that I didn't know had a roach problem. I started to see one one or two, sometimes more, per day in the sinks, on the counter -- they even started to crawl into my fridge. I did a quick 30 minute consultation with David to hear what my options were. He asked me questions about the situation for five or ten minutes, then he told me exactly what to document, what to say to my landlords, and when to leave. I was worried about breaking the lease I had, but David assured me I was legally in the right. I did exactly as he said, and about two weeks later, I left. Mr. Payab is a real caring person who actually cares about us. We asked him if we should sue in small claims or full on in court and he suggested we do small claims because our lawyer fees would be really low - lawyers aren't allowed to represent people in small claims. He said the lawyer fees for a full lawsuit would be way more than the compensation we'd get. If this was another lawyer he'd probably try to convince us of filing a lawsuit because he'd make so much money, but not Mr. Payab. He also has been incredibly generous by answering quick questions after our consultations with him, which he did not charge us for. Last year, I ran into some unfortunate fraudulent, online businesses, which attempted to take $1,500 of my money on a technicality. Mr. Payab gave me direct and reasonably priced counseling that resulted in these businesses mailing me my money back. As a lawyer, he knew exactly what I needed to put the ball back into my court. This advice resulted in me getting the money back that I never thought I would see again. As a communicator, he easily takes complicated subject matter and gives you the key points in layman's terms. After this case, a friend of mine received a DUI, and I thought I'd pay-it-forward by giving Mr. Payab the recommendation. With his help I have already recovered some of my deposit and it is likely that I will recover almost the full deposit after going to court.
