I highly recommend this firm, and I had only very positive experiences working with Scott Lewis' Law Office -- his wonderful staff and Mr. Lewis himself -- during the two years I was going through the SSDI application process 2020-22. *** I was treated with respect and compassion at all times which I just can't emphasize enough how important this is. They answered all my questions and provided me with the roadmap of what to expect ahead. I felt adequately prepared for the day of the phone hearing and felt well-informed and supported throughout the whole process. The advice provided about deciding which type of hearing to request/accept was on point. That in addition to everything else ultimately helped me with getting the earliest possible resolution to the process and thankfully an SSDI approval after the first hearing. ***Mr. Lewis' firm was recommended to me by my partner who is also an attorney (in an unrelated field) so I had the privilege going into making a decision on which firm to consult with already having some level of confidence and trust in their expertise, experience, compassion, etc. By the point I received his recommendation I already had one problematic initial consult with a different firm who had no knowledge of or experience working with clients with EDS (and all the comorbidities that contributed to my disability), or even clients under the age of 40 with illnesses like mine that do no have overtly visible presentations (aka "invisible illnesses"). However, I was thrilled to find that Mr. Lewis' office already had experience working with clients similar to myself so I felt I was able to ease my anxiety a bit further going into the SSDI application process.

I contacted Scott D Lewis office after carefully looking for an office that could articulate my disabilities if needed. I was denied twice before. This third time I hire Scott’s law firm and was denied both during the initial and reconsideration. Oct 3, 2019 went before a judge. The judge gave me a full favorable decision. However, I just found out today of the favorable decision. Every single time I called whom ever I talked to were empathetic, caring, professional, and this law firm honestly have a heart for each client they deal with. If the judge had denied my claim it would not have affected this review I am giving. Please tell your friends, family, co-workers, or anyone you come in contact with who needs a thorough law firm. Scott won my Social Security disability claim in 2016 I believe. I now want to hire him to appeal the VA decision that granted me 30%. I ended up losing really because it took away the granted amount by VA from my military pension. If I were granted 50% I would be able to keep both. I have other issues they did not test or look into. I want Scott Lewis to take my case for a VA Disability Appeal.

There was no tv commercial hype that lead me to contact Scott D Lewis' office about my disability concern, it was a friend who told me "Social Security Disability is what his office specialize in and you need to realize something, you have a serious disability." I had a back surgery that had a horrible outcome leaving me in continual pain and greater difficulty mobilizing then before. I thought this was just something I was going to have to live with. I had a very successful 27 year career. Problems from my surgery reduced my stamina and gave me mobility limitations. I am so grateful that Scott D Lewis' office obtained medical statements from my surgeons which helped explain the traumatic outcome of my procedure. They contacted several of my doctors and surgeons and obtained numerous medical records to present my major complications to the judge. I sat in front of the Judge and spoke to him while he reviewed the records Lewis' office obtained. These reports and doctor testimonies explained my issues better then I could, yet I still spent several minutes, well prepared relaxed answering all the questions asked by the judge. I would trade anything to have the better mobility I had years ago, but to now receive Medicare and monthly payments - makes this pain considerably more bearable and takes away a huge financial debacle I was certainly going to fall into. My hearing was on July 20th of 2017, and Scott and I won it. One and done as they say. I’ve had many people ask me if having a lawyer is worth it. I have to say, OH HELL YES to that question. It is a VERY slow process to get to the hearing level. Why would anyone want to go into the hearing without being as well armed as possible? The statistics bear out that more people win their hearing with lawyers, than those without. Not to mention there was a whole lot of paperwork in my file at the end of the hearing, and I did not place it there. So the 2 years you’re waiting for a hearing, it may not seem like your lawyer isn’t doing anything; believe me, he is. So now that I’ve convinced you that you need a lawyer; why hire Scott? Scott truly knows the system. We had a very thorough consultation a few days before the hearing, and Scott completely changed my perception of what was important and what wasn’t. I had practiced explaining the facts of my disability for months, and Scott boiled it down to just a couple salient points. It was, in my opinion, a crucial step towards winning my hearing. Another good reason to hire Scott, is because of the amazing rapport he has with everyone in the offices where the hearings are held. It was obvious he is well liked, and respected, by everyone there. I know exactly what you’re going through right now. I have been there. Having a lawyer will help ease the anxiety. It is a VERY lengthy process in which you have to be patient, as the wheels of justice turn very slowly in this case.
