When we had a very unexpected and false accusation come out of nowhere against one of my children I didn't know what to do. I started by googling best criminals defense lawyers in Columbus, OH and the Joslyn Law Firm was at the top of the list. I was immediately impressed by the easy to navigate website and by all the information available on their site. I called the office that very day expecting to leave a voicemail as it was a Sunday. However to my surprise the call was answered. They took my info and said they would let Mr. Joslyn know. I expected a call later in the week and again to my surprise Mr. Joslyn took time out of his weekend to call me that very Sunday! I was immediately impressed that he even called outside of normal working hours. After talking with him I was 100% sure I had made the right decision to contact the Joslyn Law Firm. He took the time to talk everything over with me and set an office appointment up that day as well. I felt like myself and my son were in very good hands and indeed we were. Throughout the course of this whole situation we were treated like their most important client. The amount of professionalism, intelligence, knowledge of the law, and the personal care that Mr Joslyn and his entire team showed us throughout all of this was amazing. They took the time to answer any phone calls I had, any questions and concerns I had, and showed tremendous personal care about my son throughout this whole situation. I feel like it's not just a job to Mr. Joslyn and his team, I feel like they truly care and like I said I felt like we were considered their number one client which was an amazing thing considering how many clients the law office probably actually has at any given time. As impressed as I was at this point already that feeling only grew once we made it into the courtroom. Mr. Joslyn knows the law inside out. He's an extremely intelligent individual and he worked incredibly hard on our case even going so far as to give up his weekend time as he worked on our case. There are many times on the weekends where he was hard at work on our defense and he would contact us with questions which I was happily willing to answer. Personally I feel like I could have searched all of Ohio and not found a better attorney or law office to represent my son. From beginning to end my expectations were exceeded by how Mr. Joslyn and his team handled our case. If in the future I ever need the services of an attorney again I absolutely 100% with no doubt will contact Mr. Joslyn and the Joslyn Law Firm again. My experience with Joslyn Law Firm was nothing but top notch! I had a false accusation against me and even though I knew I was innocent, I wanted someone to guide me threw legal waters and pursue my innocence as virgoursly and as passionately as I felt. On a Friday night in early December, I was involved in an incident. On Saturday I stewed and stewed on what to do. Then I determined I needed an attorney to handle my situation. I Googled for attorney reviews specific to my case. I finally made my decision on which attorney to contact late Saturday afternoon. When I called I was connected to an answering service, who took my name and number, and assured me I would receive a call back. Since it was late Saturday, I assumed I wouldn’t receive a call until Monday. Not true! To my surprise and pleasure, at 10 AM on Sunday morning Brian Joselyn contacted me. I can’t commend Brian Joslyn enough. I had a CCW (carrying concealed weapon) from 2004. Upon signing up with the military my case was thrown out. I did not know that I received an indictment shortly before I was to leave for the Navy. I have been in Washington state since 2005, where I served honorably upon the USS Abraham Lincoln. So far, my experience with this law firm has been very positive. Would recommend this law firm to anyone facing any kind of charge regardless of your plea. I had a old charge from 2017 that I later found out was not resolved after a couple years later. After that first phone call I automatically knew he was the one to move forward with side by side in which became a LONG journey ahead with getting this resolved. After an entire year of hiring him (due to personal reasons) and getting all of my ducks in a row, I gave him the date I would be arriving. At that point, Mr. Shaffer and Mackenzie were able to add me on the docket for that day. When I arrived for my initial appearance, as well as my final court date, he was right there beside me from the very very beginning of me walking into the courthouse all the way through to filling out documents at the end. I was in a bit of hot water with the city of Upper Arlington. I installed a new driveway and the contractor I hired did not pull the proper permit. And the driveway exceeded the maximum width allowed. After trying to contact the contractor with out any success and not having complied in time to correct this issue I received a summons from the Upper Arlingtons mayors court. This matter had now escalated to a criminal matter. The last thing I wanted to do is go to court and possibly have a misdemeanor on my record over a driveway! Brian has represented me twice. Once for my initial charge in 2016 and was able to get an F2 charge with guaranteed jail time dropped to an F4 with community control probation. He was facing 3 felony charges and one misdemeanor. I was certain that he was going to have to go to jail. When telling Brian about the case I could tell how he was going to put his heart into helping us. Honestly you could see how much empathy he has for others. PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW... On a Saturday evening I left the Joslyn Law Firm a message, within less then a hour the owner had called me back. This was extremely impressive due to the fact the office was shut down due to the covid19 pandemic. My son was arrested for domestic violence on Thursday evening and I was so worried for his life being in jail with the virus problems. You see my son has a kidney disease and a bone disease. He has already had one kidney removed and the one left was not in the clear. The owner was so SERIOUSLY concerned and let me know it was important to him just as well. He told me Tamas Taber would get ahold of me and he would be the attorney to handle the case and assured me it would be handled. Never knew at that time that an attorney let alone the owner would be so compassionate and diligent on someone else's family legal problems. We ran into a problem of the bail hearing date, first being set for a Wednesday then moved to Monday then moved to Thursday; it was a mess. Sunday night late I found out the hearing was rescheduled for Thursday instead of Monday. I rushed to let the attorney know of the change and what he basically said was going anyways and THEY were already in route to the jail. Both attorneys. They not only addressed the hearing being moved around but was able to get the hearing done that morning. Not very many lawyers would had made that long trip for a hearing that was at the last minute cancelled and moved to another date but Joslyn Law Firm did and was not even a little bit upset; it was more like a "oh no you didn't" situation for them. Tamas Taber is an amazing attorney! If you call he calls you back really quick. This point is EXTREMELY important when it comes to picking a law firm as well as there American Bar scores. Tamas Taber was able to get my son's charges for domestic violence down to a M4 with suspended jail time. We jumped on that deal quick because as I am absolutely positive that he would have got the charges dismissed, I just did not want to take the chance and the waiting stress with my son and his health. M4 can be sealed later. 90% of all court hearings are give and take out comes. There is NO sure cut cases. But when you have an attorney that is tough as nails but also down to earth, compassionate, and caring that works in a law firm that the courts and judges recognize as pit bulls in the court room; that's when you KNOW your voice is going to be heard and they going to fight for you and treat you like family. I truly believe that Tamas Taber's actions may have possible saved my son's life. This is and will always be my families law firm for any of our legal needs and I will be very soon rehiring them for my son's child custody attorney.

Could not have expected a better outcome for my situation and I'm convinced it is because of the lawyer I was provided and maybe slightly my attitude toward the process. Mr. Shafer must really know what he is doing. My only complaints are not receiving notice of court dates from their office (Even after requesting them after a missed appearance. Receiving nothing from the court via mail was also the issue), and not getting return phone calls twice. I had to use the courts web portal to stay up to date. In spite of this, four stars for a successful venture.

When I first met Brian, I was at the beginning of a very serious crisis. My situation had broken me down completely. Spiritually and mentally. However, I was able to obtain confidence that I had someone with the knowledge and experience to help my legal matters, so I could focus on everything else that was within my control. Response time is a little slower than was hoping with all the good reviews. I like that I was kept informed but I feel like more could have been done with my husband’s case. He had multiple charges and was looking at going away for 30+ years.
