You need Evan Barrickman and his Awesome Team if your case is anything like mine: I retained Evan to help me in gaining custody of my son from an individual who concealed the fact that I had a child with her, then withheld my son from me after obtaining child support and then demoralized the image of my character at any chance she had, to anyone she could- to include my own family members and close friends. This individual used my son as leverage for monetary gain, and other manipulative reasons. Before the hearing- the other party retaliated to my complaint by using crazy false allegations against me in an attempt to claim DV and obtain an ex parte restraining order for stalking (it was denied), spread nasty and false depictions of me at my place of employment, and attempted to manipulate my co-workers, my ex, my current girlfriend, and even my own father against me through the use of subpoenas (they didn't even have involvement in my case). Then, during the hearing, the individual used a display of erratic and high emotions, combined with more extreme and bizarre false stories to further try to attack my character in attempts to stop me from gaining custody of my son. If this story sounds similar, then your success, your livelihood, and your emotional state needs Evan Barrickman and his Awesome Team. Evan took my case on and from the very beginning was very straightforward, honest, open, and had high integrity. I enjoyed knowing that Evan was very straight up about the outlook of the case, costs, timing, and always gave me options on what I could choose and do- which made me believe that he genuinely cared not only about my concerns, but about how my money was being best utilized. He always discussed information candidly and efficiently, and I never was confused in the entire process of where things stood, what was needed, and what was being worked on. When I first consulted with Evan he made no promises to me and given the awkward procedural issues in my custody case I dont blame him he did however say he would work as hard as he could to get me what i wanted and he did just that. I was able to retain Mr Barrickman as my attorney for a divorce in the middle of 2019. This case should have been concluded during mediation, but the Defendant was unreasonable to the offer. Spoiler alert, they should have taken it. Throughout the dynamic life that is working for the military, COVID, multiple court trials being delayed by the opposite side and child custody Evan had my back. I never felt he was I'll prepared for a trial, or that he was giving me what I wanted to hear. Evan was playing 4D chess while the other lawyer was playing checkers. He went above and beyond in researching rules that apply to military retirements child support and custody. Multiple times he brought up rules that many in the court had not heard of and backed it up, ultimately being allowed in court and substantially helping my case. At the conclusion of trials we won everything we were asking for except one small fee from the opposing party. Most importantly though was his persistent and bull dog approach to ensuring that my ex would not withhold the children from me when I was available to visit and when I was due a visitation, ultimately allowing me to have more than double the amount of time I was expecting based on previous cases. I will now be able to foster a healthy life with my children and am set up for if we ever live geographically again. If you want someone who can fight for you completely, will help secure what is rightfully yours and fight like his own kids are on the line. Pick Evan. For those on the fence due to being military and needing someone with military experience... Stop looking. Evan will either know it, or research it and start quoting regs at you.

I was referred to Evan by a friend in 2017 for my divorce I had been fighting for almost 3 years and was getting nowhere and worse yet, I had had very minimal contact with my two daughters in period of time. From day one I knew that things we’re going to change. Papers were filed dates set progress being made and the best part not long after we got started I got to see my girls on a regular bases. And the end of the divorce was finally over not to long after hiring Evan!! Evan had my back an never promised anything I didn’t get. He was very clear when explaining what an how and when things were going to happen. I had no surprises and things happened as Evan said they would. Fast forward to 2020 I found myself in a lawsuit by a guy trying to get legal access though my homestead I had know idea what was going to be involved and asked Evan to help. Even though this type of lawsuit was not his specialty he took me on as a client. I was referred to Evan through family members who are also lawyers and I’m so glad I did. I was in an ugly battle to establish Paternity and custody rights against an ex who was using my child to extort and manipulate me. Evan was able to immediately get the 50/50 custody I wanted and my paternity established within a couple weeks. I feel one of the most important things to consider about this review is that I am not from Anchorage, nor do I live in the state of Alaska. I had to handle my case roughly 4,000 miles away and I was nervous to say the least. I don't know many people in Anchorage so it wasn't like I could call around and ask friends if they knew anything about family law and take recommendations for lawyers. During one of the most stressful times in my life, I had to rely on google to lead me in the direction of a solid lawyer. I am so thankful that I didn't choose poorly. I cannot stress enough how happy I am with Evan's services. Truly. I called his office, completely unprepared to speak with a lawyer (because they usually don'y answer their own phones), and I told him all about my case. In the same conversation, he told me it would be complicated and that he couldn't guarantee an outcome (as they all say, but really, the outcome could've went either way), but that he would take the case. He worked for our winning outcome. The documents that he created were quality work that has received plenty of praise since. He is personable, communicates like a real person, and replies in a timely manner. He is a busy person, but you'd think he was only working for you with the way he discusses the case like it's his only priority. His efforts show through his work. Like I said before, the case was complicated. I remember going into the hearing and thinking, "no matter what happens, I'm glad I got to work with Evan because he really cared." We won. Highly recommend, Really Awesome guy. More often than not you hear about the stereotypical lawyer who cares about nothing more then getting paid, Evan couldn’t be farther from that stereotype. Me and my girlfriend are currently in a custody dispute and He was incredibly helpful over the phone and answered A lot of my questions before I even decided to schedule a consultation. It felt to me that he actually cared and listened to what I had to say even though he had no idea if I would actually be paying for any of his services. During the consultation you could tell that he was very knowledgeable. he answered every question we had, walked us through the whole process very professionally, and gave us a list of things we could do to improve our outcome. At the end of the one hour consultation neither me or my girlfriend felt that we had any questions left unanswered and we were both very happy with the information we received and felt that he really was trying to help us. I can honestly say I did not expect such a great and helpful experience meeting with a lawyer but I will definitely be using him in the future if ever needed and most definitely recommend him to anyone in need of a good lawyer.

I hired MR. Barrickman to represent me in a divorce with child support case from 11 years prior. It was complicated as many issues are. MR. Barrickman assured me he could help me and was confident a good arguement could be presented to help me. He was very upfront and honest about the whole proceedure.
