An amazing experience! Tonight, we walked the sacred Franciscan Center Labyrinth under the light of the Full Moon, guided by the beautiful voice of a Franciscan Sister. Sixty or so people walked with us, and for me, the experience brought clarity and bliss. The Labyrinth is available day and evening for anyone to walk it, and there was something quite special about walking it with others, listening to their footsteps as we followed our guide. After all were finished the walk, we each shared one word that captured our experience. I plan to do this guided walk every month under the full moon in 2021. I hope you'll consider joining us. It will bring peace and insights to your perspective on your current life's journey.

As St Francis is the patron saint of animals it seemed appropriate to bring our Leukemia stricken pal Lenny to visit. The staff were happy to meet him and we spent a couple hours on the lakeside manicured lawn reflecting on the brevity of life. Statues aren't the best coddlers of kittens but we gave it a shot.

For any group or individual looking for a peaceful, affordable place to get away for a few days of quiet reflection (and guidance/instruction if desired), the Franciscan Retreat Center in Tampa is an excellent option. Situated on a wooded site by the Hillsborough River, the Franciscan Center offers hospitality to people of all faiths in need of spiritual renewal. The rooms are simply furnished, dormitory style and meals are prepared on site for guests and served in the dining hall. There's no television, but wifi is available for those who must have it. The Franciscan sisters and staff who manage the Center were very welcoming and gracious throughout my stay.
