He showed my all my options, answered all my questions and then allowed me to make my own decision. All the crew over at Pictureline are amazing. They have taken care of me on 2 major projects including cameras, gear, lenses, bags, lights and more. And are my go to in a world where we buy most stuff online, but need knowledge and inventory when we need it. Kenny especially is one of the most knowledgeable camera experts I’ve ever worked with. He was helpful and shared the great analogies that make someone who isn’t a true camera expert understand why one product makes more sense than another. I prefer to give my money to local guys over the web no names when possible. And these guys are top of the list.

I wish I could give an endless amount of stars to this place. I do wedding videography and recently lost footage to an entire wedding filmed 4 hours away. I asked if they could have their tech check the SD card I had used and given back after renting one of their cameras and recover the missing files. Low and behold, they recovered EVERY single file. I am beyond impressed with the customer service I've received from them doing rentals, purchases etc. They are extremely responsive and quick to find solutions when you need them. I've been a loyal customer for 3 years in the industry and will continue coming back! Ignore any low reviews and walk in for yourself. I couldn't recommend them enough.

The employees at pictureline were so helpful!!! My friend and I came into the store the other day to pick up some 35mm film, which was fully in stock, and cheaper than most places. I had some issues with my light meter for my film camera and they were able to replace the battery and get it working again. They also helped my friend who was getting into film photography and help her understand how to use her new camera. I will be coming back to pictureline for any of my photo needs!

Wow. This place is pretty incredible honestly. I’m not one to leave reviews but I was impressed with the customer service and individual time that was given to me as a customer. I was planning to buy some camera equipment over $5k and Doug walked me through every single question or interest I had. They had everything I wanted in stock. I was attending a conference in Salt Lake City last weekend. I decided to rent a camera and head to Antelope Island in hopes to capturing some images of the world class mule deer that I've been looking at online for years. So thankful I ran into Collin. He told me where to go for the mule deer and he was spot on. I was able to take some incredible pictures that I plan to frame. Jon was also helpful in getting my images off of the camera and into my google drive. Highly, highly recommend these guys. First class operation and will definitely be back on my next trip to SLC.

Got my first prime lens here after hearing the high praise Marina Williams @marinawphoto gave this place, and I’ve gotta say this is the first camera store that I’ve actually liked. Despite it being a bit out of the way for me to get to, it was definitely worth the drive. I can’t wait to go back to get some rolls of seamless background paper, and I will definitely be going back for any of my other camera needs.

Once again Pictureline puts me in the right gear. I needed some of the newer gen of CF cards and some SD cards. I didn't do all my research and Hans got me into a better setup right away, checked stock while I was on the phone and guided me towards a software solution instead of a hardware solution. PICTURELINE SAVED MY LIFE (and my business) I’m a wedding videographer. Have been doing weddings professionally for almost 3 years, almost 40 weddings done and it finally happened… I wiped a card before importing the footage. I took it to them and there was nothing they could do. They gave me a refund for the footage they couldn’t recover but Kenny walks up to me and says he wants to try one more thing. He takes me to his computer and he asks me to leave the SD card. VERY doubtful I’m getting my lost clips back I start drafting up the horrible news to send to my client. A few hours later I got a text from Pictureline and it was Kenny saying he found the footage! He absolutely did not need to do that. He 100% went the extra mile to help me fix a big mistake I made. Words cannot describe how much that extra mile has saved me. Incredible service from not only him but the whole staff. 10/10 from me

Pictureline is incredible! I had a friend put me on their wait list for the FujiFilm x100v and xe4. These cameras are currently in high demand and sell out really quickly. Pictureline got their hands on a few xe4 cameras and contacted me immediately. Chris set me up to purchase and the camera was shipped to me out of state the same day *despite it being the day before Christmas Eve!* The Pictureline staff are friendly, know their stuff and work in a timely manner! The camera also had NO markup and was an incredible price compared to their competitors. So happy to have my new camera and can’t thank the Pictureline team enough!

What a great store! I wanted a Fujifilm GFX100S and, amazingly, Pictureline had them in stock. The store is beautiful, and the staff was very professional and helpful. I had requested an alert for availability of a lens, it came available and Chris helped me through getting it paid for but then there was a mix up with shipping. Money well spent. I came to this class as an absolute beginner. My knowledge of my camera was limited to on/off. I was concerned the information would be presented in a way that was difficult to follow for someone like me but decided to give it a try. By the end of the 1st of our 6 “Getting to Know Your Camera” classes, I felt like I had gotten my money’s worth and then some. Each class provided even more value. Money well spent. Coming in, I could not have told you what an F Stop was or what it did. After finishing the 6 classes, I can manually adjust shutter speed, F stop, and ISO based on light conditions. There were many in the class much more professional and educated and they also found value in the classes. I would say regardless of your skill level, this is a great series. I recently attended the photo walk at the state capitol. As stated previously Pictureline had a permit and technically should have had the building to ourselves. There were several other small groups taking wedding and family photos and that was OK, plenty of room for all. I'm sorry that the bride to be who left the negative review had a bad experience. But, the Pictureline group , after waiting as requested by here photographer for about 5 to 10 minutes moved out. And if she had just asked for more time we would have given it to her. Communication is the key, not complaining after the fact. Pictureline is a class act with great people.

While cleaning my sensor my Nikon D500 went into error. I tried everything to fix the error issue with no success. Finally I looked on google for the closest camera repair store in the Kanab area. Closest one to me was Pictureline in Salt lake City. I spoke with a Rep over the phone and we both agreed I needed to bring camera into the store. Kanab to Salt Lake is 324 miles one way. 5 hour drive one way. I arrived at store and a different Tech looked at it. Perplexed, he said it had to be sent to Nikon. Another Tech sitting next to us heard our conversation and asked if he could look at camera. He brought it in the back area, and 2 minutes later came out and told me the problem. The shutter curtain was not opening because one of the tiny brackets was bent. He informed me it was a 50/50 shot at fixing it.. He brought it to the back room again and not even 3 minutes later came out with it fixed. No Charge.. Pictureline Camera Shop has the best customer service I have ever encountered.

I've only had good experiences here. Sometimes it takes a while to get someone's attention if you actually need help (especially on weekends), but they are also very nice and helpful. I bought my first real camera here, including the lens and lens filter... fast forward 8 years, I brought in the lens after dropping it and breaking the filter in such a way that it was stuck to the lens. They were able to cut it off for me for free. Pretty much all their inventory is full price.

Update: A high end camera shop indeed. It carries all the brands you would want or need. The staff are very nice and will walk you through different cameras and equipment. Previously I said their prices are usually higher than others, but they now have price match and financing options. Its been the only place I buy cameras from for the past 15+ years and that's because of their customer service.

Every time I've been to Pictureline (in person or online) I've had a great experience. The staff are some of the friendliest and most helpful you'll encounter in any retail environment. A few months ago I was tasked with doing a large live streaming project for work and I needed some help picking out the right equipment. Pictureline was my first stop. I walked in and bought a Sony lens. Got in my car in the parking lot and looked up local classifieds and noticed the same lens for sale at a significantly lower price. I had been looking at the classifieds all morning but I made the mistake of not checking them again before buying. Their in store policy says returns are only given as in store credit. They agreed to just refund me my money since I had bought the lens only 10 minutes earlier. I am extremely thankful for them helping me out with my return. I will be back for future camera needs.

I have been visiting this store for the past few years. As my interest in photography has increased, I find myself going in more and more. Not only are they fully equipped with every need as pertains to gear, the staff is simply outstanding. Every single employee is Intersted in helping you and informing you, rather than selling you something. You can’t ask for a better customer service experience. My most recent trip today was out of desperation as I was in a bind with my limitation of photoshop knowledge. I was in need of major help with a project that was over my head and required photoshop experience of which I have very little. Not more than 5 min after walking in the store, and I was getting a one on one tutorial by one of their in house graphic designers who knows the software inside and out. He literally sat with me for 40 min showing me and teaching me the tools I needed to use in photoshop to fix the images I had been asked by clients to adjust. Like, is that even a real thing? I knew they were accommodating, which is why I went there. And I did come prepared with my laptop on the off chance that something amazing like this would happen. But I didn’t believe it was going to be that helpful and that over the top. If you are a novice, or a pro, Picturline should be your go to source for any photography related need you may have. Full disclosure, I’ve spent under $100 total on merchandise and rentals from this store. Yet they treat me like I’m spending $5,000 every time I’m there. Needless to say, my next major camera purchased will be through this store. They are hands down the best in the business and without a question the best source in Utah. I vouch that they are genuinely more concerned about the service they provide, than pushing product and sales on you as the customer. Consequently, that approach is lasting and creates loyalty and ultimately is the key to their success as a company. Thank you Picturline, for always going above and beyond. No matter what my needs may be.

I was in the market recently for a Canon R5, NOT a cheap purchase. I have been a dedicated B&H Photo customer for almost 20 years so for this major purchase I had every intention of using them again. Think again, the R5 was out of stock with no ETA. Guess I will try Adorama...out of stock, Unique Photo...out of stock. I was bummed. Read on the DPReview Canon forum others complaining about no being able to find the R5 in stock.Another forum member wrote about their great experience with their local camera store, Pictureline having stock. I was convinced that they must be mistaken, NO ONE HAD THE CANON R5 available. Went to the Pictureline website and started a chat via text with Chris B., long story short... I had package on my door step a few days later with the impossible to find R5 in it! Thank you Chris B and Pictureline, your response, communication and service were above and beyond GREAT. This review has been pending since long.. was browsing to look at the availability for a new lens to pre-order and found picture line, ordered it right away and started bugging the store on the status as the item was back ordered due to high demand (BTW it was a Sigma 24-70mm Sony emount - heavy but the pictures are sick). Max was the person who helped me get my lens one-time, infact a day before. If you are planning on buying any lens or sensor, he is the go to guy. Every one in the store are very patient in answering your questions. Going forward this will be my store to order stuff.

YESS!!! Honestly one of my Favorite stops in the city for anything camera. Pictureline and Allens Camera are really the best players in the game in Utah. They have great middle range camera/camcorders and high end medium format options. The are a little more $$$$ but they really have all the bases covered. I've been happy with every experience. I had a problem with my Fuji XT20 and they helped me every step of the way. Def a happy customer so far.

I highly recommend Pictureline. Excellent place to get camera gear. Excellent customer service. I bought the last SL2 body they had (which is already hard to find in the US) and unfortunately it had a dust spec inside the RVF. Something Leica would have fixed easily. But the guys from Pictureline went above and beyond to get a brand new replacement body directly from Leica into my hands within just a few days. It’s pretty exceptional because at the time I’m writing this review it’s impossible to source a SL2 in the US...... they managed support through text messages, very cool. I ended up getting my GFX100 from there as well. They were able to score me a lens that was back ordered so it would shift the same time as the body and overnight. Perfect!

I've been to Pictureline several times. Pricing-wise, they're a bit higher than the 'net for some things but you'd expect that from a store front. The store is cool, very cool, and clearly a lot of thought has been put into the design and arrangement. It's always busy, which I think is a good sign. The location is fair - I come from the University where I'm studying film and photography and getting to it from public transportation can be pain. It's seems like Pictureline is a Canon shop and I shoot Nikon. They do sell some Nikon kit. My biggest complaint is the service. Wow (and what is it with the photography stores in Salt Lake City?? I'm from Chicago and I'm used to rude people, but wow ...) The service has been lukewarm on average. I've been to store four times and once my attendant was a woman (Stacy, I think) and she was great! She helped me find what I needed, and even searched the 'net to help me find what something they didn't have. Also, I was buying lenses and Bryce (I believe) made some suggestions that helped me avoid overspending. And then there's this guy (I found his pic on their website) whose name I won't mention: I was buying a UV filter for a 28mm Nikon AI-s lens. He immediately told me he'd never heard of an AI-s lens - and in a condescending tone of voice that suggested I was an idiot for even thinking there was such a thing. Thinking perhaps my tone was wrong, I tried to explain what I was looking for and he was like: "Did you bring the lens with you?" When I didn't have it, he just smiled and nodded as if he knew it all along ... I was an idiot. At one point, he even said, "Who still shoots film?" Hello? Really? Film students, some photographers . . . whatever. He was able to find me an extra battery for a Nikon D600, but only amid a seeming endless barrage of personal questions - and when he found out I was a photography student at the U, the questions became even a bit more personal. Really, sport, I'm looking for a UV filter, not a date. The second time I was with a friend who was trying to buy a memory card for his new camera. The salesman snapped at him, saying he had never heard of that kind of memory card. Fortunately, my friend had brought his camera manual with him and showed the salesman where the manual specifically stated this type of memory card should be used. The salesman then stated that Nikon was a Japanese company and their manuals were translated and sometimes the translations were wrong. Seriously??? In both cases, this was the same salesperson. All the other salespeople have been nice (so I upgraded my service review to good from poor). And to the salesman's credit, he did find a working memory card for my friend. Still, these experiences kind of cured me of the cool design and appeal quality. Now I just order my stuff on Amazon where it's cheaper, gets delivered to my door, and I don't have to be treated like I have no idea what I'm talking about.

These guys seemed pretty legit. I called early innthe morning on a Saturday asking if they had a camera I was looking for. They had one left and were happy to set it aside for me. Surprisingly these guys had a better price than amazon had plus I was able to recieve my camera that same day. When i got inside they had plenty of staff and the wait wasn't bad at all. Ill be going here for all my photography needs!

Great customer service unfortunately they could not fulfill my order due to Covid. That's understandable and I appreciate them trying. I only wish they would communicate with you first, if you have bought a product and they don't know have the product in stock/are waiting for a shipment. I ended up waiting a week for my item to never ship before complaining and now I have to wait another week to receive the refund. It's frustrating having ur money tied up for 2 weeks. Thank god I contacted customer service or I would have had to wait longer. You don't even get a receipt sent to ur email from this company when you buy something. Their week day deals on rentals are great and so is their overall selection. I was trying to rent a DJI gimbal one time and they didn't have one but they gave me the contact info for a guy that they knew that did have one, which I thought was exceedingly cool. It's not only a great place to rent from, buy gear from, or have your camera serviced at, it's a great place to make connections and keep your finger on the pulse of the SLC photo/video industry.

I'm not hard to please, but renting a backdrop for my event was the way to go because I didn't have one. I found one to rent here and went over the agreement which said money would be taken out if it was dirty and they would have to clean it after your done with it. Well looks like they didn't enforce that rule. I got this backdrop cloth set up right where wanted it and spent a good amount of time rigging it up how I wanted. Low and behold it had circle stains in random spots. I wouldn't have been able to rearrange it to where you wouldn't see the stains. I had to spend more time than I wanted in post processing spot removing these stains on all the pictures from the event. Time and Money down the drain. Don't rent backdrops from here or you'll spend a lot more time in post processing than you care to spend. It looked very tacky and am going to just invest in one of my own to save me the troubles. (Update) Pictureline reached out to me and told me they would take care of the rental issue I was facing and put a better process in place. They responded to my review quick and professional and feel in better hands with renting from them again. I'm happy they took care of me and addressed my concerns and am sure you will be happy as well!

I've been going to pictureline for about 2 years now. They've always been helpful with the rentals I've made. Easy in and easy out. Recently I had a request that was more challenging. I rented an H6 Zoom to do some audio recording, sadly I totally forgot to take the audio files off the card onto my computer and returned the zoom. I came in the next day to see if maybe it was still on there... It wasn't, CRAP. When they realized my obvious panic, there were countless people rushing to help me out. They said a recovery was possible, to wrap this up they recovered it for and were super helpful in the process. Easily one of the best experiences I've had with a business. Shout out to Berkley!!

Jacob was an absolutely awesome person to work with and ask questions. He knew everything I asked; and he took the time to break down aperture and iso and showed me several lenses and explained the difference between each one. He explained mirrorless vs mirrored cameras, talked about new products coming out; and made me feel completely comfortable with all my questions. Jacob got 5 stars in my book, and if/when I buy something, even though they dont work on commission, I'd buy from him. I don't give lower than 5 stars in a review, i either like it enough to take the time to type it out, or i dont review it at all, but two separate incidents have me scratching my head almost two hours after I left. While Jacob was showing me a product, I assume his boss(?) or someone walked up and asked if they could borrow or share the product. I dont mind sharing, but I have a hard time doing it while I have it in my hands and i'm learning it's features. Bad form on that guy's part, taking what I was looking to purchase, and place it in an older gentleman's hands; presumably because he had "more buying power". Still frustrated about that. The second issue is that one of the employees walked up and asked "What's that big lens doing out?" Jacob, again, answered cordially and said something along the lines of, "I wanted to show that to him". The other employee then said, to me. "That lens is $3000; do you have $3000?" I did my best to play off the situation. First of all, whether I have the money or not is none of your business. Secondly, your customer service shouldn't change based on your view of who I am. Please don't judge a book by it's cover. Jacob did great, and I hope you hire more people like him. Like I said, if I go back, it'll be because he treated me so well. (Edited some words out.)

Went in the store on Friday looking to rent a canon zoom lens with IS in the 100-300 range for Saturday. Gentleman told me that he had a 70-200 available and that he would reserve it for me. I was told to come back at 9:30am the next day for pickup and that the return would be the upcoming Monday. Arrived at 9:30 on Saturday for the pickup only to learn that my name was not in the system whatsoever and that all zoom canon lenses had been rented out for the day. ????? Did I just speak to a ghost or was the 5 minutes of typing he did the day before just an act for my sake? The only reason I'm not giving one star is because the lady helping me today was at least sympathetic and attempted to help by offering $10 off a 135 prime lens. Unfortunately not a lens I can use for this situation. As this is a paid client shoot, I am very suspect at renting from them in the future if information just suddenly disappears. Understandable if it was online but I talked to a person for this and was assured in this case. Just... Sigh... Now I have to check my credit card statement since I gave that information to reserve the lens. Update: As peeved as I am about this situation there is something that can be said when the manager attempts to contact you the same day to try and remediate the issue. (Which is what Stacy did) Unfortunately the nature of my problem is difficult to fix but at the very least it's good to hear that they are trying to figure something out on their end. It's rare to see that from any company. On a side note this update is not compensation driven since I went ahead and just bought the lens I needed. (Done with renting for awhile)
