Shoutout to Nick, Lawrence, and the Store Manager Michael for saving me when my camera card got corrupted. I was so stressed because I had very important files and didn't have anything backed up. I had purchased the camera card at their location a few weeks before, and even though I didn't save a receipt they offered to replace it. Not only that - but they were able to FULLY RECOVER all of my files from the corrupted card! I can't express how grateful I am for the lengths they went to, and keeping me up to date through the entire process. I highly recommend going to this location - the team is the absolute best.

Hunt's Photo saved the day! I came to Providence for my son's travel tournament & discovered that I needed a tripod for my iPhone. Hunt's opened at 9am on Saturday so I was able to get what I needed before game time! AND the salesman was so KNOWLEDGEABLE & NICE--he could have easily upsold me but he didn't. He was super PATIENT in helping me learn how to set up the equipment. I really appreciated the in-person, quick help to find exactly what I needed. THANK YOU!!

I went into the store not knowing anything and after talking to Lawrence for a few minutes I had all the info I needed to make an informed decision on my purchase. I ended up getting a great deal on a video set up, and the store staff bent over backwards getting the items on needed on my deadline from another location. I would absolutely shop here again.

We go to Hunts all the time for our photo and video needs! We have two businesses - a commercial media production company and a wedding photo/video company so we have various needs for cameras, lenses, flashes and more. They have a pretty good selection in their Providence store but practically anything they don't have in that particular store can be there the next day, which is awesome. They price match with B+H too which is great. Highly recommend checking out Hunts! #supportlocal

A great place to buy. Like an old time camera shop, friendly an knowledgeable. The answer questions and will special order equipment for you. If you have a problem you can go and see them and they will help you. Actual people, not an automated chat, or a phone menu.

Mike and his team at the Providence location were amazing. I noticed something wrong the day before a shoot with my camera. I took it over to them and they were able to fix it within 24 hours. You need to be doing business with them. It’s rare to find businesses that care. They really cared about getting my equipment back working.

Great place. I've spent tens of thousands here over the past five years and I have no complaints. Good stuff, reasonably priced. Good people working there although I miss Paul and they need to work on the air quality. Recent carpet cleaning has made it difficult to breathe.

The staff is very friendly here. They always immediately ask if they can help you find anything specific and are willing to let you test out equipment in store to get a feel for what you are buying. The prices on cameras and lenses are pretty standard, but the accessories are priced a bit higher. That being said, the owner has notified me of a price match guarantee where he will match any online price for any item. Pretty impressive really as I know it's difficult for smaller stores to keep up with larger online retailers. My only complaint is the stocking. The website will say in stock, but that is based off their main location so make sure you call before you make the trip if you're looking for something specific as they may not have it in store. It's happened to me three times now with a lens, macro focusing rail, and a tripod. I research to decide which item I want before purchasing, but then they end up trying to sell me something else because they don't have it in stock and I end up unsatisfied with the purchase. They offer to ship from their other stores and it only takes 1-2 days, but it's still a bit frustrating. I'll call in the future to avoid the frustration though. This is a pretty minor complaint really. Full disclosure: I originally wrote a 2 star review for this based off of pricing and stock availability, but the owner contacted me via email and cleared up my complaints on the pricing with his price match guarantee. Very impressive and it adds to the already stellar customer service.

I am getting back into photography after a long absence and stopped in for their big used gear sale awhile ago. The store is nicely laid out. Neat and organized. Everyone I spoke to was super helpful. Prices were pretty good during the sale. I mostly just wasnted to look around as lots has changed since I was last shooting photos. They let me do that without any pressure. I ended up buying a few lenses for my camera which have worked out great. Next time I'm in the market for gear I'll definetly give Hunt's a try and make the drive from CT.

Super Friendly staff that know what they are talking about. Great selection of any product you would need for photography. They carry all sorts of brand names products and also have printers. They are happy to help you with any questions you have whether you're a beginning photographer or a professional they are here to help you. Would definitely recommend this place if you are just starting out or been doing it for a long time.

Would give more stars if possible. Please if you find yourself with many questions as I did and want answers visit the providence location and ask for Michael Rice. I walked in with a $4,000 budget and left spending close to only $400...! Without the help that I received from the whole staff, and specifically Michael. Hunt's Photo and Video is by far the greatest camera store ever! They have a great inventory and very fair prices. The staff are hands down the most friendly and helpful of any store I have ever been in. They go out of their way from the moment you walk in to make sure that you will be happy when you walk out. When my Canon printer that I had brought from Hunt's broke, they talked me through possible issues and gave me a Canon operator number to call and try to fix it. When this failed to work, I brought the test print back to the store, and explained the problem that I was experiencing. By the end of the day, they had given me a new printer and ink to replace the old one, even though it was out of warranty. This is next level customer service that you will not find in any other store. Hunt's Photo and Video is the go-to place for anyone looking to buy a camera, lenses, printer, film, or accessories for their photography and video in the area. Shop small and support a great business and we all win!

I think I have been helped by almost everyone in the store at one time or another and they are always knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. If they don't have what you need they can get it for you really fast. I have done this many times and they can ship it directly to you-which is a great time saver. They can also price match so shop local, support a great business and we all win!

I'm seeing the comment about Paul and I gotta say, I think that's bogus because when I asked one of the staff for a film camera with a light meter needle, they said they didn't think they had it and then there's Paul who finds one for me. Paul is very helpful and really cool as well as all the staff there. Great store. The only complaint I have is that the store is not bigger and they don't sell more camera items but they sell plenty of items. Great store, great service!

They have used stuff for sale across most brands but more a new gear -centric camera shop. Havnt been to any locations besides N Main in providence but i know this is a chain. They carry a great selection of Nikon, Canon, Sony, Olympus and more camera bodies and a huge selection of great lenses to pair them with. There is also a huge selection of accessories ranging from speedlights, teleconverters, tripods, photo printers and more. Hunts Photo is definitely the best choice for anyone looking for quality photo and video gear.

If you need a camera or photography supplies, this is the place to go. It's one of the only places in RI that sells darkroom supplies (the RISD store does as well). If you go to Hunt's, however, trust yourself, and don't let the workers talk you into anything you don't want or make you doubt yourself. They're rather condescending and often incorrect.
