Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable about all appliances, promotions, and financing options, he was able to walk us through the decision-making process at an appropriate pace we could understand. Prior to Bray & Scarff opening their store at this location, we used to purchase our appliances at Home Depot or on-line. However, now that we've had the pleasure of working with Bray & Scarff on the replacement of our last three appliances, we wouldn't consider going anywhere else. We always thought they were a high end store, but there isn't anything further from the truth. Their prices are extremely competitive and their sales force is incredibly knowledgeable -- much more so than any person you'd find at one of the big box stores where staff members come and go with tremendous frequency. Jon Armstrong, the Store Manager, is not only one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet, but is extremely knowledgeable about every product they sell. We go into the store with the dimensions of the available space for the appliance and tell him what our price range is, and he immediately directs us to several products that fit the bill. We don't have to waste a ton of time looking at every appliance on the showroom floor. We simply cut to the chase and save everyone a tremendous amount of time and energy. The delivery of our refrigerator went seamlessly. Everything was done by text -- including the confirmation time for the delivery as well as a reminder about 15 minutes before the arrival of the crew with our merchandise. Everyone at the Germantown store is very pleasant and helpful and the same extends to their delivery team. This is definitely the place you should go the next time you need to update/replace any appliance in your home. On a side note - we've also worked with Nathan (their kitchen and bathroom designer) on the renovation of two of our bathrooms and we can't say enough good things about him. The bathrooms are showplace quality and I can't tell you the number of compliments we have received from guests to our home. We've worked with other designers for prior renovations in our house, but he's the absolute best by far. You should definitely make it a point to stop by this local store and see what they can do for you.

I needed a side by side refrigerator with specific measurements. I spoke with Jon Armstrong on the telephone and gave the measurements of my refrigerator. He immediately sent me what was available by emailed and I was pleased. I called back and made an appointment to see the refrigerator the same day and I purchased it. I love the fact that this process was hassle free, everything was explained to me and I could get the refrigerator delivered without a middle man being involved within a few days. Having to deal with another company for delivery is a nightmare. I would not have to deal with this. Jon was very professional and I would recommend him. We have used Dan Evans at Bray & Scarff twice now. He has provided us with excellent service. His knowledge of the products helped us make the right decisions for us and our home. Our first experience was replacing all of our kitchen appliances. He set up all the appointments for us and helped me through the rebate process. Our experience was so great, we went back almost two years later to replace our washer and dryer and asked for him personally. I recommend Bray & Scarff, but most importantly I recommend Dan Evans.

I asked the Mrs if it was time for a new washing machine and dryer. I knew the answer already. We stopped by a few of the Big Box stores and the local Bray and Scarff store which was right around the corner from HD and BestBuy. We were kindly welcomed into the store after a few moments of time getting adjusted to the selection of appliances. Roan Ottey presented himself in a professional manner. Yes both of us what we were looking for and we told him we were looking for a wash machine and dryer for the house. I asked what we were replacing in the house and I told him the fridge and microwave. We all laughed. He helped the Mrs and I eliminate the items we would not be interested and directed us to the best fit of the selection and benefits of the different brands and models. He answered every question needed for us to make an informed decision and told us about the Special Programs which were currently offered. From the special pricing, rebates and Special Financing, the Mrs. made her decision and I am now expecting the delivery of the items with Free Installation and removal of the older appliances…we were promised the items to be delivered on my next working day off… I will try to post how that experience went. So far an…A+ for Bray and Scarff, Roan Ottey, and The Mrs.

Update: while I love my new refrigerator, I was a little dismayed with the delivery. I was informed when the delivery guys showed up it would be an additional $75 to take the doors off my old refrigerator and remove it. I had no real choice but to give the go ahead since I needed a working fridge. It would have been nice to have known this in advance! Easiest appliance purchase ever! Jon was so helpful in showing me all the options available. Took under 30 minutes to complete the sale. I'll be going back to Bray and Scarff in the future for all my appliances.

I’m only giving 5 stars because of my experience with Dan Evans. My experience with the installation department was HELLISH to say the least but Dan saved the day every single time. . He went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure everything worked out and he never NOT ONCE gave me an attitude. He is seriously the best. He would even call me on his day off to make sure everything went smoothly or to help me with an issue. . If it wasn’t for him I’m not sure I would have kept my order. He seriously is the best thing at Bray and Scarff and I feel so fortunate that he was there to not only guide us when we bought all new appliances for our home but because he held our hand through all the issues. . If you’re shopping in this location ask for Dan, trust me.

We went here looking for a low profile microwave and we greeted promptly by the highly knowledgeable staff. Though they didn't have the exact model we wanted on display, they had an extremely similar model that we liked even better. The financing options are excellent and the whole experience, including the purchase, took about 15-20 minutes. And they didn't try to sell us anything else or a more expensive model, which is a plus. Would recommend. Buy local!

As frustrating as the wait was to get the washer and dryer in, I really appreciate Jon and how he kept me up to date on the status of my order. I also appreciate the team that came out that removed my old unit and that installed my new. The space it went in is extremely tight, but they got the units out and in with no damage to my doors, my floors, or the unit itself. They were professional and considerate, ensuring all connections were made properly and the unit worked without leaks. The big box store didn’t want to even try and deal with working in that small space, they just passed the blame on to independent contractors, then they ghosted me. With Bray & Scarff, I was able to work one on one with Jon to coordinate the initial measurements, select a unit that would fit, and the installation team. They got it done.

We were really delighted by our experience with Jon at Bray & Scarff. We had looked around and were being told that delivery and installation would be weeks into January of 2022. I called and spoke with Jon and within minutes was advised that they had the model we wanted in stock at their warehouse; was given a rough estimate; detailed instructions on what photos would be helpful to facilitate his pricing our project. In addition to that, we found out that they have their own Installation Technicians on Staff. That's good to know. Everything from start to finish, with us walking out with an install date the following week took a few hours. We're extremely happy with this part of the process and believe the rest will go as good as this.

We have yet to have the appliances installed, but our Salesman Mark Kelbaugh was absolutely fantastic to work with. He was very laid back (no sales pressure), extremely easy to work with, showed us all of our options, answered all of our questions and was very patient. We went in to purchase a refrigerator and ended up adding a new stove top microwave and dishwasher to the list. Neither of which we needed. Our dishwasher is barely 2 years old. However, Mark pointed out that having matching appliances would help us in selling our home in a few years. He actually took the time to determine if the appliances we were purchasing would be for long term use from us, or more short term. We still opted to purchase more premium appliances because of Mark's knowledge.

I was stuck with a 12 year old GE washer needing at the very least a new motor and possibly an inverter and control board. In addition my GE dryer needed a new heat sensor. Example: Wayne knocked before coming back into the house even though he'd already been inside and it was established he'd be going in and out. He also asked before cutting through our kitchen. I don't believe I've ever had an installation/delivery person so professional. Nice nice touch Bray & Scarff! Please keep all of your staff and give them raises because they deserve it!

on 07/02/2021 we ordered a GE CAFE French door oven with Dan Evans at the Germantown store. Dan answered all of our questions and we cannot say enough about his professionalism.. Delivery was expected to be in September and we were pleased to get a call from Dan letting us know the delivery was moved up to 07/15. Upon delivery which was precisely in the window forecasted I noticed the bottom of the box was slightly damaged on both sides at the rear of the unit. The delivery men immediately took it upon themselves to open the box an document the slightly bent metal of the housing with pictures and written notes on the delivery ticket. Needless to say I was impressed with the delivery men for taking the initiative. Because the bent sheet metal would not interfere with the operation of the oven my son, son-in-law and I installed the oven. The next day I received a text message to contact James Spenser from Bray and Scarf. We had some problems connecting and again a day or two later James contacted me and expressed the concern Bray & Scarf had about the damage. Again I was impressed with the concern given to a rather minor amount of damage. I have dealt with Bray & Scarf over the last 30 years at the Beltsville, Rockville and now the Germantown store and will be sure to visit them when our 22 year old refrigerator bites the dust.

The delivery men, Ben and Trevonn, were professional and did a great job hooking up and fitting the refrigerator into a very tight spot without damaging my floor or cabinets. Dan listened to and understood my request for a stainless steel top mounted refrigerator. He located the model with ice maker and followed up and arranged delivery. Ordering and payment was done over the phone which was especially helpful given the pandemic. Bray and Scarff uses their own delivery team. Delivery was done on time. The store had a nice selection of cooktops and other major appliances and an even bigger inventory through their website. We liked the GE Profile cooktop in the store which was better than Home Depot and Best Buy's selections. Darin, the salesperson, was knowledgeable and helpful. He even ordered an additional cooktop to be sure we would have what we needed the next week for our countertop installation. Bray and Scarff will price match a competitor's price listed on the web which is great. Although we did not get installation, I would trust their installers more since they do not subcontract out like Home Depot.

The appliance was delivered and connected only two days after purchase. The old unit was removed as well.
