Solar was great. Only appointment was a week away, but they called when they had a cancellation and serviced my machine within a few days. They also honored my appointment time request. Doug was prompt, sure nice and fast. Would definitely use them again.

Ron was excellent! He truly cared about our experience and explained everything thoroughly. Ron checked all aspects of our ice maker an wine cooler that were damaged during Hurricane Ida. We have been working with our insurance carrier who was absolutely no help. Ron was able to factually explain the issues and was able to put in his report. He was very specific in saying this may or may not be covered, but was able to actually diagnose both the ice maker and wine cooler. This is what our insurance inspectors did not do even though our insurance carrier insisted that we use them. the insurance technicians stated, "could not determine the issue."Having an independent evaluation and now knowing exactly what are the issues we are able to present this to our insurance carrier and start the negotiating process. Thanks to Ron, his knowledge and the best description of what the problems are, we feel that we may have a fighting chance now to negotiate with our insurance carrier. Our experience with Ron and Solar Appliance reminded us of the "old days," because of the pride and professionalism that Ron had. We definitely got more than our money's worth and highly recommend Ron and Solar Appliance.

The workman who came was thorough and on time. We had a broken washer. The diagnosis was that we would have a major repair bill. He honestly laid out the pros and cons of fixing our machine or getting a new one. We decided to buy a new machine as the costs would be the same to fix it. I simply had an assessment to see what was wrong with my 10-year-old LG refrigerator that was no longer cooling. The repairman who came out was very kind and professional. Unfortunately the repair part was more expensive than what I could buy a new refrigerator for so we decided not to repair it. Mr. Jason went above and beyond to fix a part issue & has my tech out next day, after he found out which my family is so grateful for. ***update*** Solar came out to repair my dryer and I’m happy I gave them another chance. They changed the fuse and ordered heating element that was going bad due to my dryer being vented through the roof. The tech returned to repair it in a few days. She was great, quick, and through and also answered my questions and even gave me some safety info, that I was not privy too. I added a star from my initial 3star review. The 4 stars is because the service was quite pricey. We will continue to use them for all appliance repairs. Had Solar come out to repair my dryer that was not starting. The technician had to reset the timer and said that he had to order a part. From my understanding he reset it so that our dryer would be functioning, while we wait for the part. I really appreciated this. The dryer was working properly so I completely forgot to call and check on whatever part needed to be ordered. About 2 weeks ago, the dryer started to make a ticking sound when it is not operating. It still works, but the knob just ticks. Not sure if it’s going out or what. Just spoke to someone at Solar who said that I would have to call my warranty company to schedule another service appointment. Had it been fixed correctly the 1st time I wouldn’t need to have a follow up service appointment. Very disappointing and inconvenient. Luckily I have a warranty, but I don’t think I will have Solar come out again.

George was absolutely amazing. I would recommend him any time. He was always polite and friendly. he explained every step. It did take a few weeks to repair because we had to wait on different parts. The only issue I had was George had told me he would be back in like two days with a part and a week went by. I called Solar and they said they were waiting on me to file another insurance claim for the part. They should have called and informed me instead of having to wait so long to know any update. I had no idea they were waiting on me. It was already a long process and that made it longer.

New Whirlpool top freezer. Came 2 check 5 X's why refrigerator making all different noises. Replaced freezer fan & motor. Last guy (Paul H) that came actually knew this refrigerator's sounds & convinced me that sounds were really normal. My refrigerator compressor uses butane not freon, which is better. Sounds have gotten better but took 2 months to "settle down". Woke me 3:20 AM with loud groaning & squealing then hissing as it was cooling. Then new sound like fan cracking ice.

They came within a day of my calling for the repair. The technician was very professional and knowledgeable. He had the part on his truck. It took all of 30-45 max to repair. A trip charge of almost $145 was due in advance and it was applied to my repair. The part was almost $200, no problem. I am happy with the repair. Now what I was in sticker shock about was the labor charge of almost $300.00 for less than an hour of work and a very accessible and uncomplicated repair. I did not see the details/breakdown until the repair was complete. That's up there with highly trained Doctors, Lawyers & CEO's. I feel severely overcharged. Maybe a menu/list of labor charges should be available so customers are not caught off-guard.

I feel it was a bit more expensive than should have been. I had to get ice dispenser motor replaced on my 2 year old kitchen-aid French door unit. not worth it. spent over $150 for them to come tell me basically what i already knew. the part is $100 and they want to charge $400 to install it. now had i spent the $150 for them to come out and install the new part i could purchase for 100 that would put me at 250 total and would be justifiable to fix a broken appliance. but trying to get me to spend $600 on a broken used appliance makes no sense at all. save your money and just buy a new appliance bc the money you will spend trying to get it fixed with them you could have saved the effort and got a brand new one for practically the same cost.

This is the second time we have used Solar Refrigeration. Each time the technician has arrived on time and been extremely professional. The company was extremely consistent regarding keeping us updated about the technician's arrival by email and phone. This visit was just a Service Call. Today, Ray showed up and was wearing a mask and maintained a 6ft. distance whenever possible (small laundry room). He explained in detail what was wrong, how it would have to be repaired, and the cost of repair. He had a great sense of humor and even took a moment to play with the dogs (which I thought was great). Even though the cost of repair was greater than the cost of a new washer, I would definitely use their service if needed in the future and recommend them to anyone in need of appliance repair.

I made an appointment and the came out on the appointed day. They had to come back because the refrigerator was frozen up. I followed the service person directions to have the refrigerator thawed and dried out. When he got there he was able to reseal the gasket. It does not freeze up anymore. A new gasket was extremely high. I got their name from NOLA Market Place on TV. Best decision I made.

My ice maker wasn’t working properly. Solar Appliance was prompt about scheduling an appointment. The repairman was courteous and polite. He had to order the parts for the repair. One part came in but we were awaiting another part for the ice maker that was on back order. Yet I never had to wonder about what was going on with my fridge or when it would be repaired. Every step of the way, Solar Appliance kept us updated via email and if the part still had not come in then they rescheduled our appointment. Finally the part came in the repairman returned and fixed it. He had on a mask and even covered his shoes when he came into my home. Also he cleaned up the area he worked in. He even removed the box that the part came in for us so my husband didn’t have to do it. I will give Solar Appliance my business and recommend them to all of my friends and family! He scheduled a return visit before leaving and I paid for half of the repair cost. He was early for the next appointment and completed the repair quickly. Appointsments are not readily available and window for technician arrival time is too long. Technician is supposed to call thirty minutes before arrival, that didn't happen. Technician failed to reconnect small hose which resulted in washing machine continuously malfunctioning. I was able to reconnect small hose and avoid another repair appointment. Even with minor inconveniences, overall experience with Solar was good.

The communication with scheduling was very poor. I was given a return appointment for service by the technician once he discovered he needed to order a part. I had to call to confirm at 4:30pm the day before (because no one from the company called me) to learn that the part had not arrived and they would not be coming until one day later. The same thing happened the next day. They finally made an appointment to which the technician arrived 2 hours before the time i said i was available. The technician fixed the problem. I would not make Soler my first call next time.

My washer was under warranty when I needed a repair. A piece of clothing became lodged under the agitator. When I called to set up the appointment I was told they could come the following day. Then they called back stating it would be the next day before they could come. This was frustrating. I wish the schedulers could get on the same page as the repairmen. I was told I would receive a phone call 30 minutes before the repair man arrived however this was not the case. It was only by sheer chance that my husband was home when the gentleman showed up. He asked if we had received a call telling us he was on the way and my husband advised him that we had not. This shows that the repairman is not the one that places the call. This should be changed. The repairman is the one most knowledgeable as to his or her arrival time So they should be the person that places the call. Once he arrived he did an excellent job in a small amount of time. The company just needs to work on their communication with each other and scheduling appointments and the communication with the customers. If I have another issue I will have to use them because the washer is under warranty through them.

I reached out to Solar after high recommendations and after needing a diagnostic for my Kenmore Elite bottom freezer refrigerator. After the previous “Sears contracted technician “ was not acceptable, I called Solar, spoke with Ashley who scheduled me for a diagnostic the next day. Kenny, the technician arrived during the scheduled time, donned with a face mask( the Sears... technician did not), diagnosed the problem and even researched the part. He also checked my warranty to disclose that the compressor was under warranty for 10 years. The part was not available for Solar to obtain therefore I contacted Sears again and continue to wait to have my appliance repaired. Although Solar did not repair my appliance, they were able to diagnose the problem and give recommendations. I will not hesitate to contact them in the future if necessary and recommend them as I was.

He told my son the ice maker in my refrigerator was working fine. The only problem was we had the temperature set wrong. He adjusted the temperature setting, and thus far no more problems. I would definitely recommend Solar Refrigeration. They are expeditious and professional in the service they provide. Had the previous company’s technician noticed the temperature on the freezer and told us what to set it to, there would not have been a need for another service call. There may have not been anything wrong with that ice maker in the beginning. I thank Solar’s technician for taking the time to teach my son, and he shared the information with me. A little information goes a long ways.

First of all, thank the technician Paul for solving our dishwasher problem,, and also very grateful to Solar’s online customer service kara Caruso for patiently answering all my questions every time. Our dishwasher needed to replace the motor. Although we were told to receive the new motor in four days at the beginning, but our installation time was delayed by about a week. Of course, the delay in installation was due to the Christmas holiday and the current virus caused by manufacturers to slow down the supply, so we can understand it. In general, Solar is a very responsible repairer. You only need to communicate with them to avoid many unnecessary misunderstandings.

After determining the problem, Jason was able to find out on-the-spot what day the parts needed would be available and scheduled my follow-up visit to complete the repair. You get a phone call the afternoon before the appointment day to give you the arrival window, and the technician calls to let you know when he is on his way. My new washing machine had been staying on the last number 1 (I assume minute) anywhere from 20 minutes to 3 hours. He said the computer showed nothing wrong, but he changed the settings to factory specifications (whatever that means). I guess only time will tell if it was fixed.

My technician’s name was Chris. I was told someone would arrive between 11-2:00. He called me around 11:15 and said he would be here in 15-20 minutes. Indeed he was! He told me what he thought was wrong and went about his job. Chris told me right up front what the service call would cost and then there would be the charges for the repair itself. I originally phoned because the wine cooler installed for the family I currently work wasn't working properly. When Mike showed up, he was extremely polite and respectful. For example, after shaking my hand and thanking me for being invited in, he instinctively placed covers over his boots without knowing that we are a "shoes-off" home. I enjoyed his company throughout the repair because he is so kind and pleasant. It turned out that the cooler had a bit of an obscure problem that required Mike to return several times, each of which was equally easy. He never complained or showed the slightest degree of irritation for repeat visits, except for the inconvenience a faulty wine cooler might cause the family. He went above and beyond to find the source of the issue, including taking the cooler to repair it as best he could at his office and was careful not to damage anything in the home on the way out. He followed up throughout the outside repair process so I never had to guess on progress. After it was finally fixed, he ordered a new part for installation to ensure that what could be new, was. I highly recommend this company and hope that you're lucky enough to visit with Mike--you'll experience the kind of customer service that should be standard but is exceptional.

the technician ? great, knowledgeable, courteous, punctual, clean etc he gets a 10, as for the organization I give them a 5 much to be desire. I emphasized, clearly and emphatically that the service had to be done in the morning hours before 12 so the appointment was setup accordingly, the tech man came over, check it out and left to order the part and come back later on the week. Something happened to the part and did get in on time, fine but I receives a prerecorded message changing the date and setting the appointment for the afternoon giving me no way to call back to change it. I had to call Lowe's and went from one automatic answering to another and another, finally after about two hours trying I got the Solar phone number, I called and waited and waited for the phone to be answered but that did not happened no body answer it. Back to Lowe's, they told me that they will change the hours of the appointment, one day prior to the appointment a call made in the afternoon was registered on my answering device, that was to verify the appointment. Are you kidding me, after I told time and time again that I am never home in the afternoon. I had a sign prepare in case the tech will arrive in the afternoon hours, luckily he came in the morning hours and he did the repairs like an expert. So he gets a 10 and the office manager gets a five 5.

I explained very clearly in my service request what the problem was with my ice maker. They charged me the service fee of $91, to come out and open the fridge for exactly 1 minute and 35 seconds to agree that my ice maker was indeed broken, and the part would cost roughly $500 to fix. Something they surely could have communicated by email or phone. I feel like I donated $91 dollars to them to tell me exactly what I already knew. Thanks a lot.

Paid approximately $450 for a service call 8 months ago. Call them back for the same slow leak. The track was very professional however I had to pay and additional $105 because the unit was not leveled by the previous tech; the incorrect level supposedly caused the slow leak. I now believe, I did not need the previous pump dispenser and the incorrect level was really the problem. Solar still wanted their service call fee.

The repairman was excellent . He examined every inch of the Samsung refrigerator components. The problem I have is that Lowes and Lowes advantage will not believe Solar . A second sloppy assessment / repairman from Lowes was sent and he contradicted the first assessment. Yet he told my spouse that the unit needed a new compressor' Then Lowes asked for a third repairman from Samsung. Samsung has sent a letter stating the refrigerator could not be repaired; I still have no refrigerator and have been told that If I do not receive a response by October 10th to refile. The original failure of the refrigerator was on July 18. Somehow these agencies need better and more timely coordination. Two and a half months of home delivery tire a homebound disabled person. While the various companies try to agree is way too long. All that should have been needed was Solar's diagnostics.

Then the estimate to replace my washer lid was, hold on to your hat, $535.73. My washer cost $614.00 and is a little over two years old. So, if I replace the lid I will be spending more than the washer cost. So my question is why would a lid cost, $297, half the cost of the washer. I have no answers, but Solar asked for a review.

Our appliance technician Ray, demonstrated a Total Customer Service attitude and implementation in repairing our induction range. Ray’s safe, and technically thorough troubleshooting sure paid out on this older, but very functional appliance. Ray replaced the defective switch/heat selector potentiometer with a newer part than original equipment. It was physically different than original, and connected a bit differently than original. His skill with his VOM and innate knowledge of this range enabled him to successfully repair this system. Chris came to my home today and exchanged an exploded glass on my upper Bosch oven. First, he had to vacuum up the thousands of tiny pieces of glass from inside the oven. He was very careful while he was vacuuming. Then he replaced the faulty glass. I appreciated his neatness and cleanliness. Before he entered my home, he put on hospital like covering over his shoes so as not to track up my floors. He covered the floor and the counter top with a cloth so as not to scratch the oven door, the floor or the counter top. I feel like Chris did everything possible to repair the oven. Only time will tell if the tempered glass will withstand the heat of this oven on self clean or on any other mode.

I contacted this company to repair my Whirlpool washing machine that was leaking water. The first technician that came to my home was rude, did not want to listen to my description of the problem, he insisted that his computer connected to the machine would tell him the problem even though on several attempts I tried to show him the water stain lines on the machine. His explanation of the problem was demeaning to me as a woman; insisting that I just did not understand the mechanics of the machine. He was rushed and unprofessional in my opinion. However, when the machine began to leak again, I contacted Solar and another technician, Phillip, was dispatched the next day. He was very professional, listened to my explanation regarding the leak, and within a few minutes quickly determined the problem. He did a thorough examination of the machine and was interactive with me during the discussion and solution of the problem. Phillip is one of the reasons that I have given them a 5 star rating as well as the young lady, Toni in the office that was very helpful in getting someone out quickly and followed up with me to be sure that I was satisfied with the service; otherwise it would have been a 0 based on the first technician.
