The technician, Richard, was knowledgeable, efficient and friendly…… couldn’t have asked for better service. I would highly recommend Westside Appliance Repair and I think Richard needs a raise! I highly recommend Westside Appliance Repair. You can request an appointment online and they are quick to reply. We've had to call them for three different appliances over the past 3-4 years and the same technician has come to our home to do the repairs. He's always on time, professional, and does a great job.

I recently purchased a refrigerator/freezer from Lowes, but it did not come with an ice maker, and Lowes was apparently unable to order one for us, due to shipping/supply issues. After a couple months of buying bags of ice, I called Westside Appliance and they promptly ordered a new ice maker and installed within a week of my phone call. I was very impressed by their service and would recommend them to anyone.

The service tech was a bit snippy when he called with the time of the service window, and I told him I specifically put in my request that was the time we could NOT meet someone at the house. He gave me the 'office staff dont get my job' story. Worked out, though, that he was on the backend of the timeframe and had to wait only 10 minutes for me to get there. Once we had the quote for repair, which was more expensive than a new appliance, I hoped to get some input on makes and models. He just shrugged. Geez, I'm not asking for a commitment or guarantee; I'm just trying to do some research! This was the second time I had used them. Unsure whether I'll try them again.

We called Westside and had a great experience setting up the appointment for service, even with a tight schedule. Got an appointment set up for the next day (not saying that's going to happen every time). Got a call the morning of the appointment with a good time frame to expect the technician. Fortunately we were just a simple fix, but the tech got the problem fixed for us in a reasonable time frame and communicated the problem to us so we would understand. He also went through how to maintain and prevent the problem from happening again. The service we received was also reasonably priced as well.

This company just saved me a service call. I was having an issue with my dishwasher and scheduled a service call on-line. They called back to ask questions about the problem and were able to diagnose it over the phone and tell me how to fix it. They didn't get this service call but they earned every other service call I may have in the future. Honesty and integrity always wins out in my book!

Washer broke on the weekend, but it was easy to go online and make an appointment. Monday morning I got a call to confirm the appointment and problem. Technician was great and diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly. No waiting days for parts. Based on my description of the problem online, they had a part on the way. I highly recommend them! Easy hassle free process. Our refrigerator was leaking water and a technician, Brad , was able to quickly diagnose and fix the issue. I have used Westside Appliance for 14 years and was always happy and in fact have recommended them many times to friends, but my last experience was a nightmare, with no apology or compensation from the manager so therefore I am not impressed. After two trips with one repairman, who broke my shut off valve under my sink and did not tell me, and then left my house after his second trip with my dishwasher still not fixed! Told me to wait until Sunday and try it........well it did NOT work after spending 660.00 on it! I called and a wonderful repairman, James, who is so knowledgeable came and found the broken valve and after working on the dishwasher gave me the news it needed a drain pump. We decided it was not worth fixing a 14 year old dishwasher, so we are getting a new one! James was wonderful and went on to fix my range perfectly! (My range also needed work)However, I can't believe that Westside Appliance has not reached out to me with an apology or some compensation for their first repairman who took my money and had not fixed my dishwasher! I am done calling or recommending Westside Appliance for sure! Very disappointed in them! I would like to add to my previous review, that I have heard from Tim the service manager and he did apologize to me and also got me a decent refund for all the issues we experienced! So I am much happier now about Westside Appliance! Thank YOU Tim and James too! James is amazing!

Our dishwasher was not draining, Jeff came out and replaced the drain tube needed replaced. He did everything in a timely manner. Highly reccomend their services. We did have a different company come our before hand and they claimed nothing could be done. Don't waste your money, just call Westside Appliances and get it done right!

When I first called them I was greeted by a friendly woman in the office. She was open and honest about when they had the next available appointment. She told me the cost, timing, and that the technician would call that morning with timing. He called told me the time frame that he would arrive. I have never needed an appliance repair technician but that came to an end when my nearly new Maytag acted up after an old cotton comforter blew up in the dryer. The problem was an end user issue and I am pleased I made a good decision and had the professionals fix this issue. I was extremely impressed with the service provided by Levi, the repair technician from Westside Appliance Repair. He was courteous, friendly and professional. That by itself would not prompt me to post a review - the following would. After repairing the washer, he noticed there was a bad smell to the water, he offered to start a load of wash or run Afresh through a cycle. Told me about the deal they had for fireplace cleaning and helped me out with our refrigerator. Very happy customer :) We recently had to have someone out to fix our refrigerator. The store where we purchased our refrigerator referred us to Westside Appliance. One of the technicians came out and tried to fix our problem and to make a long story short, he couldn't figure it out. I had to call back and they sent out Kris to see if he could help me. Had decent experiences with this place in the past, but not any more. My fireplace had a gas smell when I ran it so I called them. The technician said the valve was bad and it would need to be replaced. He then proceeded to charge me $200 to run a vacuum cleaner around it and told me he would call me later that day with an estimate on the valve. Five days later, no call back. After several attempts I was able to get hold of some guy mumbling to me on the phone that he couldn’t understand the notes the tech left, but would find out and call me back later that day. Big surprise... never called me back. Very unprofessional, and I am taking my business elsewhere. Update - Westside did send someone out and they repaired my fireplace at a discount. My comments are nothing personal, I was just escalating something that needed attention. Unfortunately in today's world that escalation can become public.

I'm so happy that out of all the appliance company that service the West Des Moines area, my luck landed me with Westside. Their communication was amazing from start to finish: I received a follow-up call concerning my appointment, a second call when the part to repair my unit had arrived, and a text the day of my appointment that gave me plenty of head's up when to head home from work. I finally decided to give up on that company, so I called Westside appliance on a Friday afternoon. They had a next day Saturday appointment available. On Saturday morning, they called and told me what time they would show up and they showed up on time. Taylor was very friendly and knowledgable and offered us additional information about our unit. Just had our dryer vent cleaned today. The technicians put booties over their shoes before entering my home and then asked if I wanted them to wear masks. Very friendly and professional. Jeff came out and fixed our dishwasher within 20 mins! This was AFTER I had a competitor out 3 times plus a plumber - the competitor blamed plumbing and the plumber blamed the dishwasher. Oy vey! Jeff was professional, courteous, and very thorough. He took time to explain what was wrong, how he fixed it, and educate me on how to best clean the dishwasher. Jeff provided tips along the entire way! Thankfully, our dishwasher was still under warranty - so, I cannot speak to charges per se, however, whatever it is they charge is surely worth it for the level of service provided! Levi was on-time, he was fast, and was very thorough and efficient - and he had all the parts on his truck to repair both appliances. He was in and out in about an hour and had everything back in working order. I was very impressed with the technician and with this company.

I have always had positive experiences with Westside Appliance Repair, but my most recent experience was outstanding. My technician, Ryan, stayed in touch with me over a couple day period to make sure my refrigerator was cooling properly. When he realized it wasn’t, he returned, took care of it, AND spoke to the manufacturer as he believed it was their issue. He was correct, it was their issue, and they covered it. He also helped me solve a problem with my gas range while he was out. He saw the problem, ordered the part, someone called when the part came in and he came back to do the repair. Everything is working like a charm now, but I certainly won’t hesitate to call again. I appreciate the professionalism from the phone call to the service.

We had issues with the stove beyond the reason for the service call, and he took the extra time to help us solve those issues, after the original problem was repaired. This was my first time working with Westside Appliance. I was EXTREMELY impressed. They got a service technician to my house within ONE day of my call. Our refrigerator was leaking and the ice maker was broken. I was sent an e-mail with a photo of my technician before he arrived, which I really appreciated (security reasons). Our repair guy, Levi, called when I was told he would, and texted a few minutes before he arrived. He was clean-cut, friendly, and informative. I had a lot of questions, and he was patient in answering them. I couldn’t believe he had the new ice maker model in his truck! I thought we were going to need to order parts and have to have him come back, but he was able to replace it the same day! I had more questions after he left, and he kindly replied to several of my texts after the visit. As it turned out, the fridge started leaking again, a few days after he left. I called back Westside back, and they got Levi back out to my house within a day of my call. They totally stood behind the original repair work, and did not charge me at all for the second visit. He knew right away why it had started leaking again — and fixed the problem. I highly recommend this company, and I wish I would have know about them a lot sooner. First time using Westside Appliance very pleased with the technician. He fixed my washer and dishwasher. The dishwasher was under warranty no charge. My washer wouldn't drain and he got it working. There were nails, bullets and $5.50 worth of changes that had clogged it.This was on a Friday, had to call them on Saturday as I was still getting the same error on my washer. He came back on Tuesday realized it was the pump that also needed to be replaced, as the change ruined it.. We were not charged another service call. He smelled gas in the laundry room, which we did not. Called Mid American and we had 2 gas leaks. Thanks to him it probably saved our lives. I would call them again and recommend them to anyone.

My Whirlpool gas oven had a bad ignitor. The tech diagnosed it quickly and was probably done within an hour. Making an appointment online was easy. The tech communicated well and showed up on time. My only issue was the $119 diagnostic fee which wasn't explained until after he told me what the problem was. I was ok with that until he explained I would also pay labor for the repair. From what I can tell by googling a price for the ignitor, it should cost between $40-80 (price not listed on invoice). I was charged $320. Service was great and based my rating on that alone, but the price left a bad enough taste in my mouth that I would do a little homework and try someone else next time.

The dispatch gives you a set date and time window, then the technician calls you the morning of and gives you an exact arrival time + window... it really helps to plan the day vs. receiving a "we'll be there sometime between 8-5" and you have to take the whole day off. Doug, our technician, is very professional and explains what has to be done and why. Luckily we're covered on an insurance policy we bought from NFM. Doug has unfortunately had to come out 3 times now for our fridge/freezer (it's a factory lemon, in my opinion)... which is a nightmare but the fact that we're working with the same technician on every event is unheard of. The service from Westside Appliance was excellent. I was a little shocked by the price. The tech was in my house for about 25 minutes and the trip cost me $370. I had an issue with my dishwasher and a little plastic piece inside my ice maker was broken. The tech fixed the ice maker in 10 minutes and then looked at the dishwasher. The dishwasher just needed to have the screen on the bottom cleaned off. I was using a cheap detergent and it was building up on the drain. So, for $370 the tech replaced a part that I could have purchased online for $89 and showed me how to clean the drain in my dishwasher. Every aspect of the service was professional and done correctly. The price just seemed a bit high to me. If you're not concerned about the price I would highly recommend Westside Appliance. Doing a little math... The drive from their shop to my house is a 10 minute drive, the tech was in my house for 25 minutes. That makes a total trip time of 45 minutes. $370 minus the cost of the part is $281. That comes to an hourly rate of $375/hour. This hourly rate is only comparable to some of the more expensive doctors and lawyers in Des Moines.

Westside recently repaired my Maytag dryer. I called for service, they said they'd call the next day and give me a 2-hour window when the tech would come by. The tech called first thing in the morning and came out when he said he would. My dryer's motor needed replaced; he had the part in his van and completed by repair in 30 minutes. They charge $72.99 for the first 15 minutes, then $20 for each additional 15 minutes. I was quite pleased at how fast the repair was completed. Reviewed possible causes, & told us to use cleaner tabs with citric acid (Affresh), monthly after initially running the cycles with it now. We weren't aware this cleaning was good maintenance to help with reason for suddsing. Took time with questions & experience with brands & repair issues with future replacement unit, as ours is 10yrs. old. Obviously experienced gentleman in this field. I just wanted a simple temporary fix but they showed me that I could get a long term fix with the same amount of effort and just a little bit more money. I had to edit this because of ano issue I had. They actually gave me the wrong kit and by the time I realized it is had installed it in my dryer. The only piece that I needed to get replaced to make it work was one felt piece. I went and got the piece and even though they made the mistake, they wanted to charge me for it. I ended up getting the fix for free but the hassle and frustration was unnecessary. They needed to fix their mistake right away instead of making me do more running around.

I generally like anything that is named after what it does. It makes life simple. A washer washes a dryer dries and a stove stoves. When my washer decided to abandon its namesake and just become a box that soaks my pants, it made my life unnecessarily complicated. Luckily I was referred to Westside Parts and Service who was able to get my washer washing again. Westside gave me fast, courteous services which I appreciate. The work was good on our ASKO Dryer. BUT I did a lot of the leg work- identifying part numbers, prices, and sources , and some of the diagnosis. Quoted $318 by the office who consulted with service dept. They refuse to give a straight answer on hourly rates for work, leaving it to the tech on site to quote AFTER your machine is disassembled. This case-told $450. After objection, lowered to $422 with the dryer in parts. Still $100 more than the office quote. I folded. They were there already, the price was close to Greens Appliance quote, but the "gotcha over a barrel" pricing approach is very offensive to me. One example- quoted $99 "trip charge" (see owner's counter review in reviews confirming the $99 trip charge) but Doug, the Tech says NO, it's $120 for MY Asko Dryer. Like the value of his time is different depending on the brand ? I repeat- I had already accurately diagnosed most of the parts and coordinated the pre-ordering of the parts. Then they add a "labor charge" based on a "blue book" of pricing. No real objection to that. In short- inaccurate& unpredictable pricing, lack of openness & transparency, no detailed invoice or breakdown, and a pricing plan that REQUIRES that the customer must "trust" whatever we're told after the job is half done. WSA person I spoke with claims this is std procedure in the industry- can that be true ?? I may consider WSA again IF I can nail down a fair and close to accurate price first. I will also take a better look at Green's Appl repair as they were more open, but priced higher- I thought. Turns out- about the same $ Glad we got it fixed, uncertain about warranty on the service, and the future is usually brighter.
