Went here for the first time the other day. Really fantastic camera store! Great selection of film, cameras and lenses. I've been shooting their own brand of catlabs 35mm black and white a lot lately and I really enjoy. They have good quality film developing supplies too. Plus they gave me a free small camera bag. Great experience. Definitely check it out if you're in the Boston area and shoot some of their film.

I’m there at least once a week. Omer and the team are full of advice and fun facts if you’ve got questions about cameras or film. Head’s up: bring a mask, as they are required at the time of this review (January 2023.) If you’ve got time to kill, stop by Third Cliff next door after for a morning bun 🥰

I was interested in getting into large format photography so I emailed CatLABS asking about a specific camera. Omer emailed me back quickly and suggested another camera that is lightweight and would be better to hike with. I purchased that camera, but was a little overwhelmed when it arrived! Omer offered a Google Meet so he could show me how the camera works. Then, when I was having trouble with one of the lenses, we got on Google Meet to go over the issue. There was an problem with that lens, so he sent me a new one. Really fabulous customer service all around - above and beyond. Also I've enjoyed their 4x5 black and white film, which is much less expensive than other brands.

Just purchased an amazing Leica film camera (circa 1950s) from this place. Omer was amazing and super helpful in teaching me about the camera and giving me a quick intro to film photography. I plan to continue getting my film developed here, and would highly recommend this place to anyone interested in “going retro” with their photography for the first time.

If you are into film (analog) photography, then this place is a must visit! I was met by the owner who literally spent over an hour with me telling me all the pros and cons of the different self film developing systems I was looking at. Such a wealth of information, plus lots and lots of inventory, felt like a kid in the candy store. They had everything from 35mm to large format cameras (with lens) waiting to be shot. Plus everything related to developing film at home to scanning your film to convert into digital.

Buying used 50 year old cameras can be a daunting experience, especially when buying from an unknown eBay source. However, the staff at CatLABS were very accommodating and more than willing to provide an inspection before purchase so I could have peace of mind. This is one of the only film focused photography stores open in the Boston area. Support your local.

At this time and age, the digital life growing at an unprecedented rate, and yet there are many good people whose main craft is analog photography. I live in Tel Aviv, and here, for a long time, there is no trace of the analogy prosses I was accustomed to. I was thrilled to find your company and ordered some items. I was amazed by the speed with which the equipment arrived in Tel Aviv, surprised by the uncompromising quality of the equipment, as in the good old days.

bought a Sinar 4x5 and Zeiss lens and did a local pickup - we wheeled and dealed for a case, polaroid film and more. Omer is very knowledgeable and amicable, this is my first 4x5. As well, he answers the phone and the lab has many accessories. I like the old school service and knowledge, and dont mind making the trip to Jamaica Plain to see actual cameras and pieces to further understand this new 4x5 field..(to me)

I love CatLABS JP! I won't get my film developed anywhere else. The price is hard to beat, customer service is great, and my scans turned out perfect. I would reccommend Catlabs to anyone who shoots analogue.

The camera was as described but the lenses were missing caps, which any reasonable buyer would expect to mentioned in an eBay listing. Unfortunately, instead of apologizing and sending me replacements, which he claimed will cost $1, he got defensive and an attitude. I would not use them again. Item was listed as a 'ready to go' kit, which is clearly not the case. Now I need to find covers or caps. Disappointing and completely unnecessary.
