I was referred to Dr. Joe by my vet who specializes in acupuncture for dogs. I had been having severe, debilitating back pain... Not something you want or expect at 33! After just one visit, I felt an immediate difference. I hadn't ever had acupuncture before, and Dr. Joe was very considerate in answering all of my questions. He has a great bedside manner! My visits with Dr. Joe continue to improve my back issues. I've even started riding my horse again! I'm officially a convert! I highly recommend Dr. Joe for the newbies and experienced alike!

My very first acupuncture experience. I must say it was well worth it. Dr. Joe was very courteous and professional. He really put my nerves at ease. I have chronic pain, mostly in my back. But I also suffer from frozen shoulder. Let me just say "Wow". After one session, the pain in my shoulder is practically gone! I barely felt the needles when he inserted them. He then hooked those needles to electrodes and the sensation of my muscles involuntarily twitching felt a little weird at first. But it didn't hurt in the least. Truly, after this first session, the range of motion in my shoulder did increase! After about 20 minutes of quiet time, Dr. Joe then did cupping on my shoulder and upper back for about 10 minutes. It really relieved the tension I was holding in my muscles. I've already booked my second appointment for next week! I would highly recommend Dr. Joe and the good folks at True Acupuncture and Wellness. It's an effective tool in the arsenal to help you combat chronic pain. 💯

I came to see Dr. Joe because I had been experiencing long covid for nearly 3 months that had essentially attacked my central nervous system. I had severe anxiety that came with this in addition to nausea, loss of taste and smell-and appetite, trouble sleeping, and a vibrating in my chest. Needless to say it was extremely disruptive to my life. After just 6 session all of my symptoms are gone except the anxiety-but that is significantly less severe. I went from having panic attacks a few times a week and not wanting to leave my house to feeling a little anxious from time to time. I am still in treatment and will be until the anxiety is gone. Dr. Joe knows what he is doing and he is very honest about the length of treatment and the outcome. This is not an overnight cure, but I am so impressed with how quickly I am feeling better. With each treatment I see improvement and I have a sense of hope that I did not have when I started seeing Dr. Joe.

I have been allergic to all types of bee stings for many years. Around the area I get stung my body will swell severely, burn, itch terribly, turn red, and last for 3-4 weeks. I've spent the past five years dealing with chronic groin and leg pain. As a result, I visited a variety of disciplines including physical therapy, injections from a pain management physician, orthopedic surgeon, nerve conduction studies, chiropractor. No one could get rid of the pain and at one point I was told a hip replacement was needed. Then I found Dr. Joe and the healing began!! UPDATE: So, I recently had a battle with poison ivy, something I am EXTREMELY allergic to. I initially took the Western medicine approach and went to an urgent care clinic and got a steroid shot and was prescribed a 6-day treatment course for methylprednisolone. I took the corticosteroids as prescribed and they worked well at suppressing my immune system's response to the poison ivy outbreak. However, after finishing the corticosteroid 6-day treatment, within 36 hours, the poison ivy had come back EVEN WORSE! I then sought out Dr. Joe's advice and he performed a SAAT procedure and provided me with some medicinal herbs. I have now been taking the medicinal herbs for 6-7 days, along with having the "ear seeds" in from the SAAT procedure, and it has COMPLETELY eliminated my poison ivy outbreak, something the corticosteroids completely failed to do. Dr. Joe is absolutely OUTSTANDING, and his treatment plans WORK unbelievably well! I will continue coming back!!

Dr. Joe is amazing! I was in severe upper back/shoulder pain and went to see Dr. Joe. I am a person who values convenience and efficiency, which was the first thing I noticed when I was looking for an acupuncturist (besides the other stellar reviews), the convenience of scheduling via his website is amazing! I was able to schedule a same day appointment (after I realized I scheduled my original appointment a week later than the day I was on my way to his office) for cupping and full body traditional acupuncture. Cupping was new to me, and please please please, you HAVE to try it (did you know the air in the cups smells differently after you have been cupped? and the individual cups of air can also smell differently?). Especially if you have ever wondered what its like to get a hug from an octopus. I have heard a lot of people complain about bruising with cupping in general, as someone who bruises extremely easily, I was shocked when the next day I only noticed a few faint cup outlines, and if I am being honest a bit disappointed. During the inserting of the acupuncture needles I barely felt anything, just a little sting. After my transformation into a pin cushion, Dr. Joe put on soothing natural sounds, turned down the lights and left the room. Not only did this treatment make my pain go from a 8-0, but it was also calming and soothing. I have been pain free for 3 weeks from my first session! I am very excited to go back for my next session, and am still working on convincing my husband I need to try his cosmetic acupuncture. There are few other acupuncturists I would see in the state of Tennessee, let alone the Nashville suburbs Franklin area.

Dr Joe is AWESOME! I had a horse riding accident & broke my neck years ago. I am surgically fused from C3-C7 & suffer chronic stiffness, soreness & limited range of motion. My goal is to continue ride & compete at the National level as long as humanly possible. My 1st neck treatment with Dr Joe increased my range of motion to the right by 50 degrees & significantly reduced my pain & stiffness. I can't wait to see how much improvement will be achieved after my entire treatment plan is completed. Acupuncture is saving my life. Okay, that may be a little drastic, but I haven't had a sinus infection in over a year. And I used to get horrible sinus infections 2-3 times a year. Acupuncture plays a huge role in making that happen. Dr. Joe is great. I have never had anything but a good experience with him. I love that cupping and tuina is part of every visit. I came to Dr. Joe in July after my orthopedist suggested acupuncture may help with my plantar fasciitis and unexplained shin pains. I called the phone number listed and I was pleasantly surprised to find that Dr. Joe himself answers the phone and sets up the appointments! The office is quiet and clean and Dr. Joe is always prepared for the appointment so I have never had to wait to be seen. He always asks if I have any specific complaints for the day so that we can work on those as well, like a headache or cramps. He is very professional and the rooms are always clean and relaxing. He also uses a variety of treatment modalities depending upon your complaint. Since I've been seeing Dr. Joe, I rarely, if ever, have any shin pain which is such a relief because they were so bad before that sometimes I could not bear weight on my legs. And I have suffered from them for YEARS. My plantar fasciitis has also greatly improved and I no longer feel like my heels are on fire every time I have to work on my feet for an eight hour shift. If you are thinking about acupuncture, especially if it is your first time, go to True Acupuncture. To say I feel fortunate to be treated by Dr. Joe would be an understatement. I have adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder) and if you know what it is you know it is not fun. And it seems to be a mystery to the medical profession - how to treat it, best methods, what works and what doesn't, what causes it, how long it lasts, are just some of the unanswered questions about frozen shoulder. So when I began to think about finding an acupuncturist in the area, I was very reluctant. I have had the same condition on the other shoulder 10 years ago and went through a lot. My first visit with Dr. Joe I could tell he was very focused and present. He asked all the right questions and listened attentively even though I am sure he does this all day long. I found Dr. Joe via a google search. I was at my Wits end and will to try anything. I had been up for 3 nights with an earache. I had been to the doctor and emergency room with no relief that week. Joe is a great acupuncturist in the Franklin, Tennessee area! He shines in chronic and acute pain cases, and can also help with stress and anxiety. I had upper back pain (between my scapula). There was a little numbness and tingling, but after 5 sessions, the bad sensations are pretty much GONE. It is so nice to finally have the weird tingling sensation go away.
