Reviews of Spira Power Yoga

Great slow-flow Sunday PM class with Alyssa. I’ve been looking for a slower, more mindful practice that still gives me great movement, and Alyssa’s Yin/Yang class on Sunday PM at 5:30 was fantastic! If you’re looking for a slow vinyasa and yin poses, a dose of wisdom, and a welcoming environment at all levels, check this one out. I live in Ballard but I’ll be coming back!

If you are looking for a yoga studio, this is a great choice whether you are new to yoga or an experienced practitioner. I have been practicing yoga for over a decade; have been to multiple studios across Seattle, the Eastside, and the country; been in yoga teacher trainings; etc. and I can honestly say that Spira is one of the best in the area. All of the teachers are great and the owner is a very knowledgeable practitioner with a heart of gold and beautiful values.

At Spira Yoga, I get my daily dose of mindfulness along with a range of yoga classes, from challenging power yoga to soft flows and guided meditations. The variety of classes and workshops really hits the spot for all of life's daily ups and downs.
I love the studio because their classes make me feel strong in both mind and body. And as an avid jiujitsu practitioner, I can say that yoga really compliments the sport. So thankful for Spira Yoga!

I have been practicing yoga regularly for about 10 years and have been going to Spira for two to three years. The classes offered are the perfect combination of a vigorous workout with plenty of healthy stretching. All the instructors are incredibly skilled and knowledgeable and offer plenty of modifications for different practice levels. The heat is just right too - the studio is usually heated to about 89 degrees, so hot enough to get nice and limber and work up a great sweat without being too hot like bikram. Overall, a yoga experience you'll love for sure!!!

Spira Yoga Studio is awesome!!! The class I took from Dora was challenging and inspiring! I saw all levels of students- and the class was challenging for all. Spira is one of the best yoga studios I have been to in seattle area, very welcoming vibe! I will definitely be back! 😊 …

Gorgeous spa-like atmosphere and brand new space in Issaquah to practice yoga in. Teachers are all fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable. The east side finally gets to benefit from a powerful, strength building and mindful Vinyasa flow that West Seattle has raved about. Passes and memberships are honored at both locations. Best thing to happen to yoga in Issaquah!

One of the best yoga classes I’ve ever been to. I hadn’t practiced in years. The instructor was easy to follow and encouraging. Classmates were welcoming and polite.

Dora was provided a wonderful practice in a relaxed setting. I got exactly what I needed from this practice including a good sweat, an excellent full body stretch and a renewed perspective on the day. Highly recommend.

Beautiful space and great teachers. The classes are truly all levels and kept between 85-90 degrees to avoid over-stretching and injury. Challenging for sure and you'll still sweat, yet it's mindful and breath-based. The focus is on the sensations of the body and breath and not a perfect posture. Excited that Issaquah can now benefit from these teachers and methodology :)

This studio is a gem!! I have been a faithful member for 5 years and I am still completely in love. The instructors are all knowledgable and offer strong, captivating flows that help body, mind and spirit. You know those workouts that you feel better after, than you did before?! - That's Spira!!!

I have been doing yoga at Spira for almost a year and I really love my experience. I recommend going to the Intro series first. I went through it twice until I can do the poses correctly. The all levels classes are challenging and I often have to rest in child's pose in the middle of the sequences, but I always leave feeling refreshed, relaxed and a bit stronger. The teachers here are very nice, and they let you borrow mats, towels, even hair ties if you forget.

The classes are varied enough that you never have a repeat class. The instructors fit the yoga life and they do speak and respect all levels. Highly suggest for a drop in or a membership, if you live locally.

I adore Spira. It’s a community and I felt at home there from the very first intro series with Dora (which I did twice). I moved away from Seattle for 18months to my home country and the thing I missed most was Spira. I love that there are no mirrors. I love that you are welcomed and not judged for falling out of a pose. It’s your practice. They help you with it but don’t judge or force. The teachers are wonderful and every class is different. It may not be the fanciest studio but it’s clean, bright and happy. And I love it there ❤️

Excellent instruction, great Issaquah location, warm, comfortable studio.
So happy Dora has opened her new studio in Issaquah!

A beautiful studio ; kind, helpful, and knowledgeable staff, and a nice community of friendly folks to practice with. The intro class on monday night's is great for anyone just starting out and interested in learning more about yoga, or people looking to get back into their practice after some time away. The mix level classes are challenging but grounded in yoga philosphy, so you are encouraged to practice your practice, and honor your body where you are TODAY. The room is heated, but not crazy hot, and there are private changing areas and a shower on site. So glad I found Spira :)

Waaaaaaaaay back in the day I attended a school to become a yoga teacher. Long story short, I discovered I’m happiest being a practitioner. However I learned what makes a great yoga teacher: it’s not about memorizing the names of asanas in Sanskrit (although it’s certainly cool), it’s knowing about the physical body and how it works. I’m always reluctant to take up practice in a yoga studio when the teachers clearly don’t possess any formal training on physiology--there is nothing scarier than putting your body in harm's way because a teacher is too busy waxing poetic on some hippie-speak about yoga. Dora and Regan are great teachers. They don’t just know the yoga asanas, they know what it means to connect them to the physical body and how postures affect specific muscles, tendons, and joints in the body. More importantly, they both know how to be in a posture without taking yourself too seriously. They don’t expect every student to be the next Sivananda, they're just grateful to lead you through what will be a great way to expand your body and connect with your spirit.

More like heated vinyasa class. Outdated facility. Friendly staff.
