Reviews of Junction Hot Yoga
Really great studio!! I'm happy I can safely practice yoga in a studio setting again :) The layout of the practice room is wide and there is plenty of room to spread out. The flooring in the studio makes it easy for everyone to social distance. It never feels too crowded, and there is a great energy in the room. I also appreciate the air filtration they've got going on during each class, as well as how clean the floors are every time I come in.
It's clear this studio is run by experienced yoga practitioners who have put a lot of care into the setup of the space; there isn't anything frivolous here. At Junction Hot Yoga, you get a safe space to practice with excellent instructors who really care about your well being. They push you to try hard and, at the same time, give helpful cues so you won't injure yourself during practice.
I'm glad to be part of this great community!
Love this studio. Have been practicing here off and on for a few years and have nothing but great things to say about the space itself as well as the ownership and management. I have been to a few studios in West Seattle, but what makes this one stand out is it's size since it is large enough to accommodate a good amount of people without feeling crowded. Also, the staff has always been very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Love seeing and supporting small businesses like this in our lovely WS neighborhood!
I'm fairly new to yoga, but I've been impressed with how Junction Hot Yoga is run. Audrey and the rest of the instructors have all been very helpful, welcoming, and provided plenty of verbose guidance. I also love the cushioned floors. I'm glad to be a part of this great community!
Great studio for hot/Bikram yoga! All the instructors I have encountered are friendly, competent and each have their unique style. I've always had good luck with Bikram yoga when I had musculoskeletal issues. Frozen shoulder, knee issues, back issues etc. Aggravated my knee doing construction and after a few months at JHY it seems close to normal again. Great place to go during the long winter.
Hot diggity! What a wonderful 1st class experience I had. The people who operate this hot yoga studio are exceptionally wonderful humans. Such a delight to have been introduced to hot yoga my first time in this gracious studio.
I started going to Junction Hot Yoga in October 2021 to try to resolve creeping middle-age aches and pains: debilitating sciatica caused by piriformis syndrome (a muscle irritating the sciatic nerve, resulting in crippling back, buttock, and leg pain) as well as thoracic outlet syndrome (a painful shoulder nerve irritated by tight muscles in my chest or neck, or poor posture). I also suffered from tendonosis (tennis elbow) and had some stress fractures over the years, so all in all, I wasn’t feeling great when I started. Every day it seemed I woke up to some nagging pain. I had already been to physical therapy for these issues with limited or impermanent results over the prior year or two.
I am thrilled to say that 9 months into my yoga journey of 2-3 classes per week, 95% or better of those annoying or even debilitating pains have resolved themselves. And I also feel younger, like 5 or 10 years has been taken off my age just by walking to class and putting in my best effort a few times per week. I’m not that athletic or strong, and I still struggle in quite a few poses, but I’m getting a little bit better every month. Also, my trainer at the gym has commented how my flexibility in my shoulders is much better than his other 40-something computer worker clients, and I attribute a lot of that to doing yoga here. Most important to me, though, is living a pain-free life again—that’s what I came for, and I’ve got that pain-free mojo back again!
One of the owners, Audrey, is one of the most encouraging, patient, and humble yoga instructors I’ve met. She makes efforts throughout the class and in different ways to remind students “the best you can do is perfect.” And offers variations of poses for different ability levels. You never feel like you need to be an Instagram yoga guru to participate in a class here and receive noticeable benefits over time with continued practice. Audrey and the team have created a grounded and welcoming space for all skill levels.
It took me about 30 days of going 2-4 times a week, and then I started to feel the benefits clearly, with greater duration and frequency of improvements as the months passed. I especially enjoy the Yin Yoga for deep, sustained stretches that get into tight hips and connective tissues that were probably playing a role in my aches and pains.
This is a great studio to go to, especially if you are a new student who might feel intimidated by starting or restarting your practice. The studio is also clean and well-kept.
Junction Hot Yoga offers a large/clean/hot studio, with spacious changing/shower rooms, and most importantly some excellent (looking at you Lorenze and Nicole) teachers. I have practiced at many studios over the past 10+ years and I would easily recommend Junction Hot Yoga to any NEW or seasoned yoga student. The hot hatha and heated vinyasa flow classes will have you feeling relaxed and revived.
Awesome yoga spot with authentic Ghosh classes. Audrey and Lorenzo consistently give phenomenal classes and provide extremely helpful feedback while giving me the space to practice at my own pace. Highly recommend this place.
I first came to junction hot yoga the week it opened in September. I had never done hot yoga before and was made to feel welcome and given extra instruction at first until I got into the swing of things. The facilities are clean and instructors knowledgeable. Their covid safety protocol allow me to enjoy a practice I wouldn't feel comfortable doing otherwise. I go to classes 4-5x a week and enjoy all the different types taught.
Junction Hot Yoga cares about your health! They opened this studio during the pandemic and they make sure that the space is cleaned after each class (I've seen them doing this consistently), everyone is masked up at all times except to drink. They make sure that everyone is vaccinated. The instructors are requested to quarantine if they've traveled on a plane. I've been to other studios where I did not feel safe at all. JHY is the best place to get your yoga on and know that you will stay safe!
