Reviews of Aya Yoga Oasis

Without a doubt 5 stars for Aya Yoga Oasis. I've practiced all over the Seattle area and this studio embodies everything you want in a studio. There are varying levels of classes and each teacher brings their own flare and style. Although I enjoy the classes it’s the sense to community that keeps me going to Aya. I would highly recommend this studio to ALL people and bodies. This is the first studio that feels like home and where I can truly "practice" in my own body and breath.

I starting going to Aya years ago. It was important to me to practice in a studio without mirrors with a community that honors diversity, seeks to create an inclusive and safe space for everyone. Yoga here is not performative. I'm reminded often that my practice is my own, it doesn't have to look or be a certain way. As a queer, fat yogi it can be scary to practice in community but at Aya I feel more than accepted. I feel celebrated and empowered. As everyone should be!

This place is amazing. I'm new to Yoga and have been attending classes here regularly for around 4 months. As a first-time yoga practitioner I find yoga studios to be intimidating, but not Aya Yoga Oasis. Carrie and her team of talented instructors make me feel so welcomed and looked after. Their classes are challenging, but not too challenging too deter me from coming more regularly. Their variety of classes and overall infusion of spirituality into their practices keep me interested and always wanting to come back again.

I am so thankful for this studio. It has been a great place to not only practice yoga but meet a lot of very kind people. I love that they offer a variety of classes as well including more work out type classes. I always look forward to coming in. Very appreciative of their support and good energy!

I went to Aya Yoga Oasis to improve my circulation and flexibility…. I found a welcoming, non-judgmental, and supportive community. P.S. my blood pressure is now in a normal range and I can easily touch my toes! Many thanks!

Aya's owner, Carrie, has been my primary yoga instructor for several years now. Her collaborative personal way of leading a yoga class, as well as her passion for community and total inclusion is awesome. Her beautiful new studio has now opened and I highly recommend that you become a member, as Aya Yoga Oasis is absolutely proving to be a wonderful place to practice yoga, meditate, and be part of a wonderful community!

From my first step in the studio, the space felt welcoming and inclusive. I really appreciate the thoughtful little touches such as the reading space with library. Carrie is an exceptionally kind, thoughtful, grounded and knowledgeable teacher. I wholeheartedly recommend Aya Yoga Oasis!

I've been a member at Aya since it first opened. So much about living during a pandemic caused me to take many months off from yoga classes and my personal yoga practice. With the announcement of in-studio classes resuming with above and beyond Phase Two precautions being met, I decided it was time to head back into Aya. With 3 kids and a partner all home all the time, streaming and/or video classes just don't work for me. I was extremely nervous about participating in an indoor, public activity so I reached out to the owner, Carrie. Her response was understanding, caring, and reassuring, so I took the plunge! The studio has always been kept immaculate, even pre-Covid, but Carrie and her husband Steve have gone to great lengths to do everything within their control to keep their instructors and students healthy. Class sizes are limited to far less than the 25% capacity required in phase 2 (only 6 students per class!), they keep doors open (don't worry, the heat works well!) for ventilation, they've brought in new air purifiers, and masks are required for everyone.
Of course, it still felt strange coming into an indoor, public space after nearly a year of avoiding this kind of thing, but it is clear that Carrie and Steve understand the importance of distancing, masking, and ventilating to keep folks healthy.
As for the yoga itself, Aya is a place that will meet you where you are. Instructors understand pandemic life has taken a toll on our physical activity and there is zero judgement. I am not even close to being in the physical (not to mention mental/spiritual) shape I was in a year ago and I feel cared for as I take the scary step into practicing yoga again.

this open, clean , and spacious yoga studio is a wonderful addition to Burien. Carrie, the owner, is a knowledgeable, kind and well-rounded teacher. Classes there are accessible and the teachers are welcoming and thoughtful. This beautiful space creates access to the many layers of yoga life!

Such a great yoga studio. It's warm and friendly, clean and comfortable. A good variety of classes with excellent teachers, in two different classrooms. I will try to get a picture the next time I get to a class 😊 It's really beautiful and bright. …

The 2 studios and adjoining rooms are beautiful and welcoming. There's a great range of classes on offer, from fiery heated vinyasa flows to ethereal meditative options to fluid unheated practice. The owner, Carrie, has a great vision for making this a true oasis where members and guests can practice, relax, and find a moment's (or several hours') worth of peace in a soothing space and accepting community. I love the inclusion of complimentary tea in the sitting area which encourages me to stick around as I reawaken after savasana and mingle with fellow yogis. There's even a reading room and lending library upstairs, stocked with books on wide-ranging topics that members can enjoy there, or borrow and take home for a bit!
Side note! If I had a layover at SeaTac, I'd certainly consider taking a Lyft over to Burien (it's just 10 mins from the airport!) to squeeze in a class or even some self-guided open studio time between flights. Bonus: there's some real tasty restaurants within walking distance of the studio to grab a bite after a class, or pick up take-out to take back to the terminal while waiting to board.

One of the best yoga studios in town. A lot of fun and really laid back. They really care about the quality of teachers, equipment, and atmosphere they provide.
