The teachers at St. Paul Yoga Center are friendly, warm, and have a high degree of expertise. The classes that I have attended have pushed me just the right amount and the teachers have made the classes fun. It's a well run studio, very clean and it's easy to find on the corner of Selby and Dunlap in St. Paul.

I have had such a different and unique experience in my first week at St. Paul Yoga Center than at the many other studios I have gone to. I am finding more frequent assistance and help from the instructors, more focus on areas I now feel I was lacking in such as alignment and technique, and just more challenging posture options and variety in general. I feel like I have learned more at this studio in one week than I would have in many months at other studios I have frequented in the past. All the instructors have been so friendly and helpful as well as being very knowledgeable and passionate about the yoga they teach.

I love the classes and instructors here. I was brand new to yoga and did the intro workshop and beginners class. They also do several advanced forms of yoga. The instructors walk around the room and make sure people are in the right positions, very attentive. Class payments are very flexible with options for convenient online payment and registration. I highly recommend this place.

St. Paul Yoga Center is always clean, bright, and classes begin and end on time. The class I attend is with Julie. She is very seasoned, always watches for possibly of injury with her class, and has much energy. Her classes are always varied and she makes new to her class folks feel welcome. However, her Sunday morning class is pretty sweat-inducing so you may want to choose a class specifically for beginners so you can really learn and practice the poses. I'm very clumsy and stiff yet I still find yoga at St. Paul yoga a great way to use my muscles in a less stressful way. (I'm a runner and it has helped my running very much.) I've been going regularly for almost two years and I learn something new in every class. I would highly recommend St. Paul Yoga for those folks who feel self-conscious in studios with the perfect bodies and the advanced poses. St. Paul Yoga welcomes anybody who wants to develop a good practice and they make you feel good about your yoga accomplishments.

I dropped in on a donation class that Clare was conducting on a Sunday afternoon. My yoga practice has been neglected for quite awhile, but Clare made me feel safe, comfortable, and confident! She is a warm and caring instructor. I will highly recommend The Saint Paul Yoga Center to my friends and coworkers. The facilities are great and provide all the props and supports I needed to fully engage with my practice. Thank you for offering drop-in and donation classes.

It's amazing how the St. Paul Yoga Center was able to pivot in March and offer quality online yoga classes that make me come back again and again. These are so much better than a random video from YouTube, because the instructor creates a community of practitioners and offers one-on-one advice. I love these classes!

I've attended 2 classes with Paul, and found them both to be an extremely personalized experience. Paul is very knowledgeable about poses, yoga, and the body. My class was completely different from past experiences at corporate yoga studios and I'd urge anyone interested to attend a drop in class.
Things that were new to me: much more use of props, which helped me get more into poses; no mirrors on the walls, so it felt much lower pressure to look or perform a certain way; more individualized attention; no music (unless you count Paul's chanting).
Also, I brought my boyfriend who had never done yoga, and he found it very accessible and plans to keep going!

Iyengar yoga (and the stellar Iyengar yoga instructors!) at the St Paul Yoga Center is a top reason for me to feel grounded, peaceful and healthy on a day to day basis. The instructors are consistently fantastic at what they do. I constantly think to myself after their 90 minute classes that health insurance should absolutely be covering this. For me personally, it is a method of healing (and maintenance of health) which uses both movement and absence of movement (stillness), strength, and balance to impart wellness into my life at an exponential level. I can't speak highly enough about the St Paul Yoga Center!

A great St. Paul resource. I take a prenatal class here with an amazing instructor (Clare) who is also a midwife so she really understands women's bodies, the changes they are going through, and the impact to the baby. The class is pay what you can and so unlike many of the more expensive options out there, this one is accessible for any prospective mama. The class is a supportive and nurturing environment and the instructor really makes sure students feel they can adjust the poses as needed for what they need that day. Best decision I've made during my pregnancy is to take this class.
Richel Burkey-Harris
Supportive atmosphere; experienced, compassionate, and dedicated teachers; and beautiful open spaces! Also, each class gracefully accommodates multiple levels of experience and flexibility. One of the first yoga studios to open in St. Paul and still a gem.
Roberta Krech
Love my Thursday night classes! Great instructor Paul Busch. Takes time to talk with us see where our week has been, then decides on a plan for our night. I am 58 and overweight i feel comfortable here; accepted, rare to find

This yoga studio is authentic, the teachers compassionate, and the experience is right in line with my self care goals.Danielle is exceptional. She is empathetic, aware of positions that help the body, and encouraging of folks taking care of their body. She knows much about sincere yoga (not the marketed variety) and is able to help us use it to feel better. It has been a lovely experience to be in her class.

St. Paul Yoga Center is a great place to take yoga classes. I've yet to have a teacher who wasn't willing to work through a student's physical issues or limitations. Feed back and corrections from teachers are always helpful and never given harshly. This is the best studio I've ever taken classes from.
Jeannette George
The only service I have used is one class, Therese Pritchett's Ageless Yoga, which I have been attending for several years now. She is a terrific teacher, does a nice blend of active/challenging and restorative poses, and incorporates mindfulness seamlessly into the classes. I also like the physical space and the feeling that this is a community gathering place.
Zoe LaLonde
I've tried many different studios over the years, but by far St. Paul Yoga Center is my favorite. Not only are the instructors generous, kind, and helpful, but the studio provides an incredible amount of mats, props, and other devices to assist your practice. Anybody can come as they are to SPYC and find something wonderful to do and learn. Hope to see you there!
Bruce Larson
I love this place. So far I have taken classes from Shannyn Joy Potter, William Prottengeier and Paul Busch. They are very friendly, keenly knowledgeable, and provide exceptional instruction. Looking forward to exploring other classes from the drop-in schedule as well. Thanks Saint Paul Yoga Center!
Ingrid Haugen
Danielle teaches the best restorative yoga class I've tried. Anyone who wants to renew themselves could benefit from this class, including those with many levels of physical impairment or pain. Danielle encourages every student to take time to set up a variety of bolsters, blankets, blocks, chairs, and sandbags to allow them to be comfortable and completely supported in each pose. There's plenty of time to meditate, breathe, and release in each pose.

I have enjoyed many teachers at this yoga center, and like the peaceful energy of the yoga spaces. I now rent the studio 6 times a year for CranioSacral Therapy Classes and yoga workshops, and always enjoy dealing with the new owner. (The old owner was great too!) It would be hard for us to move our classes to a different space now that we are used to the peaceful surroundings here.
Gail Lewellan
I appreciate the many teachers at St. Paul Yoga Center who bring both skill and a spiritual perspective for our practice. The teachers readily adapt yoga practice to the unique qualities, challenges and requests of the students. Thanks very much for providing this opportunity for students of all abilities and ages.

Love the instructors who are seasoned yoga professionals. Studio has a great ambiance, The studio is conveniently located close to my house, and offers classes at a number of days and times that work with my schedule. Love this yoga studio!
Monica Schultz
The knowledge of your teachers is amazing. How they are able to work with each student individually, adjusting postures via blankets, blocks, chairs, or just a soft touch or word. I also love they way subtle moves are valued - and not the "Yoga Journal cover photo" postures. Thank you!!
David Epstein
This is a great yoga studio. That is what they do. No spa treatments, no cross selling, teachers with over 280 year combined yoga experience they tell me. I learned the fundamentals here which helps for anything else called yoga. There are teachers and classes for any level you want.If you want a studio that lives up to the name yoga, this is it.

St Paul Yoga Center teaches real yoga classes with qualified and knowledgeable instructors. They are able to help you through a variety of yoga movements and poses regardless of your fitness level. This is not a place for those who want to push their bodies to the extreme but if you're into mindful movement that respects your body this is the place for you.
Rebecca Miller
I love going to classes with Terese Pritschet. She's an awesome teacher of yoga and I appreciate her broad/inclusive perspective. The space of the St. Paul Yoga Center is wonderful. Everything we need is available.
Ella
This studio is for people who want to get in touch with their inner spirit. There is no pressure of the “corporate “ yoga studios. Everyone here wants to learn more, they are not worried about what their body looks like or what clothes they wear. It is a safe space.
Maria Toso weaves together the mind and body connection seamlessly. I value her wisdom and gentle, compassionate nature. Love the Buddhist threads and philosophies she integrates.
Jacqueline Fortier
If you want real yoga with real yoga teachers, who have tons of experience, check out St. Paul Yoga on Selby. They are extremely knowlaedgable and dedicated, and call you by your name. You’re not just another person in the room that has fallen under the spell of yoga. They deeply care about either restoring your body if you have issues that you need to deal with, or deepening your yoga practice, whether spiritual or physical. I am constantly amazed by their sense of including different types of people, ages, and bodies.
Hopeful Agnostic
I enjoyed my instructor, the space is inviting and convenient, and the cost to take classes reasonable. Also there are enough classes on the schedule that I feel as if I will be able to continue on a regular basis after my introductory workshop concludes.
Liz Cochran
The focus on safe, effective alignment in poses; instructors who encourage modifications; the willingness of instructors to teach new approaches and poses they learn through their teachers. I love the cozy, focused space.
Meghan Hatalla
After practicing vinyasa-style yoga for a few years, I took a single class at St Paul Yoga Center. It was a completely different style and speed from which I was used to, but I felt that I learned more in one class with Paul than I had in 2 years at CorePower! Highly recommended as at least a supplement to your practice elsewhere!

Highly recommend this studio focused on Iyengar yoga. The online classes have helped me weather the pandemic and keep grounded. The teachers are all excellent and accessible, providing adjustments and guidance for injuries & aches/pains.

First of all, I LOVED that the temperature was 78 degrees when I walked in. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing. The available bolsters and blocks were appreciated and the instructor was great. It was a challenging class for me and helpful tips were provided. I hope to visit again soon.

What I like best about the STP Yoga Center: The environment: the studios are lovely, roomy, light-filled, he equipment you have for use is a huge plus (bolsters, straps, rugs, etc.), bathroom and sink are very much appreciated! Location: convinent. Staff: FABulous, especially the amazing Clare Welter.
Nicola Koh
the instructors are great: clear and patient guidance and, most importantly, show a lot of respect even reverence for the tradition. (a welcome break from the commercializing epidemic.)
space is also very nice

I really enjoyed the prenatal yoga class with Eve. I appreciated the one free class to give it a try. It felt like a great and comfortable place to try out yoga and be with other mamas-to-be.
jane heaton
The knowledge the instructor has of yoga, the monitoring the instructor does of client's position to ensure it is correct, the willingness of the instructor to modify positions to suit client's ability, and the respect shown to all.
Diana Meier
My teacher does an amazing job of integrating ancient yoga philosophy & wisdom into our classes, and helping me understand how to use it in my current life. I feel challenged and nourished by my classes.

Excellent instruction! I’m amazed by how much instruction occurred despite the tiny of trickle of information (viewing angle, partial visibility, etc) over Zoom. I’m grateful for the instruction and wanted to send my sincere thanks for your efforts!

I like that the instructors take the time to teach to my body type, and their approach to instructing all kinds of individuals about yoga as a practice, not just as "exercise."
