Reviews of Blooma Minneapolis
Estefania Lopez
While preparing for our first baby, hiring Blooma as our doulas was the best decision. They were booked for that month but somehow managed to get us in thankfully. Jess and Jessica are extremely knowledgeable, empathic, kind, and prompt to respond to all our communication. The prenatal meetings and prenatal education classes made us feel prepared to welcome and care for our son when he arrived.
I had a long labor and a challenging delivery, and I don’t know what I would’ve done without Jess by our side. During labor and through birth, Jess was right there to offer support and advice when I needed it and was a source of comfort, calm, and inspiration when I felt like I couldn’t keep going.
Since we’ve brought our son home, Blooma has continued to support and help us adjust to life with our new baby. We love and unequivocally recommend Blooma across the board!

Kristy is amazing! I've had dozens of massages before and she is hands down one of the best. Deep tissue, you got it! Relax and unwind, no problem. Cupping to break up that tension, no problem. Blooma is wonderful place to go for a variety of services. I am so glad I found Kristy there. She has been instrumental in my well-being during and after my pregnancy. I plan to see her for years to come!

Why doesn’t google have 10 stars because the Blooma Doulas deserve way more!
We didn’t have a doula for our first baby and regret that. I thought my supportive husband and family would be enough. But for our second, I wanted MORE. Having Jess Quinn and Sarah Longacre in our corner was an added layer of love. I felt so nurtured from the start of interviews, through our postpartum visit and beyond. I now consider these women my friends, especially Jess who was by my side through some of the toughest moments. Pregnancy is hard. Labor is hard. Birth is hard. Postpartum is hard. Do yourself a favor and hire this incredible team to make it easier…and way more fun! If we ever have a third pregnancy/kid in the future, they are the first ones I’m calling.

What a special place for birthing people and parents. I’ve come here 3x to see Molly for a 60 minute prenatal massage and have the best experience every time. The whole atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and the service is always relaxing and I have peace of mind doing it at a place especially for moms. I recommend it to all my friends!

For my first pregnancy, I have been working with Kristy for prenatal massages. I started having my appointments around 20 weeks and have seen Kristy for more than 5 appointments so far and she is absolutely amazing. She listens to your concerns very carefully and every single time after my massage I feel so much relaxed and all the pain and tension in the body is released. She is very knowledgeable, positive and supportive.I would highly recommend Kristy to everyone for her excellent skills.

I learned of Blooma when I was looking for doulas and planning out my birth plan. I had no clue how instrumental the community would become for me on my pregnancy journey. Not only did I have my doulas, but then I met Kristy who was about 2mo behind me in my due date/pregnancy. Early during the pandemic, there were so many unknowns. But, I knew I needed to focus on self-care. Kristy was that for me then and now! I love our time together - Blooma is my happy place - during my pregnancy and after!

Blooma is the absolute BEST - we felt so supported in every step of the way through our pregnancy journey. The prenatal yoga classes made me feel physically great through pregnancy, and the prenatal education (we did quite a few - including spinning babies, newborn/breastfeeding, and a traditional birth courses) made both my partner and I feel well equipped for all that was to come as first time parents. However, the shining star is the DOULA CARE! The best decision we made was to sign up for doula care through Blooma. Shout out to Jess Quinn for being our rock throughout our very long and arduous labor and delivery… she was with us in the hospital for 24 hours with a labor that ended in c-section. we both could not have done it without her. She went above and beyond in her care and it truly was a labor of love. Sarah Longacre was also an amazing support through pregnancy and beyond. We cannot say enough good things about Blooma! We will be forever grateful for the love and support we received through the whole team.

Blooma was amazing throughout my pregnancy, delivery and postpartum experience. We took several parenting classes there, including topics such as breastfeeding, infant sleep, safety/CPR/choking, cloth diapering and more. We also hired a birth doula, Jess Quinn, who was actual sunshine in human form. Not only does she have incredible kindness and a big heart that makes it comforting to be around her, but Jess' knowledge and experience was so helpful to us in making decisions for our birth plan and in my and our child's care throughout the end of pregnancy and during the birth process. When we found out I needed a c-section, she helped to answer my questions, understand how to advocate for myself throughout the process, and she played an incredibly supportive role for my partner while I was not able to be with him. She alleviated my concerns and worries and comforted me during surgery, and as a bonus took the most amazing photos and videos of our birth experience. I never thought I needed those, but they are absolutely some of my most treasured photos and memories now. I cannot recommend enough having a doula to support your birth process. After my child was born, I also saw a Blooma lactation specialist and IBCLC, Jessica Underwood who also was kind and incredibly knowledgeable for helping me improve my breastfeeding relationship and skillset with my newborn. Overall, 20/10 recommendation for this incredible company, its experienced team and the overall experience in every facet of my interactions with them.

Hiring Blooma doulas Jess Quinn and Sarah Branion might have been the best thing we did for our pregnancy/birth. Throughout pregnancy, it was incredibly reassuring to know they were just a text or call away with answers to my “is this normal?!” questions and suggestions when I was uncomfortable. Both are extremely knowledgeable about all things birth and babies and are always upbeat, positive and encouraging.
While my husband and I appreciated both Sarah and Jess’ support throughout pregnancy, we were especially grateful for Jess’ presence during our son’s birth. There were dozens (probably hundreds) of moments that she cared for us during labor and after, in big and small ways. As plans changed, having her calm presence by our side was invaluable.
Thank you, Jess and Sarah - we are so grateful to both of you. Now that we’ve experienced birth with a doula, we’ll never go without!

Leona and Jessica were extremely supportive before, during, and after birth. If you're thinking at all about having a birth Doula, do it. The difference in perspective from our midwife team was so valuable at many stages during birth. Leona did a phenomenal job helping my wife remain calm and focused while delivering our son. Highly recommend.

I had a prenatal massage with Jessica and it was WONDERFUL!! I’ve heard others say that prenatal massages are sometimes too light of pressure that it’s not even worth it, not with Jessica! The pressure was fantastic and she worked so hard on my trapezius and neck, per my request. She ensured I was comfortable when changing positions and was so great to chat with! Can’t wait to see her again.

Blooma has been invaluable in our pregnancy and birthing journey. We struggled with infertility and miscarriages, so I knew we needed to be proactive in making this a good experience. I did a doula package which included three months of fitness classes and birthing and lactation classes. I did in-studio yoga and Barre up until 37 weeks. It made such a difference: I was back to my pre birth weight ten days post delivery with no dieting or exercise! The birthing classes were great and virtual. We did attend an in-person infant CPR and first aid which was great. The best parts were a weekly pregnancy centering group to connect with other mama to bes on Zoom plus our doula. Our delivery and breastfeeding were difficult: I can't imagine it without Sarah Branion. She was calm and never pressured me, I felt in control of my decisions, like advocating for a vacuum assist after 2.5 hours with no progress of active pushing. She was hands on but not pushy. For her post doula visit, she even threw out expired food in our fridge and made us a snack (we were so tired). Blooma is SO worth the finances. It was invaluable in our journey.

My partner and I took the birthing class with Mari in October 2018. It's a great and welcoming atmosphere. Since then I took babywearing friendly barre and prenatal yoga at the Plymouth location leading up to the birth of our child. Now we're doing bring your own baby yoga along along with the babywearing friendly barre class and free new mama group. Blooma has truly become a part of the journey. The instructors and staff are phenomenal - they have grown to know you and your family.

Blooma is AMAZING!! They were my saving grace when I was pregnant and after my daughter was born. It’s a safe space for woman to go and feel supported and love. There are so many great resources at Blooma available to help nurture woman through this very beautiful time.

Amazing childbirth education, pre and postnatal yoga, and doula support. I’m done having babies, but still love to practice here because the community is so supportive and amazing!

I fully applaud all that they do for yoga and pre-natal yoga! All of our classes we have attended have been well worth the money. Very informative and well-informed staff. Some of the best I've experienced.
However, the service and information regarding childcare has been subpar. If you plan on signing up and relying on the childcare so that you can attend the classes then DO NOT sign up here. This is why I only give it three stars. The yoga and everything fitness, community related is great, but the childcare (which makes it a family yoga studio, right?) is the biggest headache. We've been signed up there for 5 months and have MOST of the time been on a waiting list. So, there's never a guarantee for childcare. All the spots fill very fast.

I have been going to Blooma for the last four years. As a male- who is not pregnant!- I do enjoy attending classes and they have several each week that are not specific to pre or postnatal women. They offer great vinyasa-style classes and have recently added a barre for an extended range of exercise in-class.
Also, they recently moved out of the much smaller Edina studio to a beautiful new, and much larger, space in S. Mpls. I like the new location (in the retail area on Lyndale and 54th) because it is next door to Caribou and Starbucks and I can pop over to get a coffee after the weekday 6:00 AM classes.
Highly recommend Blooma- it's a neighborhood studio without the major chain feel and you feel like part of a community when you go there.

Blooma offers such a supportive community for pregnant and postpartum moms. I loved their new mama group and the fact that I can bring my kiddos with me to class.

We loved having Sarah Branion and Jess Quinn as our doulas! They were so thoughtful to answer our questions in pregnancy and I loved the home visit where we got to practice spinning babies techniques together. Jess ended up attending our home birth and she was such an important part of the experience. She made me feel so cared for, empowered, encouraged, and safe. Jess worked seamlessly with our midwives and my husband to support me. I also really loved the postpartum visit where I got to process my birth with Jess. I didn't have a doula during my first birth and I'm so glad I had a doula this time around. The amazing care helped me have such a positive birth experience and I would do it all over again!
