I've always enjoyed taking yoga with Rachel @ Niyama Yoga. Rachel is very knowledgeable and adjusted the positions to integrate into students needs during class. She always makes me feel welcome and was patient, especially when I was newer to class!

Rachel came to lead a class of 10 women during our friend's bachelorette party. She made planning our event a breeze, provided all equipment at no extra charge, and created the perfect class that allowed everyone from beginners to advanced yogis to feel comfortable and challenged. I honestly can’t say enough great things about Rachel. I had taken some classes and workshops with her in area studios she teaches in, and found out she also provided private practice lessons. This has been great for me, as I had injured myself and was completing PT but still wanted to cultivate a practice. I have been meeting with Rachel for the better part of a year now and have utilized both her in home private sessions and virtual Zoom yoga sessions.
Rachel has been essential to establishing a practice that I can use at home. She is a wonderful teacher, the practices she puts together are well thought out and have a wonderful flow. (I appreciate that she also gives great cues and gets to know the ones you need the most to keep proper alignment and get the most out of each pose!)
I leave sessions with her feeling more centered, relaxed, and energized. Rachel is amazing at finding ways to customize each session/practice to your needs, goals, and abilities - and she always offers great options to consider with each pose. Whether you are new and looking to learn or just looking for a customized/one on one lessons, I would highly recommend.

I have been working with Rachel for five year. Once week now started recently twice a week. She knows all different kinds of yoga and knows how to increase or decrease our session on how I feel that day. We now meet on zoom since late March and its a little different than meeting in person. But anytime you can spend time with Rachel is a good day. I am pretty active outside yoga. I kayak twice a week and go for bike rides and of coarse walk my dog. So if you need a yoga instructor during covid times or other times. Rachel is for you.

I felt so welcomed by Rachel and her students and felt I was joining a family instead of a class. Rachel's compassion, friendliness and smiling face makes yoga something I look forward to every week! She also challenges me to push my limits in a safe way, and encourages me to try new poses and stretches. Rachel also came to my home and helped create a yoga routine just for me. From gaining flexibility which helps me when running, learning to quiet my mind, improved quality of breathing~which promotes relaxation & improved sleep, Rachel is a versatile teacher and incorporates a variety of postures for all levels from beginners to more experienced yogi's. On a recommendation to try Rachel's class for an injury I had, I showed up on Rachel's yoga 'doorstep' about four years ago. I was pretty much a novice and not sure what to expect, but Rachel's teaching style and personality have kept me coming back regularly ever since. Her classes are so inviting - not only is she very knowledgeable and helpful, she is genuinely friendly and warm. She truly cares about her students, their needs, and their practice. I recommend Rachels’s classes for people new to yoga as well as experienced yogis. I always look forward to practicing with Rachel. I’m currently taking 2 classes per week. Her classes are fun and she always offers options to poses to ensure everyone is able to benefit In a way that is good for their bodies. Her sequencing moves us easily from one posture to another and her cues for positioning are easy to follow. I’ve had a series of injuries ( not from yoga) over the years and practicing yoga with Rachel has helped me regain strengths and flexibility. I’ve also made some great friends at Rachel’s classes and during the Covid-19 Rachel has been offering her classes virtually via Zoom so I get to see them too. An added bonus is now if I have a conflict in my schedule, I can sign up for a recording of the class so I continue practicing yoga.

Until the coronavirus disrupted our weekly private training I had been practicing yoga with Rachel for over four years. She is an amazing instructor who makes you comfortable no matter what you skill level or deficiencies may be. Just being in her presence has a calming effect on me because she is so warm and understanding. She is more than willing to change up training to accommodate a day when you are not 100% yourself or an injury dictates the need for a different approach.
If you are looking for someone who is nonjudgmental and incredibly supportive then you have found her in Rachel.

I can't speak highly enough about Rachel's yoga classes. Recently due to the Covid 19 shutdown I started taking her online zoom classes. I wasn't sure how it would go but found it to be super relaxing and stress free. Rachel gives clear consise cues and helps us stay relaxed with where we are at. She speaks to every level, beginner or advanced. Her personality is relaxed and fun. I love that she laughs and we laugh and just have a great time. That's why I love her classes.

I started taking Rachel’s classes on Zoom with friends and loved the relaxed welcoming atmosphere. I run and walk and was looking to learn some poses to stretch out tight muscles, especially during covid with my gym closed. Rachel is so caring to each individual who takes her classes and answers any questions or concerns you have. I found her very easy to communicate with online during that time. My gym is open but I am still continuing her Monday “yoga for runners” online and it works great for what I need. The Saturday morning class is a perfect way to awaken the body and calm the mind- its practically like a total body massage from the comfort of your home. Her movements are carefully explained, easy to follow, and perfectly timed to allow you to enjoy the maximum benefit from each position. Her classes increase flexibility, strengthen and tone muscles, while improving balance and focus. Throughout this Covid situation yoga with Rachel via Zoom has been a gift. I started out with my laptop in the den then moved to the yard once the weather improved. I even tuned into class when I was out of town. When I am not able to “attend” my regular class Rachel emails me the recording so that I can get in my practice at a later time.
Rachel always gives options for poses or movements which allows me to go easy on myself when I need to or lets me discover something new that my body is capable of, all while not taking anything too seriously. There is definitely laughter in the practice! I love that I can still get my fix of some positive Rachel energy while at home!
