I met with Paul Spence, a Pella Sales and Design Consultant this afternoon to obtain his recommendations and estimate(s) for a couple of window replacements (seals had failed and the windows were aged). He arrived right on time, was very professional and spoke confidently explaining his particular recommendations I had not anticipated. I haven't yet tackled reading and evaluating all the documents, materials, etc but plan to do so in the days ahead. I know I would benefit by actually viewing a current model Impervia fiberglass slider (window) at a nearby Pella location before my final determination. I hope it can be arranged. An interesting fact arose while exchanging pleasantries on where our respective families had once lived. It turns out that Paul's grandfather was my pediatrician back in the olden, old days. It really is small world after all!

What an amazing job by the entire team who worked with me ‒ from concept to completion ‒ to turn the idea of expanding my front picture window into what is now the sun-filled centerpiece of my kitchen. I’m so impressed with Pella’s creative approach, professional expertise, and commitment to do the best job possible at every stage of the project. The scope of this project went far beyond simply replacing a regular window with a bay window. It involved expanding both the width and depth of the window space outside the structural wall of my house, while keeping intact the dimensions of the existing window frame as an entry way. Almost like a small room built outside the exterior walls of the house. Needless to say, a unique idea that required an entirely customized approach. When I began searching for a contractor to take on this project, I must have contacted half a dozen window installers including Renewal by Anderson, Beltway Builders, Window Nation, etc. A few came for an onsite evaluation, others I talked with on the phone. Most would only consider a simple window replacement, the rest didn’t think the scope of the project was even possible or they were cost prohibitive. Only Troy Owens, Sales Specialist for Pella Mid-Atlantic, listened to my idea to create an expansive external space, and joined me in suggesting ways it could be done. He gave me what I thought was a fair and reasonable cost estimate and brought in their technical engineer, Ray Teacu, to confirm that the larger structure could be supported outside the window frame suspended above ground. Ray skillfully drew up the plans, outlined specifications and ordered the construction materials. Six weeks later, when everything was ready, Pella sent one of their top construction and installation teams, Robert Slominski and his Blue Sky crew, to do the job. And what an outstanding job they did! I was blown away by Robert’s skill and resourcefulness in overcoming every challenge. He reassessed the substantial weight load and, in an abundance of caution, called for his team supervisor, Aaron Smith, to pick up and deliver onsite an even heavier gage cable to guarantee absolute structural integrity. At every turn, Robert considered the best plan of action, explained his thinking to me, and proceeded with his construction crew of three to carry out multiple tasks as carpentry, wood cutting, frame building, masonry drilling, molding design, copper sheet roof cuttin and installation, and painting. The Blue Sky crew worked for two full days, 7am to 5pm, non-stop but for lunch and a few snacks that I provided to keep them fueled. Aaron, Troy and Ray also dropped by at various times to check on the project. I’m so pleased with my beautiful and spacious addition. And I have such respect for the expertise of everyone I worked with at Pella ‒ from sales, to project management, to construction and installation. I highly recommend Pella Mid Atlantic to potential clients who are considering a similar project. I hope these images from start to finish show the remarkable results of a project exceedingly well done.

Don came over to adjust two of my Pella doors. One door had the bolt in the middle (3 point system) come out all the time. The other door would not lock. Don quickly and accurately assessed the situation. Both doors were out of square and Don was able to get the doors closer to square. He also replaced the locking mechanism with a spare I had from another Pella door. Don's decades of experience paid off. He was pleasant to work with and willingly shared advice on how to keep the doors functioning well into the future. Don is truly a professional who really knows his windows and doors.

A sales rep, Steve Philips, came to our house to give an estimate. He gave an estimate and stated that because his yearly sales quota was tomorrow, he would waive his commission and gave us a really good deal. We went with him and signed a contract. He told us that the windows would be ready delivered in 3-4 months. We called him multiple times trying to give him our deposit, and he repeatedly said that we didn't need to pay that until the windows came in. I called this store today asking for an ETA on when the windows would be delivered, as nearly 12 weeks had passed. They informed me that they closed the account because we never gave them the deposit. Extremely dishonest. We could have our windows installed by now if we had gone with another company, but this Pella sales rep lied to us so he could meet his sales quota. He offered us the windows at a price that he knew he could not be supplied at and then purposefully killed the contract. Now, three months later, prices have gone up. UPDATE After posting my initial review and calling other Pella phone numbers besides the sales rep, a manger reached out to me. They honored the contract and they are installing what I originally ordered. I have no idea what was going on with my sales rep, and I am pretty sure he was not supposed to give me that offer, but the company did honor the contract and push it through. Very honest company.

We needed new rollers on our Pella sliding door. That in and of itself did not make me happy. It took a little bit to figure out who to call, but once I did, they helped me identify the door exactly for new rollers. With Covid, it took longer than usual to get an appointment, but that I understand as well. And Richard & David showed up, on time, masked. They didn't disturb a thing as they worked on the door, showed me why the wheels weren't working much at all, installed in the new rollers, and the door is now a pleasure to open and close. They explained everything, and they left no mess. I highly recommend Richard & David if you get to choose who you want.

Don was a professional and very obviously a very experienced technician that Pella should be happy to have and appreciate his knowledge. Our newly installed roll screen needed repair. We didn't attempt to fix it ourselves and so pleased with Don's magic touch. He also showed my husband and I how to fix it ourselves, if it should happen again. The clips that hold our glass in were popping out since we had new glass panels replaced when our blinds were replaced. Don easily fixed that problem and now they're flush and hold the panels more securely than before. Hopefully, no need to call Pella for repairs but, if we needed service again, we'd like to know that we could ask for Don again.

Greetings! I wanted to share the great experience I had with service technician Philip Wendtland today Thursday 9/10/20. I could not fully close the bottom sash of my ground floor window which prevented it from locking. Yesterday the service manager arranged for Phil to come by after a particular time today. During that time window Phil called to let me know he was en route. Immediately afterwards a torrential rainfall started. Phil arrived and found a LEGAL parking space - no small feat in this area. When I showed him the problem he pointed out that the problem wasn't the bottom sash but the top sash was not fully closed. Duh! Afterwards Phil gave me detailed instructions on the operation of the window (OK I never washed them but he wasn't judgemental). We then went upstairs and repeated the lesson this time on a different model of window. Not only did I appreciated the time he took with me to give me tips on how to properly open, close and lock with windows and how to avoid typical "Gotchas" he's experienced with customers, I have a much better appreciation for the quality and workmanship that goes into your product. We also considered Jeld-Wen and Marvin, but chose Pella because of their in-home team. No additional contractor needed. The installation crew was impressive. After having both Pella and Andersen Windows out to look things over, do their brief product and services pitches, and provide immediate estimates, we selected Pella and our sales rep to move forward with on the project. Pella ran the project very efficiently, on time and were, frankly, a first class operation. We had a subsequent site visit after the contract had been signed to ensure accuracy and a perfect install. Finally, three gentlemen arrived for installation day, and removed the old and heavy glass, and lifted (I have no idea how) an even heavier glass and frame up onto a scaffold with suction cups and superhuman strength, placing our window in and sealing it up beautifully! The small nick on the wall (to be expected), they gladly touched it up for us with our leftover paint from a recent paint job, and a week later, when we noticed the suction cup rings on the window, they quickly returned to clean those up. I would recommend Pella again for anyone looking at good product, fair and reasonable prices, great service and working with a good salesperson.

As with previous projects, the Pella work crew did an excellent installation job and superior clean up afterwards. The only downside are the small bumps on the part of the fiberglass door frame that holds the window in place. They appear to be a result of the manufacturing process, although I will at least raise the issue with Pella to allow for whatever follow up may be required.

Because it was still under warranty, a replacement lock was ordered and a return service visit was scheduled. Good afternoon, Mr. Wendtland and his trainee Eric (Erik) were terrific today!!They arrived on time, were prepared for the work and very open with communication on the repair. Mr. Wendtland was extremely knowledgeable of my Pella sliding door. Upon his inspection he discovered that the replacement screen assembly purchased would not fit my door. Immediately, he examined the "damaged" screen to discover that a repair could be accomplished without new part. The entire time he was instructing his trainee on how to properly repair the screen and items to be mindful of when repairing. Mr. Wendtland's honesty on the no need for the replacement part, recommending instead to return the part for a full refund is very professional, reflects high personal and moral characteristics! He explained he "could modify" the replacement but that was not the best solution for what was really a minor issue, just rewind/reset the tension and place the screen back in the groove. He even demonstrated the method to accomplish both. I would have Mr. Wendtland do my Pella repairs anytime!! In fact if I need a repair again it just may be Mr. Wendtland or no one! I had an unusual project where for my studio I had a custom sliding glass door made. The door was installed in front of my metal garage door. We went to the Gaithersburg show room to look at the doors. Both Alysa and Paul Spence were helpful. Paul was able to guide me on selecting the best door for my space, the Impervia. He gave me great pointers on how to measure and what to include in my considerations. Because this project was beyond the scope of a typical Pella install, Paul was also able to connect me with a contractor. Aesthetically, my door blends with the surrounding townhouses and apartments. It gives me light and air, transforming the garage into a studio. I love everything about my new Pella door!
