We love HomeStar Windows. We’ve used them to replace our windows in 3 different homes. A few years ago the replaced our windows. They have come for a repair and now they replaced our sliding doors (x3). The sales person was thorough & everything he promised was taken care of! The person who did final measurements was accurate & courteous. Our installers were on time, polite, cleaned up after themselves & did an excellent job!! They were friendly & fun! They made sure that all promises were fulfilled before leaving! Best experience yet from beginning to finish but the installers made the whole experience complete! Thanks HomeStar Windows & Doors! You’ve once again exceeded expectations!! To those of you considering them, we HIGHLY recommend them! And we love their products!

We were very impressed with Chris and Tyler, our installers. They were prompt and very professional. These two men worked together on a very cold November morning to remove our 26 year old windows & install our beautiful new Milgard windows. They were courteous and used drop cloths and even vacuumed our carpets when they had competed the job! HomeStar is the kind of company that honors their warranty. We had windows and doors installed 1.5 years ago, and were happy with the job. Some issues arose after a few months (nothing that could have been foreseen during the installation), and I called the company to see if they could help. The employee who picked up the phone was very understanding and took my info (I don't remember his name, unfortunately). I got a call from another employee, Mike, a couple of hours later. He made sure he fully understood the problems and scheduled an appointment. Mike was very thoughtful and empathetic. Jack Lopez and Freedom were the the ones who came to work on the fixes. They were both very kind, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They diagnosed the issues and fixed them quickly. They were truly a pleasure to interact with them. I am grateful both to the company for being willing to perform these fixes at no charge, and to the individual workers for all the help they provided. HomeStar is a solid, ethical local business that does their best to do right by the customer, and that is full of excellent employees.

HomeStar windows made our window replacement process a breeze! From the initial visit/quote with Dave to the completion of the installation with Chris And Tyler. The company communicated regularly as to the status of our window order and when the install would take place, all of which occurred exactly as expected, even in the snowy weather of this past week! Chris and Tyler showed up on time and ready to go despite less than ideal conditions. Both were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and very respectful of our property. Most importantly, they are very skilled in their craft and have the process down to a science. We are more than pleased with the quality and beauty of our Milgard windows. Rudy and Freedom arrived timely went right to work. Replacing windows with a brick exterior that previously had brick molding. I am not putting brick molding back up as they did a superior job in fitting the flange to the opening even though it was not square to the brick. Very very impressed with their work. Windows are fantastic, have a thicker glass on the outside really cuts down on the street noise. Windows were a third of another companies 3 pane windows. Great value, great workmanship.

We recently closed on a value-add apartment acquisition in Salt Lake City and replacing the property’s original (now 50-year-old) single-pane windows with high-quality double-pane vinyl windows was at the top of our list of planned capital improvements. We conducted an extensive vetting process of window contractors and the key considerations in our search were: quality of work, reputation, service/warranty, turnaround time, price/value and lifetime cost of ownership. After discussions with a number of window providers active in Utah, it was clear that HomeStar Windows & Doors was best suited to meet our needs. Owner Dave Orgill’s honesty, transparency, responsiveness, knowledge and reputation ultimately led to us selecting HomeStar for our window replacement project. Dave and his HomeStar team lived up to their reputation and surpassed our high expectations for the project. Dave was extremely knowledgeable about various window options and was highly accommodating in working with our budget. He provided us with a few different high quality yet affordable window options from a short-list of reputable manufacturers. We selected a locally-manufactured window that fit our quality, budget and timing objectives. The HomeStar team got to work immediately with measuring and ordering the windows, which were manufactured and delivered to the jobsite ahead of schedule. The install could not have been more seamless and HomeStar was able to complete the installation of more than 100 windows in just three weeks (within the promised window). The installation work was completed during full occupancy of the complex and was done with no material disruption to tenants. Our tenants couldn’t be more pleased with their new windows (noticeably improved sound and temperature insulation) and the curb appeal of the building is significantly upgraded with the new windows. The quality of HomeStar’s work and their attention to detail was exceptional. We wholeheartedly recommend HomeStar Windows & Doors to other multifamily owners and property managers considering window replacement. Robert from HomeStar doors arrived on time with a positive attitude. He pointed out some damage to the door from transit, and immediately said the he made a note of it and would replace the aluminum cladding when it came in. He didn’t not wait to see if we noticed it. In the process of taking out the old door and putting in the new, he was careful and clean taking time to sweep and vacuum the dust created. During the process he answered all of our questions even though he had heard them many times with his experience. At the end of the installation, he went the extra mile and cut the header I had for the inside of the door and put it up for me even though all he was technically supposed to do was put inexpensive casing around my door. Before he left he walked me through his finish work, the time table to replace the piece that was bent, and made recommendations to care for my door and the caulking around it. If you read this and don’t choose HomeStar doors, I would rethink your decision making process. P.S. the door was half the cost of other bids.

I recently purchased and installed a Thermatrue door. The door looks great and I was very happy with the install process. However, I was NOT happy that thermatrue was not even mentioned as an option when I began the process of choosing a door. It felt like such a cash grab that the sales person didn’t mention all my options. Instead only the most expensive option. I have since referred close family to HomeStar and they are experiencing the same. Not only were all the options not mentioned but when my family asked for a thermatrue quote the sales person was very curt. It’s embarrassing to refer family hoping they would have a good experience. Instead it’s been disappointing. Make all your options known and let the customer choose. Otherwise it feels cagey and dishonest. I won’t be promote Homestar in the future. Update: The owner has since contacted me and the issue has been addressed.

From our initial interaction through installation, we have felt like we spent our money in the right place. We were excited when they scheduled the appointment for install and took the two days off work. We upgraded all windows and doors in the house. What a fantastic difference they made to our house!! Rudy and Bradley showed up on day one - very friendly and professional - and finished…no need for day two (although I wouldn’t have minded staying home two days in a row 😛) They answered all our questions, left all areas in the house spotless, and were very pleasant to have around all day. We used Homestar Windows since they sold us on their five year no questions asked warranty. However when they screen's weatherstripping and wheels weren't working properly, we were told that they do not cover screens. I think for a $4,000+ sliding door (not your typical vinyl sliding door) we would get a better response than sorry we don't cover that. Very disappointed. There were much cheaper options than HomeStar that have the same warranty that we were given. ****Update 4/13/2022**** I was called by the Owner and there was an acknowledgment that we were mislead inadvertently. They agreed to repair the issue and it was completed today and works much better. They did apologize for the misunderstanding and fixed the issues. FYI. Screens are not covered due to the abuse they take but they do offer a reasonable price for re-meshing them or replacing them.

HomeStar lived up to their fantastic reviews! We also looked at going with Champion windows, but were put off by their sales gimmicks. HomeStar was prompt and professional. Dave gave us a great quote, helped explain the window types and benefits, and made recommendations like privacy windows in our bathrooms. As a heads up, it takes about 2 months from the estimate and "go ahead" to actual installation. (It takes time to build windows.) The installers, Jared, Jake, and [another guy] were ridiculously friendly, also very explanatory, and corrected anything we asked them to. (For example, one window wouldn't lock, so they fixed that.) We also had one window crack about a week after installation, but upon reporting it, they have ordered a new one and will install it soon. They have an extensive warranty as well, which is listed on their site, and they've been very responsive and helpful. And they actually return your calls, which is often unheard of. Overall, we were impressed and would definitely recommend them.

UPDATE: I am updating my original review due to the fact that I was contacted immediately by Dave, the owner, who came and took care of this right away. I have not had the service done yet, but did decide to order the window after he quickly and professionally took of the situation. I do believe at this point that he does want to make sure he takes care of his potential customers. I am hoping the install process goes as smoothly. I was really excited when I saw all the great reviews for this window company, however it seems to have been too good to be true. I finally found a company not only with great reviews, but who will do one window, which is all we have left to do in our home except our sliding glass door. I called and spoke to Christine (?) who was great. She sent Spencer out, who is the owners son, to do an estimate. He came, on time, and very nice, and not trying to pressure me into getting my door done right now. After matching as best as possible to the windows we already have, he said he would send me a video of the final two options I would choose from that day, which was last Saturday, with the final quote for both. It is now Wednesday, and I never got the videos nor the final quote and have heard nothing from them. I will need to get boots on the ground again, after much time spent calling at least a dozen window companies and continue my search. I was pretty excited to get this last window in, and use them in the future for my door, but sadly disappointed. Only giving one star due to the fact that I have had nothing done because they never sent me the final quote with videos of the two options.

We used HomeStar to replace several older windows and two patio doors. The entire experience was very delightful and we never felt like our time was being wasted. The installation went extremely smooth! They had all three windows and two patio doors installed in under 8 hours, with minimal times that our home was exposed to the cold winter air. They were also extremely clean and professional, leaving our home and floors as neat and tidy as they found them! Of course, there was a 1-2 month wait while our new windows and doors were manufactured due to slowdowns related to the pandemic we're still experiencing here at the start of 2021. But the end result was very much worth the wait and we're already planning on having more of our windows replaced by HomeStar!

Their prices were competitive and what really sold us was their installation process and the quality of their windows for the price. On installation day (today) things could not have gone smoother. Very happy with the installation of our Milgard windows and sliding glass door by HomeStar Windows and Doors. We had 17 windows replaced plus a sliding glass door, which replaced a leaky French door. The 2 installers arrived on time. They communicated the plan quickly and got right to work. They were also clean, hard-working (they skipped lunch to just keep moving), and were friendly and patient with my kids who wanted to watch the whole door process. Most impressive was that they got all 17 windows and the door installed in 1 day! It was slated for 2. They said our old windows just came out easily, but they really worked like a well-oiled machine to move systematically through the house. All told they were here about 8 hours is all. And they always cleaned thoroughly as they went. I expected to need to vacuum and dust after they left, but it wasn't necessary at all and that made it so much easier to keep the kids rotating through the rooms they weren't in. I felt safe to go into a space knowing it wouldn't have debris that would tempt the toddler. As I've inspected each window I'm impressed by how consistent the caulking is, too. As far as the sales process, Dave, the owner, is very friendly. What questions I could think of were easily and clearly answered for the most part. I am very uncomfortable with sales situations and he wasn't pushy. He also accommodated a last minute change in our financing needs. The only thing I feel a little bit disappointed about is that we did mention several times that one motivation for replacement in the Master was the amount of street noise we deal with and he never commented one way or another, but now that the windows are in we've found no improvement in noise. It makes me wonder if we needed to go to triple pane there or something, but it wasn't ever mentioned. But as much as anything, that's a product of me not addressing the issue directly and sticking to it until I had a solution to our issue. Emailing the office with questions throughout the process was simple. They processed the financing quickly with Enerbank who have also been great to work with thus far. The office was quick to respond to all my questions. Overall the experience was quite positive. We love how the new windows look and function, especially the safety features and energy efficiency. We can already feel a difference and know our utility bills are going to improve. This was absolutely a worthwhile investment in our home.

We talked to many windows sales people before selecting HomeStar and were impressed with the sales, estimate and final measurement process, and the installers were professional, fast, clean, and communicated throughout the removal and install. After losing several months under contract with another local window company that was unable to complete our home window replacement project, we were feeling very discouraged. Not only did we still desperately need new windows but the warm season was quickly coming to a close and we were facing a long, cold winter with failing windows. I bought two new exterior doors including professional installation, the crew did a great job with the doors. Unfortunately after the crew left I noticed the wrong hinges and hardware were on the doors. I called HomeStar and they verified the manufacture sent the wrong ones with the doors and were happy to help get those replaced. HomeStar made it right by replacing the hardware and making everything work just like the original install. I want to thank the installers for taking the time to change out the hardware and adjusting the doors to perfection. HomeStar just completed installing a window for us and did a fine job. However, the installers were not vaccinated for COVID-19 nor were they masked. I contacted the company and suggested that measures be taken to prevent such a situation from reoccurring. The owner phoned us soon after and expressed his promise to have his workers mask if that was the desire of the customer. I applaud him for this step and trust that his employees will follow through with his request.

My husband and I are repeat customers of HomeStar for good reasons: Excellent customer service (prompt and super communication every step of the way), solid product quality and value (competitive priced--even to our benefit), and installers were efficient and respectful of us and our home and left everything so clean! 👍 Last year we comparison shopped for a garden window, patio door w/mini-blinds and 4 bedroom windows using ads from a local magazine. HomeStar was our third stop and we looked no further. We were greeted and after listening to what we needed, referred to the owner Dave -- he was personable and knowledgeable, answering our questions and telling us pros and cons of products and showing us samples in the showroom. We liked that he represented local, reputable suppliers so he could offer great warranties and guarantees for products and service. Dave made an appointment to measure and give us estimate, offered payment options and schedule installation. Everything went smoothly!!! This year our rental property needed major upgrades -- we went straight to Dave and he helped us replace 11 windows and an old French door got changed to a mini-blind patio door (cause we truly enjoy the one we got). Dave was sensitive to our timing that all this get done before new renters moved in within 3 weeks. Joseph did an awesome job installing everything including taking down and rehanging some shutters (I think he took pity on me cause I'm "mechanically challenged" 😂 -- Thank You Joseph!!!) Everything went smoothly -- we highly recommend HomeStar for your next window/door project.

Dave and his crew of installers are excellent in all areas of the process. We had 8 windows and 1 slider installed 8/9/17. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the work. Milgard windows changed our whole home look and feel.

Like most people this year, we decided to get some home improvements done. Homestar came out to do an estimate for us on our 11 windows. While talking with Spencer, I mentioned that is love to have our big kitchen window turned into a sliding door. He promptly said that they could to it. And they did. When I emailed with questions or updates they promptly replied, except for the email I sent concerning the gentleman that measured our windows without a mask on. I truly wished I had asked him to put one on, but I assumed it was policy considering the world's crisis right now. Anywho, Joseph came out with an assistant and they replaced all of our 10 windows and cut down and out in the sliding door in one day. Which was not expected at all. It was amazing. They were both friendly and had to put up with us moving about the house and needing to leave at one point. They also took back two screens to fix that were slightly damaged to fix and bring back. No extra charge. One thing I'd like to suggest for future projects like ours. It would have been great if they had been able to put up tarps in our kitchen to help with brick and drywall dust flying into every nook and cranny in the house. We're still trying to get it all cleaned up. It's such a fine dust. Thank you for such great work and friendly service. Everyone that has seen the windows jave asked who we went through. Hopefully you'll have a lot more work next year.

Integrity and honor are important factors for me as a customer and Dave and his team were fantastic from start to finish. HomeStar really has the customer experience dialed in, appointments were on time, commitments were kept, and integrity of their products is high on their list. I was originally going to use another company that I saw in the Hometown Values ad book that comes in your mail. My biggest recommendation to anyone is Do Not Sign anything on the first visit, ensure you sit down with all your potential companies first and then make a decision. I made the mistake of signing a one page document with the other company that had the tiniest message saying I had 3 business days from the day I signed to change my mind and if it happened to be over a Saturday that day counted too. And if I wanted/needed to cancel in that timeline I would have to take a lot of steps (the word notary is used). I was lucky to get out of that contract but it was not without some hurtful comments by text from their salesman. Like I mentioned HomeStar has integrity and honor that you may not come across using other companies. Their windows are Amazing and pricing was Great too! Definitely give them a chance if you are looking at window companies!

We had a great experience with Homestar. Dave is a pleasure to work with and was very helpful. He was willing to work with us on the price and we are very happy with what we paid, for the quality we got. We replaced all of our basement windows with the Tuscany series and can already feel a huge difference. We are planning on replacing all of the windows in our house and will definitely be using Homestar to do so. We had 15 or so other companies come out and give us bids on windows and Homestar, by far, was the best. They have excellent customer service and an excellent product. When they came out to install the windows, their workers were pleasant and DID NOT smell like cigarettes, which was a huge plus. Having them work at my house was a pleasant experience.

We needed to replace nearly all of the Windows in our house. I made an appoint with Darren to come out give us a bid. He was quick and showed us a number of options that fit our budget. He quickly made arrangements with an installer to take final measurements, and in no time flat our Windows were done. The windows are of great quality and the cold zones are gone from around the window areas. We've even noticed a reduction in noise as well. We even had one window that was scratched, either during transport or during installation. When we notified Darren of the issue there was no haggling over what to do. He immediately said they would get a replacement ordered. Great windows, great service. It was worth every penny.

We had 28 windows and a sliding door replaced through these guys. After getting bids from 3 other companies we chose Homestar because Darren (our salesman) was straight forward, honest, and helped us get exactly what we wanted at a better price than the competition. We have had the windows for 8 months now and have been SO happy with them. The only thing less than perfect about our experience is how easily the screen door was destroyed by our kids, but that's a Milgard issue and they said it's because they use the clear view screens- which true to their name are very transparent hence its quick demise- and so they are softer and pull out of the frame easier. When I called they were very nice about it and arranged to have it replaced free of charge. I would definitely recommend them.

We had the best experience. It started with needing some updated window coverings (shutters). With the help of their awesome Sales Consultant, Leslie, we were able to really get what we wanted. In the process, we discovered that many of our windows were worn out, very inefficient, and some even dangerous. Without her help, we would have missed a great opportunity to protect our investment. She called Dave (the owner) to give us the best advice and to pick the right windows. Naturally, we were nervous that we would exceed our budget by getting new windows. (Btw, we had shopped at least three other window companies prior to HomeStar, but due to price, we were never able to make it work for us.) We expected HomeStar to be as competitive as other window companies. We were delighted that their price and terms were better than the rest. We got upgraded windows, better than expected, a great price, and then great service to top it all off. The day came for the install, their installers were kind, careful, and very skilled. Our old windows went out, new windows went in, and before too long we were enjoying some great benefits we weren't expecting. We installed in late fall. It was pretty cold outside. We noticed two things, right away. First, the house was noticeably warmer. And second, it was waaaay quieter. We really didn't expect it to be that drastic. Our home had the top of the line windows from 1985 and with the new windows, it was like a heaven again. We were amazed by the immediate effect and positive outcomes. They really took care of us. All their staff were very professional and helpful. A deep thank you to Dave, Leslie, Jared and Joe (the window installer crew), Ben (the shutter installer), and all their office staff. After the windows were in, the shutter installer came in, he was very professional, careful, and attentive to detail. When they were all done, our house was clean, looked like a million bucks, and we couldn't be happier. I really mean this...it was worth the investment and I'm really glad we did this.

Door-to-door salesman came to the house and criticized our windows for being old and less efficient. We thought they were fine, but figured we should at least investigate the cost of new windows, and wanted a second opinion. Imagine our delight when Dave and his son from Homestar came to the house to work out a quote for us, and they declared that our windows were great and they didn't need to be replaced. They inspected all of the windows in the house and even with the window that had clouded up, encouraged us to just replace the glass instead of the entire window. They even spent time teaching us the best ways to get our windows into tip-top shape. EDIT: The owner reached out to me after seeing my review. He came and visited and apologized for the miscommunication and misunderstanding of the windows I wanted. He’s ordered me different windows and will install them no charge on windows or labor once they arrive. I would do business with them again, and have them in mind for when I replace the remaining windows in a year or so. I picked this place based on the excellent google reviews and I’m quite frustrated with my experience. My frustrations start with the windows I chose. The owner said they weren’t his favorite bc the track wore down quicker, but I verified that that’s still covered with the lifetime warranty. So I told him I wanted the “double hung windows” he told me previous that they were 250 extra a window and I was okay with that. When writing the order he said he they’re actually 5$ less. Well that’s because he ordered the single hung windows. So after they had Installed 2 of the 3 windows I went to I doe t them and discovered they weren’t what I asked for . I reviewed the order form and they just put in inside codes and such that didn’t tell me at all what kind of windows they ordered. At this point I let them finish the install bc I was frustrated with how long it took. They told me 2-3 hours total for the 3 windows. It was actually 2-3 hours per window. He was at my house installing for almost 6 hours. I had not planned on missing that much work for this. So again a very frustrating experience and I’m not happy. The one window that was ordered correctly does look great.
