Amanda K helped us pick out some great blinds for our space and Joe B measured and installed with efficient and perfection. We needed bottom up blinds for our living room and these are fantastic. They allow a lot of light but offer some privacy. The blackout blinds for our bedroom are amazing! Super happy with Stoneside, particularly for the blinds in high visibility areas. They look so nice!

Melanie was great to work with and her communication and visit was overall fun, while her consultation and direction was also much appreciated. John was an excellent installer making sure we were fully setup (some of our blinds are motorized and require app setups) and perfectly installed even in some of our windows that are not at all level! After reading past reviews I decided to go with Stoneside Blinds and Shades. The entire process was seamless. From our first visit by Melanie, who listened to all our needs and spent a good amount of time with us walking us through the process to Jon who was our installer. Jon was on time, actually early which was great, and when completed he walked us through the use of the blinds . If we ever need more blinds, or have anyone ask us who we used we will definitely recommend the team from Stoneside. It is actually refreshing when a project is completed without any hiccups. The order was correct , everything fit fine and we did not have to wait for months and months.

We just had our custom cellular blinds and roller shades installed and I am SHOCKED by how it transformed our house. Stoneside (but more specifically Joe Bach and Amanda Klash) is incredible. The process from beginning to end was smooth and easy. Amanda came to our house and helped us pick the right cellular shades based on our style and color scheme. She was an excellent communicator before, during, and after and walked us through the financing process (which is an excellent deal, btw). We had our reservations because the estimate was more expensive than we thought it would be, but we took the plunge and placed our order. Joe Bach took our technical measurements and was our installer. We couldn't have asked for a more detail-focused, careful, and knowledgeable person to work with. Joe talked us through all of our options and helped make recommendations based on his years of experience and expertise. The installation took HOURS fewer than was initially estimated and everything is working wonderfully and looking fabulous. We had reservations early on about how expensive these window treatments cost. Today, we feel like every penny was money well spent. So happy we went with Stoneside. Give Joe and Amanda raises!

I also didn't feel pressured to upgrade to anything more expensive from the designer Melanie. The installation was fairly quick and everything looks as promised when I placed my order. Jon Shively from Stoneside in Portland just installed my Cellular Shades in the upstairs main bedroom and hall bathroom… it transformed the place! He did an incredible job, both in installation and care for the product and my home. A little tutorial on the operational mechanics of the shades AND then he offered to haul away my previous wood blinds and I am so grateful! From the start with designer Amanda Klash and installer Joe Bach who did the original downstairs window shades, this has gone really well and I am so happy!! I have recommended them to family members, and I come from a very big Irish clan :-)

Had an absolute amazing experience working with Stoneside. After being extremely overwhelmed by another company Stoneside made the process beyond easy and enjoyable. The sales consultant/designer came to our house with numerous options to look at, she really listened to what we were looking for and helped advise us based on our goals and the design of our house. I can't say enough great things about the Stoneside team that I dealt with here in Portland! Melanie LeFur and Joe Bach made the experience pleasant and totally stress-free. Melanie came over and offered me all my options but helped me narrow down the choices, which for me is VERY important. She could see what look I was going for and helped me to create it. Joe came by to measure very soon thereafter -- it might have been the next day -- and then came back to install a couple weeks after that. Just had a massive shade installed for our very sunny west facing window. SO happy with it. We had so much trouble finding a shade that would work for such a large window and having their design specialist visit us and walk us through the options was so easy. Delivery and installation was faster than expected and the installer even patched and painted a couple spots for us before installing so it would look nice. Our installer Joe Bach did above and beyond quality installation for a total of 13 panels of Roman shades. 11 of them are 8 foot tall windows and 2 of them are 13 feet tall that has some hazards of falling down, he did it vary cautiously and with the uncompromising quality. In addition to that, he cleaned all the tall window seals for us throughly and vacuumed floor. He moved very heavy sofa to make space by himself because I injured my ankle and not quite mobile . I would recommend Stone side to anyone. They installed my lower tier Roman Shades blinds 6 years ago and this year they installed the second tier. I would al like to sing a praise for our designer Melanie LeFur, who did the consultation 5 years ago. She was very gracious to us when we made at least 4 interactions of which panel of the windows to install and which year to install. Very professional and patient. I felt treated like a royal by these two very professional Stoneside employees. Thank you!

I bought 2 inch cellular shades for my upstairs rooms and they provide a lovely filtered light which will be wonderful in this Pacific NW climate where we have limited sun for nine months of the year. It was easy to schedule an appointment for a consultation. Manufacture of the shades took about 5 to 6 weeks but I was promptly contacted regarding installation. Am happy to give Stoneside Blinds 5* for everything, starting in 2017 when I first ordered shades for my entire new condo until yesterday when I had Joe Bach, the master service repair man come. First, my new cat managed to chew through the strings and play with them causing serious damage, rendering two shades dead! A call to Melanie got me a quick appointment and Joe was able to completely restring and repair two large living room shades. (I was convinced that I would have to buy all new ones). He managed to restring both shades and even repaired a part that I had (stupidly) cut off. A few new parts and as good as new. Joe is very knowledgeable, gave me all sorts of operating tips and is an all round helpful person. I have found that in every aspect from ordering the original shades, to installation, to the repairs, Stoneside is a very professional and knows their stuff. Use them.

Ended up with the best price, which combined with Stoneside's reviews and reputation made it a no-brainer. Amanda was terrific as a design consultant (informed but no pressure, and patient as I took several weeks to make up my mind), and Joe was amazing as an installer. He gave attention to all the right details that super nitpicky folks like me appreciate, and was super friendly and helpful in making sure I knew how the remote worked. A++. The only negative was that it did take quite a while from order to installation, but these days, with all the home remodeling work people are doing, that's to be expected.

This was our first time using Stoneside. We were visited by Melanie LeFur, our designer and estimator. She was fabulous. Talked through what we wanted and gave great advice on some of the windows we questioned. She gave us her estimate and we proceeded. Joe Bach was our installer and he came twice, once to do the final measurements and then to install. So, Joe was in our home for a good amount of time. He was very courteous and respectful of us and our home. He talked through all of our options and did a fabulous job both in sizing and installing! We are very happy with our new blinds and would recommend this company to anyone making this decision. A couple of other points, these blinds are made in the US and our work was delayed due to an intense snow and ice event that hit the NW...so we anticipated a delay in the installation. However, they were able to install 3 days before their estimated date! That was fabulous!

Melanie LaFur was so helpful with information and suggestions, then quickly forwarding swatches that allowed us to view and narrow the field from such an amazing selection of fabrics. After 4 years of operation one of my blinds stopped working. Changing the batteries didn’t fix the problem. I called Stoneside and they set me up with a repair appointment on the coming Saturday. When Saturday arrived, John from Stoneside called to say he was ahead of schedule and asked if he could come by early. I was happy to hear this. John showed up promptly at the newly scheduled time and quickly repaired the blind with spares that he had in his van. He was in and out in a few minutes. All under warranty. This was just too easy!

Excellent expérience from start to finish. I set an appointment with Amanda, and to be honest I had to reschedule on her 2 times because of flooring issues. When she came to the house I told her what I was thinking about and she was great. She was nice and super helpful in finding just the right color, and making the ordering process super smooth. The install was also super smooth. I got a call for Joe to come and measure which took no time at all. They told me it was going to be 10-12 week since everything is taking longer and expected delivery was 3/17. They got them in early and I had them installed 2/21. Joe came back with John and got them installed quickly and efficiently. They were super friendly and professional and explained everything that I need to know about my new blind. Also they offered 6 no same as cash financing which is very helpful in paying for them. Alll and all I am over the moon happy with my blind and the service I received.

This experience was very pleasant. Melanie LeFur was great at explaining everything regarding the blinds. She helped with our choices and was honest in guiding us in what we should select including assistance with design decisions (though we kinda knew what we wanted), color choices, and discouraging us from poor decisions. She fully explained the process and quickly fixed issues that were encountered after quoting. No one to blame, just some minor changes were needed. Joe Bach measured and installed the blinds. During the measurement appointment he accurately measured all of the windows and explained some oddities in the placement of the blinds. He returned when the blinds were finished to install them. Wow! The installation was super fast and problem-free. When the installation was complete, he gave us all of the instructions that we needed to move the blinds up and down. While their quote was slightly more expensive, it was was absolutely worth it. I’ve had many home improvement projects, and this is one of the most pleasurable and hassle-free projects. Oh, and the blinds are stellar!!!

We have had two wonderful experiences with Stoneside Blinds & Shades. Three years ago we had blackout blinds installed in our bedroom, and we love them. Recently we had sun shades installed in our condo's large great room and dena total of 6 very large windows and two patio doors. Melanie helped us plan and decide which to get. She was very efficient and everything proceeded as she said it would --on time and for a reasonable price. Joe came a week later and re-measured all the windows and doors very carefully and went over all the details, such as which side of the window to raisie and lower blinds on. He was very meticulous, carefully re-measuring several places just to be sure. We were happy to see Joe come to install the blinds on the promised delivery date. As before, he worked with great care, was friendly, and worked continuously for over 6 hours to complete the installation. As he was leaving he offered to tighten up two kitchen cabinet doors and their handles. Even before this, we were more than happy with the whole Stoneside Blind experience (as well as the products), but this was the frosting on the cake. We would never think of using another company and will be recommending Stoneside (and Melanie and Joe) to all of our friends.

January 2016 Andrew, the installer, did a great job with the installation. He has a good, patient disposition. He went out of his way in many respects, not least of which was the extra time he spent on the phone with Somfy, the manufacturer of the blinds automation device, to install the app on my smart phone. Stoneside should consider itself fortunate to have him on the team. Besides his good manner, I was impressed that he came dressed nicely for the installation. They are exactly what I was hoping for. The color is great, both of the blinds and the valance. The Somfy automation is a terrific feature. When the time come to get the window treatment for my home, I called 3 designers to come over. They all came with their samples, experience, and knowledge. Among them I chose Stoneside because the designer Melanie LeFur showed us a great knowledge and experience. She showed us different materials and designs and options which can match with our windows. Once the order arrived, installer Chris came and installed them. He is an experience person too. There was a manufacture issue with one shade's cord and they re-order it and fix it. Our window looks so beautiful and my kids love the honeycomb cell shade that I chose for all our bedrooms. Melanie has a big concern about the customer satisfaction, she contacted us several times, resolved some issues that we had. Once everything is settled she paid another visit for final check-up. I can recommend Stoneside anyone who wants to get great window treatment within reasonable budget. They have variety of designs, materials and options plus wonderful customer service.

When it was time to get new window coverings for our new home I called several companies and found Stoneside was available and I didn't have to schedule out weeks to get an appointment. When I met Melanie it was as though we had been friends for years. She made the ordering process easy, fast and efficient, it was a great experience. The decision to purchase new shades took me months ! WHY? Too much selection, too many companies purporting that they were faster, better, etc. AND more than any issue - the prices from the companies varied so much. It was impossible to discern if there actually were significant enough differences in product and warrantee to explain up to a 100% difference in cost. Finally with the assistance and great service from Melanie at Stoneside, I chose solar shades. Decision was based on the quality, long term warrantee, and price. Stoneside was extremely competitive and they are made in the USA. Another positive is they do not use sub-contractors for installation. They send someone to your home, who is employed directly by the company, to check original measurements and - a great advantage - is that this same person is the installer. They are then familiar with the job, takes responsibility for correct measurements, and knows your installation preferences. The installation was perfect. Joseph Bach was the installer - besides doing an excellent job - Joe took great care to protect the wood floors with shoe covers, was very careful with walls, paint, and patched the holes from the old blinds. Joe was a perfectionist - and that is much appreciated. A very positive experience overall.

She came up with the perfect solution and transformed the house. The customer service dropped the ball by not communicating with us about the delay. This area certainly needs improvement. They should be more proactive. The installers, Joe and John did an outstanding job. Perfectionists!! They were personable, dedicated and exceeded our expectations. They really cared about the customer's needs. Joe had to double-check and patiently waited to learn whether the draperies were steamable. In the end, he did an amazing job steaming the draperies, which was probably out of his comfort zone, but he was very patient. I appreciate his attention to detail and he gave us a great experience. Great experience from beginning to end. Melanie LeFur helped me choose the perfect design for my needs (wood, 2” slats, cords for raising/lowering, and wand for opening/closing) and the perfect color. Joe Bach both measured and installed perfectly. Because I have a large window that is divided into three unequal sections (the two far sides open and the center is a larger picture window), measurement and install was critical. I wanted maximum coverage, the blinds to still open without hitting one another, and the blinds to break in the correct spots on the window. Plus with install the gaps on the sides and in between needed to be symmetrical. Everything was perfect! As someone who has done a lot of home remodeling, I can rarely say that about a project. Because everything is custom, even though the blinds are separate the valence is one large piece, which is needed for one large window. Melanie and Joe were fabulous-friendly and knowledgeable and explained everything clearly. Love that the products are made in the U.S., and the quality is great. And they look amazing! Highly recommend!

I really love top down bottom up blinds. In addition to my small windows, they also made 2 really large ones for my picture windows. Recently it seemed like one of the shades was retracting oddly. They ordered replacement parts and Joe came out to fix it. It seems like it was better after he pulled the shade in and out a few times. But he still replaced the motors with an even stronger motor. AND he replaced the motors in my other large blind giving both the blinds an extra boost of longevity. Wow. Ok, first my Roman Shades are STUNNING. So sleek, yet perfect amount of pop for the room. I loved working with our designer. She helped me find the perfect print that was going to give the room the feel I wanted. And let me be clear, I needed the help. I can be so indecisive around decor decisions. We could not be more pleased with the quality and beauty of our Stoneside Blinds & Shades at our new Portland home. We met with Melanie LeFur for the initial consultation and she was the ultimate professional and guided us to the perfect selection (color, material, style and price) for our home. Stoneside was able to have the order ready and installed ahead of schedule and just in time for a visit from family (one of whom needed the black out shade). Andy did the installation and he gave all the shades a "tune up" and shortened the cords and just in general was one of the friendliest persons I've met since I moved to Portland (and given how cordial everyone is in Portland, that is saying a lot). I recommended Stoneside to my sister, who recently moved to Seattle, and she had a similar stellar experience. Our home isn't air conditioned (by choice) and I was able to moderate the heat and keep the house cool this summer by raising and lowering the shades and windows. It's fair to say that I interact more with the shades than any other household item/feature. The cords work well and it's quite easy to line up adjoining window shades. They seem to resist dust and haven't even needed cleaning during the past year. Most of all, it's a very serene experience to wake up in the mornings to the soft light filtered by the shades. I know that this is an investment that has enhanced the experience of living in our home. My recommendation is unequivocal and you will not be disappointed by the product or the service.

She worked quickly to pinpoint what we needed, and presented us with a budget that beat out the competitors. What's not to like? The installer, Joe Bach, had to deal with significant technical issues associated with our condo's construction. He was patient, thoughtful, incredibly pleasant and worked hard (and ultimately successfully) to come up with solutions which worked. The end result was exactly what we needed. These two representatives deserve very high praise, and are excellent ambassadors for their company. It would have been ideal if every single person I dealt with in Stoneside had been as sterling as these two people were (alas, I did have one (only one) quite unpleasant encounter with a third employee). However, you cannot argue with results, and that's what's behind the 5-star rating. The overall customer experience definitely merits a 5-star rating for quality and attention to customer service.

Where do I begin? This company is amazing and stands behind their product and work 100%. I ordered a roller shade for outside my sliding glass door. I couldn't be happier with my new blinds. When I first ordered them (because I thought they looked cool), from the samples, I was a little worried that maybe I hadn't made the right selection from the samples, you know, gone "too modern" for the look. We have 2 very large (>8ft windows) in two main living areas (that got a lot of afternoon sun and heat in the Summer). I researched window treatments and window covering companies forever. I finally decided to call Stoneside Blinds, after reading a lot of positive reviews. I was hesitant to call, because we have a very informal, older house with 3 kids under 10, and I did not want to spend a lot of money on window coverings. I was also concerned that the design consultant involved would want over-the-top window treatments that would waste my (and her) time. The design consultant, Melanie LeFur, came out to show me samples and check out our windows. I immediately felt comfortable with Melanie, and we actually looked at and discussed a few other windows in our house. Once Melanie got the feel for our home, and we spent some time discussing what I wanted (I did not want "heavy" blinds because I really enjoy light (what there is in Portland) and views of my backyard), Melanie had great ideas for the windows. I felt absolutely no pressure to order. Later, she sent over a few quotes for the options we discussed (since I was indecisive about what I wanted to order). We ended up ordering blinds ("Mountain Mist") for the two windows and the price was very reasonable. Once the blinds were ready, the Stoneside Blinds installer came out to install the blinds. He was a great guy, very professional and patient (we have 3 kids, that were all very interested in his work!). He did a superb job mounting the blinds in our windows. We love our blinds. They let some light filter in, but the heat stays out in the Summer. They have held up to 3 kids and still look fabulous in the rooms over a year later. We just bought our new home in Portland, really needed some design direction with our window coverings. There are over 20 windows in the house. We had some opinions of what we thought we might want, but working with Melanie just iced that cake, with a cherry on the top. Melanie arrived to our consultation on time and with great ideas while listening to our thoughts as well. We came up with the style, type and color for the blinds, measurements were taken and before we knew it, we were being contacted for installation dates. Paul did both a verification of measurement and installed our window coverings. Paul did an amazing job, too. End result, we are thrilled. During the time between our ordering the window treatments and when they were installed, we had over 90 degree heat day after day. Once the blinds were in, the heat was reduced, as was the amount of light coming into the home on the windows we elected to have black-out added. We also had some of the blinds motorized due to window height and lack of reachability. Everything came in as expected, actually better than anticipated, and they look great. They do exactly what we wanted them to do, provide privacy while still allowing ambient light to come in, except on the media and bedroom windows where we have black out. We highly recommend working with Stoneside for a wonderful customer experience and expert design assistance from start to finish. After the job was complete, we received calls from Stoneside corporate, from Melanie, and from Paul to ensure we were satisfied. I can think of a few companies who could learn from Stoneside's customer service! And Stoneside is USA based.

KIDSPACE Child Enrichment Center

We needed new shades for our childcare business, KIDSPACE Child Enrichment Center in Vancouver, WA. We looked at many options, online, big box stores, etc. We wanted a local experience and we got one with Stoneside. Melanie LeFur was our designer. She came in person to see us and find options which would fit our budget and meet all the licensing and aesthetic standards we needed. We were revamping an office into an executive conference room that needed to accommodate both regular conference meetings as well as video conferencing, so we needed to have some easy, but flexible ways of running shades on the windows. This is in an old building, so the windows were 10 feet tall and very narrow. We decided we needed motorized window shades to fit the bill, but found that so many of the options were rather expensive and complicated. When we contacted Stoneside, the price was right. We met with Melanie who took everything into consideration and gave us a few options and gave us some pretty good advice for what would work well and what wouldn't. She was very helpful! When the installer came, he seemed a bit rushed and a couple things didn't turn out right. When we asked about it, he didn't seem to want to take the time to correct them. This was in a 100+ year old building, and we cringed when he stuck a couple of random, unmatching hooks as what I'll call a "stopgap fix" to where one of the shades came down. We could tell he didn't want to go back and do it right, so we let it go. We contacted Melanie about our concerns, and she immediately arranged to make sure that she and the installer returned, and she made it very clear that she'd make sure he did it correctly. To our great relief, that's exactly what happened. Whew! In the end, everyone - including the exec types - were very happy with the shades. They look great and function perfectly. It might have taken a couple of tries, but it was exactly what we were needing. I'd recommend them!

Upon installation, we were worried about their durability since we have a toddler and a hyper-active dog, but although the shades look delicate, they are very well made and stronger than they looked, so we are no longer concerned. We also LOVE the cordless top down/bottom up feature. Not only does it give us the privacy we want while allowing sunlight to still illuminate our rooms, it's also very easy to use. Even my toddler can push up the shades, which is a plus because he has stopped trying to muscle the shades out of the way in order to see outside. As an added plus, since it's cordless and child safe. A++ for service and quality. I would definitely recommend.

After a lot of research, trying to make sure I could get quality and a great price, I was very close to measuring my own windows for blackout shades and ordering from a "Discount" online store. At the last minute, I found great reviews for Stoneside Blinds. I then went to their website and was very pleased to see they show you the prices for their products, instead of playing the game of giving out my information, and then getting back to me with a quote. The prices on their site were very comparable to websites that have you do your own measuring and ordering, but claim to be giving you huge discounts. The huge bonus was we got the expertise and great follow through from Melanie without paying extra money for it. She knew what she was doing, knew what options to give us, she brought out samples, and educated us on the pro's and con's of going with solar shades or blackout shades. We decided we needed blackouts, and she presented us with all the different options in quality and design. There was no pressure at all. We used to have obnoxious, oversized, cumbersome blinds, and now we have streamlined, minimal aluminum cartridges over the top of our windows, and they add to the contemporary look of our house. Nobody would walk in even thinking we had window treatments. Then, when it's time to block out all the sun and watch a movie on the big screen, the huge shades come down, and there is zero glare, anywhere. Stone side's manufacturing made a small mistake, which was almost acceptable to live with, but they got wind of it, and insisted on fixing the issue. They re-ordered, and came out only taking an hour of our time to re-install the new set. How many businesses are willing to eat it based on a small mistake? Very few, but they were. Their installers are nice people, and professional. A final note, a few of our large windows have different widths from top to bottom that aren't visible to the naked eye, but would be glaringly obvious if you ordered a shade without accounting for it. Had I not used the professionals, I would have been stuck with a huge problem. It doesn't make sense to use any online retailer, because you don't save money, and you are 100% liable for any measuring mistakes, or if you dislike a fabric that arrives. Next time I have window treatment needs, there isn't a need to comparison shop.

We absolutely love our new Stoneside shades. The color is warm, and we especially love the top down shades in the master bedroom. Many years ago, when I bought shades for that room, top downs were not available in that large width, so we always kept the front bedroom shade closed for privacy. Unfortunately, not only could we not see out the front, it also made the room darker. Now when I set both bedroom shades open at the top, we get more natural light and a beautiful view of the tree tops out front and out the side windows. We are both very pleased.

Let me just say that Melanie LeFur has made me feel like the Queen of Sheba with the shades she helped me find for my townhouse. Melanie actually came to OHSU (where I was awaiting a friend's emergence from surgery after having his shoulder rebuilt) and met me in the hospital lobby toting her gargantuan set of samples. (This warrior doesn't need Crossfit!) As we sifted through the choices, I wanted something more "glam" with more "bling" and more "sparkle." (sigh...I do miss LA...) and after paging through hundreds of beige offerings (stop it, America...just stop it), we found it...Anthracite in the Pizzazz line (natch) of Transitional Shades. Glittering like a beacon in the night sans disco music, I knew I HAD to have it in my house. I took out a line of credit so big I could have bought Studio 54 itself..oh and Melanie helped with that too. She told me that sometimes we have to suffer for glamour...er, no wait...that was my Mother (R.I.P.) I decide to add motorization to the order and Melanie kicked in a sweetener to remind me that even though these shades will impoverish me, I can still be fabulous. "Luxe" she called it. The deal is signed and she places the order. Joe Bach appears at my door shortly after the order is placed - think New York, soft spoken and nice, REAL nice - like- a-cannoli nice. He measures my place to within an inch of its life and says (darkly), "You will receive a call from scheduling." Scheduling calls and sets an appointment for exactly one month later. And then...I wait. A month goes by and I live in full view flagrante view of my new neighborhood - often unapologetically dancing the Seven Veils in my birthday suit to entertain the sonorous suburbanites. And then the day arrives... Joe comes bearing gifts of fabric and machinery! He expertly installs them; fine tunes them and even allows me to design the automation. He explains every little protrusion and piece and I feel more educated about blinds than ever before. Joe has forgotten more about blinds and shades than any of us even KNOW! I suffer arrhythmia when he says those magic words, "Where do you want to set your 'favorite' setting?" I don't know. I panic. I sweat. I ask him what he thinks and he shows me what "most people get." Most people!? Doesn't he know who I am?!! Ahem, sorry...Joe does this with a smile and not a small peppering of glee. Regaling me with stories of his daughter using the iPhone app to scare him by opening his shades remotely when he's home alone. This New Yorker smiled...A LOT. Joe is at my house for exactly 3.5 hours (which he had predicted) and trains me on how to use them and what to expect. "Will they tell me I'm a good person?," I ask. "Will these blinds love me more than my father did (not hard)?" I plead. They are certainly more expensive than his funeral, but I digress. Joe mounts the remote on the wall and departs with a swift grip on his ladder. And then...I fail. In a swish of pretentiousness, I decide to present them to my roommate. One of the shades does not open. The remote doesn't work. The buttons fail. Things darken. Donald Trump must be near. In a tizzy, I text Melanie at 9:00pm asking what to do and how can this be and where did everyone screw up and...and...and...she calmly texts that all will be solved tomorrow. And so it was. Joe magically calls the next morning and comes over and fixes everything. I had the remote mounted too far from the receivers. Operator error! He fixes that and fixes other noises and makes calls to other installers to get best practices. (They speak a dialect few understand...) And just like that...I am the Queen of Sheba; El Rey de la Selva; Oprah. My shades are perfect. Today I sit on my throne(s) and open and close them with a perverse sense of entitlement. "Why doesn't everyone have these??!", I think. The reason? Everyone doesn't have Stoneside. Thank you Melanie and Joe.
