The shades work well, and look pretty good - we've been desperate to have them and we are so glad we do. The road to get to this point felt long, and like it took a lot of work on our end. We were recommended to Budget Blinds by our realtor, but I'm not sure we'd continue the recommendation train. Overall, communication seems to be the biggest opportunity - our consult was very quick, but everything that came after that seemed to drag on. Finalizing the order took weeks of back-and-forth emails and lots of clarifying, re-clarifying and making adjustments to work with our budget. We could've used more guidance and/or options from our designer, but she seemed to have a lot on her plate. Once we placed our order and paid (this was the biggest purchase we made for our new home), no acknowledgement or detailed receipt, or expected next steps were provided - I even had to call in after a few days to make sure it went through! I appreciated that the customer service team was available via text for quick questions, but I wish there were more proactive updates provided. The installation team was very nice, informative and quick. They arrived not wearing masks, but put them on once we asked.

The designer and installer were both very professional. The designer, Michelle, was super helpful and had great ideas. She was willing to talk about potential other projects, while also focusing on the main project we wanted completed first. There was no pressure to do more than we were ready for, but she was happy to talk options and figure out pricing. The whole process was easy and the project was installed ahead of schedule. And we're really happy with our new shades. I would recommend this company for window coverings.

Budget Blinds was discovered by my 85 year old mother who is very conscientious about cost and value. After observing the great experience she had with BB and Hanna the rep, we decided to use them as well. Absolutely solid service, good value and expedited response rate. The installer also noticed a very minor flaw with one blind and ordered a replacement on the spot which was installed a few weeks later. I would highly recommend BB for your blind needs. They are knowledgeable, swift and produce quality work!

We purchased honeycomb shades for our living room, and the experience was seamless. After submitting an online inquiry, I received a call back within a day or so, and scheduled an appointment for a design consultant, Wendy, to come to our house (they were about a week and half out on appointment times). I had an idea of what I wanted, but Wendy was very helpful in presenting different options with great attention to detail, and provided a quote on the spot. I believe the lead time was estimated to be 4 - 6 weeks, and they were installed exactly 4 weeks from the order date. Their installer was professional and informative, and the process only took about 15 minutes total. We're very happy with our shades and would definitely recommend Budget Blinds of Central Portland.

I’ve used Budget Blinds for all the blinds on my house (multiple purchases). Their consultants are friendly and helpful, and the installations have been efficient. The only critique I have is that it can take several weeks-months to get some designs in, which may not be practical depending on how quickly you need your blinds. Would absolutely use again (I have 3 times so far!) and would absolutely recommend.

Working with Budget Blinds to get some Lutron Serena wood shades installed was such a joy! After connecting with them through their website, a rep was at my house for measurements with 48 hours. Despite being initially quoted 6 weeks for installation, I received notice that my shades had arrived much earlier and installation was scheduled the next day! I received a call the day of that their installers could come by earlier, which worked great for my schedule. 25 minutes later, everything was installed and ready to go. Who could ask for more? My home has a lot more windows, so I'll definitely be coming back to Budget Blinds in the near future.

It's been a year since my blinds were installed and I'm really happy I used Budget Blinds of central Portland. I called and they scheduled me in for a a consultation. My consultation experience was great. There are so many options! Hanna, my design consultant listened, and narrowed it down to some options which fit my needs and aesthetic. I still love the look, quality, and functionality of what we chose. Her measuring was spot on too. The blinds fit perfectly. Installation was scheduled as soon as the blinds were available and it was friendly and efficient. Everything was cleaned up, and I wouldn't have known they were there except for the fantastic blinds. There was a wait on the sheets to be available but now, 12 months later, it doesn't even seem to matter. Great experience from start to finish.

We love our blinds! This was our first time getting custom blinds, and while they were a little more expensive than we thought blinds would be, Budget Blinds was able to offer us a new homeowner discount, and showed us several options during our in-home consultation that were similar in look at a few different price points. There was a little snafu on installation day when the installer realized the measurements weren’t quite right, so they had to take them back to the warehouse to be recut to size. This delayed installation for another week, and while thankfully we didn’t have excessive heat during this time, we were a just little dismayed by not having any blinds up for privacy during that week, but it was ok. We love our top-down/bottom-up blinds. They have a lifetime warranty which we appreciate. Also we are happy to find a local retailer for blinds, and they were very easy to communicate with via text, phone and email, which made it very easy to know what to expect and communicate in the ways we prefer (mostly by text!).

It was incredibly helpful to talk through the various install options with such knowledgable professionals. I now know exactly what to expect and have confidence they will do a great job once my order arrives. UPDATE: The installers were awesome! Punctual, extremely conscientious, and hardworking. They explained everything they did and went above and beyond, i.e. they very generously installed two hooks I had bought for hanging outdoor lights and Johnny came back the next day to swap out the standard-colored chain guide so that it matched the other hardware. I wanted the same look and function and Budget Blinds delivered. They also installed room darkening shades in our bedroom which were very effective and made a huge difference in our sleep quality. Budget blinds was very professional, always on time for appointments, called me back to respond to my questions promptly, and prices were very competitive. 9 months after my blinds have been installed, they still look great and I've had no problems with them. The only thing that wasn't great was, I needed blinds in the summer time and they were super busy, I had to wait six weeks from the first time I called to the time of installation. It took a long time, but I would still wait again because they were great with everything else!

An otherwise reasonable purchase experience undermined by limited installation resources. After waiting 6 or 7 weeks for the custom shade to come in, the installation (schedule 2 weeks prior) happened... somewhat. One of 2 shades was installed successfully but not particularly well (or is it customary to offset the shade so that it's positioned with 2" to the left of the window and 1/4" to the right?). The other couldn't be installed because the installer didn't have the right drill bit. He left after assuring me that the company would be in touch with me to schedule the rest of the installation. Two days later I contacted them and was scheduled for the follow-up almost 2 full weeks from the day of the phone call--2 weeks after the installation should have been done). The shade requiring the drill bit is also more on the left than on the right (not centered) over the window--a result of the first installer starting to drill a hole (and thus committing to a location for a bracket, and the rest fills itself in as there's only one place the other bracket could have gone). So while I could be enthusing about the designer that came over and had great ideas for how to handle my space, I'm complaining about an installer that's not even an employee.

I’ve been wanting to get a remote controlled shade for my large living room window forever and finally pulled the trigger. . I googled and found Budget Blinds and based on other reviews booked an in-home consultation with Wendy. She had plenty of samples to choose from and gave me a few quick estimates from a few that I liked. I settled on a Lutron Room darkening shade for its design and quite motor. When the shade was due in they texted me and set up an appointment and It only took Will and Riana about 45 minutes to install. I am stupidly excited about having this shade to darken the room for non-glare of the TV and Video games. Also, Portland’s not getting any cooler and this will help keep the heat down. I also want to mention that all in home meetings were done with masks for good COVID protocols. I would definitely use Budget Blinds of Central Portland again for any of my widow treatment needs.

The gal that came out to measure was very helpful and I was told installation would be 3-4 weeks. At 3 1/2 weeks I called to get status and was told they just received my order and it would be 4-6 weeks before installation would complete. This was disturbing to me and I asked that a manager call me. The same day I was informed that my order had arrived and installation could be that Friday. In installer arrived on time was friendly and installed very quickly. So I am please with product and installation however communication needs attention
