We had Zen Windows replace every window in our house this spring. The process was even easier than I hoped for. With no sales pressure, super responsive to questions and just overall easy to work with. They 100% stick to the price they quote you even if something unexpected pops up. We had a change that had to be made to our bedroom windows that caused the price of the windows to go up and they did not charge us anymore than what was first quoted. Brian, our installer and his team did amazing work making sure everything was perfect and the way we wanted it and always left their work areas spotless when they were done. I have already recommended them to friends who have already gotten quotes from them and plan on using them if that tells you anything. When we are ready to get our new doors installed I will definitely be using them for that as well.

We just had 25 windows installed with Zen Windows. Throughout the whole process they had great open communication & were very professional as well as personable. We weren't home most of the time the week of the installation and had zero issues with mess. They were very tidy & communicated with us on when they would be in and out. We immediately noticed how consistent our house temperature was from room to room on both levels of the house. We will be referring them to anyone & everyone who we know that needs new windows! The double hung windows are easy to operate & gave our 110 year old farm house a much needed facelift!

When researching many window installation companies, 1 company stood out far above the rest (Zen Windows). From the estimate to the installation, every step was smooth and easy. Easy to work with. The installers we're also very polite and respectful to our home. Protective covers on floors and furniture. Building a new home and having to replace windows after 5 years is beyond frustrating (they were not from Zen)! Having said that the entire process from talking to Matt, getting the quote in email, having someone come out to measure, and installation was the best experience I have ever had with a business. The ABSOLUTE best. Totally lives up to their name. It was a calm, honest, and caring experience. Matt took care of us with a great estimate, good advice, and no pressure. Their installation crew, Brent and Brandon, were the best! They were clean and professional, they handled a curve-ball my house threw at them quickly, expertly, and without additional cost! The windows are beautiful and the Zen team is respectful, great communicators, prompt, helpful...pretty much everything you could hope for from purchasing all the way through installation. The customer service alone sets them high above. Their sales tactics were not pushy, and prices competitive with Pella. We made a big purchase for a sunroom full of windows, and while the story leading up them needing to be replaced was not pretty (dishonest realtor, shoddy inspection), Zen managed to put a happy ending on it. Pretty impressive!

I called to.ask about egress windows. My first question was do you handle new egress installation . The person didn't answer but just started asking my details, then asked again why I was calling after about 3 minutes of getting my information, then said we don't do this but we can refer you to... I hung up! Moments later the company owner called me, and offered an apology for the bad service from their answering service. He was truly interested in me as a customer. We spoke for a few minutes. Told me about some partner companies they work with. I was satisfied with that and was happy with the service recovery. He then further wanting to build rapport offered me a small gift for my inconvenience, he insisted. I WILL contact them in a year or so when it's time to get new windows for my home. They really did win back my business and impress me.

If you're comfortable working on-line and will to do your homework, there is none better in Des Moines. One year later: the second experience with Zen Windows was as good if not better than the first. Great windows at very reasonable prices and a totally stress-free ordering process. Alix & Matt are great to work with - very responsive, very knowledgeable and very professional. Installation was perfect.and we could not be more pleased with the outcome.

I can't say enough good things about the owners and staff at Zen Windows. I needed to have some windows replaced prior to selling a house, and everything about working with this business was easy. I just had to email pictures of the windows in order to get a quote. Once I got the quote, they quickly sent someone out to do measurements. After that, the timeline for installing the windows was a lot shorter than expected. Matt & Alix are super professional. They respond to emails very quickly, and my questions were always answered. The people who measured and installed the windows were so competent and professional, and in the end, the windows look great! In comparison, Window World sent a slow-moving and terse fellow who had to physically look at my windows and ask me what Zen Windows was charging before spending literally 10 minutes in my driveway, silently filling out a paper form that in the end provided me with a quote that was only $20 cheaper than the price from Zen. Zen Windows will be my only window provider from now on.

They just installed all new windows in our house. They were great to work with. The first quote was done all via email, which was much better than a previous quote we'd gotten with a pushy salesman in our house. They answered all of my many questions very quickly, and communication was excellent throughout the entire process. When it came to installation, Brian and his son did our install and they were fantastic. They were very friendly, cleaned up after themselves, and did excellent work. I was blown away that he trimmed out the entire house in one day and everything looked great when finished. We only had a couple minor issues. First, our windows took a lot longer to come in than expected. In total it was about 4 months from ordering to getting them installed. It sounds like it's this way for everybody though because of Covid, and they were waiting on the glass manufacturer. So certainly not their fault. The second issue was one of the windows wasn't quite what we had ordered. When we brought it up they immediately offered to either order us the correct window, or allow us to keep the one that we had received and a discount on the job. I could tell they genuinely felt bad and their offer was more than fair for the mistake. I highly recommend them and would work with them in the future without any hesitation.

Matt was incredibly helpful despite the fact that Zen Windows doesn't do the kind of broken glass repair I needed. After hearing my confusion about how to fix the original cause of the broken window, Matt offered the help he could offer. He recommended glass repair shops for the pane and then taught me how to fix my own windows! He invited me to send him pictures of my windows and he taught me how to unlock the pivot shoe and remove the pin, pointed me towards the specific parts online (only $20), and empowered me to take care of my other windows that had ceased functioning. He was generous with his time and knowledge and I'm incredibly grateful.

They were only a bit more expensive than Window World, and the windows are amazing quality! They always responded quickly to questions. Had a total house replacement of old drafty windows with new vinyl Zen windows. Product is great, temperature difference in the house is amazing. Installation went very smooth, contractors were professional, cleaned daily, and got the job done well. Any unexpected issues they ran into were definitely resolved to my complete satisfaction. Woodwork replacement and exterior looks original, you can barely tell these windows weren't original. Pre-sales experience was fantastic as well, no pushy salesman, very quick quote process, and their quote (promise) was spot on. If you want an easy, no hassle, experience, great product and value for your house, Zen Windows DesMoines would be my recommendation.

Would recommend to others and will both utilise and refer in future if needed. Thank you for caring about your customers Matt! Original- Had called on Monday August 30 2021 early in the afternoon. Am unsure who I spoke with since the lion crackled slightly right as she said it but she was very polite and nice. I had no problems with her and she did her best to answer my questions about a door installation my family needed done. However she was unable to answer all of my questions so she took my name and number and said she would have someone call me the next day who could answer the rest. Have received no calls at all for follow up and have had to hire a different company due to lack of communication. Very disappointed and frustrated considering that all the reviews I had read had been positive which is why I called Zen in the first place.

My experience working with Zen Windows Des Moines was truly amazing. Buying replacement windows for me was a big time investment (almost too big). So off I went looking for that hard-to-find combination of quality and a fair price. Well folks, I got lucky when I found these guys. Three reasons why I think they are the best: 1) they sell/install top quality windows (I did my homework); 2) their installers proved to be skilled craftsmen that take enormous pride in their work and 3) the owners care...a lot...they take the time to make sure you are comfortable and happy with every step throughout the process. I have worked with other window companies in the past; their products and service did not hold a candle to Zen. Not even close. It's almost unfair. One last comment, and it was a big part of why I picked Zen - no sales pressure. No high pressure salesman will come to your house with his hour long dog and pony show (including props) telling you you have to sign a contract today or else. With Zen there is none of that nonsense. Just send them the pictures, get a written quote with a guarantee, and you decide. Done. This is the best experience I've ever had working with any company on a major purchase. Period.

Choose Zen and you will not be disappointed! Ton of value, no pressure, excellent people, excellent quality. I shopped around a TON. When I found Zen, I was skeptical and thought the quote (and reviews I saw online) were “too good to be true,” but the work and the service were outstanding. Nothing came close to comparing to Zen’s quote given the quality and service. Regarding the install, Brian (the installer) clearly knew what he was doing and did his job like a true pro. I can’t say enough good things about Alix, Matt, Brian, and their entire team at Zen. You cannot go wrong choosing them! Second Review: We chose Zen to replace our sliding glass door and they exceeded our already-high expectations. In addition to all that I said above, they always go the extra mile to ensure the project is absolutely perfect. We are so glad to have this company in Des Moines!

This was a major purchase for my husband and I, as we were replacing every window in our house. From the very first interaction to the very last one, I only have positive things to say. We did a lot of research on different window companies and received quotes from Andersen, Pella, and Zen. Zen's online process was by far the best experience as we didn't have to endure lengthly sales presentations like we did with Andersen and Pella. We had many questions for Matt and exchanged many phone calls and texts with him. He was upfront and honest with us regarding all different types of windows based on his lengthly experience in the industry. Matt was personable, easy to talk to, and answered every question we threw at him. Matt never once pressured us into any purchase. We ultimately choose Zen based on Matt's second to none customer service, the quality of window they offer through their manufacturer partner, the qualification process they go through with their installers, and their competitive price. Once we went with Zen, they came out and measured our windows and we had to wait 8 weeks while our windows were custom built. Once they came in, Brian and his family installed all the windows in our house and did an amazing job. They were quick, cleaned up after themselves, and even answered questions we had about other areas of our house. Brian is truly an expert in his craft of installing windows. Tom did an amazing job matching the new trim; you cannot tell the difference in the new trim around the windows and oak finish of our kitchen cabinets and our baseboard trim. Dan finished a few of our windows as well and did a great job. Overall, we are thrilled with our new windows and would chose Zen again in a heartbeat.

We met Alix and Matt at last years Iowa State Fair while walking thru the Industry and Trades building. We had wanted new windows for our home for the longest time and had walked past several window displays. You can spot high pressure sales people a mile away as we kept walking. We came to Zen Windows display (Don't pay $1200 for a $599 window) and immediately sensed a difference as Alix and Matt were easy to talk to and down to earth people showing us their windows. Alix gave us her card and we told her we'd be in touch. Alix sent an e-mail following up with their window and door brochures along with video links. I liked this as I'm old school and like to do my homework and research. We exchanged several more emails with questions from us and one telling of an up coming price increase. Having built our home we had blueprints and sent them and got our estimate. With several changes and additions to the original estimate we signed our agreement. Dan came to measure our windows and was very professional as was Brian and the install crew having excellent craftsmanship and skills. Yes- Let me start with - "Zen - where have you been"? From beginning to end, the installation of our Zen Windows has been nothing but positive. From our initial contact ( we contacted them ) there was no high pressure sales presentation to suffer through, no tricky maneuvers to be on guard for, and no fine print to be surprised by. Our windows were ordered and arrived in short order well packaged and protected. An installation date was then established . Our installers arrived exactly on the day that was predetermined and began the process of installing 21 new windows in our house. Our home is over 125 years old and has many unique design features that we wanted to preserve and the installers had their work cut out for them. They were up to the challenge. Every window fit and was trimmed out beautifully. They were the ultimate professionals -knowledgeable, polite, interactive, and open to suggestions. There was virtually no mess for us to clean up, either inside or outside of our home. There was no payment to be made - not even a down payment - until we were completely satisfied with all aspects of the job. And when the bill was due, it was exactly the figure that had been determined at the beginning. The Zen company was in regular contact with us throughout the entire process. It is extremely rare for all these fine qualities to come together in one sale in today's marketplace. We had done our homework online and had seen only positive reviews and we hoped for the same, given many company's sales tactics of over - promising and under- delivering. We were not disappointed in the least. I wholeheartedly endorse this company and would recommend them to anyone who is interested. Thanks Zen!

My main floor windows that came with the purchase of my home, needed a major update . I went online and found Zen Windows in DM and read their reviews and instantly determined , they would be perfect for my project. During my initial consultation, they were able to pull up an image of my home and we did the entire process over the phone, making it super convenient. After we agreed on the style of windows and the color of the trim, they sent me my quote and once I approved, my windows were ordered. The windows arrived fast and their super friendly team installed them in one day. I love my windows. I didn't think I could be this excited over something that's a necessity in everyone's homes. I don't even have coverings on them because they are big and beautiful and they let in so much light. I highly recommend Zen Windows for your window projects not only for the quality of their windows but because their team is so wonderful to work with.

They replaced 9 windows and trim. This is an older home so they had to have the trim done at a local milling place as you can't get that stuff at the local big box stores. Brian was great on the installation and also noticed a place on our new metal roof that was not done right by one of the windows. He made a piece of flashing and fixed that problem at no extra charge. That's the type of people you are dealing with when you work with ZEN. After the initial quote of pocket windows they decided to upgrade the windows to full frame replacements. These are more expensive and I was scared I was getting the old bait and switch. That wasn't the case. Matt didn't want to change the quote, and ZEN ate the difference in the cost. Very satisfied with the whole process.

On a previous house I had gone with "cheap" windows and regretted it almost immediately! I researched what manufacturer they used etc...
