We had 11 windows installed by Ransom, Maggie, Rob and the rest of the crew. We had some windows in brick, removal of a bay window and a few other challenging windows. They were totally awesome, professional, friendly, and hard working. Ransom not only managed the entire install but did all the fine trim work, he is truly a master carpenter! We had an excellent experience and know it was because of the install crews dedication to customer satisfaction. If you are looking for new windows, check out UWD and I hope you get the same crew for your job.

This week we had 18 new windows put in with Universal. The crew was lead by Ransom and he did an excellent job! Our windows had to be completely ripped out, trim and all and Ransom's crew made them look gorgeous! I am excited to see how our utility bill changes to reflect all the new insulation these windows will provide.

We began our experience the end of October, 2021. We ordered and paid for 6 windows and a front door. The installation of the windows went well. The door was not as easy. The first installation of the door, the installers forgot the trim. Second visit to install the trim, the door was installed crooked. The THIRD visit to level the door, the part around the door was cracked. I called to schedule to have it fixed and it was a disaster. My choice was to accept another broken piece OR wait an additional 6 months. At this point in time it is May, 2022! I was dealing with the Columbus office. The Columbus office does not believe in customers first. At one point, I was sent to the voicemail for my 2 attempts to call.. only after using my sons phone on the third time, did I reach the rude staff member. Our door drama went on for months. During this time, I received an email asking for me to fill out a survey. The survey was sent by a contracted company FOR universal windows. I contacted the person at the end of the email, who then contacted a person from Universal Windows. Her name is Bridget McQuaide. She is excellent, truly appreciates customers and fights for justice to be done. Finally, Sept. 2022 our Door was finished. She made sure the door was done in a month and that we received compensation. Compensation for the incompetence of the staff, Compensation for the rude treatment from the Columbus office, and Compensation for the total inconvenience. We also were rewarded for being kind and patient during this horrible process. Will I contact Universal Windows for future? Yes, as long as I can work with Bridget. She was excellent. Product is important but not as important as customer service!

I have seen multiple commercials for Universal Windows Direct on channel 6 and I finally decided to give them a call as we are in DIRE need of windows and a sliding glass door. The customer service was on point with scheduling and Devin Wells came out a few days later. His presentation and information was awesome and we decided to pull the trigger. The 2 man crew showed up at 10 am. They had all the windows but one. Called the warehouse and they brought it out. The crew worked until 8 pm that night to ensure the job was done in one day. They killed it! Windows look great and the cleanup was top notch. They even capped some wood that had a bit of rot to it, at no extra charge. I'm very pleased.

The only thing that I was not thrilled with is the fact that it took several months before the windows could be installed. I had made 3 payments towards my account before they were installed. Now that the work is done I am very happy to have them done. Every window in my home was broken in one way or another. It is wonderful to have fully functional windows again.

Three gentlemen showed up at 9 AM this morning and were done by 1:30 PM. After scheduling the appointment I was told it would take two days. I had 9 windows installed, they took the old ones with them, took all their trash, and cleaned up as they went. They did an awesome job!

Excellent demo and the price for my project was much less than I had budgeted for. I will update my review once installation is completed, but as of this moment I expect it will remain at 5 stars! ***UPDATE (post installation)*** Definitely would recommend (and have recommended). The installers did an amazing job, cleaned up after themselves and the installation was actually completed a week before it was predicted at the time of ordering! Everyone has noticed (and complimented) the new windows/doors. It has made the house much more bearable through the summer heat and I expect it will really make a noticeable difference this winter.

Nik arrived in the time frame that I was told. I moved my 2 vehicles so he wouldn't have to walk back and forth. He talked about what was going to be done and I left him to it. During the install of 1 window he mentioned that he left his charger at another location and I told him that I will get my impact. Nik was very professional in doing the job. The window tearout was a little noisy, but afterwards I visited Greg/Mike to check progress, they were that quiet. Our decision to go with Universal Windows Direct was made easy. There was no pressure to sign anything "that day", we were assured our BOGO price would be good if we decided to go that direction. They held true to their word after a months time. We noticed a difference within minutes of new windows being installed. There is no longer a light breeze throughout the house and we don't hear outside noises like we did before. The gentlemen that installed the windows showed up at 9:30 and ready to go. As one window was removed, the other followed by installation. They were very professional, efficient and cleaned any debris as the worked. Universal Windows Direct was the only company that did not charge extra to have our external window black to appease our associations rule on NO WHITE windows, but we have white on the inside just as we wanted. The salesman that came to our house was a little pushy about getting the sale but we couldn't pass up the cost. I love the windows, they look and work wonderfully. The installers were very nice and willing to work with me on allowing my crazy dogs out with them getting bombarded during the installation (I deal with so many people that are afraid of my furbabies). I was not a fan of the sales tactics as far as both parties being there for the appointment or the 80's style sales presentation and tactics. When the windows were installed, I was really impressed with experience and installation from the crew. (John, Billy, Tayna) I would give 5 stars if not for the sales part of the process. I was so frustrated from the sales process that I almost gave up with them, but the install crew made up for it though.

We got 6 windows, and they are amazing! Firstly, the installers, James and Eric, were just wonderful. They answered all our questions, and made sure everything looked perfect. They were very kind and helpful to my family while I was at work. Secondly, the windows have changed so much around our house. We live on a corner where there are a lot of inconsiderate bikers, and wannabe drag racers. They would wake us up at all hours of the night. However, since we got our triple pane windows, we've been sleeping through the night with very little noise. The windows look beautiful, and we will be calling them again to do more windows in a few months!

From start to finish I was very impressed with UWD. Rep came out second week of March and our windows were installed last week on the 15th of April. Our sales rep was very knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions. We didn't have many due to his thoroughness about the company, process, windows in general, timeline, etc. We also weren't expecting the great communication via email and phone on where we were in the process and or if items needed to be scheduled. The follow up was great. They came in and were able to install most of our windows in one day and only had three left day 2. They were extremely polite, and clean while in the house. They did clean up after themselves very well. The only thing I didn't like is that they didn't clean the windows after the install and we still has sticker/finger prints inside and out. That would be my only complaint and I can live with that based on everything else we experienced. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for the best price, with quality and professionalism. I called for a quote from Universal and they sent someone out the next day at a time that works best for me. The sales rep, Nolan, was very professional and knowledgeable on the company and their windows. After evaluating their products/process compared to another quote we received, even for a little more cost we decided to move forward with Universal Windows Direct. Install is getting scheduled now within about 12 weeks, which is the fastest around right now. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is when I called to schedule the quote, I was promised an hour max for time for the quote, but that's just not feasible. No fault to the sales rep, but the people schedule shouldn't promise this.

Had Universal Windows Direct replace all windows in our home and they did an excellent job! From the sales process, to the scheduling everything went smoothly. But we knew installation was going to be the real test. Our installation team was outstanding. A two man crew who worked tirelessly over 4 days to install 17 windows (our house is a 70 year old, concrete block custom built home and I was worried what they would run into). The entire process, from start (speaking with the salesman) to finish (installation of windows) was a pleasant experience. I am so extremely pleased with the quality of the windows, as well. This took place on a day that it was over 100 degrees outside and prior to having my new windows, it would be so hot upstairs, to the point that I would avoid being upstairs. Yesterday, our new windows were installed 😁 Let me take a minute to tell about our journey to new windows We've been down low shopping for windows since we bought the house in '18. I looked up several companies, scoped out reviews, read descriptions, talked to sales people at the home and garden show. When we finally decided now is the time we once again looked at reviews and they all have a similar percentage of bad reviews. Guessing people will tear down a company before shouting out a good job. We decided we'd talk to a couple companies that had the best window descriptions. Talked to a representative to get our first window salesman to the house. Let me tell this, gentleman was on top of it. Extremely knowledgeable, friendly and believe it or not he wasn't pushy. He understood, BIG DECISION, we had to be sure. Patiently he answered all our questions, some more than once 🤷 He showed us his traveling display. After talking about it, we decided those were what we wanted. So I cancelled the second window meeting. The measuring tech came out to do his part. This guy would be why someone like my husband would give a bad review, only because he asked the same question several times to make sure the order he was filling measurements in for was correct. A discrepancy was found. I called our salesman and it was immediately taken care of. 10 weeks or so later our windows arrived. I have been around construction workers of one type or another all my life, so I know what to expect. This crew went beyond expectations! They were precise, quick, neat and cleaned up after themselves. They were the way I remember construction workers being years ago. They took pride in their work. After some of the home renovation disasters we've encountered this was heart warmingly welcome. Thank you Universal Window for a job well done from start to finish!

I had 12 windows replaced in May of 2021. I really enjoy the fact that I can open all my windows without propping them up. Heath Merryman sold me on the windows and I am so glad I chose Universal Windows Direct. My home was built in the early 1900’s and what a difference they have made on heating and cooling. Universial Direct is an amazing company!!! Got my living/family room energy efficient windows installed in 2 hours. Love how you can open them from the top or the bottom. Also have a smart thermostat in the room with the House facing the sun in the evening. Instantly can already see the difference. I keep the thermostat at 72 but in the evenings it can go as high as 76 in the summer due to the sun hitting it. Now with the new energy efficient windows, it stays right at 72 to not over-exhausted the HVAC. I'm overjoyed to now use the room to be the same temps as the rest of the house!!! 🤗

**update** windows are now installed, they are pretty nice, one is very stiff and i hope it gets easier to open and close as we use it more. I do see a few flaws that are upsetting considering im paying 14K everything should be flawless. Our house was in desperate need of new windows, the appointment was easy to schedule, the salesman Rene Trigg was super friendly and very knowledgeable, he was good with our 2 dogs. Would recommend if looking for windows or other outdoor projects. **Update** changing to a 4 star review, the process slow, ok whatever but now having to have multiple appointments to measure the windows is a bit much. For the cost (could buy a nice used car for the cost of 10 windows) you'd think the measurement technology would be spot on and not need multiple appointments.

UPDATE TOWARDS THE END........ I researched extensively before choosing Universal Windows Direct. Their prices are fair and the window quality is good. It is the install I am dealing with right now. The salesman Heath Merryman was great and I had specific questions he was able to answer. We like the windows - thet are solid and offer that insulation we needed. They look great on the inside and out. When "Pete and Pete" showed up they got right to work. Pete#1 had broken english and said he and "Pete" were from Ukraine, as long as they do good work I didnt care. As they finished the inside and began the outside I noticed they did not install any J Channel under my vinyl siding. When I asked "Pete#1" where it was he said they dont put J channel. ???whaaaat??? And they were bending metal for trim. I have experience with window install, construction and what is right and wrong. In fact J Channel was a specific question I had for Heath. "Yep absolutely we do J Channel". As I watched "Pete#2" exit the truck he had about 6 tubes of caulking...no they wouldn't. YEP!!!! They ran a bead of caulking 3/4 inch wide around all of my windows. On the first window I asked Pete why and he said we do on all windows. They dont give us J channel. I asked him to stop and call someone because - there are too many reasons to state here why caulking that thick and vinyl siding wont work - and he shrugged and kept on. I contacted Heath, he forwarded my concern to someone else. So I have $$,$$$ in windows sealed up with $5 caulking. Then the fun starts. After they left and I am fuming...as I walk around my house there are more windows than not where the Petes didnt even ensure the siding was touching their caulking. They sent a person out a few days later to check my complaint and the guy walked all around shaking his head and taking notes. Service called a few days later and said they would be out and put in j channel and make it right. Today they were supposed to do that. Between 0800 and 1000. 1000 i call...well the crew is on the way should be there soon. 1130 i call again and I get tossed around and thet say we will call me back...at 2pm i call again and they said the crews are from out if town and they didnt show. So tgey will be out in a coupke days. I TOOK OFF WORK TO MAKE SURE THEY DID IT RIGHT, DIDNT DAMAGE MY SIDING AND FINISH WHAT THEY STARTED. So I like the windows just not tge comoany at this point. UPDATE: Well it took a few more times before they finally have the windows as they should be. I love the windows it was the install I had most issue with. It seems to be the norm where some workers are just trying to get to the next job than doing it right the first time. I would use again but would discuss with salesman and write down what I expect to go along with their expectations. Done!!

We ordered our windows August 2020 and they were installed on January 26, 2021. Covid and glass production/demands (from all of the broken glass in the country) slowed production down which slowed the process and delivery down. The wait was long and frustrating at times, but overall we are very happy with the top quality of these windows. The double lifetime warranty is very nice too! Six windows were installed in about 5 and 1/2 hours start to finish. We had one very experienced installer who did a great job! He informed that production is improving for their windows- so our wait may have been unique to the pandemic. We negotiated and opted for an affordable monthly payment plan that starts at time of installation.

Overall installation was done very well. The crew that showed up, knocked out the job in one day. All we’re courteous and professional and did a really good job of educating me on the product. They did point out a few things that were both discussed and and not discussed in the sales meeting. I’d give the install a 5 and the sales meeting a 3. We discussed replacing the trim or capping to seal it so no additional moisture could get in or around the windows and, once the install team arrived, they said that it would be another day long job and more intensive because the trim completely needs replaced. Also, wires to my security system in the windows were cut and, we’re supposed to be brought up in the sales call, but that was not mentioned. Not sure what this is going to cost me but I’m sure I’m footing the bill for the sales rep’s mistake. Lastly, I was told to remove my blinds as all I’ll have to do is put them back in once the crew finished. The crew had to take the additional pieces off to fit the window, so I had to reinstall the blinds after they left. All in all, they did a fine job but the trim and security system issue are pretty major miscommunications or lack there of.

Great from start to finish! We live in an old farmhouse build in the 1920's and still had some old aluminum windows that needed replaced. We called and Gary Cooper came out and gave us a great deal on windows. We were on a tight budget and Gary didn't try to push us into anything more that we could afford, which I really appreciated. He took some quick measurements and left. A few days later another gentleman (sorry can't remember his name), also very nice, came out and got some "hard" measurements. Had some air leak after install, but the installer said it was due to some screw holes in the window frame. I can’t believe that! It’s probably due to lack of foam that wasn’t put around the window. Windows look good but, that’s why we had new windows installed to stop the air coming, right! Installer said he would put in an order for a new frame when he left. I have installed windows before and they had no air leaks when I finished. Hope they live up to their word!

My wife and I went with Universal Windows because of the value, quality, customer service, and responsiveness. From day one when we first contacted them to get a quote, they were all ears and wanted to do business with us. After a very convincing demonstration of their windows in February, we decided to order our new windows. Universal Windows contacted us regularly to update us on the status of our windows. They let us know when the order was completed, when the windows were in production and when they were finished. Finally, they informed us in April that they were ready to be installed. Mind you, when we initially ordered the windows, we were told that we probably wouldn’t see them installed until late May or June. However, we were able to schedule an installation date of the 28-29 of April. Unfortunately, due to bad weather they could not install the windows on the 28th. However, they called us that morning to let us know that they would come on the 29th with a bigger crew and install all 20 of our windows in 1 day…and they did just that! Not only did they do exactly what they said they would do, but they were on time, quick, professional, tidy, and did an outstanding job installing all of our windows. They answered all our questions, and were very thorough! We would recommend Universal Windows to anyone who may be in the market for new windows for their home! A well deserved 5/5 stars!

Update 10/14: The windows were finally installed at the end of September 2020. It took two days because 2 of the windows were delayed from the manufacturer. The manager kept in contact with me updating me on status of the delayed windows and he made sure that the installer put them in the next day. The installer was awesome. He was on time, clean, respectful, knowledgeable. He was the only guy here to install and he did it all. He replaced the screen on one of the windows that had a hole in it. He also replaced a piece of floor trim that broke while installating the patio door. I'm very happy he was sent to install the windows. The windows are high quality. I didn't realize how cheap and thin the original windows were. (We built our house almost 20 years ago). The upstairs is much cooler in the afternoon. We had new HVAC installed in June. It was still hot upstairs until these windows were installed. I am very happy with the windows so far. If you need windows, do not delay. Good windows do make a difference. Do your homework and get at least 2 estimates. Do not hesitate to contact the company for assistance throughout the process. Update: I left a voicemail on the installation department's voicemail around 2pm today. It's about 4pm now and I just got a call from an area manager. He got our installation scheduled and he was able to tell me which exact windows are missing. They are willing to come back out to install those windows if they don't come in by the time of our scheduled install. He was nice and he did apologize. I do appreciate his efforts. Initial review (updated for brevity): We ordered replacement windows in May 2020. We were told by the salesman initially that because of COVID, we should expect the windows to be installed in late July. Then we were told that the lead time was actually 10-14 weeks. I had paperwork stating 6-8 weeks. I've called the Columbus office twice in August. I spoke to the installation manager. He said that the windows did come in but they needed to locate the patio sliding door. He said he would call me back in 1 hour. I received no call. Another time I called I spoke to a female who said that there are 2 missing windows in addition to the patio slider. They would call when they have them in. I haven't received a call so I assume the windows are not in. There has not been good communication during this experience. At this point, I cannot recommend using this company.

Sales pitch was just that. It was a sales pitch. The whole buy one and get one free was a load of poo. And the 2 years 0% financing was a load of poo too, because you had to put down 50% to get that special financing. But I expected that. So don’t go in with high hopes as far as their “sales” are concerned. But the product is very high quality. The main thing I was impressed with other than the windows were the installers. They were awesome. Knowledgeable. Personable. Explained everything. And the windows looked great when done. So all in all, really really great product, priced similar to other window companies with equal products. Installers were great. Don’t let the sales guy put you off. When I told him to get out of my house with his initial quote, he came down 9k in less than 15 seconds. Sooooo, don’t take the first quote. Maybe I should have sent him out the door a second time to see if he would have come down even more. Hahahahaha

The only problem I have is the wait time for your products to come from the factory. Then they cancel your installation appointment over and over again. If it weren’t for that I’d have given 5 stars.

I'm glad, as it is very hot this week and this should allow me to compare the quality of these new windows against the old windows I had. I was very pleased with that! They did not, of course, block all of the heat from the sun, but the difference was extremely noticeable! I really like these new windows! I would very much like to provide a super positive review of the installers that came to do the install. They were polite, professional, and very competent. The installers did a marvelous job. They stayed until the job was done and done right. It was very hot and humid that day. There were no shortcuts, or hurry-ups. The windows that were replaced were the original 1950's windows, and would have been a challenge to replace for almost anyone. The installers stayed as long as they needed to complete the job right! Great job! I am super happy with my new windows. This is the second time I've used this company, and the service and quality remains the same for both.

We needed to get our windows replaced and was going to get a couple of estimates, but when Ryan came on 3/26/20 it was like he wouldn’t let us say no. Kept giving us discounts, but only if we signed that day. Well you’re supposed to have 3days to cancel, but be careful, because you can’t get a hold of anyone if it’s over a weekend. So we went ahead and went with them as Ryan said they were the only ones who does not sub contract for the installation. So the guys came on 5/26/20 to install them, I have a friend who needs windows and so I was asking one of the installers about the $100 for referring a friend, well he didn’t know anything about it because he is a sub contractor wow. They did do a good job installing them, but they never told us their names and they didn’t have tags on.

I received a call that the door was ready on Wednesday and it was installed on Saturday. The installer was great. The old door gave him a challenge getting it out. The new door is wonderful. The house felt warmer & quieter as soon as he was done. He did a great job of cleaning up. The only issue is the door was supposed to open from left to right ( opposite of the original). It's ok. I am happy with the entire experience. 6/3/20 update. I have been trying to schedule service on the door because the hand latch doesn't work. We played phone tag twice. I called again last week but have not heard back yet, so I changed my rating.

I had 5 windows replaced feb 2020, they were original to the house, wooden, and in bad shape. Very competitive pricing. Had Robert do the install, all by himself! He did an AMAZING job! He was professional, courteous, and fast! If you can recommend an installer, pick him! He was at the house at 8:30 am, ON TIME! He left NO mess, and answered all my questions. I will be using them for the other 2 windows I need replaced upstairs in the future! They really need to improve communication. I am extremely thrilled with my cut out and window that’s installed in my hallway. I should have had it a little higher but that’s ok. The front window frame is thicker than what I had so my blinds don’t fit in the opening anymore. And with each contracted company that came out I have said this to the project manager that it’s important to urge each person not to walk of someone’s home with things not brought in because that’s technically considered stealing. I had to watch a guy take a shop vac out of my house that was not brought in by this group of men. I tried calling to verify the reasoning before they all left. Again communication is key when removing items and at all. I must say the communication wasn’t received well either as I said ring the door bell if anyone needs me because I work from home and can pop out with communication instead someone coming up my stairs to knock on bedroom doors. Now that all of my work has been done I am complete with this project! On yo a sunroom 😅

In August of 2017 we had our Windows and Entry Door (French Doors) replaced. The presentation was good and were able to negotiate a good price. The installers were very professional and courteous. There were a couple concerns with the entry door, but due to colder temperatures opted to hold off on any necessary repairs. This year came in contact with Jordan Willis (Administrative Assistant) whom was very informative and took ownership of our concerns. Jordan has great communications keeping in contact and setting up a site service call. Joe (Production Manager) arrived and took his time to listen and address our concerns. Joe is very knowledgeable and informative, great attention to detail. Our Entry Door concerns were resolved and they (Joe and Jordan) informed that if there are ever any concerns (windows or doors) to just reach out and they will resolve any issues. Universal Windows did a very nice job on installing my windows. I had to wait about 5 or 6 weeks before they were ready...but boy when they were ready, Universal was ready to come out and install on the spot. The windows are very nice and easy to manage. I would recommend these windows to everyone. Next step is to watch my heating and cooling bills and see if they come down due to the energy efficient windows I have purchased. Update Jan 2,2020: One of the windows cracked. Long story short, customer post service has not been great at all!!! This happened in late Oct 2019. Reported to customer service early Nov 2019. I am still waiting for the window to come. Will come and update you all later.

Having said that, I don't have any complaints about the salesman that would not apply to every other salesman. I do feel like my price was determined more by inadequate characteristics of myself than any characteristic of the product and service I paid for, but once again, that experience is true of all interactions I have with businesses that use salesmen. Installation went well as far as I can tell - the installers were on time and polite, the windows look great, and everything was cleaned up afterward. I have been saving my home efficiency reports from utility companies and will update this review when more information is available. At this time, I am satisfied with the experience - it is certainly a relief to be on the other side of it with no surprises or hiccups.

The whole process was painless. From the sales rep to the guy that came to measure to the installers. I obtained quotes from 4 window companies and while the windows themselves are all pretty comparable, what set Universal apart from the rest was the customer service, price and financing options. First, the customer service was excellent. Our sales rep was very personable, straight forward, didn't waste my time, not to mention polite, professional and knowledgeable. When it came to price, Universal was about $1,000 to $2,000 cheaper than the other quotes I obtained. And what sealed the deal for me was the financing: 5 years, no interest, no money down, and no payments due for 5 months. Four words: YOU CAN'T BEAT THAT! Everywhere else either didn't have a viable option or it was up to me to get a home equity loan (which I didn't want to do. Finally, there was a miscommunication between myself and the sales rep which resulted in me getting the wrong window in one room. After speaking with the production manager, agreed to order the correct window and swap it out for no additional charge. They truly care about their customers and do everything they can to make what can be a stressful and expensive home improvement project, easy and affordable. Getting financing was easy and we are waiting for our install date in 4-6 weeks. Now we're 8 weeks in and the only response I've got from the company is "the doors aren't in yet and we'll call when they're ready to install. It's been 8 weeks. We've already made 2 payments and still no doors. After waiting for 2 months we got our doors installed. The sliding glass doors look great on the inside and out. We can really feel the difference form the old drafty wooden doors. We're very happy with them and will replace more windows when we are able.

At the beginning the experience was very good. The sales team worked hard to meet my time frame to earn my business. The gentleman that came to my house to show me samples and provide me with pricing was very knowledgeable, polite and worked with our needs very well. We accepted the quote and paid for new windows. The second step, getting windows measured, took a little longer than expected but was still very professional. Even the long wait period while the windows were getting manufactured was ok as I understand what is going on (covid) with things being slower than usual. However the major issue came with scheduling for install. I was given today 19 OCT 2020 as the install date, I wanted a different date but the lady I spoke with was pretty direct and stated that they didn't want to wait and needed to get them installed. I moved around my schedule to accommodate and was told the installers would arrive between 8-10am. This morning we had a lot of rain in the forecast so I called to make sure that the job was still on as scheduled, this was at around 8am. Around 9:30am I recieved a call from a gentleman that stated he was from the Chicago office and told me that he was in contact to them and they were on the way. At 10:30 I called and left another message since no one had shown up. I called again at 11am and again at 11:30 where I used several different prompts to find a human to speak with as all I ever get with the others is voicemail. This lady was very polite and explained to me that she wasn't in this dept. but she would send an email over to see what was happening. About 12:20 the installers showed up at my house and he didn't want to start work due to the rain and have the potential of causing damage to the interior of my home. The installer left and then I recieved a phone call from a gentleman that was following up to an email sent an hour previous. This is when I explained to him this whole scenario. This is unacceptable business practice, I don't necessarily mind that my job has been delayed due to weather but this could have been resolved before I missed a whole days worth of work and turned my house upside down to provide adequate work area for the installation. I will be reaching out to further get this situation explained. I have a new date scheduled for install and I will update this post once everything has been completed. UPDATE- We had our windows installed and the crews were very professional, efficient and cleaned up when they were done. We had issues with weather stripping coming loose on 2 windows and had a tech come out for the warranty. They showed up early and I did receive a call ahead for this appointment. I bumped this up to 4 stars because the install. I hope they take this original feedback an work on things so others have a better overall experience.

Great product! A little slow with production, but that’s only related to covid. Our salesperson advertised the windows as easy open, so easy it could be done with one finger. That is not the case. When speaking with a person at universal windows direct, she said that they should not have been advertised as such. The windows themselves aren’t hard to open, they just aren’t able to be opened with one finger. All in all, great product and we are happy with our product!

I'll tell you what I'm not sure if my installer sat in front of my house for a minute, or 10 min. But I DO know that when he said he'd be at my door at 10:00am.... My alarm and him knocking on my door was a dead tie ! Talk about prompt. And you wanna talk about professional, well on a scale of 1-10 , he was a 12 ! He had all window areas prepared and ready to remove old windows in less than an hour ! There where 5 windows (all) upstairs. When I went upstairs to offer him a cold beverage (aprox. 2hours) , he was finishing up ! This was in Aug 2019. The following winter my gas bill averaged 35% less and my electric was 25% less than the previse year... and it didn't stop there running the central AC this past summer We were still averaging a lower electric bills. I figure the end of this coming winter, the savings will have paid for themselves ! A Great quality window, and a awesome professional installer = Universal Windows Direct ! LOVE THESE WINDOWS !

He showed us samples of materials that are used to construct the windows, and allowed us to handle those materials so that we had a great idea of their solidity. Our biggest concerns were energy efficiency as well as security, and Derrick ensured to review what made the windows energy efficient and how much money we would save in the long run. As far as security, he reviewed every way which one would NOT be able to enter through the window (easily). Their warranty is outstanding, and I felt far more comfortable spending the extra money for the quality, service, and warranty. The bad note was that was the second appointment that was made for estimate to come to the house now our windows are ready we had appointment scheduled for installation today arrive time was between 8 AM and 10 AM got a call at 1:30 PM stating that our installer would not be there today. Scheduler asked if Monday would be OK I said no that is not OK as my husband and I work Monday through Fridays and had taken today off For Installation schedule her on the phone then says I will give you a call back around 230 to confirm installation for tomorrow Saturday no call has been received it is now almost 6 o’clock I have called and transferred no answer called back was told that I would probably receive a phone call today from director of installation still no car so I’m pretty sure that not going to get a call today so therefore I’m gonna have to wait till Monday and figure outWhat’s going on and then we’re going to have to schedule another day which can’t be a week from now because our house is torn apart because we had it ready for window installation today so who knows what’s gonna happen only universal windows direct can raise the rating on this review.

We had a great experience with UWD. The salesman, Clay, was incredibly nice and mindful of our wants and needs. He didn't try to push us into a product we didn't want. A gentleman came a week later, on December 19th, to take measurements. He informed us that with the holidays, it might take up to 8 weeks to get it windows back in. Got a call on January 17th (less than a month later) that they were ready, and had them installed yesterday, January 18th. They sent a two-man crew (we replaced 9 windows, total) and they were incredibly friendly and professional. The windows look beautiful and we couldn't be happier with the service we received.

Have some accountability issues on the sales process and with some follow up that was promised and hasn't come through as of yet. (Two weeks post project completion as of this review). This leads to some feelings of un-met commitments in the sales process with this situation being THE reason I picked this vendor. (Not on the part of my actual sales person. Thought Derrick did a nice job). But, disappointment on that level as could lead to sense of manipulation to get the sale on a one-call close.

I love the quality of the windows. In previous years after I moved to Ohio and purchased this house, It gets so hot on the second floor I have to leave a window open with a fan blowing out. the air conditioner didn't seem to work very good. Imagine my surprise when I got the new windows last month and this month(its 95 degrees some days) I don't have to have a window open with a fan blowing the hot air out. it wasn't the air conditioner that didn't work.. it was the old aluminum windows that didn't work!!! I'm actually looking forward to see what my electric bill is going to be. I'm willing to bet its less than last year this same time.
