Management was quick to come out and give us an estimate. Installation team is efficient and quick. Did a great job of cleaning up afterward. The first install (we broke them up over a couple rather than replace all of our windows at once) replaced the front windows of our condo, which other units liked so much they hired Scientific to do their own. Since then, they've replaced our shared stairwell windows as well. Reasonably priced for the quality and labor, would highly recommend them.

We jut replaced 17 windows and have another 10+ to go next spring. Jon was a pleasure to work with, he was patient, and very helpful in answering all of our questions. They were our first estimate and he encouraged me to seek out other estimates as well, which we did. We went with Scientific because they were local, we liked the window, felt comfortable with the quote we received and trusted they had their own install teams who were used to working with old Chicago buildings. Side note we went with a beige window which I'm thrilled we did as it matches our solid oak woodwork much better than plain white. The cost was slightly higher than white and Jon was awesome to listen and trust me with this color variation. I know I would have hated the white. We're very happy thus far with our purchase. I also want to mention I couldn't believe how well the install went. Jay and his crew of one replaced 7 windows in one day with very little mess, they covered everything with plastic and did a great job cleaning up. The second day there were 4 installers to replace 10 windows on a 2nd floor city 2 flat and they were done in less than 2 hours. The weather on this day was not ideal and they were awesome to not open up our entire house to the elements and went window by window removal and install. I highly recommend Scientific Homes, you won't be sorry.

We had all the windows in our home replaced and we are very happy with the results. We had awful old wood windows and had them replaced with vinyl. Jon came to our home to give us an estimate. We really appreciated that he didn't try to pressure us into higher priced options and was not condescending, which is what we experienced from other companies. Jon provided us an estimate later that same day and it was so reasonable, we were able to replace all our windows for what we thought just our worst windows would cost. The installation took two days, and Jay and his assistant were polite, efficient, and careful. We've had the windows 2 weeks now and we are very happy with them. Our old windows were very drafty and allowed the sun to make our south and west facing rooms very hot and uncomfortable; the new windows are such a huge improvement. We would highly recommend Scientific Home Services.

I called Scientific Home Services to look at four leaky windows in my house. Jon came out and quickly identified why the windows leaked and told me how they should and would be installed by Scientific. They had my windows custom made at an affordable price. There was no used car salesman attitude or bait and switch that is so common in the window replacement industry. The installers showed up on time and worked until they finished. The space was cleaned up when they were done. The windows look great and the first storms of the season have come and gone without any water leaking down my walls. I can't recommend the Scientific Home Services team enough. I'm so glad to have found them.

Initially thought I could have windows repaired. Service guy Victor was honest and pointed out problems with windows and why repairs would not work. Great price for the quality of the window. They were very professional. My only issue is that the replacement windows have outside frames that seem bigger that I would have liked which made the new windows smaller than the original ones. Something that goes with all the replacement windows, but I wish this had been explained better. Other than that we love the new windows.

Scientific Home Services did an excellent job replacing more than a dozen windows in our 100+-year-old house. We were worried that the vinyl windows wouldn't have the charm and heft of the old original wood windows, but the new windows look great. And we were able to customize them with grilles in the exact style of the original windows. The company's sales representative, Jon, was knowledgeable and low-pressure. He put together a proposal with several options at different price levels. The installation of the window was fast and professional--done by two certified installers, Damian and Yuri. Their work was meticulous, and the clean-up thorough. Overall, we would highly recommend this company for premier replacement windows. Update. September 2021. Based on our previous experience with this company, we hired them again to install nine more replacement windows. Again, the process was smooth--no hassles or complications at all. The installation was completely professional. Jay and Ephraim were fast, courteous, and clean. We don't have any more windows to replace. If we did, we would not hesitate to use Scientific again. On top of the great service, they offer high quality products with a lifetime warranty.

Scientific Home Services replaced one of my windows back in December, and I have been meaning to thank them ever since. I was very impressed with the friendly professionalism of the entire team. From the initial consultation to the final billing, everything went smoothly. The installer and his assistant did a fabulous job, and worked quickly and carefully. I was pleasantly surprised that all the work could be done from inside the apartment. I mention this because I live on the 3rd floor, and had assumed the work would require a ladder outside the building, in my downstairs neighbor's yard. So apartment dwellers, don't hesitate if that is your concern too! I love my new window. It looks beautiful, opens easily, and closes securely. The product and installation are top quality and well worth the price. The window will probably outlast me. Two other sets of neighbors also had several windows replaced by SHS at the same time as I did, and they are also equally pleased. My experience with this company is 100% positive. My windows were installed this week and they are beautiful. All of the people I dealt with were great to work with. The product is excellent and the installment went very smoothly. The price was very reasonable. The installers kept disruption at my house to a minimum and cleaned up so well that you could never tell that a major job took place. The windows were ready and installed exactly when they were promised, which is very rare since the pandemic. I have already had a property owner in my neighborhood knock on my door to ask where I got the windows. Of course I told him, and anyone else, that they can deal with this company with complete confidence.

I needed to replace all of the vinyl windows in my 2500 square foot two-story house (15 openings, I believe). I researched window companies that served my area based on reviews and came up with a list of five organizations. I then requested estimates from the top two on my list. Scientific Home Services was one of those I called. While you won't see any advertisements for Scientific Home Services, their reviews put them at the top of my list. Based on the estimates I received, an examination of the windows being offered and their specifications, and the warranties being offered, it was clear that Scientific Home Services offered the best value for me. I got premium double-hung vinyl windows (Climate Solutions 8000 Series) with LoE-366 glass, argon fill, and a transferable lifetime warranty for only a few hundred dollars more (in total) than the other organization's basic window. Scientific Home Services crew installed all of the new windows in a matter of two days. The crew was organized and worked well together. They seemed to enjoy their work. When I pointed-out that a few of the windows appeared to be binding, or when they ran across other problems during installation, they knew what to do and properly addressed the situations. I'm very pleased with the new windows and their appearance, the service I have received, and how much better insulated my house now is. I highly recommend doing business with Scientific Home Services. If you're looking for windows, I recommend you give Jon or Mark a call. My experience has been that they are very honest, open, and knowledgeable about the entire process of installing and replacing windows.

We replaced all the windows on our first and second floors with Climate Solutions vinyl windows. The old windows were original construction (70 years old) single-pane windows so our house was drafty even during mild winters. The difference after installation was night and day: cooler in the summer, warmer in the winter, and our utilities bills decreased. Everyone at Scientific Home was extremely professional. They were honest during our initial consultation and reliable when it came time to install. We were especially concerned about lead exposure, but they couldn't have been more careful about covering our furniture and cleaning when they were done. Around 9 months later the caulk seal around some of the windows had shrunk and began letting in cool air, but Victor offered to come out same day to fix it at no charge. Pricing was fair and competitive. Almost a year later, we're 100% satisfied with the windows and service provided by SH and I'll continue recommending them to everyone I can.

A few of my 18 year old custom wood Marvin windows would not stay up and needed repair. Victor and his helper came out, explained what needed to be done, and ordered the needed parts. He was cheaper than the competition. They came back 5 weeks later to fix the windows and gave me tips on how to maintain the window mechanism with silicone spray. This company truly did an outstanding job. They came and measured the glass, or exact when they said it would be in, they came out and fix the window so they look like new. They showed me where Windows can break and why and you can tell these gentlemen do their business inside out. I was referred to Scientific Home Services by my neighbors who had rave reviews. I needed 19 windows installed in my condo and had received a few other quotes that were between $20-40K before COVID really hit. When I scheduled with Scientific to give me a quote, I actually had a my male partner join me for the estimate, because I felt like the estimates I got while on my own may have been because I appeared to be a single woman and perhaps I was being take advantage of. When Jon came by my house though, he was better than I could have expected. First, he was right on time. He was quick, was direct with me, and gave me a quote that sounded more feasible for me. He felt honest, caring, and like a no BS type of person. He also spoke to both me and my partner as equals, versus speaking only to him which happens often. I ended up waiting a year before getting the installation and due to COVID delays and increase in parts, my price went up significantly, so DON'T delay if you can help it folks, lol. My windows were installed recently in two days, the guys were quick, respectful of me and my home, communicative, cleaned up after themselves, etc. It can be hard as a woman to find respectful and reasonable partners to do work on my properties and the folks at Scientific are some of the best people I've had work in my home to date and I highly recommend.

Scientific replaced all my windows last summer, and it has been the absolute best customer service experience ever! I spent four months getting quotes and researching. The moment I met Jon, I knew this was the company I would hire. He displayed such integrity and honesty, which I didn’t feel with the other companies. And they gave me an incredibly fair price. I recently had a problem locking one of my windows (which turned out to be entirely my fault), I was worried about causing them the inconvenience of a visit to check on it. I was told it was no problem because I was now “a member of the Scientific family.” They treasure their customers and treat you with deep respect and kindness. If you are thinking of replacing your windows, I cannot recommend the Scientific team more. Trust me! You don’t need to research your purchase any further (and NO! This is not a paid ad! They are truly this good!!!)

From start to finish, Jon, Mark, Mike, Jason and the team were fantastic! They were friendly, professional, considerate and thorough. The original estimate and on-site measurements were done quickly and accurately. Our windows (six basement, one bathroom, one garage) were installed in April 2018. The installers took great care in protecting indoor and outdoor areas and cleaning up afterward. So far, the performance and appearance of the windows has been excellent. We plan on calling Scientific to replace the rest of our windows in the future.

We were ready to replace every single window in the house, and there were a few that really didn't need it, and they let us know which saved us a good chunk of change! The pricing was very reasonable, the communication was fantastic during the lead time up to installation, and the installation team was well-seasoned in their craft. They were fast, and the quality of work is outstanding. About 6 months later having been through the warmest of warm and some solid blizzards, we have had zero issues with the windows. Victor returned my call on the same day I left a message, and scheduled an appointment. He arrived promptly, and immediately called us with his evaluation, as we live out of state. I was impressed with his honesty and quick replies to my queries. It was determined that our windows were not in need of any repairs, and his boss immediately followed up with a letter to us with the explanation. Though they didn't provide the lowest estimate to replace our patio door, they provided the most professional one. By the time the door arrived and the work was scheduled, November had arrived. Nice people to deal with from the owner to the installers, they did a good job and cleaned up well. Went with a brand of windows they recommend, the windows where delayed because of manufacturing issues. Once installed we noticed the center pain had waves in it. Winter was setting in so we had to wait for the following year to replace, we had to initiate the replacement in the spring which turned into Summer. Window was installed with the same level of professionalism. Over all great installer but not sure of the quality of the window, it feels like a much lighter construction then I expected.

Their product was the best of all I saw, and they offered the lowest price--$2,000 less that the other two companies, both of whom were poorly reviewed online. The patio doors are beautiful and have lived up to my high expectations, installation was a breeze and they were wonderful to work with--very low key and not pushy like the other two companies. It was all business with them. The guy came out, measured the doors and gave me my options and the price--no high-pressure sales tactics or anything like that. The process took about 20 minutes while the other two companies wanted 60-90 minutes so they could give me the full sales pitch. If you were my friend and told me you were replacing windows or patio doors, I would say you are out of your mind if you use anyone other than this company. I give them my highest rating.

I found this company on Yelp. They were the 3rd company I called and I'm glad I did. They were on time for the appointment and they actually came prepared with the swatches and brochures. They also came in as the best price. We ordered 2 vinyl windows windows and one sliding glass door. They told me 6 weeks because our items had to be special ordered as the outside of our windows needed green trim. They actually called me on schedule and work was completed within a week of my windows coming in. We contracted with Scientific Home Services to replace 11 windows in the spring of 2015, after Jon came and met with us and drafted a detailed quote. Jon was enjoyable, straightforward, and upfront about the project. Beware of other vendors that try to pressure you to have you sign up right away (hello Andersen Renewal and the three and a half hours "hijacking"). Most importantly, while he wasn't the cheapest, he proposed what I viewed as some of the most technically sound windows out there (from Soft-Lite). Few months later, the windows arrived, and Damian and his crew did the install in one day, from inside the unit. They were fast, and clean. Anyone walking in the unit in the evening could not have said we had 11 new windows installed the same day, given how clean they left the unit. About a year later, we sold our unit, to buy a larger unit in the same building. The windows were undoubtedly a selling point. Upon moving into the new unit, we contracted a day after closing with Scientific Home Services, given the terrific job they had done in the previous unit (same Imperial LS windows from Soft-Lite). The job was however a lot more complex, with ceilings reaching 23 feet high, and 12 of the 27 windows to replace very high-up. The windows were also reaching a size greater than what most manufacturers can do, but Soft-Lite's advanced technology enabled them to meet that challenge. Damian and Yuri did again a tremendous job installing the windows - arguably their most complex job to date. Given the complexity, it took three days to install them (again from the inside); it involved a much more prevalent safety component (being on a scaffold inside, and most of the time harnessed). The house was again protected so no debris would generate any damage, and every evening the crew would clean the house prior to leaving. A second job extremely well done!

Hi, I called Victor today about our windows which weren't closing properly (vinyl casement windows). We are facing huge humidity/moisture issues on our 2nd floor and are worried that this is causing mold/humidity. When I called him, he spent significant time on the phone undertsanding the problem and giving me advice about how to approach the window manufacturer as they were being unfair and only giving me a 1-year warrantee since they were installed in 2012. After talking for awhile, he said he would still be willing to come out to assess even though he wasn't sure if it was a service their company would provide, but it wouldn't be for 2 weeks out as he's slammed. Then -- to my surprise -- he said, "nevermind, I'll squeeze you in" and he showed up within 25 minutes with another guy (Enrique, a very nice gentleman) ! I am so touched that despite his crazy schedule he had empathy for me and came on a late Friday afternoon despite having another appointments after. He assessed 1 window and then before I knew it, without a word, he was hanging outside our 2nd story window (with his colleague supporting him) fixing it! He then proceeded to start fixing the 2nd one and then I just asked him if he could fix all 7 and he did! Turns out that yes, the original installer did NOT do a good job -- but Victor was able to adjust things, lubricate things, even open a cap to release 7 years of water build up (come on, installer!!!?) and basically fix all 7 in just 1 hour which means we don't have to replace the windows which we were afraid to do. He just charged me the normal service fee which I found was very fair. I was super surprised by how responsive and helpful he was on such short notice and will definitely use him again for any window issues and recommend to all my friends. Thank you Victor!!!

It was such an easy process. Windows were ready early and the installation team was great. They cleaned up after the installation and you would never know that all the windows had been replaced. The windows are great - easy to maintain, easy to open and it is much quieter in my place.
