We had a Hunter Douglas blind fail on a wall with a series of windows/blinds. Aesthetics aside, we need privacy on that side of the house due to the proximity of our neighbors. Virginia was super friendly, told me I could drop it off that day, and she had it done within 24 hours. She went above and beyond and that's just not the level of care you see in most business today. Thank you for a great experience and getting the blind back so quickly!

They were very helpful and on top of everything. They have a huge selection of materials and styles. The blinds were finish couple weeks earlier than we expected. They were on time for the installation, work fast and very professional. It was an easy and painless process. A little bit pricey but worth every penny.

Barrows installed seven Hunter Douglas shades in our bedroom. We were extremely pleased with the design, ordering, and installation. In particular, we had unusual shaped windows and found a vendor that could manufacture shades for those windows. Barrows was willing to work with the vendor and secure and install the shades. Everything occurred flawlesslly. We would highly recommend them.

After the long journey to total renovation of our post-war home, the time finally came for window treatments--the fun stuff. Part of our concerns were about impact resistant french doors with too much light at times and not enough privacy. We sought advice from many vendors, who told us there was no good solution without outside mounting to the wall (hiding our molding) or ruining the integrity of the doors. Then we stumbled on Matt and Barrow Custom Window Treatments. He offered a special product made for this type of situation that is a blind of the highest quality attached with adhesive. Problem solved. Where others failed, Matt came through with the breadth and depth of his product offerings, materials, incomparable design aesthetic, and a can-do attitude when we needed it most. If you are looking for design ideas and considering window treatments, I hope you'll read this review. Do your due diligence, but you really need not look any further. There is a popular saying that you get what you pay for. For Barrows this is very true. You might pay a little more but they are professional through and through. The measuring was done quickly and ordering was done almost immediately. We had 4 installers arrive yesterday right on time and went to work. They were efficient and careful with our home. They did an amazing job with our 19 shutters! I highly recommend them. This is our 2nd successful job with Barrows!

They have done an outstanding job at every phase of the project: from helping us decide on the types of blinds and shades we need, to measuring, to ordering, and, finally, installations. Despite encountering manufacturing problems with some of the shades (that were entirely the responsibility of the manufacturer, not Barrows, and that were corrected immediately and without any hesitation), everything came together well at the end. Working with Barrows Custom window treatments has been a pleasure start to finish. In April of 2019 I called for an in-home consultation. I was well advised by the representative they sent. He measured and we decided on the most effective light control for my purposes. I appreciated being guided on this as I really had no idea what was available currently. I ordered exactly as he suggested. After the order was placed, I received a call that was well in advance of the installation allowing me ample time to plan my schedule. I have to admit that vendors who call me a day before a visit and expect me to be ready for them in a day or two leave me frustrated . It always ends up prolonging my deliveries well beyond the expected date. In this case it was more than enough time and I truly appreciate their respect for their clients schedules. The installers arrived with 10 minutes of the time frame promised and were finished installing the three rooms within half an hour. And these were large Hunter Douglas light blocking shades for sliding glass doors and large windows. All with motorized open and closing.Precision and care was key to their looks and functioning.These men were experts. The installers also took the time to make sure I knew how to operate all the shades and we went room to room. They also showed me how to access the battery pack when the time came for new ones. They were all three helpful and very pleasant with a lot of information that I knew I would have had to dig through a volume of printed material to access. They really simplified the operations and maintenance to me. I never felt like they were in a rush to leave but wanted to make sure I was satisfied, liked the shades, knew about how to operate them and repeated that if I had any questions or needed any assistance to call them. They took away any and all packing materials and made sure the rooms were exactly as they found them. My take away from working with Barrows is this: Go with the best. They have superior employees who have experience and know customer relations. Window treatments are a very large expense. Make sure you get what you pay for.

My Sister-in-law recently purchased a condo. This is a newly constructed unit with beautiful hardwood flooring, top of the line cabinetry, granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. We wanted to make sure we comply with management’s requirement to have white backing on the window treatments as well as enhance and compliment the newer features in the unit. The quality of the material and good workmanship were so important in our decision to go with Barrows Custom Window Treatments. Virginia and Nick were awesome in helping us wade through all the different materials, colors and styles of draperies as well as the selection of the hardware. Who knew there were so many patterns, colors and styles to choose from? We chose a ripplefold, neutral color draperies on ripplefold tracks. Portia, the scheduler at Barrows, was very accommodating since, we were given a very tight window to move and have everything in place. The installer Steve and Rob arrived ahead of schedule. They were very friendly, courteous, professional and meticulous. The first thing they did was put the drop-cloth on the floor to protect the hardwood flooring in the living room area and new carpet in the bedroom. They were diligent and meticulous hanging the draperies so that the ripples were perfect and steamed the draperies so that there were no creases. The draperies look fabulous. So glad we chose Barrows Custom Window Treatment, they were amazing. Thanks Virginia, Nick, Miriam, Porta, Steve and Rob. We love the draperies!

Happy Barrows customers. Matt Satter, a treat to work with, was most helpful with selection, and a precise measurer when he visited to prepare the installation. We got Hunter Douglas Duette Honeycomb shades in three segments for a large window. Ralph Turner is an expert installer, and a warm, friendly man, who also gave us good instructions for raising and lowering the shades, which can be raised and lowered from the bottom as well as from the top, so it's tricky at first. We were especially pleased that the shades were available for installation a week earlier than expected. Barrows was recommended by an architect friend who calls them the best in the area. My partner and I now agree.

Outstanding experience! Both of our bedroom's room darkening shades broke within a day of each other. This is problematic under normal circumstances, it was compounded for us because my husband is a frontline healthcare worker who has been working ever changing shifts; this necessitates his need to sleep during the day at times. Virginia arranged contact free drop off and pick up to repair our blinds. She also refused to let us pay. Her kindness was so greatly appreciated; she has helped my husband immensely. We have not yet been in our home a year and will be looking for new window treatments once we are on the other side of the pandemic. We will absolutely be returning to Barrows!

I do wish that we had been told that on the larger skylights there would be a string down the middle of the window to help support the shades. This is the 4th skylight installation we have had, and none of the previous shades needed the extra string.
