Love love them! I recommend them to a lot of people, even some that don't live in Queens. I have been taking my pets here for more than 15 years. I love how they do not judge if you can't afford everything and they take their time with suggestions for care. I recently took my 4 year cat IceCream to get a dental and everyone was very nice and understanding that I was on a budget due to it being an emergency dental procedure. I work at a nonprofit vet clinic and still choose to use Lefferts for their needs!

I have been coming to Lefferts for a few years now. All I can say is they are very professional, and give you outstanding service. They are very reasonable and clear about all fares, and they truly care about your pet. Sadly, we had one of our cats pass away last year. Lefferts made the process seamless and were so empathic. They helped us with everything during our very difficult time. All the doctors and staff here are so kind, honest and knowledgeable. I don’t trust any other facility with my cats. I love Lefferts Animal Hospital. Their facilities are maintained well and clean. The staff and physicians are very personable and welcoming. They are honest and explain the visits thoroughly. They have always guided me in the right direction, especially when it comes to procedures and medications. I have been bringing my dogs here for 16+ years now and will continue. I refer anyone that I know and meet, with fur babies to them. My favorite physician there is Dr. Halpern, he is highly knowledgeable.

I’ve always had a good experience with the vets here, their prices are reasonable and they all truly care so much and are affectionate and caring with the animals. I recently had my cat Yodel in for a very complicated dental surgery combined with a complicated spay and they still managed to stay close to the lower end of the estimate given. They’re very conscientious that people have budgets and bills and they never do anything unnecessary to get more cash out of you. Truly a great practice run by very kind hearted people who genuinely love animals.

Cant say enough good things about Lefferts Animal Hospital. We found them during the pandemic, and they were so accommodating, caring and considerate. We took our buddy there a few times before we finally had to let him go. He had severe anxiety and they still took care of him, comforted him as best as they could and made us feel comfortable with them. He is no longer with us but we will never forget the care Lefferts provided in our time of need! The last thing they did for us I'll never forget, we got a card in the mail, signed by the staff with copies of his paw prints, sending us their sympathies... It was the kindest thing ever. 100% definitely recommend Lefferts Animal Hospital.

I've been coming here for years (ever since my 1st cat in 2004) and EACH time it was amazing. From the front admins to the assistants and the doctors they are extremely professional, communicative and most of all, friendly which is difficult to see in Queens or NY in general. My cat, D-2, was sick for the 1st time today BUT I know I was in good hands after speaking to Dr. Halpern. Keep up the good work guys.

After going to animal ER in a panic for my 14-15 year old fur baby (NuNu) who had a vestibular disease ( "old dog disease" ) episode being charged over $600 for 10 minutes and hit with a estimate to proceed care that would have cost me over $4000 just to monitor her over night! I decided to wait and bring her to her vet/Animal hospital (Lefferts animal hospital). I felt hopeless because everyone else would not proceed unless I paid for a MRI (which would have cost me over $5000)... The doctors at Lefferts animal hospital immediately made me feel better and told me they would NOT recommend an MRI because the cost was excessive and pointless. She is 15 years old... if we did an MRI, and something appeared, would we do brain surgery? NO! so what would be the point. They checked her throughly... prescribed some meds and she was on her road to recovery immediately ❤️ She is still in recovery mode and has gotten so much better! I still have my fur baby with me! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I Cannot express my appreciation and gratitude enough! Thank you for being kind.. comforting... thorough and cost conscious! A++++

Very happy with my experiences at Lefferts Animal Hospital. Great doctors, kind nurses, kennel techs, and support staff. Never a wait, always quick to take my littles in for their appointments. Due to covid waiting area is closed, but they were kind to build an outdoor waiting area and shelter for patients and caretakers. My doctors were Mittal, Birchler, and Delshad. Only negative remarks are about reception and Dr. Mittal. A receptionist told me they are not taking emergencies and go by appointment only - not true (only issue there). About Mittal, she had poor bedside manner. Namely she poo-pooed my concern that my little Nene (cat) seemed exhausted after his exam. Nene was sickly, I knew that. But her response to me was "I'd be tired after a medical appointment too." She also suggested I wasn't feeding Nene properly, when he was actually dying and just not eating, as animals often do. I took Nene back the next day and he was euthanized under the kind care of Dr. Birchler. Turned out Nene had fluid in his lungs and was dying but somehow Mittal wasn't able to determine that. Since then I brought my very anxious foster (cat) in and Dr. Delshad and everyone was very kind and patient with our family. 4.5-stars due to (minor) reception issue and Mittal. Highly recommend, fairly priced, good doctors. I will return 💯

Good, Dependable Service I’ve been going to Lefferts Animal Hospital off and on since I moved to Kew Gardens in 2015. I have always found the service to be good and reliable, and the doctors thorough. My only complaint, early on, had been the long wait times, but they have improved 150% over the last few years, and that simply isn’t an issue anymore. They are also conveniently open most days of the week with appointments well into the evening, which is great for people Like me who work outside of the area. My most recent experience with LAH has guaranteed that I will be a long time customer. My Silky Terrier, BB, who had been with me for 16 years had to be euthanized. I was devastated. The doctor and room assistant who helped me were kind and understanding. When it was over they offered me ashes and clay imprints, but I just kept saying no, that all I wanted was my dog. A week later I came home from work and there was an envelope from LAH. Inside was a condolence card, and taped to the card was an imprint of my baby’s paw prints. I lost it. I was overwhelmed with grief and sadness all over again—but I was also blown away by the incredible act of kindness shown me by LAH. I did not even know I wanted the paw prints until I opened the envelope. That someone there had not only the forethought, but also the kindness, to realize that I might not have been in the right mindset to make a decision about memorializing some part of my baby, and then act on it—just, wow... I highly recommend LAH. Not just for the quality service, but also for the kindness of two people I had not met before that day.

Been coming here since my childhood pet was brought home in the 90s. Always honest, compassionate, and caring towards you and your pet. We just had to put our very old cat down, after 20 + years. And what a beautiful, heartfelt, and emotional experience it was. The staff were so supportive and they brought us into a special room with a beautiful painted window of clouds, fake flowers, art on the walls that really felt like more thought was given to such a hard experience. I have appreciated them through all of the years and all of the pets, but their ability to grow and become better Healthcare providers amazes me. Thank you so much to everyone, from the front desk, to the techs, to the Dr's. Tiger's last moments were surrounded by so much love and I can't thank you enough.

I’ve been going to Lefferts animal hospital since I got my first kitten; I was 14. That was over 25 years ago. Two cats and four dogs later......you guessed it. I LOVE Lefferts. I LOVE the doctors. I LOVE the staff. They’ve been there through hard decisions, triumphs after surgeries and sicknesses as it relates to our furry children. Although I live in Colorado now whenever I’m in NY I stop in so they can have a well check. Thank you for, as recently as last week, bringing our little Romeo back to good health. I was very lucky to have found this place. The vet that looked after my Charlie was incredibly kind and patient. Unfortunately I had to put my sweet boy down last Saturday morning, but the staff was nothing short of compassionate and gave me a lot of time with him. I would like to thank everyone who looked after my cat while he was under their care; but most specially to the wonderful Dr. Mistry who was amazing and so warm. I will be forever grateful for your comforting words and your support during such a difficult time. You are the best. I will bring my little girl for a check up soon. Nice staff BUTTTT their pricing is ridiculous. I went for a first visit with my two cats. I paid for their office visit, stool sample test and shots. Paid roughly around $300. The vet was nice and knowledgeable, she told me I would have to return within 3 or 4 weeks for their booster so I said ok and made an appt. I asked the girl how much I needed to pay for their boosters , I'm thinking about another 60 bucks. The young lady quoted me over $200. Are you kidding me GTFOH. I asked why so much , she tells me I have to pay for an office visit again for the Vet to check them again. For WHAT!? Nothing has changed in two weeks all she needed to do is inject our booster and send us on our way. Straight Highway robbery!! I thought about it and decided to go somewhere else and cancelled the appt. right away! Avoid this establishment and their highway robbery prices. It's such a shame because I used to bring all my animals here. After this they have lost my buisness. Damn near $600 bucks in 3 weeks for shots. Yeah Right!

We have been going to Lefferts for 9 years with our 2 dogs. All the staff are efficient, knowledgeable, caring and kind to both my husband and myself and our dogs. We use Dr. Valdez who answers all our questions thoroughly and never rushes us. Recently our dog needed to have a tooth pulled and a full dental cleaning and Dr. Birchter was wonderful. The owner, Dr. Halpern, is very concerned that he provides great service. We would never go anywhere else. You can be confident that your pet will receive excellent care.

My Netherland Dwarf bunny had been having watery stool for about a week and a half. Yesterday I tried calling a few veterinarian clinics to see if I could bring him in, but no luck. After being referred to Lefferts Animal Hospital, the receptionist stated that they could see me that same day! The only downside is that parking is HORRIBLE around this area but that’s not their fault. The people in the waiting room were friendly! And they made the time pass by quickly! Plus, I came in at 6:20 pm and was out of there by 7:20 pm! The receptionist was super friendly as well as Dr. Valdez! I love how he handled my bunny! After prescribing him antibiotics, he seems to be doing so much better after one day of use! 10/10 would definitely recommend!

Dr. Mittal has been seeing my dog since he was a puppy. He is 6 y/o now and we still go to see Dr. Mittal who does an excellent job. I have no complaints against the care my dog has received over the years but Lefferts Animal Hospital itself definitely needs to be more respective of people's time and do a better job of time management. For example, if my dog won't be seen until between 1 pm to 3 pm, please don't ask me to bring him at 8.45 am which is (1) early (2) causes an inconvenience on weekdays because of meetings (3) my dog has to be in a cage for longer than he needs to. The waiting time is always at least more than an hour so I'm not sure what the point of having an appointment is. If it's going to be an hour late, please give people an appointment time an hour later. Not everyone can go and sit there for so long.

I’ve had two appointments for my cats, one an annual and the other a teeth cleaning. Both experiences were great and reasonably priced. My cats were well cared for and the staff are very kind and made us feel comfortable. They were very thorough in explaining how the teeth cleaning procedure would happen and with the post-op instructions as well.

This is the best vet office I have ever gone too. The entire staff is caring and kind. I knew that they truly cared about my baby from the second he was handed over to them. They gave him medications to help him, explained how the medications should be given and called the next day to check on him which was so sweet. He is doing FANTASTIC! I’m so happy with his care! Lefferts Animal Hospital has been caring for two of my dogs for the past 12+ years. I always felt they were giving me a fair price for services and helpful advice for their care. However in terms of compassion I still feel there's a lot to desire. One of my dogs recently passed away unexpectedly. We were told we have maybe 2-6 months with her, and she passed away 3 weeks after her last series of expensive tests... I called the same day to let them know she has passed. More than a week later I still have not received any phone call from them or anything else with condolences or just to say that they are sorry.I feel that after being their client for 12+ years with both dogs and investing lots of money there on numerous tests and appointments and medications (the dog that passed had a heart condition) that's the least they could do. Additionally they deleted her account as if she didn't exist without consulting it with me. For someone who's losing a furry friend of 12+ years that's hurtful. I'm not sure I wanna continue being their client. It doesn't take much to send a card or call.

If your pet needs treatment, they'll talk you through all the options. Getting an appointment on short notice is never a problem, and the evening and weekend hours are great.

My Presa Canaria Dog wasn't feeling well last few days and started having some "symptoms' (of perhaps an infection). I called around to a few vets and (happily) accidentally stumpled upon Lefferts Animal Hospital. Fate at its best;♡ They took us right away. The receptionist is a total sweetheart, the Assistants are so well trained, kind and above all amazing with the animals. I loved everything about this place even before the Doctor came in. Just when I thought i couldn't love it more, the Dr blew me away. He was THE most kind hearted, caring Vet ever!!!! He checked my dog outside, inside, upside-down side ;-) left no part out. He was so through and in tune to what might be causing everything. A brilliant Dr with such a beautiful soul. I am so thrilled I found this amazing Gem. The prices you can't beat either. Better than anywhere I've seen in NY. "Highly recommend" is an understatement. If my Dog could write a review she certainly would too. I just took my malamute here for an emergency visit after my cat decided to use her as a punching bag last night. Her eye had me super worried because it was swollen, red, and twitchy. After calling about 11 different vet offices none of them would take me in as an emergency and I almost panicked, but this one did. At first I hesitated because of the higher check in fee, but after calling so many vets and not being able to have my pet seen, the higher fee wasnt a problem anymore. After treatment and everything, what I was charged was much less than what I imagined it to be and I was so glad. They are reasonably affordable and are very friendly. My dogs eye was doing instantly better after coming out of the office, and you can tell she was much happier after being treated. Thank you Lefferts vet!

I'm not one to rate businesses or leave reviews, but I feel I should in light of my reluctance to call Lefferts this morning. I really wanted to like this place, as most reviews are very positive; it's why I chose Lefferts in the first place. However, my past visits entailed extreme wait times–like an hour for a 5 to 10-minute task–lack of good communication, and a major charge mishap. On top of that, the location overloads your senses with noise from the car repair shop next door and train tracks above, making it hard to listen to employees and doctors over the phone. I recognize this wouldn't be an issue if clients were allowed inside, and I would presume being understaffed is another unfortunate result of covid times... Still, these things do have an impact on overall experience. All the people I interacted with at Lefferts were kind, patient, and welcoming, and the doctors seemed knowledgeable. I really, really wanted to like this place and possibly give it a third go, but my partner doesn't think it would be worth it to visit again. Now our pets haven't been eating, and I wish I had the confidence to call and get advice given we have history with them, but it's just not there.

I was refer to this place by Animal Care Centers after my wife dog became sick. The vets here is very understanding and compassionate about what they do. I been to other vets before and all they want is money. Lefferts saved my dog, along with help from A C C. me and my wife have been taking our other pets here for about a year now and We travel all the way from Bronx to come here. Everyone is extremely professional and nice. The receptionists are very understanding and helpful. i recommend everyone to go here!!! Dr. Yang, Andrea and their staff were SO helpful in a very difficult circumstance. I was not a client of theirs and they knew I would not be a future client as I am emigrating to the UK. My paperwork was not correct and, as a result I had to get a heartworm vaccination done within the time frame required. I had traveled from Kentucky and needed a local vet to take care of this. They were accommodating, helpful and knowledgeable in helping me take care of my precious golden retriever. They took care of me on short notice and followed up after the appointment with additional documentation. I would highly recommend this veterinarian to all.

Our vet was not open on Memorial Day. My puppy was sick and a friend recommended Lefferts Animal Hospital. It is very small and nothing luxurious but the care my dog received was fabulous. The attendants were very caring and the doctor was very knowledgeable and caring. Once my puppy has all of her sets of shots I am changing vets even though it is a distance from our home.

I have been bringing my pets to Lefferts Animal Hospital since 1995, when I got my first personal pet as a teen, however my family has been bringing the 'family pets' there since the late 80s early 90s. Love this place and the staff. Quality care and compassionate and knowledgeable vets and techs. I would never bring any of my fur babies anywhere else. And so far, they haven't asked me never to bring my...."boisterous" cat back. They always treat him kindly and with respect, even if doesn't reciprocate.

Dr. Mital is openly friendly with owners, gentle with pets, and very good at her job. She diagnoses and treats my pets efficiently (only relevant testing done for diagnoses, pet's comfort/distress/tolerance level is considered in office, a broad array of possible causes are considered, and she doesn't assume a diagnosis). The place is clean, and the care bills are the fairest prices I've found in Queens. The vet is clear about which medications are absolutely necessary and which are supplemental/optional care. She is also clear about which testing is basically necessary for immediate treatment, and which is optional for further or more specific diagnoses. The print-out bills are clear and concise, so you see where your money is going and you don't spend money where you don't want to. This vet seems to grasp that fair and budget-friendly pricing leads to more frequent patient visits, and healthier pets. This hospital cares about the health of your animal, it's evident from the fun paw-print ceiling and cheery yellow storefront to the friendly and attentive staff. I feel very secure bringing my pets here for all of their medical needs. I have brought to this vet: one senior large-breed mix dog, one puppy small-breed mix dog, and two cats. I have also boarded here and I was pleased with the treatment of my animals. I've also seen birds in the waiting room, including a Macaw.

I have been using Lefferts Animal Hospital for the primary care of my three pups Rosie, Toby, and Sophia. I have had my three pups all vaccinated spayed and neutered there as well. Due to the great care that they consistently provided us with, it was an easy desicion to have them board my pups. As much as I missed them, I knew they were in good hands. Sure enough when I returned from my two week trip my pups were in great shape. The staff all took a turn to say good-bye which in turn proved to me that they all really care for the pets entrusted to them. I highly recommend this hospital to any pet owner that wants the very best.

My cat received good care at Lefferts. The staff and vet were very thorough and they even called to see how my pet was doing later in the day. The waiting room, however, is very small and there is no parking. I find that to be a big inconvenience, especially in the cold weather. My cat and I were very stressed with all the dogs barking and the sitting practically on top of each other while we waited. I almost left several times.

My husband and I have been taking our pet rats here for a few months. One has a benign tumor, which the doctor advised not to do anything with since she was going about her daily activities fine (rats have short lifespans for these exact reasons to begin with). Another rat was sick with a respiratory infection. She got an x-ray to rule out a tumor and was prescribed anti-inflammation and antibiotics; she got better in a few days. Dr. Halpern called a few days after the visit to follow up on the rat with the respiratory infection. This place is efficient, professional, honest, and specializes in exotic animals (pet rats are classified as such). They have a pharmacy on site, which is nice that you can get most meds directly from them. Most importantly, they care about your pets.

Lefferts was recommended to me by two close friends who bring their dogs here and I am so glad they did. I have not had one bad experience here. Everyone is so kind and patient. I actually do not live that close to here and have other animal hospitals that are closer to me but I really love this place. If you ask for a call back they actually call you back and if they miss you they will try again. They are always so sweet to my Dino. When I had an emergency I called on my way over and were ready for us. Great doctors and staff !

I want to first start by saying I have 3 small dogs and they have always gone to Lefferts as far back as 10 years ago. All 3 have had some major issue along the years and almost all the vets and staff have helped us tremendously. Now have there been times I felt overcharged? yes. Have there been times I didn't like the answers I was getting? yes. have there been times I felt more could have been done? Yes....but isn't that human nature to criticize after the fact and to be hypersensitive about our pets? Knock on wood, my dogs are in good spirits and in good health for seniors. I have seen the dedication on some of the vets at Lefferts. The sincerity and concern in making sure not only that our dogs were treated humanely and to a high standard but they also made sure we left feeling less panicked and stressed. Shots cost money. Grooming costs money. Yearly exams cost money... but isn't that all the consideration you should consider before you get a pet. And I know there are a lot of complaints about the wait time. I have been there myself when, even with an appointment, I have waited 2+ hours. I have also waited in my own Dr's office for hours to get my own exams, but it still wouldn't stop me from seeing him if i thought he cared and took good care of me. The same holds true for the Dr's and staff at Lefferts. I would highly recommend them and wouldn't think twice about another Vet

I LOVE Lefferts animal hospital. I have been going to them for over 20 years. Dr. Valdez is truly amazing. He knows every detail about my dog. No matter how busy they are, he never makes you feel rushed and answers all your questions. Kathy (at reception) is always so accommodating to my bulldogs needs. She calls and follows up personally. Andrea the manager had done an AMAZING job with the practice. Yes- Lefferts is very busy. But you can understand why, when the doctors are so at tentative to your dogs needs.

I cannot say enough good about this practice. Besides what I feel are reasonable prices, the time and care my pets receive is phenomenal to me. I have been taking my pets to Lefferts Animal Hospital for several years now. It is the only place I will take my pets to. I have two veterinarians just a few blocks from where I live, but I rather travel the miles to take my pets here. I have also referred several people including, of course, my family. My family lives in Manhattan and they will only have their pets seen by Lefferts Animal Hospital as well.

Amazing Took my pug Popeye to get his annual vaccines. After moving to Long Island this was my first time back in two years. The service and care from the doctors and the nurses were amazing. Very respectful and once the doctor came in to see my pug I was amazed that she took her time and didn't rush the appointment to move onto the next pet. She stayed there and answered all my questions and told me how to care for my pug. After returning home from the appointment I noticed that my pug was having an allergic reaction, possibly due to the vaccines. I immediately called the office and was worried because it was close to closing time, however the assistant and the doctor allowed me to come with my pug and waited for me. Once I got there they immediately took him in and assesed him and gave him treatment. They didn't charge me for the visit but I paid for the steriod's and other medication they gave him. Over all this is a great location to come to. Will be returning here for my Pug's medical needs. The prices are also very reasonable. Highly recommend.

I took my cat Taylor there today, because of a very serious issue & I was very concerned. Dr. Garden was amazing, she was kind, caring, empathic and extremely thorough. She explained the X-ray, step by step was she could do for Taylor today& next steps. My Cat has serious dental issues & is in need of a full dental work up. Unfortunately, the hospital is booked up next week. It is my prayer that there is an opening next week for Taylor. Because of the comfort level established with Dr. Garden I would like for her to administer future care. When you are emotionally drained & upset it's important to have a Doctor like Dr. Garden. I left feeling so much better& Taylor was relaxed. I know my cat is older & all of the results are not in, but with the care that she received today we both feel better. I have been going to this clinic for many years. They're always pleasant and helpful. However, on Saturday I had a bad experience with one of the assistant. Her name was Amber. She was really rude and had an attitude throughout the whole time the Doctor was speaking with us. Almost like she didn't want to be there. Her gestures and face expressions set off the tone like she was having a bad day. She was so upset that she even dropped the vial of the injection and then was huffing and puffing. When the Doctor suggested to change the needles to a smaller size, she grabbed them and replaced them with such anger. I would not let one particular individual stop me from coming here but she definitely needs to be reprimanded. I would still definitely recommend this facility because everyone else was excellent as always.

I can't believe I found a place that is nice and offers very reasonable care for my cat in conjunction to cost of medical services. He was cared for very well and results were received quickly. All options were presented and I felt my cat was treated very well. I also use a cat daycare place near by that notes they have a very positive relationship with the hospital and in a pinch are able with your permission to obtain care information for your animal why you're away.

As a clinic I have absolutely no complaints, most of the vets are excellent and always take good care of my dogs BUT the receptionists are always RUDE! I’ve been there countless times and I haven’t had a good experience with them never! I just called to ask a question about my dogs shots and once again one of them talked to me like I was annoying the life out of her, this is ridiculous!

I recently brought a French bulldog puppy into my home, and it was the best decision i ever made. I was recommended to use Lefferts Animal Hospital, and let me say the drive from Westchester is well worth the caring and informative staff at Lefferts. Their staff made the transition so much easier for me and assured me that he was healthy and up to date on all preventative medication and vaccines at a very reasonable price. i have taken two of my three dogs. The waiting area is not big but i didn't have to wait long each time I have gone. They are very caring and my little dogs are part of our family. They were provided with great care and everyone that i spoke to in the waiting area each time i've been there have had nothing but good things to say. Now I have to make an appointment for my third dog. I wouldn't take my little dogs anywhere they weren't treated properly. Quality care is so important and hard to find.

I called to make An appointment 1230 pm. They had no availability today (Saturday) so I made an appointment for Wednesday night. I adopted a four month-old kitten one week ago who is sneezing. I called back to change my appointment for an earlier date like Monday and time but no one picked up and I had to leave a voicemail. An hour and a half after leaving a voicemail saying I wanted to change my appointment I still didn’t get a call back. I called again 2 PM and was put on hold for 10 minutes. I hung up. I love the doctors at Lefferts. Each of them gives you time, attention, honesty, and great medical care. I usually have ridiculous overprotective concerns and they listen to me and help explain things out so I understand and don't worry. They have also been extremely helpful over the phone if needed. Everyone who works there is always very pleasant. The wait can be bad on the weekends, but on the weekdays I barely wait at all. Their pricing is also very fair (for whatever that means when it comes to veterinary care.) I have been to at least 6 vets because I have moved a lot and none compare to Lefferts.

Love them! Not only are they super close to where I live but the staff is amazing! I have a crazy cat that's super hard to handle but they take her craziness with stride and loving care. The pricing is fair and they accept emergencies and usually I can make same day appointments. The waiting room is the only downside since its pretty tiny for the amount of people and furbabies that show up. Overall, I've never had a negative experience with them and ive been going here for more than four years and will continue to.

I was extremely pleased with my 12-year old dog's new vet. The staff was friendly and knowledgable. The location was convenient for parking (during the mid-day) and clean. Although a small facility, it was a welcoming experience. Most importantly, they had the knowledge to deal with Sammy and all of his medical needs from the complex (lupoid onchodystrophy) to the mundane (arthritis). They also understood that as a rescue, he has psycho-emotional baggage that require some special handling. Lastly, their prices were reasonable and they gave me options for regular testing and medications in order to keep the costs down. I will definitely go back. My little puppy Babe Too has had excellent care from Dr. Garden and the staff treats her like one of their own every time she comes in. She is very happy to go to the vet. I always have concerns about Babe Too and they are very patient with me and answer every question no matter how silly. I also had a cat named Simba and they were so wonderful to me about him. He had cancer and the doctor operated and called me while Simba was on the table and carefully told me there was so much cancer that it would be futile to continue. Gently the doctor told me it would be kinder to let him go, and I told him not to wake Simba from the surgery. They gave me his pawprint and a beautiful keepsake, I will never forget the kindness I was shown. I will never use anyone else for my pets as this place was heaven to my pets. Babe Too goes every month and she loves to see everyone there as do they to her. I would recommend Lefferts to anyone who needs veterinary care as I trust them implicitly.

So I stopped by here with my son to see if they by chance would have an Adoption service or atleast a link to one. The receptionist was polite but cold. Not rude but not exactly friendly either. Also I'm sure business is already good but a little forward or backward integration can't hurt any business. What I'm getting at is add on services. If you are affiliated with a shelter or adoption agency, that would definitely bring more business for the hospital. Sorry I'm a business major so I'm always thinking of ways to improve business. Just thought I'd put that out there. Also being coldy polite won't grab new or potential customers. My mom was with us and she was really turned off.

I've been taking to my yorkies there for 2 years and I must say these are the finest doctors I have had the pleasure of working with. They are attentive, caring and understanding. They have always listened to me and advised accordingly. I used to visit another vet closer to home in BK until he diagnosed one of my dogs with cancer without even conducting any tests / lab work. That's when I found Lefferts and learned, through lab work, that my dog did not have cancer. Reception is great, the doctors follow up asking how my dogs are after treatment. They also provide you with options, a conservative and an aggressive approach. My yorkies have been treated by Drs. Halpern, Mistry, Acevedo and Patel, all have been great.

I brought my red-eared sliders here a few years ago. They were having difficulty breathing and I knew I needed help from a vet immediately. Lefferts Animal Hospital told me upfront that their doctor was not a licensed HERP veterinarian, but if I was unable to wait for a licensed HERP facility to open (which would have been the beginning of the next work week since I was calling on a weekend) the doctor would take a look at them that very day. Thankfully, he was confident in his diagnose and was able to treat them accordingly. I was very grateful for their immediate response, availability, and openness. My beagle Annie had bladder stones, which required immediate surgery. Dr. Valdes showed me the X-rays, explained the problem and was gently insistent on how urgent it was. Surgery went well but Annie needed to go back for common post-op problems. I saw different doctors each time I went, and they were all amazing; and never rushed us while we were asking questions. It took a month of different meds and visits to Lefferts, but Annie is doing great and yesterday we took our first walk through Forest park in over a month. Having Dr Payal Mittal, as her doctor for regular check ups and boarding, even with the tough times she always got back to us. She always was there ready & able to advise us and just be there. Shes more than just a doctor. The time has come for oreo and we knew it was time cuz she told us what to look out for and that we would know. When we came to say good bye and prepare to let oreo go in peace Dr Mittal was compassionate, and so caring, didnt rush us and step by step she helped us durning this time to do what we felt was comfortable for us. Cant say right now but if i ever get another pet, i will continue to have Dr Mittal as our doctor. Kathy & Lisa too were very kind too. Thank you, for making this easy for us and for everything.

Dr. Mistry rushed her to the back asap to help save her life. she did all she can do but Sam was too ill and so she passed away on the 4th of April 2019. I have 3 dogs, Mayme, Makeda and Maxamillion and everybody here treats them as family. The staff, from receptionist to vets are doing the job because they love it and it shows. Max is my youngest but he's been here the most, from 2 weeks until today 4 months and 2 lbs they have been by my side every step of the way. on March 1st I watched Liz deal with a pushy, obnoxious client. She walked in at 7:30 to pick up her cat. Liz had another person at the window and she acted like the man wasn't there; "catlady" wanted her sons dog to get shots, she didn't have an appointment, the dog had never been there before and she didn't want to pay for a visit. Then she TOLD Liz not to take any one else until her son came back to pay because he was outside holding the dog..the nerve of some people. I was so impressed with Liz, she kept smiling and telling the lady just give me one second, once I'm finish with him I'll be right with you. Liz repeated the same thing like 4 or 5 times where I started to think to myself what the heck is wrong with this woman..lol. All the staff at Lefferts Animal Hospital are super friendly and VERY professional. If you leave a message they return your call AND none of your questions are met with annoyance. I LOVE THIS PLACE, I'll deal with no parking and a small lobby because they truely care...

I've been using Lefferts for 24 years. They're the family's vet (4 dogs), and many of my friends' too (cats & dogs). They cared for my maltese for 16 years (16 wonderful HEALTHY years, thanks to them), and take care of my mini doxie Maizie now. They have a wonderful team of Drs with broad medical and surgical experience, high tech facilities and great comunication skills (SO important). When a super-specialist consult is needed, they connect you with great people. When friends in fancy Manhattan wanted laser surgery for their dog (less pain and faster recovery) they traveled to Queens for surgery at Lefferts. There's no better place. I just wish they took human patients!
