For Dr. Tsung million thanks for the surgery, for the humanity, for the emergency, for the first phone call at the morning ,for the postcard! We was looking a special surgeon who able to do the surgery asap on my baby. A neighbor recommended the clinic and Dr. Tsung for our 13-year-old Airedale, who was starting to fail. So we transferred her records from an Upstate vet near our daughter. We're so glad we did. We had to say goodbye to Millie this morning and the receptionist worked us in on short notice. Three people were with us in the examination room and all were wonderful -- explaining the situation with clarity and compassion. I feel confident you would get an excellent well-pet visit from this team.

They were very good to my cat. Told me Daisy was well behaved. They took a small sample of a tumour and called me within hours to tell me it is comprised of fat cells only. As long as she's not chewing at it, there's no reason to remove it, just yet.

They saved my cat’s life. I have been going to Inwood Animal Clinic since 2020 and have had a great experience. This past week, my cat was lethargic and they were able to fit him in for a same day appointment and quickly realized he was very ill. They also offered to hospitalize him at the clinic for the day - and they literally saved him. We are so grateful for their care - special shout out to Dr. Tsung who was very hands on with his care. I don’t trust anyone else with my babies.

Been going to IAC since moving into WH in 2013 and never any issues. Fortunately, my previous pup and current adopted pup never had any issues going vet. VA was super diligent and noticed a discrepancy on vax papers from the shelter (3yr v 1yr) and quickly called shelter and had it sorted.

August 2022–Our rescue Sweetpea made her debut at Inwood Animal Clinic today! My wife and I moved to the far north Bronx three years ago, but we are happy to keep coming back because of the great veterinarians and techs. === My first two visits to Inwood Animal Clinic were on an emergency basis, first to have a sick elderly cat evaluated and then to euthanize her. Drs. Fried and Tsung were very compassionate and clear, and they made a very sad goodbye bearable. A couple of weeks later, I adopted two new cats, adult males, and brought them in for a "well-cat" visit. Dr. Shimel was encouraging and charming, and took his time with both kitties. I am very pleased to have become a client. (My cats aren't pleased about trips in the carrier, but I will assume they are pleased as well ;) )

I brought my miniature Dachshund puppy (Chance) to get his vaccinations and check up. The staff here are VERY professional, welcoming, and patiently explained ANYTHING I needed clarification. The waiting time to be seen AFTER I arrived for my scheduled appointment was not long. Both Veterinarians that Chance saw were great. I felt as if the staff members I encountered REALLY understand how much People, such as myself, love our 4 legged family members. HOWEVER, it is due to this that the prices they charge are sometimes ridiculously high. For instance, if you attempt to do a same day cancelation; regardless if you call 4 hours ahead of your scheduled appointment, they will charge you a $30 same day cancelation fee. Also, they charge $75 just to bathe your dog, which is significantly more than other places and it isn't like they're bathing your pooch in scented oils. The pricing for "some" services, especially their $30 same day cancelation fee, makes you feel like you're being taken advantage of because they know that pet owners will pay because of the love you have for your pet.

This is my first and only vet so far so my review is limited to my experience. However, we are very happy with the service. We have a puppy of 3.5 months now and so far we found them always very kind and professional. Even if it is very busy, we never waited more than 10-15 min before seeing the doctor and we usually arrive before the appointment time. The vet (Dr Kevin Shimel) is very nice, answers always all my questions (I'm an anxious pawrent) and recognizes her every time, so we don't feel like numbers. The other personnel is always kind and they even taught me how to clip her nails (and clipped them for free). After every visit, that day and the day after they call me to make sure the puppy is ok. They created an account for our puppy on the PetDesk app, where we receive appointment reminders, we can check her medical history and schedule new appointments. Simple but very practical. About the prices, every visit is $51 baseline, plus the add ons for specific treatments. So far for my puppy, $35 every different shot (often a couple each time), $36 fecal analysis and different prices for other drugs. The prices of the drugs, like NexGard and Interceptor Plus, are some cheaper than on the internet, sometimes more expensive, so I suggest checking the prices before going to pay. The place is under renovation so I expect soon it will be much more spacious.

Inwood Animal Clinic was the most recommended veterinarian among the neighborhood dog park community, and they (and Dr. Carrie Mann) didn't disappoint. Everyone clearly loves animals, and they took time to get to know me and Indy and answer all of my questions about middle aged dog healthcare. Prices are comparable to my old veterinarian in Brooklyn, which is to say, much more expensive than the rural vets that we went to when we lived in Iowa and Virginia, but certainly competitive for NYC. I also appreciated that they gave me estimates of how much things would cost, and gave honest feedback about what tests were really necessary vs. what we could just wait and see about. The waiting area is a little small and can get crowded (and complicated if your dog isn't cat friendly or great with all dogs), but that was my only minor issue. The facility was clean and seemed well managed.

Marco the technician is Extremely Bright & Kind....I'm glad I took PETRA, right away as she was feeling lethargic and had diarrhea with blood...Plus, She needs to lose 7 pounds... Don't we all😃 Dr. Shimel took blood, asked alot of great questions, I asked him alot of questions and we are now changing PETRA to a Hi Grade USDA ORGANIC DRY FOOD. I was always against just Dry but being that she has a sensitive GI, Then we will try it for 3 months🤩

The people who work here are so caring and wonderful. It has helped my anxiety with my elder cats health so much to have a vet where everyone goes above and beyond to care for our precious animal companions. I loveee Inwood Animal Clinic. I used to go to a vet in the Bronx that wouldn’t let me enter the room with my pet and would rush me out but total opposite with Inwood. Reception are so nice I’ve called just for simple questions and they have always answered me. The vet techs and vets are not judgmental at all and always ask me for permission to proceed with things like extra test and always let me know the cost before going forward. Makes me feel good knowing they’re not just in it for the money. They’re super honest and helpful would never go to another place besides here.

UPDATE: We’ve since gotten a puppy and we of course started our care here. Why wouldn’t we? The care we received with our kitten was second to none. And the care with our puppy is already world class. My kitten was not a patient at this clinic, but when our usual vet was unable to see us, I called Inwood Animal Clinic on a Saturday and they made an appointment for us. We saw Dr. Schimel and he was spectacular - very straight forward and to the point but definitely has a wonderful bedside manner. Our kitten was quite ill and Dr. Schimel made it clear what tests were needed and what the best path forward would be. We received several calls in the coming week from the office regarding lab test results. While we eventually had to put our kitten to sleep, Dr Schimel and the entire staff was wonderful, caring, compassionate, and understanding. They made a very terrible process much easier (and affordable). I cannot recommend these fine folks highly enough. They are truly amazing.

Dr. Shimel and Kim were amazing. It's always difficult for the pet (cat-) owner to hand-over one's beloved pets but I was impressed by the examination and diagnostic skills. Of course, for indoor-cats it is especially stressful to leave their environment and the waiting area was packed with dogs, many of them for grooming, which added an enormous amount of stress to my cats' experience.

Efficient, competent and compassionate service. I have trusted Inwood Animal Clinic 100% for 10+ years. Dr Tsung and team have cared for all four of my Seeing Eye Dogs in training, which is a particularly significant level of trust as it costs about $50,000 to breed, raise and train each one, so only the very best vet care will do! Related to this, I always appreciate the careful and humane handling of each puppy, as positive clinical experiences are critical to their development as service animals. And, just as importantly, I have relied on Inwood Animal Clinic to care for my pet dog (also invaluable!), and two elderly cats, for everything ranging from routine check ups to cancer treatment and hospice care. I also appreciate that Dr. Tsung and team have never tried to 'upsell' me products and services, and are non-judgmental of which treatments I can realistically afford. Highly recommend!

I thought I would try out Inwood Animal Clinic for my dog’s annual check-up as it’s closer to my home, but I left completely unimpressed. The vet who attended us was a polite Asian lady. She examined my dog and didn’t say a word to me. My dog has a cloudy eye due to her old age and she didn’t bother saying one word to me about it lol. I asked her if it’s a cataract and if I should be worried about it. The whole experience felt rushed and lacked much enthusiasm/ bedside manner.

I took my pet there and they were super patient with her. She was hissing and not being very friendly. Everything went well until I got my medicine. I got home and one of them was open and spilled in the bag, so I went back. I told them my side and the tech said he closed the bottle, but would fill it again. Then they charged me $90 for that. Everything was going so well and I was thinking to switch all my pets to them until this happened. I feel ripped off and they knew I needed this medicine for my furry one, so I coerced to pay it. I can't believe this happened when all the reviews were so good. I don't know if the people changed or what, but this isn't a place I want to take any of my pets to ever again no matter the emergency. *** UPDATE 9/25/2021 *** After talking with someone else at the clinic, they agreed that I should not have been charged for the replacement medicine. I am extremely relieved this was resolved. I truly found their services very good and I can't for the life of me explained what happened to make that bottle open up. Because this was resolved, I changed my rating from a 1 to a 4.

I love coming to this Vet clinic. The staff here are very friendly and very knowledgeable. Waiting time is reasonable and most of the time they're on time. Dr.Mann and her nurse are very sweet. I had a great experience taking my sick cat there for the first time. They took there time explaining my options as well as what was going on with my cat. I did have to wait a bit but that is most places and when it was my turn I wasn’t rushed. My cat can be very aggressive but they tended to her very nurturing and were sweet with her. I had a question about the medication when I got home and called them, the young lady said she would check with the tech and get back to me and she did rather quickly. I got a follow up call the next day to see how she was feeling. The staff also did their best to have everyone social distancing with their pets.

We love Inwood Animal Clinic and always feel welcome. I can tell the employees - everyone from the vets, vet techs, and front desk staff - truly care about the patients and I feel very comfortable putting Lizzie’s health in the team’s hands. I am truly appreciate all of the COVID protocols in place as I am immuno-compromised. Not many businesses feel safe for me to enter anymore as many people don’t care about enforcing COVID protocols anymore. It means a lot to me that Inwood Animal Clinic is still taking this pandemic seriously and providing an environment I can feel safe in. The staff is always helpful in answering my questions and I can tell Lizzie feels comfortable in their care. The location is conveniently right by the Bx7 bus making for an easy trip to and from. It’s also so easy to make an appointment online, track Lizzie’s appointments and vaccine reminders in the app they use, and I love that I have her vaccination records available in the app as well.

Hands down the best veterinary office I have ever taken my dog child to. I sincerely wish I had known about them years ago. I've been to two other veterinary offices in the last few years, and none of them have shown the care, compassion, and professionalism that this office has demonstrated. The staff here is very professional and humane. Doctors have plenty of experience, are knowledgeable, and more importantly, they care about pets. I have been taking my dog here for months (including one serious incident) and they have always done greatly for her. They often go for a less invasive, safer option and look out for your pets health instead of trying to eke out the most money out of you like in other establishments. They rest of staff are super polite and good spirited and you can tell they work a lot! Most recommended.

I’m a new dog owner and this was our first vet visit. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! I made an appointment and the wait time was very short, facility was clean, and safety measures in place. Everyone was so kind and treated my dog with care. Dr. Shimel was excellent, he recommended all sorts of products for my dog (so helpful for a new dog owner) and followed up after my appointment quickly with extra care tips.

I have 3 cats that have been coming here for almost a year. On my last visit, I brought two of my cats in. One needed vaccines and the other needed blood tests. The doctor also prescribed my cat medicine for his giardia that I specifically said wasn't working because I've been treating him with it for 8 months. I said f-it I'll try again since I already paid for the medicine. The care is good, the staff is very nice, and the doctors are pleasant to work with and know what they're talking about. The staff is always prompt with providing me with my cats documentation, which I appreciate. I would continue to bring my cats here. I'm dropping two stars for two reasons. First is because I've noticed that dogs aren't always on a leash even though they "require" it, they don't enforce it. The last time I was there, there was a dog without a leash who almost attacked another dog who was on a leash. Said dog also tried to come sniff my cats and I had to tell the owner to keep the dog away as my cats have never seen a dog and I didn't want them to freak out even more than they were. The second is because the prices are outrageous and aren't transparent. $87 for an FIV and FeLV test, $41 for distemper, $40 for rabies, and $69 for an office exam (which is charged each time you bring a pet in). Some time ago I asked about getting my cats neutered and they said it would cost between $500 and $700. I asked why they couldn't give me a straight price and they said "because it depends on my cat". So I decided to shop around and went to a clinic in Jersey that was $140 per male cat and $200 per female cat including microchipping, and they cut their nails as a courtesy. The experience at that clinic was seamless and professional, and the prices were transparent. They also charged $20 for rabies and distemper. Don't let this place fool you into thinking paying $700 for your cat to get neutered/spayed is the norm. Updating to say: I went to Helping Paw in Long Island to neuter my last cat, and the prices were similar to the clinic in Jersey. I now live in Colorado where a neuter at my new vet costs $90 straight.

I came afraid because of my last experience in another place. As I walk in I felt at ease. This wasn’t my first time there but I went and try another place. I should of stay here. My dog felt different and he was playful with other dogs. People there are very welcome and nice with the human as well as the animals. My experience with the vets and their assistants has been great. They are attentive, knowledgeable, take interest in the pet. But I am not that happy with the front desk staff, they seem negligent, lack focus, unable to handle the high volume of clientele which leads to many mistakes and waste of time. They should be trained to provide as good a service as the rest of the staff. The reception is the first contact with your customers and it reflects highly on the business, and the mood in the clinic.

I love the vets at Inwood—they are truly conscientious. And the staff is friendly. But the vibe of the waiting area is a nightmare. There are SO many people coming and going for pet grooming—lots of dogs jumping around, etc. (And I love dogs.) If you're coming in with a sick and/or already stressed-out pet, this atmosphere is just unacceptable, especially because it's a busy place and there's always a wait, even if you're on time for your appointment. I know grooming is a big moneymaker for many practices, but I wish Inwood had a separate entrance and/or area for grooming.

I have been coming here for around a year. Great staff! They expanded the waiting area which is great! My dog has liver problems and they have always provide the best care possible. They call in one or two days to provide blood and stool test results, and call to see how your pet is doing after a visit. Which is really fast since I tried another vet in the past, and they took a week just for stool results, and didn’t actually care a lot to help. Dr. Tsung help my dog so much, he was in really bad pain and would not eat. She prescribed him medication that basically saved him and now he is doing great. We are working in getting his liver values normal, but she has helped my dog tremendously. Thank you so much

Tldr: outstanding, friendly vets, but a little expensive. Go here if you don't have time to wait for an appointment with the Humane Society. This place is my preferred vet clinic in upper Manhattan and one of the top three in NYC that my wife and I have ever used. Our two dogs have received unbelievably good care from the vets here and we trust them with any procedure that our dogs need (one of our dogs just got neutered two days ago and it went so smoothly!). The vets are kind and patient, always willing to answer any questions that you might have. They can also usually schedule an appointment relatively quickly, which is good in more pressing situations. The one downside to this place (and the reason for 4 stars) is that the prices are pretty steep. To illustrate, a straightforward neuter for an 18 lb dog starts at $350, but our dog had an undescended testicle which added around $200 to the cost. This did, however, include a complimentary nail trim, all of the dog's medicine, and the post-op cone. Additionally, micro chipping our new dog costed $91. Teeth cleaning and polishing costed around $150, but they can do the cleaning while the dog is under anesthesia for another procedure (e.g., neutering). One thing I really appreciated was that they chose not to do the teeth cleaning for our dog while he was under anesthesia because he didn't seem to be managing the anesthesia well after the neutering and they didn't want to risk it. This showed me that they kept my dog's health/best interests in mind at all times and I was so grateful for that. I will be sad when I move and can no longer use them as our dog's primary clinic. This was my first visit to this vet with my four year old Chihuahua and my four month old Chihuahua. I must say, I did quite a bit of research on vets in the area prior to deciding to try Inwood Animal Clinic. Unlike other vet offices I have visited recently, the staff at this office seemed very warm and happy to assist. They didn't appear to be overworked which is a very common appearance lately, and everyone appeared to be happy to be there. As soon as we signed in, I immediately went to the restroom and was back at the desk in just a few minutes. My dogs had already been called to the back with the other parent!! Talk about an amazing move for first impression!! Not only were the employees very attentive and helpful, Doctor Jennifer Tsung was the epitome of the ideal doctor. She made us feel very welcome and comfortable, she seemed to be very genuine with her answers to all questions, and most importantly, we were not rushed. The next day, I received an email offering online account access for our account with the clinic, and I must say that it is as good as any online banking or utility website. VERY cool!!! I am one of the most critical customers an establishment can have (and for good reason). I am also one of the most loyal. They have a very good operation at this clinic, and we REALLY hope to see them stick around forever while maintaining this awesome level of service. Thank you Inwood Animal Clinic for giving us complete peace of mind regarding the healthcare of our boys.

My 11:15 am appointment did not start until after 11:40am. Also with COVID, a man walked in with his mask on his chin and no staff said anything to him. Also at one point, there was no social distancing because it got crowded. The vet who saw my puppy and the staff made up for everything else. They were great! This was my first time going so I will give them another chance. *UPDATE* More social distancing is still needed. It can get crowded in there. Otherwise, the customer service is great and the facilities are clean. Changing from a 3 to a 4.

The three stars are for Dr. Mann who was very good, knowledgeable, and very patient. And very nice person as well. The lack of two other stars is for the people doing the booking - they need to do better. It did occur to me that there may be a head office that insists on this overbooking, but in all honestly I sat there for 45 minutes watching the two ladies at the front desk, and all the other people who stopped by their desk to chat and kid around. I decided to write this review just so maybe the people who run the place can understand why I decided not to go back. My first rule is that my time is as important to me as theirs is to them - I do not wait for more than 45 minutes for any appointment. Ever. My second observation is that if a place of business overbooks, I have to wonder how much time they will have for me or my pet? I have a feeling that if there are a bunch of people waiting, they will tend to hustle and try to get to everyone. My last appointment was set for 3:45 PM, I heard the Doctor ask one of the ladies for a time. As I always do, I showed up 15 minutes early. There was a man already there - no idea what time his appointment was for, but clearly he was there longer than me, and at minimum he, too, had to wait 45 minutes or more. He was taken care of much later than his appointment, I was next but the waiting area had filled up by that time - this bothers me as I must assume they will try to cycle through the customers as quickly as possible to satisfy everyone. This is worrisome, which is why I left and decided to look for a Vet somewhere else. Thank you for reading.

The place is a little small, but the Staff and Doctors are very friendly, easy to talk to and joke with, and know exactly what they are doing. I brought my cat in for a worm check and vaccination updates. He's a pretty difficult cat, but they worked with him very easily and took really good care of him. We were in and out within an hour, only because we had to wait for test results. The cost was lower than I was expecting, considering he had a test, two shots, and then a medication added on. I definitely recommend Inwood Animal Clinic to anyone who lives in Inwood/Washington Heights.

During this pandemic I understand that we need to maintain a distance even if that requires us to stand outside, however, some of our babies don’t have shoes. It was a bit sad when my little girl looked up at me lifting each paw and whimpering because her paws were really cold. I want the providers to take their time with our fur babies but I would maybe recommend appt reservations being further apart to avoid clutter. BUT! I was looking for a Veterinerian for my puppy and was very diligent in my online review research as well as looking at the reviews about this clinic. Since the clinic is not far from where I live I decided to give it a try and book an appointment for my two months old puppy. When I arrived to the clinic on my appointment date I was very displeased about the lack of attention by the front desk staff. There was a young woman who did not even take the time to greet me or ask me why I was in the office. I had to introduce myself and let her know I had an appointment scheduled. At this point she instructed me to have a seat , but around 8 minutes later I had to ask her if there was a paper work that I needed to complete since it was my first time in the clinic with my pet. She handed me a board to complete the new patient registration form and after I completed the form did not even ask me if I was ready. I placed it on the desk and it just remained there. I was about to leave the place but at that instant my pets name was called. I was called by the veterinarian ‘s assistant Marisol and she treated me very well. She was friendly , knowledgeable and handled my puppy with a lot of care. She was able to answer some questions that I have with lots of paciente and care. Within a few minutes later , Dr. Shimel arrived. He was very friendly, extremely kind, helpful, and very thorough. He answered all my questions and was very kind to my pet. I really appreciate Dr Shimel for changing the impression I had first encountered based on the front desk experience and to Marisol as well for being courteous , professional and taking good care of my puppy. Other than the experience at the front desk , I really appreciate the Doctor care & will be returning. The doctor was knowledgeable & friendly. As well as gentle with my pet. I highly recommend this veterinary clinic. I gave 4 stars because of the front desk experience.

I got squished in last saturday because someone else cancelled; So I quickly rushed right away because my little Sophia had a fever and wasn't eating. I quickly checked in and waited a bit but only about half hour; which is not bad for not having an appointment. They check my Sophia, did blood work, gave her electrolytes, some medicine for her stomach and antibiotics. Waited 1 hour for blood work and it was all good. THe price was not bad for all they gave her plus the blood work. I'd go back.

Decent clinic we take out Dog and Cat here, they are pretty friendly. The doctors and staff really seem to care about you and your pets. The biggest issue I have is that no matter what you want them to do, your animal has to have a physical if it's within just a few weeks.

Took my dog Charlie to the clinic twice in the same day, once for a tick removal and then later for an unrelated allergic reaction. Charlie was seen almost immediately both times. The staff were very friendly and were very patient with both of us and answered all my questions. Charlie left feeling a lot better both times, and so did I. Inwood Animal Clinic is a great place to bring your pets. I moved to Inwood from the UWS, and have brought my dog to Inwood Animal Clinic for the last 3 years. They are professional, kind, and always call to see how my dog is doing after any visit. It is super cute. He goes in for a grooming, and like clock work, the next day I get a call to just check on Miloh. He really hates being groomed and is a nervous little dog, so they are checking on his feelings as much as his physical state. I think it shows how much they love and care for animals, that even call after the grooming appointments. Miloh has had all his regular checkups there, he has had vaccinations done, and also his dental cleaning (deep cleaning that required sedation). I have never had an issue with the staff or the doctors. A few times, new front desk staff or less senior front desk staff may not have been as outstanding as some of the more seasoned staff. But quickly, as they train up, the same standard of care is given. Regardless, I have always been treated with respect. I have sent my friends there and they also, were treated with respect. The clinic is clean and all services are reasonably priced. All vets are just expensive everywhere, and if you aren't prepared for the cost of paying full price for medical care (if you don't have pet medical insurance), you might be like 😲🤔😶. But that is just part of being a pet owner. I recommend saving a little every week, if you can afford it, so that you have a pet care fund. Or you can get the CareCredit credit card to help offset the cost of unexpected vet bills. The waiting room is small, tiny in fact, so if you have to wait with a very sick animal, I could see this being an annoyance...especially if you are already worried or scared for your pet. I have never had to wait, since I haven't (gratefully) had an emergency, so I can't comment on that experience much, except to sympathize. All in all, I have 100% confidence in this vet. I love that they are full service, (grooming, medical and dental). I only wish they had extended hours. Great place!

I had a dying FIV cat, one I'd had a long time. He was failing, but then I knew he was close to the end. I'd wanted him to die at home, but realized -- as the weekend approached -- that couldn't happen. I'd not been to this office, but it is close to my home, and I was able to get an appointment quickly. Everyone was lovely: front desk staff, the kind vet tech and the vet herself. I wasn't rushed. I held my old kitty for a long time after his sedation. When the time came for his final injection, I put my head on his head and wept. Both professionals were quietly emphatic and respectful. I want to thank Dr. Tsung, Dr. Shimel, and the entire staff at Inwood Animal Clinic for the kindness and compassion they gave to us and our sweet girl Sophia (may she rest in peace) in the days after Christmas this past year when we had to make the decision that every pet parent dreads. While I still tear up when I walk by on my way to the library, I know that when the time is right to bring another furbaby into our lives, Inwood Animal Clinic will be their vet. I had our taking two dachshunds to Inwood Animal Clinic since moving to the neighborhood in 2014 and I can't say enough good things about them. Not only did they correctly diagnose Sophia with a chronic medical problem that West Side Vet Center missed for years, they are also very up-front and honest about the costs and likely outcomes — which is very much appreciated. When Sophia's kidney's failed and we decided to hospitalize her to try to flush everything out; however, after 26 hours, Dr. Tsung gave me the heartbreaking news that Sophia's numbers hadn't budged at all and she recommended we think about letting her go. Had we been at a different vet, I have no doubt in my mind that we would have been pushed us to try additional invasive treatments — like what happened to my sister and her husband (they lost their corgi to an incredibly fast-growing cancer). Instead of being given the option of humanely letting the dog pass, the vet they were seeing (at Tufts in Grafton, MA) assumed that they wanted to immediately operate to remove the tumor (located in the poor dog's brain) and then give her chemotherapy...only to extend her life by 6-12 months. When they said, "no — we want to bring her home for a few days and when she is getting bad bring her back to let her go without pain," the vet was visibly shocked. A situation like what my sister and her husband went through would never have happened at IAC. When the time comes to say goodbye to your best friend of 13.5 years, vets like Drs. Tsung and Shimel (who provide you with multiple options and probable outcomes — and accept your decision without judgement) truly makes all the difference in the world.

For my first time coming to this animal clinic it a really good experience with them they took care all my pet needs and even called me day later check on my dog which to me is very amazing because no other vet I've been to has ever done

I recently had the unenviable task of having one of my cats euthanized. The staff at Inwood was very kind and helpful. Two weeks later, staff called to inform that my cat's paw print was ready for pick up. I had not ordered this, and it represented $18, so I asked for a credit to my account (and got it). I hope this was a one-time accident, rather than a routine adding of charges when the customer's emotional state is such that a charge goes unnoticed. This once happened to me with another animal clinic (in another city).

Inwood Animal Clinic is wonderful!! The check-in staff, vet techs, and Dr. Shimel were all extremely kind, helpful, and very thorough. Being new to the neighborhood, I was very diligent in my online review research, as well as speaking to the MANY dog owners I crossed paths with while out walking my dog, Buddy. Everyone I met highly recommend Dr. Shimel and/or Inwood Animal Clinic. I'm glad I listened!! The staff even called me back twice when I needed to pick up his meds. Since Buddy is diabetic, blind, and will celebrate his 13th Birthday on New Year's Day, I'm always concerned that Vets will either get "test happy" and take advantage of my wallet, since Buddy is also my service animal and only child, or proclaim him "old and let nature take it's course" (that opinion came from the NYC ASPCA Clinic!!). Dr. Shimel was very thorough, discussed which blood work was needed, and a few expensive tests that were not. He gave me a tip on how best to deal with Buddy's glaucoma (not thru expensive eye drops he could have prescribed), so when the glaucoma clears we can discuss surgery for removal of cataracts so he can see again! While the total bill was not cheap, I found it reasonable in comparison with other Vets in both NYC, and other large cities. I'm so very happy to have found such a wonderful Veterinarian, and clinic staff close to my new Apt. They emailed me a copy of his blood work results, AND the doctor called to discuss the tests as well - and patiently answered all of my questions! The only drawback I can find, is they aren't open 24/7. But since I have emails of Buddy's medical record and blood test results, should their ever be an after hours emergency, I can easily give Buddy's medical history! I HIGHLY recommend Inwood Animal Clinic.

Dr. Tsung and the rest of the staff at IAC are saints. No, really, they are. My kitty is newly rescued from the streets and is still very wild. I had to rush him in one weekend this spring as a first-time patient and somehow they were able to handle him. He has sincr had a follow up visit and, again, Dr. Tsung was able to address my multiple concerns about his health while delivering a solution that was perfect. I am very thankful to have found them.

My boyfriend and I had a rough couple of days after having our dog neutered. The first night he was continuously throwing up - I called the clinic the next day and they gave him fluids which brought him right back to normal. A few days later, my once housebroken dog, was peeing all over the house every 30 minutes - he could not even make it downstairs when we were out of the apartment. We took him in to Inwood Animal Clinic - they did a thorough exam and a urine test - but everything looked fine. They had us come back in to run a few more tests. Although his tests were normal, the vet listened to our concerns (and the fact that we knew there was something wrong) and put him on antibiotics for a possible UTI - in case the urine test was a false negative. A few days later our puppy was back to normal! Inwood animal clinic worked with us to diagnose the problem and always treated our dog and us so well. The veterinarian listened to us and addressed all of our questions and concerns. Highly recommend this place - the veterinarians and staff are awesome!!

This vet is one of the best in nyc I’ve had animals especially dogs all my life and been to a good number of them around nyc and I’ve never received a call back from one after the visit just asking how my dogs was doing and just genuinely interested in the pets health. My dog large size breed got into a dog fight with another dog in a park and had a really large and deep laceration that required extensive care stitches and daily cleaning so you know as a owner you on high tension and high worrisome everything went well and my dog fully recovered with no problems Like others have say you get what you pay for.

I have been fortunate enough to bring my two cats to Inwood Animal Clinic for the past 4 years. Dr. Tsung is AMAZING: knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly gifted with animals. On my most recent visit, I took in my kitten, who had been coughing up a bloody discharge. The previous evening, I had taken her to an emergency veterinary clinic for examination, and they told me that nothing appeared on their x-ray: they simply couldn't tell what was wrong. Within two minutes of the exam at Inwood, Dr. Tsang (using only her hands and a light-up scope!) saw a foreign object (a sewing needle my cat had somehow ingested) lodged in my kitty's throat. She removed it, shared before and after x-rays with me, and even shared advice in person and through email. I came in feeling scared, not knowing why my cat was in so much distress, and left feeling so much better about my cat's health. Not only did Dr. Tsung heal my kitty, but I was charged less than half the amount that I had paid the night before at the emergency vet--who had done nothing to help my cat or give me answers. Thank you Dr. Tsung and staff. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone.
