We just had the best Vet visit today. Only one hour in and out. Dr Stephens was remarquable and was explaining everything to us as she was performing the exam. Kirsten and Amber were very sweet and Eli as well. Bowie was HAPPY :)

Very professional staff and doctors, in particular, Dr Nunez. He was very personable, informative, and professional. Dr. Nunez called me personally to check on my dog after his treatment and took his time answering my questions and concerns. Strawbridge has also taken steps to ensure there is scheduling space to help pets that were not able to be seen at the after hours emergency vet offices who have unfortunately had to reduce hours.

I brought in my cat, Nickles, yesterday for urgent care. The staff was Amazing and kind. Sadly my old man had to be euthanized, but the dr and nurse made it as smooth as it could be. They talked to me about my options, weighed the pros and cons and help me make the best decision in the end. They even stayed late with me and him. The wait was long but I completely understand as they also have appointments with other pets. Thank you all for your kindness. Nickles and I are forever greatful. ❤️🌈

There’s no place better. Our Binx got sick and they helped us through figuring out how to help him. We ultimately had to make the hard decision to put him down but they were with us every step of the way. The Vet and the other workers comforted us during the difficult time. They even sent us a card with condolences which made our hearts swell. This place is not only an establishment for business but a family. ♥️

EDIT 02-03-23 - We've had Kira in here quite a lot, paid whatever is necessary. She has either a bladder infection or UTI and the receptionist said that she'd have to wait until the 13th or bring her in at 2:30 today "but she probably wouldn't be seen anyway because they close at 6pm" ... Really? This is not the level of care we're used to with you guys.... Strawbridge is about a 45 minute drive for us and is absolutely worth every mile! Our old girl has had some trouble this year and had to have an emergency splenectomy, a mastectomy and will need another mastectomy soon. She is always so excited to come here! We tell her she’s going to see her friends 😁. The staff here is wonderful and caring, Doc Walker is the best! He truly cares and is so diligent, I honestly believe our baby Kira is still with us because of him.

I have an older dog and she’s had a couple of recent emergencies. Strawbridge Animal Care was able to get her in and seen quickly each time. Their staff and their doctors are friendly and informative. I felt confident my old girl was getting the best treatment from people who genuinely love animals.

After calling around to multiple vets to get our 14 year old Charlie Brown in to help him pass over the rainbow bridge due to his suffering Strawbridge Animal Care had a spot for him. Little did we know what a blessing the staff would be to our family!! From the caring guy who met us in the parking lot, to the sweet girl who brought us back & gave him some yummy treats, to the Doc who treated Charlie Brown with the kindest touch, care & respect...my family has been singing all of your praises. We could not have asked for any more compassion & support then we got from complete strangers. Then the blessing on top was the sweet card with nose & paw prints we received in the mail today. Thank you will never be enough for the staff!!!

Everyone I spoke to was friendly. Covid style policies still exist (animals only inside, humans wait outside the building). My dog sustained an injury and I am thankful that this veterinarian was able to see him today (five other urgent care vets had no availability); however, to be seen, I had to wait outside for over 5 hours. During this wait time, no updates were provided, even after the estimated 2 hour wait time elapsed. Surely, this experience can be improved. I want to give 5 stars, based on direct staff interactions, but improved communication would be preferred.

My regular vet did not have staff available today and I desperately needed my Lucy to be seen. She was choking and honking all night long and it was scary beyond belief. I called Strawbridge and the Receptionist immediately calmed my fears, encouraging me to come in as soon as possible. I checked in, a tech asked some probing questions and they took my baby in to be examined. The vet, Dr. Walker, was thorough, kind and professional. I felt confident in his recommendations for Lucy's treatment for kennel cough. I was so impressed with this entire operation and I highly recommend them. Thank you Strawbridge Animal Care.....you are top notch in my book!!!

I absolutely loved this place. They took great care of my baby girl (harley) as if she was their own. Superb service. They saw me on a very short notice. They treated me like I was family. The best part affordable! I highly recommend this clinic. I have found my forever clinic.

The Urgent Care Vet was very thorough and compassionate with our 15 yr old English Setter. Also appreciate that Strawbridge was willing to see him when we needed them. We will be using Strawbridge as our regular Vet in the future.

Strawbridge was the first clinic nearby open where I was able to take my dog for lifesaving measures. They were friendly and patient with him as he is a VERY nervous dog in a clinic setting. They set up a transfer to the overnight emergency clinic and this saved his life. The cost to bring my dog home again for any amount of time was worth every penny. Bevo is home resting with his kid brother and kitty sisters now after 3 days of care Thank you again for quickly accepting him into care

The service we received from Strawbridge Animal Care was nothing short of outstanding. It was our first time there, and our poor Chihuahua Marley hadn’t eaten in almost 3 days and she was lethargic to say the least. The situation was pretty serious. We called several veterinary hospitals and clinics (including our own!) and none of them would accept us. Ironically, most of them suggested Strawbridge Animal Care. Some of them even listed themselves as an emergency vet however still couldn’t help? Huh??? Anyway from the time I spoke with Strawbridge Animal Care on the phone until the time they were removing Marley from our car and bringing her inside was less than an hour!. They saw her quickly, and the doctor (Nunez) actually personally walked out to our car to explain to us what was going on and his suggestion moving forward. Needless to say our baby girl is doing fine now and we can’t thank the vets and staff at Strawbridge Animal Care enough. In fact, we were so impressed that I called my regular vet the next day and had all of my three dogs’ medical records faxed over and now Strawbridge Animal Care is going to be our permanent pet doctor. Even though it’s a farther drive for us. In our opinion it’s definitely worth it, and again thank you to the vets and staff at Strawbridge Animal Care!

Strawbridge was recommend to me when my own vet couldn’t get my fur baby in when she was hurt . They have great hours great Doctors Dr Gilfeather and Dr German and great staff! I was referred to this practice for an urgent care need when our regular provider could not see us; despite our need. When I called their office, a friendly young lady answered and provided me with the information needed and was kind and helpful. I was able to have my dog seen within just a few hours of me calling. What surprised me the most is that while waiting in the car for a bit, I observed many of their staff going outside to greet clients and accept or return their pets. Each of them were smiling and engaging and this was also near the end of the regular work day. I was not expecting such a good experience and certainly not under the circumstances. Dr. Walker and his team provided us with exactly what we needed. I will for certain be bringing my dog and others back to them for routine care from here forward.

Dr German saw my 10 year old Labrador retriever, Molly, this past Saturday on emergency. Molly was going into cardiovascular shock and was very close to dying. Once we got passed the parking….. Dr. Griffin and Tony made our visit great! This was our first visit with our pup and Dr. Griffin explained everything and we never felt rushed. On a week long trip to Virginia Beach. Our dog needed a vet. Lucked into dr. Nunez and staff. Professional,knowledgeable and caring. Got our boy on the road to recovery. Followed up the next day with a call to see how he was doing. Asked us to call back with an update before we leave. Wish they weren’t 6 hours away lol. Great vet great hospital!

We had only been living in the area for 2 days and our fur baby ripped out a few of her stitches from a recent surgery. Strawbridge was able to get us in fairly quickly considering it was a walk in and they were extremely busy as it was. We were even able to schedule a follow up appointment to have her stitches removed at a later day when they were ready. We will continue to use Strawbridge as long as we live in Norfolk! The staff I interacted with were very personable and talked to and about my baby like she was family and not just a pet. They definitely made an amazing first impression for us! To add as of 2/9/22: We had our first yearly appointment with both of our dogs today. The staff and doctor we saw were awesome! You can tell they are in this because they genuinely love animals and do this for them. My 2 dogs hate going to the vet, but they relaxed pretty quickly and we’re less anxious here than they are typically at the vet. We really like Strawbridge and will continue to go here as long as we are living in the area.

Best vet that I have visited! My husband and I recently added a puppy to the family and needed a vet open on weekends. So glad we found this place! The staff is so friendly and informative on our puppies needs. Got a cute little puppy welcome kit which had lots of goodies! They love to spoil/treat our puppy which makes the experience 10x better! Took my girl in as a walk-in for urgent care. Everyone was extremely nice and took such great care of my dog. The vet personally came out and was talking to everyone about their animal's status and was extremely nice and knowledgable, along with each vet tech. Hi! I recently visited Strawbridge Animal Care following the rescue of my puppy, Rex. Even during a crazy pandemic, the staff was kind, attentive and very informative during the curbside visit for my new puppy. The nurses and doctor walked me through everything, which really meant a lot considering I couldn't physically be in the room with him. I really appreciate the consideration and care you displayed for Rex and I. We will be back soon for his follow-up appointment and I am sure everything will go just as smoothly. I know that it's frustrating these 'covid' days to try to get in to see a vet. This staff works so hard to accommodate everyone and they deal with so many critical patients every single day. I have 3 babies and we are frequent visitors to this facility. I have been impressed with the care and patience of the staff as well as the doctors in answering all of my questions and alleviating any concerns. It's difficult with how busy they are, but they never fail. Dr. Nunez took the time away from an urgent case just today to address my concerns regarding my French Bulldog. His patience and concern just about had me in tears. I know it is annoying to have to wait for such a long time to get seen but...under the circumstances, I really don't see how it could be any different. So...if you plan on taking your pet to this veterinarian, please have patience. They are working so hard to take care of everyone and they are doing an outstanding job!

I've never experienced this level of kindness and people who actual care! This was my first time there with my Pitbull who's 9 years old. He had worms, a flea infestation and a bad allergic reaction. Not only was I met with the most comforting people who seemed interested in what I was seeing with my dogs behavior at home as well as symptoms and other things that may or may not have been part of the problem but they also told me a list of number of things that it could be but they also provided me with a high end option and a low end option out the door. What I would have to pay that made it super helpful and when I told them I could only afford the low end they beat that. They put him on a steroid, put medicine in his ear for the infection and flea medication. Then on top of all that they called to check his progress the very next day! Idk what above and beyond means to you but they've exceeded that in less than 24 hours. I feel like part of the family and I wasn't the one being treated! Lol. This will be the ONE AND ONLY VETERINARIAN I EVER TAKE ANY OF MY PETS!

The service was outstanding. You were able to fit us in at 6:30 PM and gave my kitty the best possible care. The whole staff was very caring and thorough. The vet explained everything in detail. I was truly impressed that the staff was not trying to rush since we were still there after closing. My lil Penelope was seen at the ER on Sunday. I touched base with Strawbridge on Monday and by Wednesday she still had me worried so I wanted her to be seen. The front desk was very kind and was able to take us under an urgent care appointment to see Dr. Gilfeather. Once she was seen the Dr. gave me a call and explained her thoughts, concerns and a plan. She was extremely kind and asked my opinion on what I thought about the next step. By Saturday she was still not doing well and I had some concerns with Sunday coming up and not wanting to go back to the ER. Dr. Gilfeather tried to get in touch with me but I missed the call because I was at work. I sent my Mother up to pick up a special food and the Dr. came out to the car to speak to her. This to me shows the type of care this hospital makes a point to give. Not only were all the conversations pleasant and understanding over the phone but the service of care not only for the pet but for the concerns of the owners is top notch. From the front desk to the technicians to the Dr. I felt we were in the best of care during a trying time. With Covid going on there has been a huge change for not only the offices to have to handle but also the clients. We don't get to go inside, be greeted and made to feel comfortable as it was in the past. This office has taken the time to still establish a relationship with their clients in a much difficult time. I'm forever grateful for the hard work and commitment of this office. I highly recommend them and all the staff to anyone who is looking for a Vets office. You can be sure to be in good hands. Thank you again for everything you've done Strawbridge. Penelope is getting back to herself again and this momma couldn't be happier with the experience and care given.

Strawbridge Animal Care is one of the best veterinary clinics in the area. The doctors, the staff, the front desk, everyone involved is very compassionate and caring. My baby Thalia has been going here since 2018 and they’ve taken the best care of her. Dr. German is her primary doctor and I couldn’t ask for a better provider for her. Sarah also knows and cares for Thalia a lot and it just makes going there all the more wonderful. Keep up the great work guys!

I have been Strawbridge Animal Care client for many years. Strawbridge Animal Care staff are very friendly, helpful, caring , compassionate and have always taken excellent care of my pets. They are knowledgeable and try hard to help with my pet’s health problems. When my beloved Mini crossed over the rainbow bridge after 22 years together, staff was very comforting. Receiving a handmade sympathy card signed by all the staff, made me feel cared for and loved. It helped with my grieving. Now I have four rescue cats and I trust Strawbridge Animal Care with my pet’s health care. They are like a family!

First visit: Dr. Gibbs, the vet tech Sarah, and the receptionist were all amazing and extremely welcoming. They all made myself and my dog very comfortable. I have never had a better experience. Second/follow-up visit: Dr. Gibbs was not available so we instead had Dr. German. 180 degree turn. She didn’t really try to be friendly with my dog - she just went in for the medical part of the check-up. She made both of us very uncomfortable. I told her that, and afterwards she slammed the door behind her when she left! The manager came to speak to me about it, and she made it feel like our first visit - comfortable. Dr. German never came back to the room. She never told me what to look out for with my dogs’ ears, didn’t recommend I come back, didn’t check back with my dog at all. She had the absolute worst bedside manner. If it weren’t for her, I would give Strawbridge a 4.5 rating.

The staff at Strawbridge Animal Care is second to none! Their curbside service during the COVID-19 pandemic was safe, responsive, and easy. They update you throughout the course of your pet's treatment either by coming out to your car or giving you a phone call. They addressed the concerns I had about Archie, and even recommended things to improve his health that I didn't even know about. I'll definitely be bringing my kitty back here again!

We are new to Strawbridge d/t our previous vet clinic was closed for renovations. I could not be any happier with my couple visits here. Everyone is nice and welcoming. The vet was very compasionate and actually listened to me and she even suggested allergy medicine when for years I have mentioned maybe starting something for Apollo and our previous vet didn't even consider anything, not even acknowleding my thoughts or conerns that he might have seasonal allergies. So, super happy to make the change over to Strawbridge!

The assistant and vet gave me a lot of great information and took their time with us. They didn't make me feel like I needed to spend a bunch of money on other services. We just recently had bought a puppy, and had some issues going on that was a little later in the evening and most other vets had already locked up shop until the next day. I reached out to them for advice and if I need to act upon it and find an after hours vet or possibly bring her in to them. The young lady whom had answered the phone was great. Although not a Dr herself she had put enough calming info to us that it calmed my wife and daughter enough to wait for the Dr to call me back, as she did within about 15-20 minutes. After a bunch of questions and voicing of concerns she also was patient enough to deal with us being understandably upset, worried, and scared to put us at easy that she had probably just ate something that didn't agree, and she was right, we had our bouncing, happy, energetic puppy back the next morning! Thank you to all of you on staff at Strawbridge animal!

My puppy ate two corn cobs whole and needed emergency surgery, and no other vet that I called could make room for her. Not only did they fit in her surgery on what seemed to be a very busy day, but everyone on the staff was incredible and took such great care of her! They all obviously love every animal that comes into the office, and I’m planning on taking both my dogs there from now on. Definitely would recommend them!

My first visit with my new puppy went very well. Unfortunately due to CoVid I was unable to go inside with my pup and meet the car givers. The doctor called me and spoke to me about what was done, what to do, what happens next and what a good pup I have. The technicians took loving care of my pup getting her inside and back to me safely as well as delivering the medications and “fun” welcome package. Dr. Henderson and the staff at Strawbridge are the best! They have taken care of all three of my dogs. We were new clients to this location and they immediately treated us like family. We just recently took in our new rescue, and not only did we not get charged for an office visit, they were running a new pet special, they were very thorough in checking him out without breaking our bank. We were there for over an hour and didn't feel rushed at all. I also love that they call the next day to check in. They were very supportive when we called panicking about the new dog getting along with the others, even Dr. Henderson called us personally to make sure things were ok. Highly recommended!!!!!

We LOVE this vet! Dr. Henderson has taken exceptional care of our first 2 boys since they were babies at another office. Now, we travel the 30-40 mins just to come to this clinic. The techs are super friendly and accommodating, even when you call panicking and needing advice. We have recently rescued a 3rd and they have all been so helpful getting us all acclimated to the new guy. They go above and beyond without being all about the money :) As the mom of 4 dogs now, I wouldn't go anywhere else! The extended evening hours are a plus too for us working "parents".

Excellent Veterinary Clinic! We had to put down a beloved 13 year old lab several months back with this clinic and can not speak to how kindly we were treated. A handmade sympathy card signed by all the staff arrived at our house within days. I'm new to the area and I've always been cautious about where to take my babies. My dog has never had fleas, it's never been an issue where we're from so when we came out here he was crawling with little bitting b*******s. I saw this place by chance and instantly knew I had to look it up. I saw nothing but good reviews and knew it was worth a try. I was very pleased with the experience and the attention my baby received. I also feel like it was meant to be. My dog was diagnosed with a minor case of epilepsy last year, but I am the only one who has ever witnessed an episode. He had one during this visit. It's sad that he had one but I'm relieved that it happened here, in a vets office, while the vet was with him even! Now a professional has witnessed it first hand and reassured me that yes it is epilepsy and just too keep and eye on everything like I have been. They made me aware of all my options for how to handle the fleas. They did not pressure any particular medication and and treated me and my dog with respect and kindness. All of my questions were answered and I left there feeling great about everything went. I'll recommend Strawbridge Animal Care to any pet parent.

They were really warm and personable when I brought my mini Schnauzer for her yearly check up and I appreciate how quickly I was in and out plus the honesty of the veterinarian in regards to various medications I asked about for my dog. My cat had been having diarrhea and rapidly losing weight for months. I had been taking him to another veterinary clinic and they never explored what was wrong with him. I woke up one morning and he was lethargic, hadn't touched his food, and he had gone to the bathroom on himself. I called my usual vet and they had no openings that day (blessing in disguise!). I saw the dire need to get him in ASAP so I called Strawbridge as a new client and they fit me in within an hour. My appointment time was 12:00 and I was there with Dr. Walker's undivided attention until 3:30. They ran numbers of tests and explained everything to me, although disheartening because they suspected cancer. Dr. Walker, the techs, and the receptionists were so kind and compassionate as I was tearfully pacing their waiting room. They ran tests that my other vet never thought of doing on my cat, due to this and catching a mass on his intestines at the right time, this has prolonged his life. My cat was on the brink of irreversible damage and death. Without Dr. Walker's help and seeing the true urgency, my cat would no longer be with us. He referred us to a surgeon in the knick of time. Dr. Walker even spent time after the clinic's closing time to call the referring surgeon and explain what we were facing. I highly recommend this clinic! The entire staff's compassion, knowledge, and true love for animals is apparent. I couldn't ask for more from them!

The staff at Strawbridge Animal Care have been incredible to work with over the last year. I cannot thank them enough for what they've done for our Bostons - (almost) 17 year old Spanky and 6 year old Lincoln. The front desk staff are always professional, welcoming, and helpful, and they never complain about submitting insurance forms or helping me switch around my appointment times. We go 3 times a week for SubQ fluids and the vet techs always take great care of Spanky and make sure he's comfortable during the procedure. We regularly see Dr. Salmon at the Great Neck clinic who examines and gives him acupuncture weekly. I have found Dr. Salmon to be exceptional - caring, personable, honest, comprehensive, proactive, science-minded, and driven to provide the best veterinary medicine possible. Dr. Salmon has not only saved Spanky's life a couple of times but also given him a new lease on life by easing his aches and pains through acupuncture and closely monitoring his health conditions. He is now taking much fewer medications and has an improved quality of life. In the few times of an emergency when Dr. Walker, German, or Griffin were on staff, I have found them to be attentive to the urgent nature of the visit, compassionate, and willing to help coordinate care with Bay Beach Emergency and Dr. Salmon so that she stays in the loop to monitor Spanky's condition until she can see him next. Between the Strawbridge and Great Neck locations of this practice we are in there 4 times a week so I get to see the day to day operations from the client perspective and truly appreciate the commitment to compassionate, quality care that all of these professionals have exhibited. Knowing we are in good hands and that they are there for our family is such a comfort. I highly recommend them.

I would like to thank everyone at Strawbridge Animal hospital for taking such great care of my little Lulu. Lulu is a Silky Terrier and she was pregnant with only one puppy. She is also very scared of people she does not know but from day one was very comfortable with everyone there. We started out with pregnancy checks, then the dreadful realization that Lulu was not going to go into labor. A quick trip to Strawbridge revealed the puppy was no longer living and Lulu needed an emergency C-section and spay. A couple of abnormal issues were found and a second surgery was needed. Lulu is fully recovered and back to her usual self and we just can't thank Strawbridge Animal hospital enough. I feel like we've made friends for life! I had pet insurance with banfield veterinarians at Petco last week I had to put my dog to sleep do to cancer, when I called banfield and told them my dog was suffering, they told me the earliest they could see me was the end of the next day !!! Now remember that I'm a multi dog owner and there regularly... no regards for a suffering animal.... They all tried to stay positive and they helped to calm us down and reassure us. Sadly Lilo passed away and when we took her in for end-of-life care. My dog Jetty has been coming here since he was a puppy. A few months ago we found out he had heartworm (he was a shelter pup transferred from Louisiana) and Dr. German was great with explaining the terrifying disease and treatment plan with me. After he received his first shot for heartworm, he was not doing well and we rushed him here for an emergency visit. Dr. Nuñez was able to determine that his liver was failing and he needed emergency care. He stayed at an emergency vet for two nights and luckily pulled through. Dr. Nuñez continued to call and check up on him daily while he was at the emergency vet and has continued to provide us with a better treatment plan that works for Jetty. Without Dr. Nuñez and the staff at Strawbridge, I truly don’t know if Jetty would have survived. Everyone I have interacted with has been extremely friendly and helpful even during the hardest times.

When I began my search for a new place to take my pets, I went here first because of the high reviews. I called as a new patient and was able to get my dog seen within two hours of calling. There's a decent size waiting area with two desks and space on each side of the room for seating. The doors and desks are separated by a "cat enterance" and a "dog enterance" which I thought was a smart idea for the times when it gets busy. The room that we were seen in was a little small with no table, but we were only being seen for a possible respiratory issue, so I wasn't too concerned. We were able to be seen and get a prescription there all in under an hour. Each person we talked to was delightful. This facility also uses the app PetDesk, where you can make appointments and such. I highly recommend Strawbridge Animal Care to everyone.
