Everyone is so nice here. They are very thorough and polite. They give my best friend great care and love. The vet explains everything and she makes sure you understand all details of care she also does not rush you . They are #1 to me . I highly recommend them for your pets care and needs

I just moved to Va and Providence Vet was able to get me an appointment for my fur baby in a very timely manner even as a new patient. The receptionist were extremely cheerful, pleasant, helpful, friendly and welcoming. The vet assistant was very professional and thorough as well as the veterinarian herself. They explained everything in detail, asked me if I understood the instructions for care and if I had any questions. Also, they didn’t just leave it at that and think their treatment would suffice, they insisted on a follow up appointment to check my baby and see for themselves how she is doing. I will be continuing her lifelong care with them. Highly recommend this Veterinarian office!

The staff is friendly and helpful. They seem to really care about the animals and have systems in place to give the best service. I feel comfortable bringing my fur babies in to be seen. When services are being offered, options are provided and it is explained what needs to be done versus what can be delayed. The pricing makes services affordable and the options make this office a more budget manageable option.

My dog is very skiddish and high anxiety. Since I started coming they have navigated all of with me and made the visits to the vet as smooth as possible to help my dog feel as comfortable as possible. I am so grateful for them! After many vets over the years trying to find one that worked with Gunny rather than forcing him to get in and out of the office as soon as possible, we have found it at Providence Square Veterinary Clinic. Just adopted a dog from Island Dog Rescue. I called to make an appointment for a well check up and they gave me an appointment the very next day. Everyone was very nice and took the time to explain things and answer our questions. Not crowded at all. No wait time once we got there for our appointment.

I love the kind and knowledgeable folks at Providence Vet. My 9-year-old Lab is very timid, but she always calms down and relaxes after the warm greeting provided by the ladies at the clinic. Dr. Bedford provides excellent care for Ivy, and I am tremendously pleased with every aspect of the care given to the four-legged member of our family:-). Thanks for all you do for Ivy (and us!)

They are amazing here! They were able to get us in the next day even never have been there before. They helped accommodate us because our dog is not the greatest with other dogs and was able to make sure the lobby was clear and brought us back to a room so quickly and so they really made us feel comfortable and not as anxious as we normally are at the other place we use to take him to. Will definitely always come back to this office!

My dog had an issue and couldn’t be seen by my vets as they have gotten so big, it’s hard to get an appointment for things that come up. Providence vets were able to see my pet on the same day. They went above and beyond to get my baby in and on the road to recovery even though we were not their client. Thank you providence vets for helping us in our time of need. Took my cat and my puppy there. I usually take them to a vaccine clinic just for their shots, but I wanted a more thorough exam and actual opportunities to speak with the staff/vet. Here they still took my pets to another room for the exam, but the vet tech was open and communicative about what was checked and about any concerns that we had. The vet also took the time to come out and speak with us directly to further discuss any concerns we had, so that was a nice plus after usually taking my girls to places I feel like we’re being rushed out the clinic and with no interaction with vet techs or vets. Here the staff was friendly from the moment we walked in and throughout our visit. Because of this, I’ll be finishing my puppy’s remaining shots here rather than the vaccine clinic I usually went to, sometimes better experiences are worth the additional cost although here the prices also seem pretty fair.

They took fantastic care of my dog. She needed a lot of dental work. I would rate 5 stars if their original estimate for care was more accurate, but they ended up raising the price multiple times as they worked on her. Edited: we have used them several times since and have always had a good experience, leading me to believe that the previous price raises may have been out of their control and not a common issue. Providence Vet is great. Unfortunately I don't remember any of the staff's names, but everyone I've had the pleasure to meet has been so friendly and helpful. My pup is very hyperactive, and they're always understanding and able to keep him calm throughout the visit. Another thing I love is that the rest of the patients are friendly as well!

Dr. Bedford and her team are Always excellent. They are kind people with an obvious passion for what's best for our pets. Here's why I keep going back: 1. Dr. Bedford is always 100% honest about what we're dealing with, even if it's not the best news. She doesn't pull her punches when it comes to making sure the animals get the best care and I genuinely appreciate that. 2. All of the techs get to know our pets and care about them as much as we do. 3. A lot of vet's offices (especially emergency vets) can gouge their prices, but Providence is always fairly priced, and even have occasional discounts. All in all, one of the best vet's offices I've ever used and I Always send my family and friends to them!

I was able to get a same day appointment for my sick puppy. The staff was helpful and friendly. They treated my dog as if she was their own. X-rays were expensive, but advised by the veterinarian. I will be taking my dog back for future appointments.

They have been great over the past 4 years in helping me take care of my 3 elderly cats who I basically provided hospice care for one after another until they passed. There were several last minute emergencies and they were always able to fit us in. My one elderly cat was a mommas boy and they were able to accommodate having me hold him during some exams. Lately my brand new kitten had a potential emergency and they were able to see him right away.

Everyone in the clinic was so nice and Dr. Alexandra Bedford was super sweet. She answered all of my questions and concerns. Titus had a lot done and the price was affordable. Wonderful place to take your pet. My dog have had issues since October and had taken him to his regular vet that he has gone to for 13 years . After not seeing any results took him to Providence. He was seen today the day I called for help. The Vet took her time evaluated him got him diagnosed and is being treated. Also was able to go inside and see the vet face to face. Had a awesome visit. Will continue to take my dog there.

Was able to get an appointment same day after trying at our regular place for over a week. They were able to see our elderly chihuahua, who was diagnosed with bronchitis. They were able to get us the medication he needed and he's feeling much better only 2 days into them. I am probably going to make these guys my main vet from now on.

I don't know where to begin. I come from a small town in Maine. My Veterinarian came to my truck in the dead of winter to give my old, feeble lab his shots. When I had to put him down, they met me in the bed of my truck and cried as hard as I did. I adopted an abused Dachshund 3.5 years ago. He now has back issues. I did my research because I was certain no-one could compare to the service I received back home. I saw the 5 star rating and hoped for the best. I was floored by the service they gave to Max. They not only fit him in the following day, they saw him within a short amount of time and treated him so kind. The Veterinarian called and explained all her concerns. He is a timid dog for obvious reasons. When I picked him up, it was clear he was not traumatized by the experience. The red-headed tech at the desk was as kind and gracious as a person could be. I regret that I don't remember her name but I was anxious when I left him. Don't hesitate bringing your pet here. You won't be disappointed.

My golden retriever, Compass, had a sudden broken front claw issue and I needed to get her seen. Having just moved here I was unsure of where to go. I checked our local Vet ratings and chose Providence Vet. I’m sure glad I did. Service was prompt and my dog-o was well taken care of and on the mend by the next day. The prices were fair too- no gouging the new out of stater. Dr. Alexandra was great and a consummate professional. I’ll certainly keep going back!

Providence Vet is very good. My dog was recently diagnosed with Mammary cysts, the surgery was scary looking but healed up beautifully. The vets office kept a good contact with me after the surgery and had checkups afterwards and all prices were very good compared with another local vet we had used. I really like the Dr. and the team there, they are very nice people. Additionally my dog also had a spay and teeth cleaning and all went well. The office was fairly clean and did not trigger my asthma/allergies. The only thing I wish is that the well exam was done in front of you and that includes all shots and bloodwork. I like to see what is done to my animal. Otherwise all has been very good. They work with me on chewy for heartworm meds which was real easy to order.

Providence Square Veterinary Clinic was very warm and welcoming. They were quick to respond to my appointment request via email. I got there a few minutes early and they took me right away. I was there because I just adopted a rescue cat and wanted to establish a vet for him and also do a wellness exam. They took great care of him and were very complimentary on his appearance and temperament. They also were very informative and answered all of my questions. Everyone from the front dest to the doctors have been very professional and courteous. The wait times have always been reasonable and they are very communicative about each visit. We don't feel like they overcharge and I'm very comfortable making a vet apt for our cats, I couldn't say that about the previous vet clinic we used to visit. They truly take great care of our fur babies.- Specifics, our last apt was b/c my cat for some reason was over-grooming and Dr. Bedford was very thorough and covered all the bases. Only two days later, my cat's fur is starting to show improvements and she's not irritated! I'd recommend!!

I’ve been looking for a vet for my two dogs, as we were very unhappy with the experience we have had with my previous vet. My dogs typically have massive amounts of anxiety as soon as we enter the door and when the vet walks into the room my dogs want to climb me like a tree. Our first visit at Providence Vet was like night and day! My dogs were nervous at first but after meeting everyone they became more comfortable and actually pretty calm for a vet visit like how we were used to - they were even loving all over Dr. Bedford. The staff in the waiting room were also kind and sweet when my dog Max decided to pee all over the place. Everyone was very kind and answered all my concerns and listened - the team really care about the animals. So glad that we went here and I am glad to have this place as my vet going forward.

I was not happy with my previous vet and the recommendations that they were making to me about my two dogs were very unprofessional and rude considering I have two healthy dogs. After this experience is when I decided to switch to providence they were so kind and willing to explain any concerns I had. Not to mention the incredible pricing! That being said the call with the vet was quite short considering we were talking about two pets that were there for the visit time i just wish maybe she had gone more in depth. Overall a great experience!

Excellent pet care! Dr. Bedford is well qualified and truly cares for the health and well-being of the client. The technicians are awesome! We have three dogs (all rescues), so we spend a good deal of our budget on veterinary care, which has become exorbitant as our dogs age. It is very much appreciated that they're helping me to make sure the oldest dog's shot is administered properly.

I called the vet and they were able to squeeze us in on Thursday and even kept my sweet Kobe there until after I was out of a work meeting. We had such a great experience at this office. I called the office to bring in a new kitten and they got us in within the hour. Upon arrival I called and they came out to the car to take him in while we waited in the car. Not long later the doctor called to discuss treatment and they explained everything clearly and with extreme patience. When everything was completed they returned our kitten and he didn't seem upset. Providence Square Veterinary is by far the best there is in Hampton Roads. Our Chihuahua, Dixie, had surgery there last month, and they were terrific with her! The veterinarian was very thorough with testing and is highly knowledgeable. We will be taking our animals to Providence Square Veterinary from now on!

We are new to the area an needed to get my dog up to date on everything. Even though I had to stay in the car due to Covid while they took him in, the doctor called while they had him back and was very thorough and took the time to carefully explain all of my options and all of her concerns. They were great with my big grumpy dog and were able to do everything without muzzling him, even though I have them a heads up that they may need to. Prices were reasonable and they even gave a military discount. I will be sticking with this practice for all of my veterinary needs.

This place is so nice! I found them randomly as I was looking for a permanent vet for my pup since we moved to VA. They are taking great measures to make sure your pup, as well as you, are safe during these times. Making an appointment was fast and easy. Providence is a great local vet who is very prompt from the moment you show up. For what we had to get done today, I really didn't wait long at all. I got to speak to the vet who was very knowledgeable and explained things to me easily in a way I understood. For what we got done today, I believe it was fairly priced and that your pupper will be in good hands! Highly recommend!

I was very picky on where to take my puppy too for his shots and to establish a new vet. From the get go they were sweet, kind, and caring to my lil maxxis and he loved them all as much as they adored him. The vet sat me down and talked to me about everything regarding him and set me on a good schedule for all his shots. The pricing of it all was fair as well not over priced by any means. I brought my 8 year old dog into see this vet to check out a couple of lumps that are on his rib cage. I asked if I could be present while they did the needle aspirate and blood draw, as I wanted to be sure they did exactly what I come in for and not give him anything I didn’t want done. They were very accommodating and considerate of my needs. Dr Bedford and her vet techs were extremely gentle with Freddy. He hadn’t been to a vet in almost 7 years and he’s socially awkward. I am giving them 3 stars because I have been taking my dog to this clinic since she was a puppy and she is now 13 years old and up until the last 3 years the service has been great. The current staff are pleasant but the current Veterinarian has been dismissive, condescending and at times rude when I am trying to explain what is going on with my precious baby. Recently we have been having an issue with her that is still not resolved even after spending a ton of money. I also have yet to receive a return call from the Vet or the nurse when I called to say the problem had not been resolved and it has been over a month now.

I chose PSVC for my new puppy based on the wonderful experiences my daughter has enjoyed with this clinic over the past 2 years with her huskies and chihuahua. A little sad that I could not come in with my puppy for his first exam and meet his vet personally, but hopefully one day soon life will return to normal. Otherwise, it was a great experience, from start to finish. The staff at PSVC is very kind and professional. I love that i will be issued a pet ID card, also. Special shout out to Cara, who was very sweet performing her "curb service" of collecting Atlas for his visit, and delivering him afterward.

My dog is not great with strangers and I'm always a little on edge, but the folks here are pros! Glad I found them on a whim when we had a bad broken nail and they were the only ones to fit us in same day on Saturday, def got lucky! Today was our first exam with our new puppy, Ocho.From the tech who came out to the car to take boy inside to the receptionist and the Dr, everyone was extremely friendly and reassuring. I see Dr. Scarborough and she's such an interesting and kind woman. You can tell she actually loves animals and they love her right back (same goes for the techs). I've brought my dog in for pretty major dental surgery, my cat for hyperthyroidism and treatment, my wife's dog for his uncanny ability to suicidally swallow things that should never be eaten and also attend this vet for the animals at my work. I've never had a bad experience, a long wait or any issues ever and i come here often for all my animals. It's also totally painless to drop in and purchase my flea preventative without a warning call and every time I'm there they remember my dog by name even before I reach the counter (and even when she isn't with me). Everyone here genuinely cares and that makes such a difference to the animals. My extremely fearful cat has completely different body language at this vet than the many others we tried before finding this practice. I can tell she's not as afraid to be here and since she's 18 years old that makes all the difference in the world. I'm so grateful to everyone here for all the kindness and excellent work they've done. Highly recommend them.

UPDATE: Always have available appointments, women answer the phones are very knowledgeable about your pets as well. The veterinarian takes care of both my fur babies. I have a miniature make dachshund who gets his wellness and also got neutered here. I recently got a Westie and the vet advised me precautionary measure as far as pet insurance, had the time to actually talk with me on the phone with any questions I may have about the breed. Not only did Dr. Bedford diagnose and treat my cat quickly and accurately, but she also noticed another skin condition that was lurking that I had not even noticed! Dr. Gunther was also thorough and kind when treating my dog Peanut-he LOVED her and normally doesn’t do well with strangers! The front and back staff were also kind and courteous-making me feel important and as if I were the only client that day. We were in need of a vet to see our Cane Corso Mix, Wesson, because he had been throwing up his water for about 3 days. When I called our regular vet, they didn't seem concerned at all and said I could either come in and wait 8 hours or wait a month for an appointment. Needless to say, when I called Providence Square Vet, Taylor answered and put me right at ease. She got us in the very same day and actually showed concern for the well-being of our baby boy. Not only that but there really were no wait times when we arrived, and the actual vetrinarian called me afterwards to explain EVERYTHING in detail. The only issue we had was getting him back because the staff wanted to keep loving on him...LOL! Prices were great and the staff was unbelievable. We will not go anywhere else! Dr. Bedford and her team were all very caring and patient with my dog, who can be quite aggressive and hard to handle. Duster isn’t an ideal patient but everyone was very kind to him and understanding of his temperament. Most vets sedate him but I appreciated the fact that they suggested to try treating him without it first and were actually able to get everything done. We were given estimates prior to services being done without asking, which I felt was very considerate. We were kept informed throughout the appointment and Dr. Bedford thoroughly explained the different treatment possibilities. She prioritized what needed to be done without pushing any unnecessary services. We are all very happy with Duster’s care at Providence.

My husband and I took our cat in for an annual check up and we had never been to this vet service before. Once she was inside and had been seen, the doctor called to share that her drug store flea color wasn’t the best and could be toxic to her and that we should purchase a brand she suggested that was nontoxic. Once our cat was brought out, I noticed her collar had been cut off by the doctor so we were somewhat forced to get her a new collar and we weren’t told this would do this to the collar. We were a bit annoyed to have not been informed despite the doctor calling while our cat was being seen (we waited in the car while our cat was seen inside). Additionally, I was looking over our bill after our visit and thought there was an error in the math- there wasn’t and I’m just not the best at math- so I called hoping to just find some clarity, which I said right away; I wasn’t mad, nor was my husband but we were just confused, again, we aren’t math people, but one female employee must have been having a bad day because she was fairly rude to me and kept talking over me and was huffing and puffing. I wasn’t mad but just wanted to explain that I was confused and not assuming any employee had made a mistake but she seemed to have thought differently. Another female employee cleared it but and was kind. However, Fran is very kind and helpful!

The only item better than the prompt and caring Customer Service is the Veterinary Staff. Had an appointment with Dr. Bedford along with her sidekick Vera - they are a dynamic team! They are straightforward in the diagnosis and plan accordingly. Over 2019 and now in 2020, three of my cats came to them for dental surgery / extractions only of which one was a referral from my primary veterinarian. The other two came directly to them. I would not go anywhere else. Dr. Bedford is a superb diagnostician too. She identified asthma in a cat that the other veterinarians failed to diagnosis. The cat is now on an inhaler and his health has much improved.

They stayed late (5:20pm appointment) on a Friday for James and I. The tech was super friendly and helpful, efficient and obliged to come out in the thunderstorm to fetch James. Only 15 minutes later, I received a call from the receptionist, who was informative and sensitive about cost, and wrapped up all billing electronically. I was placed on a brief hold and then spoke with Dr. Bedford about James’ Wellness Exam. She was very knowledgeable and had a thorough synopsis on James. Despite his unfortunate diagnosis as morbidly obese, Dr. B said he was good natured and generally appeared healthy. The difficult part of his prescription will be training the owners to restrict people food to people. He’s such a good boy!! How can I resist those imploring eyes???Anyway, After receiving a battery of tests and vaccines to make him current, James emerged from the clinic in high spirits. It was very convenient and covid restrictions were handled smoothly. We will definitely be back for any future canine medical necessities. Thanks!
