Terrific vet! We just moved here and we’re recommended to this practice. They have a nice office, got us in fairly quickly and the vet, Chris was exceptional. He took the time to go over my dogs care, and my dog loves them … rare! I highly recommend Beach Pet Veterinary! ❤️

I had some issues with my cat not being able to go to the bathroom. I called Beach Pet early this morning and they got me in at 8:30 sharp! I could not ask for better service for my pets. They always explain the ups and downs of any changes in her medications/food. The techs always treat my pets with the utmost care. I have been coming to Beach Pet for well over 10 years, and I could not ask for better care. They are always smiling, friendly, and very knowledgeable for every person who works there. I would give 6 stars if I could. My husband and I recently added a new puppy to our household, and within days, had a major medical crisis on our hands. Our puppy had serious medical issues that were not detected by the breeder (or the breeder's vet), including significant neurological symptoms, a UTI, bladder stones, contracted tendons, and (as Beach Pet discovered) a liver shunt. We've used Beach Pet for routine medical care for our other dog and have always been very pleased, but in this crisis, they went above and beyond. The vets provided excellent medical care and an accurate diagnosis of the primary underlying condition immediately. They respond promptly to messages with urgent concerns, and although our puppy has a long road ahead of him as he gets better, it has made such a huge difference knowing that we have a stellar team of medical professionals providing him with the best possible care-- he will need surgery to repair his liver when he is older, but in the meantime, his symptoms have been all but eliminated under their prescribed regimen. Our pup's care is primarily managed by Dr. Lawrence and Dr. Upchurch, both of whom have made an incredibly difficult situation much easier to cope with. If you are looking for consummate professionals who genuinely care about your pet's wellbeing, this is the veterinary practice for you.

They’ve gone above and beyond for my babies. The vets are kind and knowledgeable. Prices are reasonable. The only reason they didn’t get full stars is because the reception/checkout staff hasn’t been friendly or welcoming. I’m sure they have tough jobs, too, though!

Our cats have received best in class medical care over the course of their long lives thanks to Beach Pet Hospitals team. A few of our favorites Dr.(s) Upchurch, Back, Gagnon and Laurence are brilliant veterinarians, always up to date on the latest medical science and when unavailable, the doctors on duty have similar knowledge and wisdom and treat us with the same respect and care. The Assistants and Technicians are also very knowledgeable, loving and dedicated, handling my beloved family member as one of their very own. Beach Pet is a jewel in our Virginia Beach community and we are lucky to have them.

We have been taking our pups to Beach Pet for years. We also run a local dog rescue in the area and they have always been so accommodating when we have a last minute rescue that needs medical attention. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Andrews last year with an emaciated bait dog we rescued from Richmond. She was so sweet and patient with the nervous dog. She recently treated my personal baby that is a senior with Cushing's. She was so kind to him and I loved how knowledgeable she was about his condition. She was able to prescribe me with medication's to ensure he is comfortable and pain free. After years of paw licking she was even able to recommend something that finally worked to stop the bad habit. We are so grateful to her and the staff at Beach Pet for all they have done and continue to do for our fur babies.

I visited beach pet hospital earlier today for my French bulldog Napoleon . Everyone was so friendly and the vet was very knowledgeable About the particular breed and Was able to give me good advice on what food to feed him. They welcomed Napoleon when he arrived and he took very well to everyone there it seemed as if he did not want to leave. when we go for his next appointment this Wednesday I'm sure he will be excited to return. I highly recommend beach pet hospital.

I love Beach Pet and have told all of my friends to bring their pets here. They are so caring and kind with my dog who is a nervous wreck coming in the doors. I really feel like they genuinely care about her and they do everything they can to make her comfortable with so much positive reinforcement. I’ve seen so many different docs and associates here, and really have had a pleasant experience with everybody. Mary Katherine has been helping with her re-conditioning training for her nails and is so beyond sweet with Ellie. Again, 10/10 recommend this practice due to the staff.

This is an amazing pet hospital. My dog had been attacked is tacked by another dog while he was being watched by someone else. The Penn hospital took me in immediately assessed him And he had surgery that day. They are very reasonable and just the nicest people is the nicest people. I will not go anywhere else again

We love Dr.Imrich! I was so worried about taking a gamble when I moved down here 3 years ago. I did lot's of research. People complained about the price here but for your pets, worth it. I wouldn't want any less. Dr.Imrich is always super transparent, patient with my cats 😅, and he is very informative. I always request him. My one suggestion would be to get the place Fear Free certified (I don't think it is?), and to have a special waiting area for cats. I know that there's a side entrance for cats to use but I wasn't made aware of that until I realized it myself💁 however, they are always patient with my cats. And if I ask to wait in the car, they have no issue with that. We love Beach Pet and I'm so glad I found them.

I loved Dr Upchurch, but had to leave based on wait times...she is overbooked and it can take an hour to see her. I have to work, and cannot spend hours at the Vet for routine care.

This veterinary office is THE BEST!!! I have been taking my pet to this office for the last 3 years. They are so kind and I am never afraid to take my dog here. The doctors are thorough and explain the situation very clearly to you so you understand what is wrong with your pet. ALL of the associates at this office have EXCELLENT customer service skills. Their compassion shines through whether they are on the phone with you or coming to pick up your pet from the car. PERFECT! PERFECT! PERFECT! You will not want to go anywhere else.

Dr. Imrich is absolutely amazing. He is so knowledgeable and really takes his time explaining everything. He listens to your concerns and treats your pets as if they were his own. I don't write reviews unless the service is really bad or really good. Like most pet owners, we have visited different vets over the last 20 years, depending on where we live at the time. We have been looking for a permanent veterinarian since we moved here a little more than a year ago. Our visit to Beach Pet was the best ever. Both the tech and the doctor were exceptional. Patient, great with our rescue dog and actually had a conversation with us that provided excellent information covering everything from inoculations and meds to weight management and exercise. Zero upselling or pushing one product over another, just the upside/downside of each and some background on why somethings work in this climate and some don't. A+

Leilani at the front desk was an absolute angel when I came in earlier today. She was extremely courteous and kind even when I had missed my appointment by an entire hour. Not only that, she was able to find me an appointment a couple weeks out. I've been taking my cranky little feline here for nearly 3 years now and everytime has been nothing but an excellent experience.

I have been a pet owner patient of Beach Pet hospital since 2004. This group of vets & vet techs are the most loving, supportive, and thorough professionals in animal care. I am writing a review today because I had to bring my cat over during the Pandemic and I just want to praise how incredible their team was in taking care of her, their process, and still answering all of my pet parent anxiety questions. My appointment has taken just shy of an hour, but I know my girl is in good hands, loved and cared for, and we have a plan of action moving forward. Special shout out to Gabby & Dr.Bell for making time for their patients and still being so kind when I know they have such a stressful schedule due to safety concerns. Really incredible team here folks, and where I will recommend anyone to go!

We had a scare over the holidays. Our sweet lab / Spaniel mix must have eaten something he shouldn't have. We were traveling and not able to get him the care he needed in a timely way. By the time we got home we were really worried. He got an appointment same day with Beach pet hospital. Did you know they have Urgent Care hours now? Open every evening from 6 to 10. This is a godsend. They're really good with my dog, sit in the floor to greet him, make it as painless as possible for us. My only concern of courses the cost but the quality is excellent and I highly recommend them

We brought our 8 week golden doodle to Beach Pet Hospital for her check up and couldn't have been happier! Dr. Back was very knowledgable and reassuring with answering TONS of our questions. While we were not able to go in with our puppy for her first vet appointment (due to COVID precautions the office is taking), the team took great strides to make sure we were all comfortable and cared for. Wow. Just Wow. Beach Pet blew me away with the way they cared for my cat. He became very ill very fast and I was unable to get answers from another vet hospital that I had been going to for many years with all my babies. I found out in 3 hours what I needed to know, after 2 weeks with no answers from the other vet. Everyone I spent time with at Beach Pet clearly loves animals AND their job. Dr. Upchurch explained things to me in a manner that I could easily understand - even though I was a complete and total emotional mess. I am a fan and recommend Beach Pet to everyone now.

These guys go above and beyond every single time!! I have a very anxious Airedale and a dog aggressive Border Collie/Husky mix and they are so accommodating and sweet with both of my fur pups. I wouldn't go anywhere else!!

The doctors and vet techs are amazing! Our dog is a little scared of the vet but they do so well with him, showing him patience and love. The front desk staff can be a hit or a miss at times. Some are so sweet and helpful while some others act like they’re not happy there and that we’re an inconvenience to them. Overall, love this vet. We had a great experience BPH. This was our first time going there. Our dog has a tumor that needs removal. The staff and vet were very nice and they gave us estimates before doing anything. They never pressured us to do anything we didn't want to do. I was also very happy with the cost. Based on an experience with another vet hospital, I was expecting a ridiculously high estimate. I was very relieved to see their estimate. They are very honest and trustworthy.

We have been clients of Beach Pet Hospital for nearly a decade now. We have had some experiences with other vet offices (due to adopting rescues,etc) and can honestly say Beach Pet is the best ever. We have never met a doctor there that we did not like and trust with our fur babies. Today we came in with our adopted tripod kitty who broke his pelvis. We saw Dr Anderson. She was amazing during a very traumatic experience. She was realistic, informative and also empathetic to us and our kitty. She also sent his xrays to her animal orthopedic friend to get their opinion. Even though we had to put him to sleep I am assured he got the best care possible and it was delivered so compassionately. They also made little clay paw prints to remember him by for our two small children. Love love love Beach Pet Hospital!

I've been to vets before and just felt like they were getting me in and out. These guys really made me and my pup feel special. Very professional and they explained what they were doing and why. They actually pointed out a skin condition on my new puppy that I didn't even notice. I want the best for my new little girl and it was refreshing to know that they wanted the same for her. Beach Pet Hospital is as good as it gets. Our 14 year old dog declined very rapidly and we knew she had to be put down that day if we wanted to avoid her dying in pain. They got us in very quickly and were PHENOMENAL when it came to caring for both us and our dog. They were incredibly respectful and understanding. They put us in a private room to file paperwork and allowed us as much time with our dog as we wanted. The front desk people were unbelievably kind and I can't say enough about Dr. Golden. She was so kind and empathetic and treated us and our dog with extreme dignity. While the experience was heart breaking the staff made our experience as good as it could ever be. I would HIGHLY recommend Beach Pet Hospital to anyone and everyone I know who truly cares for their pets.

I relocated to VB from Richmond. My min poodle has been going to the same vet for 13 years. My poodle has a sensitive gut, so he doesn't like a lot of change with food or medications. Beach Pet stepped right in where my previous vet left off. I appreciate that the physicians and staff allow me time to process information they give me on my poodle. There is no pressure. They are thorough and knowledgable on pros/cons of medications and procedures. Communication and having detailed information on any visits makes the process even smoother. At the end of the day, feeling comfortable your pet is in good care is what matters.

My cat gidget was sick. No one I called could see her. Called beach pet hospital they said might be a wait but they would see my cat. There are no words to say how wonderful this place is! One week ago our dog suddenly seemed really sick. Petsmart (where we had an account) said they were all booked for the week and refused to try and get us in - saying they only do preventative care. My sister takes her cats to Beach Pet and loves it - so we called them up. They took us in immediately. They got on the floor with our dog (Bruce) and even stayed with him in the room while we went to look at x-rays. They loved him from the moment he stepped in there and they had never seen him before. Unfortunately we found out that he had terminal cancer and didn't have much time. The last appointment we had at Beach Pet was only our third but you would have never known. The DR was down on the ground with Bruce, petting him, giving him treats and loving him as we said goodbye. The entire staff was so wonderful and we are kicking ourselves for not taking Bruce to Beach Pet since day one! Any other animal we have will go here. Dr. Imrich even called us at night or the weekends on his time off to see how Bruce was doing prior to his passing. I would recommend them to everyone!

I never took my two dogs to Beach veterinary Hospital. They always went to Acredale veterinarian because I live close to them. It was time to send my 13-year-old German Shepherd off and I called Acredale and they tried to have me come in the next day or come down there for standby. There was no waiting around for this, it had to happen within the next few hours. Acredale wanted me to come in for an exam before they would send him off and charge an exam fee on top of the the other fee. Then they would handle the next step after the examination. He was clearly ready to go and I found that to be very insensitive and not very good business practice on top of getting every penny they could before he passed. Our friend has been going to Beach veterinarian and she also had her last fur Baby sent off there also. I called them they got me in within an hour or two and they were the most wonderful staff and professionals I have ever been around that deal with that kind of stuff. We are now going to start taking our other dog there. They made you feel like they cared about my dog as much as we did. As long as I live in Virginia Beach I will take all my animals to them. Thank you for being caring and understanding and one of the most difficult times of my life.

My black lab went to Beach Pet for almost 13 years, and they are the most compassionate Drs and staff I could ask for. We had to put him down this week, and the Beach Pet staff couldn't have been more professional and genuinely concerned about my dog's comfort, as well as how we were coping with the loss. During his care there, my dog had two surgeries and was treated for cancer - we always received follow-up calls checking on him The front desk staff treated him like a king, and they always knew us by name.

I am not one to write a negative review so I will combine my positive experience with a negative one. Dr. Upchurch is incredible. She was kind and helpful when I put my cat down, she made the experience as good as it could have been. She has since seen my new kitten and been lovely, I specifically requested her for all future appointments. I hate to write a negative review as aforementioned, but Dr. Andrews is not the best at bedside manner. She worried me about a small issue with my new kitten and it scared me, as I had just lost my last cat. In addition, and the reason I am writing this review of her, when my cat soiled his carrier, she wouldn't come near him, and she had the vet tech (Rae, who was wonderful) wrap up his soiled things in a bag and the Vet threw in his soiled paper towels, despite there being a trash can right next to her. I will continue to use this hospital because of Dr. Upchurch and the incredible staff - thank you to all front desk and vet techs, you made challenging experiences positive.

Last time I went in to get a refill prescription for my dog I had to wait in line at the payment desk for 40 minutes. I was skipped three times in favor of other customers (people coming out of rooms). Now this may be policy but I had already been waiting and I'm a customer too. Each time I was told they would be right with me then someone else comes out and I'm kicked back in line again. Finally she got the script which was ready before I got there (called the day before) it literally took her 1 minute to grab it. So I had to wait 40 minutes for someone to grab a piece of paper. otherwise they are great. But every once in a while the office staff seriously drops the ball. This isn't the only incident.

I love Beach Pet!! I took my Lab there after being told by another Doctor that he was dying had about 3 months. I didn't have the money for all that they said was wrong. No one wanted to see my dog Rocky without all the money. Beach Pet promised they would not turn me away. As it turned out none of the things the other vet told me that was wrong with my dog was true. Dr. Vrooman told me he didn't see any of those things the other vet saw and that Rocky still had life in him! A year and a half later Rocky is fine. Dr. Vrooman and Beach Pet are the best!!!!!

Hice purchased the petsmart "wellness" plan and it was worthless when my Weimaraner Lexi got really ill this place was honest and didn't run any un necessary tests like other places do just for profit. They told me if she didnt respond to the treatment that meant best bet was votad put down because she was suffering greatly. At 2 years old I was heartbroken but knew it was true, as she was suffering from a rare immune disorder. Luckily the next day they I picked her up and 5 years later here she is. I dont know what I'd do without her.
