Thank you to the whole staff and Doctor. From the time I made the appointment to the time I left everyone so very nice and professional. I couldn’t get in my fur baby’s normal vet until Tuesday and it was only Friday. I called here and they got me in same day. Doctor was so sweet and was very thorough. I absolutely love this vet and I have been to a lot around the area as well as NH and NC. The staff are very kind and welcoming and Dr. Rottenberk is AMAZING! I also love that they do not force products or constantly try to sell you items/foods . I had told this vet about a negative experience I had had with a previous vet, and he and the assistant were nothing but kind and helpful for every concern I have for my cats, they are knowledgeable about my specific breed’s health concerns and made it clear my cats and their health is their priority, I finally have a vet I feel I can trust! I have been taking my fur babies to Dr. Drake for over 20 years. She has taken such great care of all 4 of my little pomeranians. On this last visit, she moved heaven and earth to accommodate my need to have my little girl spayed asap, due to unforseen circumstances. I have consistently recommended her to friends and would not take my fur babies to anyone else. Office staff and techs are the best, as well. So friendly and accommodating to me and loving towards my babies. Michelle was particularly helpful this week when I needed to get Little Charley in at the last minute.

Front desk staff are always friendly, prompt, and helpful. The technicians and vets also take the time to discuss my pets care, and I never feel rushed like they are trying to get to the next appointment. The follow up calls are also very nice and truly show how much they care about customer service.

The entire staff is extremely nice! Dr Drake takes the the time to explain & discuss everything with you. Great ofc hours also, Open till 6 & open on Saturday till 12:00, unlike my old vet that started closing at 3:00 & is closed on Saturdays when COVID arrived and never re-opened! No Sat hours & closing at 3:00 makes it very difficult for those of that have to work!!

Update - it’s now a year later and I have a bunny and this office STILL is the best vets office I’ve ever been to ❤️ They treat my animals so tenderly every time we visit and with bunnies you have to be very careful because they’re so delicate and even the bunny was happy going there. Several members of my pet family have been patients at Southpaw. While 2 of them had issues requiring specialty care, the diagnosis's i was given were spot on. Unfortunately, the outcomes were not what we wanted but we were ready as the Dr's at Southpaw had already prepared us. Our dog is currently under their care and we still feel the same. Dr. Laura Rottenberk and her assistant were professional, patient and perceptive. They made me feel confident in their opinions and decisions. My little, feral kitten is a stray and weighs only 1.7 lbs. Pepper is blind and Dr. Rottenberk gave me several tips regarding indoor housing and training of a blind kitten.

They did a good job bringing us in. But the cost of the services were fairly high for our budget. They were very sweet but I don’t think I can afford them much longer. Unfortunately pets are not covered under our insurance and that’s just secondary to our family.

He had been in and out of VEG after swallowing a rope toy, causing his intenstines to be obstructed and backing up. Extremely nice staff and very competent doctors. They are fairly busy but that’s just a testament to their quality. The inside has a very friendly, laid back feel and it’s clear they vets are all interested in the care of your pets and have tons of breed specific knowledge. We have moved further north and still take the dogs there for the service and care they receive.

This was my dogs first visit with Southpaw. #1. They answered the phone and DID NOT immediately put me on hold!! Thank goodness!! The staff seem to be happy with their job (not like my last Vet Hospital). Their Vet Tech I spoke with was very professional and paitient in explaining all services my dog received. My dog had alot of work performed...allergy assessment, allergy shot, badly needed ear cleaning for a chronic infection...and so on. It was a costly visit but extremely thorough!! I will definitely be using them again!! 11/2021. This hospital is owned by a corporation as per front office manager, so their prices have skyrocketed. I know this is a current problem everywhere these days. The cost of having checks on my dog who is prone to UTI's, causes me to decide between purchasing half my groceries or getting her urine tested and her antibiotics! It's too bad that Vet's have to sell out to corporations. The dollar is stronger than that of the love of caring for people's pets.

Even with operating under COVID Protocols (Curbside service), my Finn was in good hands from start to Finn-ish! Dr Drake came out and talked to me after her check up. I have used Southpaws for more years than I can count and have always gotten great service and even better care. When my hounds have suddenly gotten sick, I have always been able to drop them off for same-day work-in services. Will not use another vet service.

Most of all, the veterinarians at the practice are very knowledgeable and skilled and do what is best for your pet. They don't try to upsell services your pet does not need (or that won't help). Dr. Almengual (we call her Dr. A because I can’t pronounce the last name 😃) is OUTSTANDING. I can’t say enough wonderful things about her. She is always available to answer any and all of my crazy dog questions and is a wealth of information. Southpaw Animal Health provides exceptional care. From the individuals who answer the phone to the techs in the rear, they’re all phenomenal. We’ve never gone to SAH and felt they are performing unnecessary procedures or that their care is driven by money. My dog Aegon recently saw Dr. John. I assumed she had fractured or tore a ligament in her leg. Dr. John assured me that she had a sprain. Unless the issue persisted, there was no need for an x-ray. I appreciated his candor. You will not be disappointed with the care your pet(s) receives at SAH.

I love this place. I've known Dr V since 1987 and he was the reason I went there, but all the vets are amazing there. Dr Drake and Dr Denajska are so great also. I completely trust them. They are a bit pricey and unfortunately don't yet offer discounts to multiple pet households, but they also don't do unnecessary tests and don't pile on unnecessary diagnostics. They are compassionate, friendly and very competent, and most of the staff is extremely friendly. Can't imagine going anywhere else.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. I took my Jack Russel for his yearly checkup and vaccines. I was very impressed with Dr. Dejnozka. He gave my dog an examination like he’s never had in the past. He’s very caring and passionate about his work. You can see he loves his work. Even though we are all going through a difficult time right now, Finn still needed to have his annual check. Southpaw made it very easy by getting him from our car and taking him inside. Although he wasn't too excited about going into the vets, the vet tech was very patient and he made it inside. They did everything they needed to do for his check and called us to let us know our boy was ready. It went very well and we appreciate their help in getting Finn's checkup. Dr. Denoska was very thorough. He did a quick sonogram of my kitty's belly to rule out fluid, and the charge was only $15 for the sonogram. He ruled out the bad diagnosis (FIP) and explained why. He ruled out worms and explained why. He said I have a fat kitty and gave me ways of firming up his stools, plus diet suggestions. I feel confident in his diagnosis, and the total charge, including sonogram and fecal exam, was only $109. I will return to this vet. BTW the office staff stopped vacuuming because my kitty was terrified at the sound and started shaking.

My 10 lb Schnauzer, Stella, stopped jumping on my lap. Dr. Drake diagnosed an issue with a disc in her spine. Stella is now on 2 pain meds and an anti-inflammatory and confined to crate rest for 4 to 6 weeks and 5 minute walks to relieve herself. She was reluctant to eat and drink at first. She now is eating canned food normally and drinking no salt chicken broth when offered. Let's see what a few more weeks brings. I am very pleased with not only Dr. Drake and Dr. Dejnozka professional and thorough but also the staff that answers the phones and their helpfulness. In addition the techs get 5 stars too!
