Excellent service! Great communications with staff! Had 2 Rescue dogs neutered and one pup had an "Cherry Eye" growth removed at the same time. They listened to all my concerns and gave me a detailed explanation to answer my questions. Easy check in and thorough explanation of how the surgery went and how to do aftercare & medications when you checked out! Friendly staff and clean facility. Highly recommend!

This review is very late & I apologize for that. Our puppy, who we got from Heidi’s Legacy, was neutered at this facility. I was comfortable from the time I arrived until the time I picked him up, that I had made the right decision in taking him there. The neutering was included in our adoption fee but I was very hesitant & was going to use our vet, who we have been with for 20 years. He even assured me that The Humane Society would be a good place to have the procedure done and he was correct. The staff was sweet, kind and helpful. It was scary dropping him off but when I picked him up, he was medicated but fine. He was chipped at that time and I came home with a bag of pain meds, antibiotics and a big cone of shame. I will be taking our new (1 year old female) there for spaying, as well. I was a little confused on the tattooing that is placed after sterilization and when I contacted the humane society, they were very quick in responding.

We took our cat here. The place was very clean & the staff was very friendly & professional. The prices were very good which is why I really came here because regular vet's charge an arm & leg for anything they do & I just can't afford that. My only issue was the wait. We had an appointment at 1:30 & even though they considered her a fast track because we didn't go back with her. We were there for about an hour & 45 minutes. They said it was because their short on doctor's. But, my cat was nice & calm when she came out of there. Everyone was really great!

I liked the place offering me to have a different room to keep my dog quieter. I liked the detailed information about the visit. I intend to go back. Down side it was quite a wait. But it was worthy.

What they do for animals is amazing! Adopted a kitten here with bad slice in neck from imbedded collar they had taken great care of him and he was so happy! He’s doing wonderful at home! We named him Cairo and the dogs adore him! Couldn’t recommend supporting this place more

I took my cat Plex for the 1st time today, my appointment was at 1:30 but I didn't get in until 2:30, and wasn't finished till 3:15. Staff was very friendly. They passed out snacks to the waiting room since they were backed up. There prices are so reasonable. It was clean cut and to the point. I'm happy with the care I received. I will be going back again. They also take the Fetch pet insurance, make sure you ask for a SOAP form from the doctor to turn in for reimbursement from Fetch if you have it.

This was a really great experience for our dogs. Especially our pitbull. He gets very excited and wants to play and jump on everyone when he's around new people/ other animals and because of that its hard to take him anywhere but especially the vets office. They handled him very well and he received everything he needed and the price wasn't bad either. We were very pleased. 🙂

I liked everything about it except the wait time but I understand they have clearly mentioned it in their website because of the low prices they offer. Also, there's a difference between the fees you pay if you choose to go inside the exam room with your pet or not which I'm not sure is why, probably to speed up the process. Other than that I liked it, had no issues and will go again.

The facility is large and comfortable for the pets and their owners. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Our tech and doctor were very good to our dog and that made the examination less stressful. The outside grounds are kept well and the water mister is a plus.

It was better than anticipated. Im so glad the shelter is separate from the hospital, its really a good look. The staff were friendly and courteous. The facility was cleaner and more breathable than some pet owners homes. The prices I considered them reasonable in comparison to some pet hospitals. They do try a little upselling, but a simple no suffices.

It is really nice. Staff is always great but the new building is so nice and plenty of space for the animals. Really happy with the outcome. Cats have big playrooms. They have play rooms for the dogs without having to take them outside. They did a great job. Plus the customer service is great too.

Best place to go for any kind of care. Walk in are welcome even though there might be a wait. The prices are great! This abandoned beauty came to me for help and after her exam, labs, vaccinations, medication and all it was $156. Now she has her shots, flea and tick meds for 3 months, heart worm meds for 6 months, meds for her ear infection that stays in and works for 2 weeks so no need to fight her daily and 2 pills for discomfort. Now she’s healthy and happy that she’s indoors and officially adopted!!! Thank you so much to the entire staff!!!

I am giving this place 3 ⭐️. One for a clean waiting area and one for the volunteers and one because I think it has a good overall purpose. If you think you are going to be close to seen on time, guess again. They tell you at check in it may be a lengthy wait if you would like to go back with your pet. Even if you have an appointment and check in well before that appointment time. Then they offer you the fast track, explaining your pet will go back, get his or her treatment and come right back out. So, sure why not? I have a good pup who has done this before. Well, it turns out “Fast track” is a joke. I didn’t realize until I got home today that they charge you a fifteen dollar fee. Even if you have a scheduled appointment, made an entire month in advance. They ask you if you would like to be fast tracked, obviously 🙄 people will say yes if you don’t tell them there is a fee. It is on the print off paper. I just wanted to be seen at my scheduled appointment time! I should have asked for the break down price before I paid, but I trusted the workers to charge me only for the the boosters that were done today and the flea meds that I requested. Unless you want to dedicate a whole day to a vet visit, I would not recommend this place. The only nice people are the vet techs that walk your dog back out to you and when you check out. The first visit we waited 3 hours!!! We had an appointment then as well. We had an appointment today and the process took an hour and half from check in to check out. Once your furry friend is done they take about half an hour to call you up to be checked out. The inconvenience is not worth the lower prices. Overall irritating service and the front will lie to your face to have you sit down and keep waiting when you ask where you are on the list to be called back. Good luck if you go.

My overall experience here was great. The nurses are extremely kind and helpful and do the best they can to assist people quickly. I got two of my rabbits spay and neuter done here for a total of $300 and the surgery was very well done. They included all the necessary medications and post-surgical e-collers for the bunnies and gave me an extensive post-surgical care guide. My rabbits have recovered well and are much happier. I will definitely be getting my other rabbits spayed here as they have an unbeatable price in the Tampa Bay Area. My only complaint is that they are horrible at organizing the pick-ups and discharge paperwork. I was handed the wrong paperwork and waited nearly an hour for it. There were at least 50 other people there and no where to sit. I wished they would individually call people in groups to come pick up their pets rather than have every pet parent arrive at once for pick-ups. All in all my experience was great and I recommend here before anywhere else. They also have extremely nice facilities which reassures that they are good at their work.

I am so happy with my experience here today! April and the rest of the staff were absolutely amazing! My dog does not care for other dogs and the place was packed today! April went above and beyond to accommodate my shepherd and I today to make sure my dog had his own space! The prices are very reasonable. The place was clean. The staff is wonderful, kind, friendly, and professional. I sadly had to put one of my cats to sleep because she had gone into heart failure. The vet was so empathetic and also honest, which I appreciated. The whole staff was so supportive and compassionate. I didn't feel pressured or judged. It made a very difficult time just a bit easier and I will always be grateful for that. If you have a pet emergency I 100% recommend you take them here.

10/10 recommend this place a thousand times! We live far and always travel to this specific location to have our rescues seen for the last 4 years. We have 4 (3 dogs + 1 cat) total and it can be intimidating to take them all at once. I arrived, checked in, and was able to sit in my car and wait. They called me when ready and came out to get each baby individually. It was SO INCREDIBLY kind and helpful. I was nervous about taking all 4 at once alone and they made it so easy and hassle free. I felt 100% comfortable letting them go alone with the tech. He was patient and kind and even walked each dog for me. I was in and out in no time! I am really grateful for this experience. I love my cats and hate vet bills. This place is the best! We don’t have $500 to drop every time we do the vet for our cats. The Humane Society of Tampa runs a beautiful, clean, professional animal clinic here and I am VERY grateful for them. It’s affordable and they genuinely care about the pets. Be advised that you will wait, and wait and wait….and they’re always behind by an hour. When I have a cat appointment I carve out the whole morning on my calendar because it’s always 3-4 hours to go when all is said and done.

I was a little leery of using a Humane Society for my services, but this little lady was not a planned addition to our home so we needed to be cost effective. I'm from Chicago, and the Humane societies there are less than stellar. I was SO pleasantly surprised by this place!! The building doesn't wreak of piss and shame, it's in amazing shape, it has plenty of space in the waiting area, and the staff is incredible. They didn't refer to my cat as "your cat" or "your pet", but instead "your baby". It's a small touch, but after being so anxious to get her home it was comforting. It's now been 1 week since her spay, and she doesn't even seem to notice her new haircut lol. I was less than thrilled about their dewormer product choice (topical?? Really?? Ugh), but for the price I can't complain, honestly.

Very busy. Helpful and caring staff. Has many programs for the 2 and 4 legged guests. We helped a friend with puppys. Our puppy had 12 puppies 1st year. They checked them gave us food asst. to be adoptive parents for 8 weeks chipped gave shots will fix and find them all good homes. I miss them but best outcome.

They saved my cat's life!!! I took her to this center trying to figure out why she was breathing so heavily. They performed Thousands of dollars worth of lab tests and x rays and gave my 8 year old cat medications. We didn't have to pay a dime because of people who donated to me ON SPOT!!! I'm so so so grateful for the care my cat received! I will NEVER go anywhere else but here to routine care or urgent care for my cat! This staff TRULY cares about animals!

I had a great experience at the animal hospital today. My boy was due for his annual vaccines and HW test! I am actually a technician myself and am very skeptical about who deals with my animals. I was very Impressed by how kind the staff was from the ladies that greeted me in the front , to the technician who took me to the room and even the nice lady that checked me out ! I have been going here for about 10 years. My only negative is the wait is far too long. Even with an appointment, I had to wait an hour and a half to be seen then it took forever to check out. The doctors are knowledgeable and the staff are friendly. The prices are affordable. They do some minimal grooming items as well.

Ive always been impressed by the care here. The main downside was that i typically had to wait long time even with appt. Another issue is that their ultrasound machine was down for long periods of time. Ive had dental cleanings, general exams, and trouble shooting done here. The vets always have been kind and competent. I got my dogs from HSTB and donate to this institution when i can. Sometimes it can be hard to get a timely appt since they are in such high demand, so if you need good, affordable vet care, another non profit option in the area is Harmony. Overall, i highly recommend the Humane Society clinic and cant thank them enough for all theyve done for my dogs.

All in all it was a great experience. We checked in for our appointment and waited for one of the techs to come get our dogs for their rabies shots etc. Adam who greeted us at door was very attentive to the fact that we were waiting for a while and asked what time the appt. was for and said he would check to see how much longer it would take for tech to come get our 2 pups. The people that took care of my baby Gigi were awesome. The facility was clean and tidy and great social distancing. The wait time was six hours. I didn't have an appointment(very difficult to get an appointment) so the waiting was expected and I was willing because my fur baby was very sick. However, what I didn't expect was such high prices. It's really not any cheaper than any other vets in the area, but the people who work there do take excellent care of your pets. I have a senior chihuahua with lots of reoccurring health issues, and I wish that the prices were more affordable. So, only three ⭐️ due to the waiting and lack of affordability. Otherwise, great services if you're not on a budget and have the time.

I love this place! The facilities are clean and nice, the staff is friendly, and very reasonably priced. I’ve taken my cat to get spayed with them and for other medical visits when sick. Nothing but positive experiences. Only thing is of course is the high volume they gain from being so great & reasonably priced. You have to make appointments pretty far in advance unless you get lucky with a cancellation. Haven’t tried walk-in’s yet but I will be soon since I just saved a new kitten. Definitely the place to take your pet!

Normally I would have left a 5 star but recently I went there hoping my dog could receive his vaccines after calling them for a month and leaving messages that no one bothered to answered. So I arrived there and they had no space open for my dog wich I understand but the guy told I should have called I told him I have been doing it for the last month then he says you should have left a message wich I replied I left 3 no reply back in a whole month. I understand covid is still a huge issue but a whole month without answering back to your customers is a bit much.

The only reason I rated four stars is because I am not sure what has or hasn't changed in the past few years since I had been here with my dogs who were both spayed and neutered here (for a lot cheaper than most other vets you'll go to) and the experience went very smoothly. They have everything explained on paper and give you the proper recovery medication and advice before you go home with your dog/cat. Prior to the pandemic, they used to get very busy since they allowed walk-in's, which are now not allowed anymore. I think this is a lot better to do, in my opinion, especially during the pandemic. Don't worry too much about bringing your dog/cat for surgery here because trust me, they are very experienced from what I remember and have done it so many times before since this is such a popular animal hospital (especially being right next to the humane society itself, of course). I have also brought my dog here for other medical reasons, and everything went smoothly.

The clinic is nice, staff friendly, cost reasonable...BUT, the wait time is way too long. Appointment times mean nothing here. Regardless of what time your appointment is, you will wait minimum an hour before being seen, often times much longer than that. I have sat waiting to pick up animals after surgeries for TWO hours. I have waited for my pets to be seen for treatment over two hours....and then once seen, I have to wait again to be checked out. They will bring back your animal to you, and then another wait cycle begins to check out. This makes absolutely NO sense! Why can't they bring the animal back to me and then check me out immediately? Their process is not efficient and does not work. What would make this clinic great is better management. I do appreciate their lower costs and the valuable services they provide our community, however, I have never, EVER had to wait so long at any other vet I have patronized. Please, HSTB, hire a better clinic manager!!! You really need to overhaul your process and procedures to become more efficient.

I wanted to share my story - about 2 weeks ago I had contacted an other vet we use to go to that Dr. Kushubar was at, but he had relocated to this pet hospital- he was one Dr I have faith in when it came to surgery for my meme. When I found out he relocated I called this place immediately- I had spoke to a nice lady on the phone and had gave me an email to send my records over to another doctor named Jamie Gibbs. Jamie Gibbs had responded back about an hour later with Great concern about meme! I felt comfortable immediately with them! Now they are a little far for me, but I was willing to take the drive since I was picky in regards to doctors! Jamie Gibbs had emailed me back and forth for the past two weeks- unbelievable service!! A+ so needless to say I will definitely be coming to this vet down the road.. you could definitely see that they care about animals and they’re not there just for the money!! I wanted to say thank you so much Jamie you were amazing!

They were very nice and they seem to do a pretty good job with my cats neuter. My only problem was that I was there for an hour and a half waiting to pick my cat up, after they told me to be there before 5:00. And when I got my cat home his cage was filled with pee along with his cat bed and he was soaked in it.

This place has been the best! Staff is wonderful, kind and knowledgeable. I came in with my 2 year old dog who was having issues for about 2 nights. Prior to coming to the humane society of Tampa bay I had been given the run around by other clinics. Once I arrived at the humane society they attended to my sick baby immediately and answered all my questions. My dog ended up having to have an ultrasound as well as emergency surgery in order to get her back to good health. Surgery is not something I had saved up for or the means of paying for on short notice, luckily the staff here was very accommodating and we were able to come up with a payment plan that worked. Again, I cannot thank the staff enough for all the hard work, dedication and patience they put in to caring for my sick pup. I whole-heartedly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for dedicated care for they fur baby.

I arrived at 8:30 and waited six hours as a walk-in for my cat's eye infection. It took less than five minutes to assess it was indeed an eye infection. And then another thirty minutes for them to fill the prescription. The cost was reasonable, that's the positive here. And my cat's health is important too. Update 6/1: I wanted to note that I received a message from them that they are no longer accepting walk-ins.

Very easy process. First appt to give our kitty an exam and utd on shots. Spay day was easy. Easy to check her on and out afterwards. They handled an unruly customer mad over masks very appropriately. They take covid safety seriously. I felt comfortable with my princess in their hands. I adopted a dog at the Humane Society today and it had a little stomache issue. I called and they told me to bring her right in. She needed meds and a special diet. Afterwards they told me there would be no charge for anything. I will be going back on a regular basis for all my veterinarian needs. Went back for her 6 month HW check up. She is " healthy as a horse" . Not my words but the vets words. Will keep going back for her regular check ups. Again the visit and tests were free since she had her treatments for HW there. Love the place. As they say " Don't shop. Adopt!!!"

This Humane Society clinic is a godsend it is a place where they appreciate what a mascot is for the average person and how meaningful that relationship is. When my Mima was treated and neutered they took good care of her I met her doctor and the nurses whom reassured me that she was ok and they gave excellent instruction for recuperation. The cost was much lower than the Vets office, and they checked for several other things at a very fair cost. If they weren't so far from me they would get my business.

I came to get my dog neutered. When I came in, in the morning to drop my dog off, it was a little bit hectic with lots of people and dogs and cats, however the staff was organized. The facility is very clean and updated. They have treats available for your pet and even sell food and treatments for your pets. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They took great care of my dog and provided great follow up instructions. I highly recommend coming here.

The first time we came we were just a walk in (and it was peak hours) so the wait was 2 hours. We made an appointment and came back and they took us back almost immediately. The staff were so friendly and caring to our dog, it made a huge difference in his comfort level. Plus, it is WAY cheaper than any other vet in town. We will be coming here for everything!

I have been there twice when my yellow lab needed x-rays and again when he needed an ultrasound. My first visit was as a walk in as I did not have an appointment and the visit was very long but on my second visit I had an appointment and the wait was no longer then if this had been at my own vets' office. However, my review is not about the waiting time it is more about the personnel at this clinic. The staff is awesome, from the first associates you meet upon arrival that checks you in, the people who escort you and your dog to a room and the doctors. They truly love what they are doing and it shows in how they interact with your pet(s). I would highly recommend this clinic for its' caring staff and reasonable fees.

The Humane Society Vet of Tampa has made it possible for me to comfortably afford taking care of my pet. Great prices but you definitely pay with your time. The waits are a lot longer and walk-ins could possibly not receive help the entire day. It's time I'm willing to put in for the cost reduction. The staff is always been wonderful. This place is best for your basics if you cannot afford to go anywhere else.

Although appointments are recommended it's difficult to make one over the phone due to staffing issues. They do accept walk-ins but you will probably end up waiting a long time and need to get there early. I tried walking in the first day 3 hours before closing and was turned away and ask to make an appointment, which I did. I was able to get in the next day and the staff was much more helpful and polite on the day of my appointment. There wasn't a long wait at all and the veterinarian was courteous and professional. All in all it's a decent place to take your Pat and very affordable.

Clean... good seating... lots of parking. Flexible appointment times and the usually get u in and out. They have an Express option if its routine and don't need to see or speak to the doctor (i mean vet... no I'm not a dog)

I have taken my pets to this health center for about 4 yrs +. Highly recommend taking your furry friends here. I know the wait is long and very troublesome but it is worth it if you want your pet to be treated for such a great price. I have been to other vets and clinics when I first got my puppy but I immediately went back to the Humane society of Tampa Bay's clinic. My tips are to opt in for the fast service if you are getting a routine check up. If you can get there early the better, especially for walk-ins. If you are done with your visit, set up the appointment there as the clinic is super busy.

I would really like to give 5 stars but I just cannot do it. There was a short waiting period for me compared to most other comments (30 mins). My complaint is that the facility was quite dirty for a health clinic. The room they brought us into for my dog's evaluation was filthy. My pup will eventually need surgery and I'm honestly unsure if I should bring him into this facility for fear of possible infection due to the unsanitary appearance of the room. I'm just hoping the operating room isn't as bad. Overall, the staff was quite helpful and nice but I found the vet to be condescending during our brief interaction.

We have taken our newly adopted kitten here twice now. The staff are great and show caring attitude towards their clients. Cats usually get really stressed at a vet but not here. He gives kisses. I would make one suggestion for new clients. Go online to their website, fill out the online form and you will get a call back. Our request for an appointment was returned the next day. If your pet is really sick, walk in. You don't have to have an appointment. Hope this helps.

MAKE an appointment; you will still be waiting LONG. But at least you'll be seen eventually I'm sure. Walk ins can take over 4 hours to see you. The prices and service is GREAT if they can just fix their wait time they will be amazing. Benches are way too hard to have someone sitting and waiting for 4 hours. Even my dog was about to be like... "Daddy forget about my medicine, I'd rather die than wait this long" it's pretty brutal.

Came in without an appointment to get my cat a general check-up only took about an hour and 15 for them to see her at about 2 to get out which I see is reasonable for coming in unannounced. Got her rabies and other vaccinations didn't think anything was wrong with her but she has a nasal infection that I didn't know about but suspected. So got meds for that and some ear cleaner. Only spent about 80 bucks for all of that, any other vet for what I had to do for her would have been at least a 3 to 4 hundred.

Most affordable place to go. Staff seems really nice. I would love to give 5 stars but when you make an appointment a week in advance it shouldnt take 2 and a half hours to be seen for a rabies shot that takes 5 minutes. You definitely pay with your time

The price is alot cheaper than the local vet. Unfortunately, the speed of service is 10x slower. I arrived for a 1145 appointment a little early. I wasn't seen until 1245 and I didn't leave the facility until 215. I normally pay $200 per pet for the annual annual health assessment and shots. At the humane society I payed $85 for each of my dogs.

The vets here are very knowledgeable and friendly. Prices are also very good compared to many private vets. I'd say the biggest issue with the humane society is they are almost impossible to reach via phone, so it's incredibly difficult to schedule your visit. They are also incredibly busy so waiting 3+ hours is not abnormal. They also charge a ridiculous extra $10 to see any dog that isn't neutered. So I'm paying extra because my dog is pure bred and we may breed him and I'm penalized for not cutting off his testicles. Hope they change that crazy rule in the future.

I just wanted to say for someone on a budget such as myself looking for a good vet clinic to go to, this is by far the BEST place in Tampa. The doctors are so kind and knowledgeable, giving advice where really needed, and not just trying to squeeze every penny out of you. Now, I understand the wait time is the biggest problem with this place, but, there's a reason why...IT'S BUSY ALMOST ALL THE TIME AT ALL TIMES OF THE DAY. So have patience for the staff and they'll return the favor with a smile and loving care for your animal. Bless everyone that works hard to keep this place running smoothly! (P.S. If you come in as a walk-in right when they open (8:30am), you'll have a good chance of getting your pet in very quickly, but it just depends on how their appointment times are running.)

We've been here multiple times for our boys. Our experiences have been great except for the last few visits. One of the newer doctors manhandled our sick cat then got snappy because I questioned her behavior. We were desperate because our boy wasn't feeling the best so I didn't push the issue. At the follow up visit, we told the check-in staff what happened during the previous visit and stated we did not want her seeing our baby. It was explained to us that we would probably have to wait longer until a different doctor was free to which we (1) stated our understanding and (2) agreed to wait. Despite waiting the extra time, I'm sure you can guess which doc was assigned to us. I was not in the room at the time and the exam was over before I could get back to the room. But then they did the same when my husband took our baby for his final follow up. We have not been back since.

Don't listen to these people complaining about the place because they had to wait an hour. They are great and stress is understandable when there's 100 appointments they must get through in a single day. You want to be treated immediately? Take your pet to an emergency clinic where you will be charged a lot more for the same procedure. My brother's dog had a miscarriage and we took it to an emergency clinic. They gave us an estimate for surgery of $3,900.00 plus around $350 for medicine. They also mentioned it could be more depending on how the surgery goes. We took the dog to these guys and they charged us $284 for EVERYTHING including the medicine. In my book they saved a dog's life that day and this is what they do on a daily basis. So stop complaining because you had to go to work so you waited 2 weeks to treat your dog or because they don't have a five star lounge with leather seats. These people save animals for next to nothing. Try volunteering every now and again instead of complaining because they were slow.

My neighbor's dog he has a little Datsun and the poor thing was ate up with sand fleas he wasn't faking and the poor man just lost this roommate he passed away from cancer and he has no money he barely was keeping the trailers electricity on so I asked him to call the Humane Society and he did and they had a spot to feel today and we made it there at 8 in the morning and the bill was 1150 dollars and there's no way we could pay that so we told him we didn't have no money he said this ride is down Asurion paper and my neighbor did his name is Dan and they let us have all the medicine Butterfree we didn't pay no bill that was a most generous thing anybody could have done right before Christmas oh thanks the Humane Society they are the best and Merry Christmas

These folks are great. I bough my dog at the HSoTB and decided to use their vet services. They cost much less than private vets around my house and provide just as good care. Their medications are much cheaper too. They are open Sundays and if you don't mind waiting for someone to call you back you can get an appointment and bypass all the long lines. They also have express service. Love them!!!

My dog recently had surgery at this hospital. I was very nervous about the procedure and the recovery involved. Everything was done very well and her recovery has been wonderful. I have not had any problems at all. The one thing that needs improvement is the wait times. Even with an appointment, there is a significant wait- first to be seen and then to pay for your visit.

I have always come to this vet because they have treated my fur babies wonderful... except when I was given the news that my senior, who passed away, that she needed to be put down. She was in liver failure and, of course, I was distraught. But the way they treated me afterwards - rushing me to make a decision, I did not appreciate. It made me feel horrible and I never wanted to come back. But I have, because of the quality care. I just will always have issues with the vet techs doing that to me. With that said, i used laps of love to help me pass my dog onto the next world - NOT this animal health clinic.

My baby Bella was bit by a friend’s dog when we evacuated for Hurricane Irma as a group so as soon as we got home I came for a walk in appt. She was seen really quickly and treated very well, and for all of her follow ups we have gotten the same experience except sometimes it takes 3-4 hours even with an appointment. Still, it’s SUPER affordable veterinarian care from people who clearly love animals, so I will wait patiently so they can serve the most animals with the time they have.

They are very helpful and gentle with the animals. The place gets crowded, but if your dog is skittish you can sit outside with them where it's less crowded. The clinic is very clean and has a few water bowls for your waiting pets. Expect barking and excited whimpers, you can only keep the dogs so quite when there are so many new smells and faces. The wait will be long for walk-ins so make sure you bring something to keep yourself occupied and maybe a little something for your companion as well. They also have a small play area for small children, but make sure your child ask before petting anyone elses pet. All and all I highly recommend going here for all pet medical needs.

We tried for over a week to make an appointment to get my kitten her shots. No body would answer the phone or even call back. So we had to do a walk in since there is a small window to get her shots in. Well we sat for 3 hours waiting to get her shot. While there we did witness a woman rush her dog in and it did die, but the staff was quick to help try anything to save it. I applaud them for emergencies like that. What is unacceptable is hoe long you have to wait after your appointment to even pay! They have to call your pets name and that took 30 more minutes. We could of left and not paid a dime, many people might do that and that's why prices have been rising here.

Walked in Saturday morning 8/20 at 8:37 (they open at 8:30) with my 2 pups, no appointment. The line was long to check in and the waiting room was pretty packed but within a few minutes I was checked in and waiting for my pups to be called back. 40 mins later they were called back (fast tracked them) and 5 minutes later they were back. 10-15 minutes later we were checking out. All in all it took right about 1 hour for the whole process. For it being a super packed Saturday, no appointment, and 2 dogs I couldn't have asked for better service and turnaround. Prices can't be beat either.

If you make an appointment you don't wait as long. The staff is very friendly and it'll be even quicker if you're just getting vaccines and your pet has no health concerns then you can do the fast track option instead of waiting for a room to free up.

They were kind n helpful except the lady who checked to see if my fur babies heart stopped and said ' yes shes gone with a smile on her face. but I'm disgusted with the fact that it takes 70 bucks to kill my fur baby but 2000 bucks for an MRI elsewhere that could save pets lives. It's so easy n quick to recommend killing n that disgusts me. They should also make the cold uninviting room where my little fur baby was euthanized, more warm n inviting. Less scary. Something to consider.

I have been coming to the humane society since i moved down here from ct 4 years ago. They are ok when it comes to appointments, however if you go in for a walk in, it is a bit rediculous. Sundays are supposed to be for walk ins only. It states this on the website. I arrived as a walk in at 7:15 am and was the 3rd person waiting in line outside. When they opened the doors i was the third person registered as a walk in. I waited until 9:45 and was still not called, as everyone that was before me and after has been getting called back to be seen and some already had left. I went to the counter and told the lady that i was the third person here this morning at 7:15 and i was still waiting. She gave me a slight attitude and said she would check. When she came back she told me that there were a few appointments that were scheduled and i would be the next walk in to be called in. WHAT? no appts on sundays, so the website says.... Anyways, i thanked her and sat down. When we got called in 20 minutes later i asked the vet tech about sunday appts and he said appts are after 1:00 on sundays. So, i was lied to, as well as everyone else who showed up expecting to be seen in a timely fashion as a walk in. I have had a few bad experiences like this, therefor i am done with this clinic. I will drive a bit farther to get better service. Not to mention i took my kitty in for a cold and because the doc couldnt hear to good over his purring she wanted to do a chest xray! So they wanted me to spend more money when it wasnt really nessessary.....

The staff at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay was very friendly, professional and helpful during the recent adoption of our kitty. The process itself couldn't have been easier nor handled better and we were impressed with the care that was put into our adoption. From shots to registration to pet insurance, they handled all of the initial paperwork for us and had it ready to go when we picked up our kitty. The only downside that we found was that the shelter was so popular on the weekend we were there that the wait to adopt a pet was in excess of an hour on both Saturday and Sunday -- but I guess that's a good problem to have!

And when it was mentioned, the staff lady proceeded to be rude because she needed her mask on, but didn’t cover her nose. I don't understand why people are complaining about AHC. I went in last week, as a walk-in. I expected a wait as a result of that. I didn't wait as long as I had anticipated. I took my dog for a tooth cleaning and they took 10+ of her teeth out without notifying me. When I ask why a "witness" to the surgery said that it was to get rid of bacteria, not because of cavities no other reason, the he said, she"ll get use to it. My dog is in major pain, her chest is bruise and she has no teeth. who ever did "the surgery" never came pout to talk to me. All I wanted was to give her a cleaning. This is awful. I want to make it clear that I have always supported the humane society as a shelter and I don't want to discourage anyone from helping homeless animal, but for the clinic I WOULD NOT recommend taking your pet because I believe unprofessional or inexperience techs are using our pets to practice. Beware! UPDATE: my pet is doing better she adjusted to her lost. But is hard to see her not be able to eat the same food she use to. Any way the good news is that I received a call from the Humane society location manager or boss who apologized in a very honest way and didnt try to cover up the fact that there were things she didn't understand either but most importantly she informed me that since this incident new rules have been putted into place including that the pet owner must consent to multiple extractions before it happens. She assure me that this is not a common practice and they will do the necessary to continue improving. I do want to make clear that I encourage supporting any organization that helps animals including this one. Bad things can happen anywhere, we just have too be proactive and not stay silent when something happens so that it may be improve as it did in this case.

Appointments run over so be prepared...but any emergency vets office has the same issue...sometimes walkins are there because their dog is DYING....it might take a minute to care for them and if it was your pet you would want the same...I was in for a regular appointment and sure I waited a very long time....but for two dogs i paid less than a hundred bucks...the exam was super thourough..the staff is AMAzing. They were so respectful of everyone...(and personally having a passion for animals and having worked in a vets office that can be hard to do when someone is making poor choices in caring for their pet..) Here nothing but compassion, great care, positivity and education. These are great, kind people giving their hearts out to pets AND the people that love them.

I brought my mama cat and three of her kittens in to be spayed, using the Hillsborough County discount voucher program. In the pre surgery exam, they discovered that one of the kittens had an umbilical hernia and called me immediately to get my okay to repair it at the same time as the spay. Both procedures were covered, so there was no extra charge for the hernia repair. As they were healing, the mama cat had some swelling, and they saw her right away for no charge. All she needed was some antibiotics, and she got better right away. She was a former feral cat that I took in, and she was terrified at the hospital. The vet and vet techs were amazing with her, reassuring her, and telling her how brave she was while they examined her. I'm sure that their demeanor benefitted me as much as it did her! Overall, a very good experience. I definitely trust them with the care of my furry babies!

The Doctors and the entire staff genuinely care about dogs and cats. I have both. The Doctors were gentle with my cat and Chihuahua, and the Doctors helped both my animals remain calm during the exam and shots. I love this place. From the time you're greeted at check-in until check-out, everyone is helpful and attentive. The entire place is remarkably clean, which includes the bathroom, waiting area, exam room, even the outside area, ect. The outside area provides seating and areas for your pet to do business, as well as free poop bags with waste disposal and trash cans. Inside, there is a water fountain with cups to fill with water for your pets. There is a soda machine and snack machine. On the check-in counter top, there are several containers with complimentary pet treats. They also have several large sanitizer bottles. They will take walk-ins if you arrive before noon(if you are a walk-in, your best bet is to get there when they open); however, an appointment is extremely highly recommended. After a certain time, they may or may not be able to see your pet, it's on a case by case basis depending on your pet's urgency.

The wait can be long but for the volume of this shelter, it should be expected, plan accordingly. No one answers the phone and call backs from leaving voicemails have taken a week to receive. The staff and care given to the 4 pets we have brought in (cats, puppy, dog) were good. If my pet is more severely sick i would take to another vet for more personalized care versus cutting cost, I will afford that preference. But for routine vaccs, flea meds, and spay/neuter, no problems.

Needed my chihuahuas fixed, got all 3 Done in one swoop. The mother Sinnimon, and her 2 6mo. Old pups 1 f. Shyanne and a Male Trigger/ now Romeo, all nipped, taking care of. They also trimmed their nails and removed the k9 teeth that had not fell out yet on the pups to avoid their teeth from becoming Unaligned. At no extra charge (considering they we already growing in about the length of a sharpened pencil lead beside the older oners). Normally this place is really good but my last experience was awful. I was rushed in and out while trying to do an adoption, I asked for the meds they give the animals so they do not get an upper respiratory infection, well they didnt give us the medication and not even 24 hours later my cat got it. We have taken our dog there 3 times, as where we live they do not have the equipment needed. I would not have made a 2 hour drive 3 times here if it were not for the People working there and The Dr. They have been LESS Money than ANY vet in our area, better than that they are much more Caring! and Knowledgeable. Besides having the equipment needed, Dr. Milian & his assistant take the time with the animal and us to discuss what they are doing and what is needed without whisking you out the door as fast as possible leaving you the feeling all they want is your MONEY like the Vets in Dunnellon, Fl. our cost in Tampa was 1/2 what we paid in our town and Never even were told what was wrong. We had to go to Humanitarians Veterinary in Inverness for a better diagnosis then sent here to Tampa for the Imaging Equipment and more testing. Great Place and Staff. By the way...I do not think the Vets here "Work for Free" But I Know the CARE more, than Vets who live to RIP you Off to make their Boat, BMW or Cadillac Escalade & House payment all off just You!

I took my dog here because he had a cancerous tumor that caused for the front-right leg to be amputated. When I took him in for blood tests, they told me that it would take two to four business days to get results. At first, I was patient, but after three days I decided to call and check up on the process. After ringing them nearly fifteen times through out the day and getting no call back, I began to grow more infuriated as I was anxious to get help for my five year old Chihuahua. I kept calling until the sixth day when I left a voice message indicating of a lawsuit for putting an animal with cancer at risk, stating I'd inform news stations of their malicious actions, and mocked at their "Humane Society" label. No more than twenty minutes later I receive a call from the Doctor himself, with apologies on how they "lost" my dogs blood results. However it has now been a week since the surgery, and everything since that day I threatened of a lawsuit, they have been attentive and well. Needless to say, this place isn't a total mess as long as you pretend to get legal action involved.

Last month we were looking for a Guinea Pig to replace our beloved Rodeo. After checking a number of "rescue" sites we came upon a picture of Rocky, a long haired Sheltie Guinea Pig. Why such a beautiful and loveable pig was at a shelter I still don't understand. But when we saw him at the shelter it was love at first sight. The staff was wonderful, very caring and obviously very concerned about the welfare of this little animal. We have since gotten a phone call from one of the staff inquiring as to how the adoption has turned out so far. I'm very impressed with the attitude and care at this facility and Rocky has found a loving home.
