The doctors were able to help me provide quality care and quality of life. Each of them is very compassionate and dedicated to their work to help pets and parents. Their staff is also something they should be proud of. They work together as a cohesive team. They provide TLC to every pet they touch. I recommend them to anyone that needs help. They also work with several of our specialty care clinics for complex health cases, again as one cohesive team. Thank you to this incredible clinic for helping my fur babies stay happy and healthy. I can't say enough good things about this wonderful vet. The staff is compassionate, friendly, caring, attentive, and just there to make your visit better. They helped us through one of the worst times in our family's life and did with such compassion that we will never forget them, nor go to another vet as long as that is possible. Cassie at the front desk went above and beyond to help us, she truly takes her job to heart and is a wonderful person. The Dr. we worked with was equally friendly and caring, truly knowledgeable, I could not imagine someone else having been there for us. Switched to here after Florissant animal hospital started going downhill (in my opinion) and new staff I dealt with was so rude. Plus pricey. This place has reasonable prices and excellent and knowledgeable staff who are eager to help and answer all my questions. Not only do they see my dog but they also see our ferrets as well. And they saved the life of one of our older ferrets with hormone treatments so I am forever grateful to them.

I can't say enough about Dr. Toepke and his staff. They are the most caring and friendly towards my dogs. We have had a great experience at every visit. We never wait more than a few minutes for our appointment. He takes the necessary time to care for our dogs and talk to us about their health. And the costs are the most fair and reasonable compared to any clinic I've experienced in the past.

Wonderful friendly staff. This was our first visit. Unfortunately we had to put our dog down. The doctor and staff were so kind and sympathetic. They allowed our fur baby to go so peacefully. Allowed the family to stay with her and mourn as long as we needed. They even sent a sympathy card and included a hand written note inside. I couldn't ask for better a better veterinarian. If we get another fur baby this will be our vet of choice!

Had my puppy's ears cropped.it was so fast and he was great with his ears. The doctor gave good information regarding getting an inflatable collar instead of him wearing a cone. The doctor does laser cut so it no as hard in the puppy and thin lite dissolvable sutures. Love it. His ear stood up after taking bandages off did not have to be taped up again. Nice clean office and staff is pleasant.

Took two of my dogs in to the clinic. One for routine shots, the other because I was worried about his weight. The doctor reassured us that our dog was ok @ the weight he was, but to be sure we needed to bring a stool sample. The staff are very nice and professional. They have a real love for animals.

They have been my families vet for furever, longer than I have been alive. Both my household and my aunts households have taken their animals here. I have never had an issue with anyone on the staff here they are all so kind loving and compassionate such an amazing team. I moved about an hour away a few years ago and they are still my vet of choice. I will make the drive to come in to them with my animals (and see my family) when I can.

This is a place where I don't care which vet I schedule an appointment with because they are all good. We've been using their veterinary services for years, and even though they are a half hour drive from our house and there are closer vets, we do not plan to change. The staff is very caring and sensitive to the needs and emotions of pet owners and their pets.

I came home from work to find that my cat Mr. Miagi had somehow split his back paw open and it was bleeding badly, I had never been to this vet but my in laws had and recommended I call in, they were fully booked but said they would fit me in, within 15 minutes of getting there Dr. Toepke was in cleaning and stitching my cats paw. They were wonderful and had the antibiotic ready for me to take home as well. They have good hours and the bill was reasonable. I think I found my new vet. I have two French Bulldogs who are like children to me. Trying to find a vet that knew what they were doing was proving incredibly challenging. My husband and I moved to Hazelwood and shortly thereafter I needed to get one of them fixed and the other needed to be seen for skin irritation. We've since been going here for all their vet care needs (2 years and counting). We have seen several of the vets here and have had very pleasant experiences with each of them. Just recently my girl needed a dental and I was nervous putting her under due to being smoosh faced and they did great explaining the extra precautions taken for her. Highly recommended!

First let me say I was completely satisfied with the customer service and the service performed. I have no complaints about that at all but the price for the service was a little much. I can't blame them I should have called around before hand instead of after but let's just say I found the same service for about $75 to a hundred dollars cheaper. I know it's not a ton of money but for someone that does not have it it makes it hard. Besides being a little pricey this place was great.

Dr. Vandas of Howdershell Animal Clinic is BY FAR the best vet in the stl and greater metro area (and even beyond) we have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. We searched for several years for a vet who performed/shared even half of the care we continuously receive from her upon moving back to the area, and were continuously disappointed until we were recommended to her for a small animal need about 3yrs ago. Since, she has been our “primary care” vet for our very large-and diverse-furry family and now we would never consider anyone else. From our small animals (rats, chickens, and others) to our cats and dogs, she has always provided the upmost care, compassion, and consideration and does so in a way that considers your pets health and wellbeing foremost, instead of the profit that could be made as a result of such needs. She relentlessly offers honest and affordable medical treatment across the board and takes the time to get to know your family and animals...learning, treating, and caring for them as if they are her own. She’s patient, available (even when she really isn’t), and incredibly diligent. We are a community of avid animal lovers, care takers, fosters, and adopters who have presented this team with a diverse array of ailments, emergencies, and medical needs, etc etc and I cannot recommend her enough for all of it...surgery to general check ups, crazy emergencies to end of life quality care...she far exceeds anything we have ever experienced with a vet and especially locally! We’ve visited drs throughout the area for a plethora of veterinary needs, and we have never found another dr who even came close to her level of performance. Dr. Gray is another great doctor at Howdershell and we have also worked with her when dr vandas isn’t available. The office/support/vet tech staff is also incredibly friendly and unwaveringly helpful (even during incredibly busy/stressful times). As a family/community we do not/cannot take vet care lightly, nor do we have padded wallets that can afford to diagnose and treat without financial regard. They get it...and thus, they get to the point and will help you honestly and openly without extra/excess or deceitful costs for such. Do yourself-and your animal family- a favor, and go see for yourself! We are forever grateful for all she and her staff have done for our family and will never even consider trusting another person to care for our animal family in the way that she has. Vet care is not something we take lightly, nor can we afford to be ran around or financially exploited regarding. There aren’t even enough words to fully explain what Dr Vandas and her team have done for us. They say a recommendation is the greatest compliment. With that, that’s why I’m here writing this review lol...I would not be going out of my way to type this if I wasn’t so incredibly thankful and grateful for the care we have received (I’m pretty sure this is my only google reviews actually) but, dr vandas and her team of office staff deserves the recognition, and your family and furry friends deserve the level of care she and her team relentlessly provide. Huge thanks to dr vandas and the Howdershell tech crew! I found this animal clinic while calling around, trying to find a veterinarian that had an opening for me and my dog. I'm sad to say my dog was in the last days of his life and I was searching for somewhere I could take him to say goodbye in the most humane way possible. The staff there were so kind and caring. Letting me spend as much time as I needed with him before we started anything and then let me stay with him until I was ready to leave afterwards. It was a difficult week, but on Friday, I find a card from the clinic addressed to me, expressing sympathy and comfort. I've never experienced care like they do it here. Thank you, Dr. Woodworth. You and the staff at Howdershell Animal Clinic made one of the most difficult moments in this fur-momma's life a little easier. And I would definitely recommend Dr. Woodworth to anyone looking for a new vet.

Love this caring vets officebeen a client with various pets since Dr Laws was there....2020 vovid Dr Toepke...totally disappointed in the care and services..not informed about what procedure would entail...made to wait in car in parking lot with newly transitioning stray for over 30 minutes between beginning on hold past my appointment time them rushed through with out charges and procedures on a rescue cat being explained to me...not my best experience plus they shaved his neck ..I guess to take blood..not a happy camper and I 4 other pets currently being treated there...omg...I want the old guys back...they cared and knew there clients

My pet yorkie Bella has a favorite Vet. doctor at Howdershell Animal Clinic her name is Dr Arnsmeyer, she is great with Bella and very attentive and kind to her. Bella has allergy, the Doctor recommended me to a specialist at MO. Vet. Hospital. Bella is doing great now. The Doctors at Howdershell Animal Clinic looks out for the needs of your pets they are awesome. Bella just had her yearly dental procedure done, the doctor who treated her was professional very attentive and kind to my pet, her name is Dr Thies, she keep me informed by telephone before and afterwards even did a follow up call the next day. Both Dr Arnsmeyer and Dr Thies, are awesome doctors. The entire staff at Howdershell Animal Clinic is just superb. The place is clean and welcoming, friendly and very attentive staff to you and your pets. I would recommend Howdershell Animal Clinic to anyone who is looking for a good Vet. Clinic.
