All I did was just call the vet and pretty much got to ask some questions. What I really wanted to do was to make an appointment to get my cat fixed, but I have to wait until the end of March and also put down a deposit. So I told the receptionous that I could call them back only because I had recently lost my wallet, so every single card I have in cut up into pieces.

They offer a full variety of services from basic check ups to vaccinations and even your end stage care for your furry loved one. Best part is they always give you their undivided attention and will help give you the best options for your pet's health. They are modestly priced but the views of care and service provided out weigh the cost. Oh one more hidden bit of awesomeness in services; they offer boarding services for your pet if you are going to be away on vacation!!! They are very affordable plus they give your pet round the clock care as needed!!! Make an appointment a few weeks before your trip as the room fills up fast. Going here for your pet's health care is the best option in town.

They are the best! We brought our elderly cat to them first a few years ago, and now we bring our two year old cat. For our elderly cat, they took such gentle care of her when she was sick, and even made time to see her in between other appointments when it was an emergency. When it was time for our kitty to cross the rainbow bridge, the entire team was so sensitive and caring for us. Again, they adjusted their schedule so that my husband could make it home to say goodbye in time. For Maya, our two year old, they have been equally as caring and responsive with questions and care. Our recent visit was under Covid protocol, and their communication was great. Everyone we have interacted with truly cares about animals and is extremely knowledgable. Their pricing is spot on and fair, their hours are really convenient, and even though we moved to Renton, we're going to stick with them as long as we can. Highly recommended!

I have taken doggo Sally to Rainier Vet three times now since the first of 2020 and have been very satisfied with their care, interest and pricing. I looked at a variety of Yelp reviews to find a vet nearby. They had so many positive reviews it was an easy choice for me. Their building is not fancy, or even close, but I appreciate that this keeps their overhead low so they can pass the savings onto customers and hopefully their staff. I hope they can continue to offer great care at a very competitive cost. I will certainly be back!

My GSD was spayed at RVH. Dumb me, it didn't dawn on me to search "spay" and read all about it. I hadn't idea of the seriousness of the procedure...a full hysterectomy! I thought they got their tubes tied. I was beating myself up for having it done. Done it was. I arrived late but was on time for her appointment. Everyone was polite and helpful. They took custody of her at 8:00am and told me to be back for her at 4:30. We rode the bus as I do not drive. When I arrived and received my GSD I was taken back. She was higher than a kite and wearing a gigantic e-collar. The sun was blazing that day and walking to the bus stop was out of the question. I was instantly filled with fear, worry, dred and regret. The staff not only performed the surgery but provided mental health services for me. All paid for by a grant...from them, RVH! I can't say enough in gratitude about them, all of them. Oh and they called to follow up. Beautiful people with beautiful hearts.

I was able to get in quickly once I had a new puppy. I prepaid for my 1st appointment and they sent me text reminders. I was was able to book out all my future vaccine follow up appointments. There is easy parking in their lot off Rainier. I called from the parking lot to let them know I was there and they called me to bring my dog to the front door when they were ready. Checkin was fast and easy and the tech and also the vet spent time to give me important info, recommendations and answer all my questions.

We've just gone for our initial visit so far, but are beyond pleased. The vet there was so patient as we asked a million questions (this is our first dog we've owned as adults and we wanted to do it right). She was kind, considerate, and knowledgeable, and I definitely felt my pet would be safe and healthy in her hands!

We LOVE rainier vet! They always want to help out and in our experience have more availability than any other vets. Even when they're booking far out, it's easy to get on a wait list for cancellations. I can always tell the vet cares for my cat I never feel rushed or ignored. They always offer to look at other issues while he's there to save me trips/money, and genuinely seem pet-driven more than money-driven.

We had to put our sweet Australian cattle dog down on Monday due to having hemangiosarcoma and her health was sadly declining. It was so heartbreaking. It was my first time bringing her to Rainier Veterinary Hospital and after the whole experience it was definitely the right place to have our last moments with our sweet pup, Opal. All of the staff and doctors were so accommodating and made me feel as good about the situation as they could. Everyone was gentle and kind. Thank you so much for making an extremely terrible situation more comforting.

We've been taking our furbaby here since we adopted him about 2 years ago. Everyone we have seen here is amazing - they really care about what they do and it shows. They have supported us through behavioral issues with our pup, and are the only people who can take care of his nails! They are also transparent about cost and have affordable prices. These folks treated my elder cat several times, and did a great job (he is really scared when he leaves home, and has sharp claws). They have a great bedside manner, and the prices were reasonable. They were able to inform me about my cat's condition and did a great job lining out the options we had for treatment. I really like this place, and will continue to come here. It's hard to find a business you can trust with your animal's care, who also comes correct with a fair price. Highly recommend.

My husband and I bring our two dogs and two cats here. The whole staff is super friendly, and it’s really easy to make appointments! I recently got my cat spayed here, and the consultation and procedure went smoothly. They don’t try to push products on you, and are really helpful with any questions you have. Sometimes, when you call them, the phone line beeps and sounds like it isn’t connected, so just hang up, call again, and it should work. Parking lot can fill up a little bit, but there is easy and quiet street parking just a block down.

This clinic no longer has walk-in clinic hours and can not see current patients for minor emergencies in a timely manner (not life threatening but should be seen within 24 hours). That said, the care our pets have had in the past was good. I loved the vets in this practice, so even though it was not the closest vet, we still preferred it. I will be moving my pets to a closer veterinary practice.

Rainier Vet Clinic has existed for a very long time. My mother took her pets there in the 1950's and I would not consider going anywhere else. The vets and support staff are so caring, and they never suggest more than is necessary for your pet. It's always been a no-frills office which I imagine allows them to provide quality services at modest cost. You could not find a better vet clinic in the city.

We've been taking our dog to Rainier Vet for over 10 years, ever since he's been a member of our family. The veterinarians have always been terrific and thorough on exams. We like the reminders for shots and the sage advice we receive. Great "bedside" manners with our pet and people too! Exam fee $65, pet goes in without you due to COVID. The vet spent a whole hour with me on the phone (while examining my dog) about the plan and treatment options. Provided me with paper prescriptions and promptly responded to faxed rx request from chewy. This is my first time here and had a good experience with vet and techs.

Rainier Veterinary Hospital doctors are wonderful. They are not only very well trained physicians, they are also good communicators and kind to animals and humans alike. I'm sure all of their clients, like me, wish they could afford a beautiful new state of the art building, as the premises are old and unattractive; but the spaces are clean, and the doctors and very kind staff are more important than the aesthetics. My cats are patients of Dr. Cassidy, a very capable young doctor. In her absence the other staff veterinarians have always proven to be excellent as well. I recommend the Rainier Veterinary Hospital without reservation.

This was my first visit, and the staff was consistently patient, responsive and professional - although I called several times confirming that all Luna's records had been received. I even received a print-out of the various diagnoses, in addition to speaking directly w/the vet on the phone immediately following his exam (during which animals' owners are required to stay in the parking lot, in compliance w/the CoVid 19 restrictions.) I have been taking my dogs to Rainier Vet Hospital since 1982. Been though several doctors and techs and have always had good results. Before there were set appointments, there were long wait times. Was really glad they went to set appointments. My dogs, all four of them, have always been treated with love and care, even when they were a handful. I always felt comfortable leaving them there. My most recent vet, Dr. Beestman, is very kind and gentle. the rates are reasonable, the location for me is great, and I know my Aksel is well taken care of by everyone there. My Aksel (yellowLab, age 7) has a heart problem but under care has been doing well. I just love Rainier Vet Hospital, they are great! Highly recommend!

I love our veterinary hospital. Do not be fooled by its simple appearance, the staff is wonderful, compassionate, kind, responsive. I liked every vets and assistants whom took care of our cats. They even checked on them after treatments. We get a little check up card reminder in the mail once a year, they also worked with me when the cost was up and allowed me to make payments. In other words, I highly recommend them!

I have been using the Rainier veterinarian clinic since I was a little girl in my dad took our dogs to the vet. They've always been kind and caring and understanding of how we feel about our pets, and that sometimes cost is an issue. They always give me the fullest picture and options available to me in making my choices for the care of my pets. The staff is just wonderful! Although there are many veterinary offices that are much closer to where I currently live, I keep going back to the Rainier Veterinarian Clinic. I can't imagine going anywhere else.

I used to go to Rainier Vet, but I moved and started going to a different vet. My dog got into trouble on Sunday and Rainier was open and made room for her. I think I expected a cursory exam because I did tell them that I was there because my regular vet is not open on Sundays and the problem was not enough of an emergency for the special vet clinics but enough that I was very concerned. The vet was very thorough with the exam and very good with my dog She took the time to speak to me and reassure me. She gave great, practical advice. The facility is very old and it shows it, but don't let that influence you. It's clean and the people are wonderful. This is a great vet hospital.

This is the 2nd time that I'll be writing a review of Rainier Vet. Why? Because every time I go there they exceed my expectations by 110% (my family owns a veterinary hospital, so I have pretty high expectations). I took my dog, Cora, in because she was having urinary issues. The doctor and vet tech were friendly, and very clearly explained possible issues that she was having, and what the routes for treatment are. Before proceeding, they gave me a custom quote for all of the different treatment options - so that I knew how much things may cost going into it. I think every vet hospital should do this. Not only that. After Cora's test results came back, they recommended a prescription dog food. I took time to research different places to buy the dog food - Amazon, Chewy, in store, etc. I finally called the hospital and asked how much their dog food was - It was a full $20 cheaper than any of the other resources I checked. What this tells me is that Rainier doesn't jack up their prices just to get a bit of extra profit (like nearly every other vet hospital). Another thing - every time I go (I think I've had 6+ appointments?) there is never a long wait time. I'm only ever waiting for 5 minutes max. I have recommended all of my friends to Rainier and will continue to do so. There really isn't another hospital in Seattle that can measure up. :)

Rainier Veterinary Hospital always done a wonderful job with my fuzzy family members. On my last visit, I brought in two (of three!) pets for some routine and not-so-routine concerns. Great care for my cat. They're friendly, thorough, and caring. I have gotten great vet service here. I just have to update this post. My cat had a urinary problem you last weekend, and they were able to take her in on Monday. They were so helpful and caring and kept me updated every step of the way . The vet has talked to me twice afterwards with detailed useful information, and the staff have also followed up. Athena got great care (though of course the vet isn't her favorite place, she was calm when she was dropped off). Athena is already doing better since Monday, and I'm hopeful that the prescription diet will help remove the bladder stones. I really appreciate the can thorough and compassionate approach here.

Most recently, our dog saw Dr. Beestman who was very thorough and did an excellent job of explaining his treatments and upcoming care. They have really gone above and beyond in taking care of my cats and worked to fit them into the schedule even on busy days when they were suddenly sick. Best Veterinary Hospital in the Seattle neighborhood. We live in the Central District off of Pine Street. We have been taking our Fur-Babies to Rainier Veterinary since 2010, and before that my husband was taking his fur-babies to Rainier Veterinary since 2000. All of their staff are super helpful, compassionate, and they really care about the job and quality of care they provide and give to all the fur-babies and their owners too. The Rainier-staff feel like part of our family, because they have been with us through our fur-babies as puppies and kittens, adults, elderly, rescue, hard goodbyes, and back to puppies again. During the COVID-19 pandemic, and continuing through, the Rainier-staff have been so understanding, and accommodating, and yet keep everyone safe too. Thank You Rainier Veterinary and all of the staff for everything you have done and continue to do for Gracie, Kami & Lyndee, Suki, both of us, and for the community you all serve. We would HIGHLY recommend Rainier Veterinary Hospital to anyone in our area, and even outside of Seattle too. We are also thrilled to know they will be expanding and building their new facility in the same spot.

My adopted doberman has severe anxiety (whining, pacing and panting); basically panic attacks, but my other vet didn't have much experience in treating her condition. I searched for someone else who could help and came upon Dr Beestman's bio emphasizing her understanding of anxiety in animals. So far I think she has set us on the right path to addressing my pups behaviour in conjunction with medication. The staff at Rainier are caring and kind and I felt they are invested in providing the best medical care they are capable of.

I absolutely love Rainier Vet Hospital. My friend suggested I switch to them when I was looking for a place to board my pet, which they do for clients. Rainier Vet hospital folks are kind, compassionate and helpful. They are very good with my high-strung dog and wonderful when my four year old niece accompanies us to the "dog doctor". I started going to this vet for my beloved Shanaynay's, the sweetest Shih Tzu ever, first puppy check 13 years ago. I love the diversity among the staff- through those years, I've had a Black vet, Asian vet, male, female...and their support staff reflects the same. In addition to first class professional care, they also board. So Naynay was fine. We'd walk in the front door and she'd start heading to the back like it was her 2nd home. Thank goodness she was always leashed. My dog developed a heart murmur that progressed as she aged. So boarding her there, I knew she'd get the best care. As a matter of fact, we were on vacation when her condition took a turn for the worst. My vet called and kept us informed. We both made the decision to put her down. The staff called my daughter and granddaughter to come and be with Shanaynay. My daughter said there were tears all around including the vet who administered the final dose. So compassionate. I have her ashes and a plaster imprint of her paw. I was also given information on grief. Now, Rainier vet also takes care of my other dog- old man Dooney. A Shih Tzu & Laso Apso mix. 16 years old and doing well for an old man. On his last visit, the vet shared how she still talks to her old dog too- even though he's deaf like my Dooney. She answered all of my questions and shared some 'look for's' as Dooney also has a slight murmur. The price is right. Every staff member is professional, compassionate. They care and board.

These wonderful people always provide us with the best care when we need it. I have a special needs dog and they're always very patient with her and courteous to me. I have also found (from asking friends about similar procedures) that they are slightly less expensive than most vets in the area. My dog has been a patient here for 7 years now, and I would recommend them to anyone.

I felt that they were trying to sell me a whole bunch of treatments without any real recommendation about what to do. I'm not a vet, so it would nice to hear something like "but I think it is not a serious issue, and I would do X and not spend a lot of money in unnecessary tests". Not being an expert, I'm not qualified to make a decision, but I trust them to do just that: recommend to me the best course of action. But the service was nice and quick. Very nice people. But if I go to a vet (or a "human" hospital), I don't want to feel like I'm buying a new car with a lot of features. I just want my dog to be ok!

Any clinic that's been around over 80 years must be doing something right! Check out this wonderful mural hanging in their lobby - it was painted in 1960 and I wouldn't be surprised if it were given to them by a client out of sheer appreciation.

In the era of COVID-19, Rainier Veterinary Hospital is employing super safe practices without minimizing their services. It was stressful at first to have my dogs go in without me, but they were cared for with such care it really showed. They were not stressed out when they came back to the car and were very calm coming home. I attribute this to the fact that they were well cared for and comforted inside while I was not there. In addition to this, my consultation with Dr Beastman was really informative. Honestly, I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Everyone there is super helpful and patient with you. They have always managed to be flexible with me with my questions as I'm always stressing something is wrong with my two dogs (are they too big or too small? Do their teeth look okay?) As well as scheduling appointments. The parking isn't ideal, but it's kind of worth the inconvenience.

My beloved Bichon, Alexys Jane dies peacefully in her sleep at age 15. Rainier Vets coordinated the cremation. They were sweet and compassionate (and less expensive than her last vet). I received her remains back in a pretty wooden box plus an inked nose print, an inked pawprint, a pawprint in clay and a lock of her fur. Very respectful and thoughtful. I highly recommend Rainier Vet for this service!

I appreciate the flexible/weekend hours, the follow up phone calls, and how responsive they are to any questions before or after each visit. Out of their current providers we have specifically seen Dr. Beestman, Dr. Cassaday, and Dr. Johnson. They were all incredible, but what is so great about this clinic is how well they all work together as a team. The vets clearly review the medical charts before each visit and are familiar with our situation when they come in the room. So I know even if we switch doctors between visits I can still be confident that they will know our pet's medical history. The vet techs and front desk staff are equally amazing in their care for our pets. They are also really great about helping you determine the level of care you can afford - ie being clear and upfront with their pricing (which is surprisingly low for Seattle), helping to prioritize treatment options when I can't afford all of the recommendations, and to tailor the care plan to each specific pet. I will continue to take my pets here for as long as I live in Seattle.

I had taken Denali to Rainier Vet when I first got him a year ago. He was due for his annual shots so I called in to schedule and they remembered Denali and gave me great customer service over the phone. When we were there Denali was never treated poorly. He was greeted with smiles and affection. Even after his shots and getting his temperature taken, I don't think he'll be scared to come back here. Everyone was so warm and accommodating. Sure, Rainier Vet Hospital doesn't have a posh waiting room. But who cares, when your pet is being treated with the best care in Seattle? And at a very reasonable price, too! I've been coming to this vet clinic with two of my cats over the last 6 years. Before that, I was shelling out WAY too much money on "cat only" vets who just stressed my cat out. This old-school vet clinic is smart, super caring, helpful, and reasonable. It would be a wonderful thing if Rainer could expand new clinics around Seattle so more pets and owners could access their compassionate, down-to-earth care of our animals. PS to cat owners bring your cat in a crate because you'll be sharing the waiting room with dogs (but they can move you if need be).

I have to preface this review with this. The staff are amazing and welcoming. They remember our pets by name. They work pretty well with the animals. I havent had any large procedures so I dont know about that. All the small things, tests return quickly, I get follow up calls and appointment reminders. The biggest problem is the best way to describe this actual building is: dingy. It's not well taken care of, it's not temperature controlled well, it looks like its constantly dirty. It's not a 5 star establishment... but the staff are. EDIT: Response from the Owner states they will be doing upgrades. I will update my review once finished to reflect the work being done!

Economically the vet is i s not expensive compared to places I've been. They are attentive and try and find out what is going with the animal and also gives you the list of what's needed ASAP OR within a couple of days. I've dealt with this vet off and on for at least 25years with a Rottweiler that the mailman poisoned. So compared to the MONEY MAKING VETERINARIAN HOSPITALS I PERSONALLY HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS. I wouldn’t call myself an uptight dog mom normally, but this is how I’ve felt the last 2 months. My pup suddenly became accident prone, so after needing to go in and visit Dr. Beestman to get her checked/fixed up - I’ve been able to follow up with the doc and ask my additional questions through email. It was really nice for her to take the time and answer questions about new symptoms and help guide me when I question is ‘THIS’ or ‘THAT’ normal? I get a response by the end of the day with some reassurance things are going well or for further guidance. The staff at the desk and answering the phone is always super nice and ready to help you. They’ve adapted to covid best practices as well, and seem to have a good policy to limit contact exposure. I trust them to help guide me with making the right decisions for my pup and will continue taking my girl there for the foreseeable future.

Unfortunately the horrible experiences at the other vet--where they insisted I just put my cat on a diet instead of finding the *freaking tumors in her abdomen* that were found too late and treating her arthritis--meant that my sweet girl ended up at Rainier Veterinary Hospital for palliative and end-of-life care. Dr. Beestman and Dr. Cassidy were both so kind to my little angel that I bring my remaining little old man to Dr. Cassidy as his primary care provider. Our family have used Rainier Vet as our go-to primary vet for decades, with Dr. Cliff Heino as our go to doctor. The staff is caring and efficient and know their repeat clients by name. My mother has a Yorkie with pancreatitis, and all we have to do when she has an episode is walk in the door and they'd reach out and take her. They just knew what to do. They don't believe in overcharging for care, but in providing the best care for your pet. They used to do walk-in service, but recently changed it to appointments only. They were the sweetest and most compassionate staff we could ask for when we finally had to put our Chow down due to liver failure at 12, allowing us to remain as long as we liked afterwards. We recently adopted a new Chow mix and know that we will be taking her to them, even if they are 20miles away from us now. It's worth the time, distance and our new dog's quality of care to go there.

My 13 YO dog got injured in a fight with another dog at doggy daycare and I called emergency clinics all around the area. Rainier vet created a chance 4me to drop him off so his vet could see him in between surgeries later that day. By time I got through traffic from Renton to Rainier Ave. 2 arrive at clinic, the vet was in between procedures with an apprentice entail. She just finished a surgery when I arrived so she took us in clinic to help my dog with a pain shot, a pack of antibiotics, & a plan 2 keep him alive. I had 2 call a few more times for advice over the next few days but we saved him from spiraling to death, as a team. Thinking back, I am so impressed with Dr. Cassidy's care style, her unobtrusive demeanor is exactly what my dog's injuries needed. I saw my dog do something he has never done before with a vet when he lovingly crawled into her lap during her examination & laid there as if saying "I trust U2 help me." I'm a huge fan of Dr. Cassidy's
