As a recent adoptive (shelter) dog owner I contacted Marine View with some concerns and to find a primary vet office. They quickly got me scheduled for our first visit (in just over a week) then also recommended a clinic to go to for my more urgent concerns. The clinic they recommended was great. During our visit with Doc. Gabby she took her time to answer all my first time dog owner questions and gave Hugo a good look over. I was able to schedule his dental work within the next week which is a relief to my busy schedule.

Marine view staff has Wonderful customer service! Absolutley pleasant staff (whole team). I brought my two dogs in as new clients and the vet Doctor Felts was so thorough and great with my nervous pit and pyr mix I was so impressed with the long discussions we had about different aspects of my pets health and lifestyle. This is a wonderful place to take your pets to and I will for sure be coming back! I work as a dog groomer and appreciate the attention the staff gives to each client and pet.

Such a wonderful place... the minute I walked in the door, it was comfortable and stress-free. The front desk ladies were darling and I enjoyed our fun conversation as I waited for Dr. Gabby. Dr John and his staff are so gentle and kind. When we had to put down our 17year old dog they were so gentle and thoughtful. I would strongly recommend them for your new puppy too. Months later we adopted a rescue puppy and were concerned that his 1st vet visit be the least traumatizing as possible. We were equally impressed with the staff at Marine View with this visit as well. They are reasonably priced and we strongly recommend Marine View Veterinary and their staff for all your pets needs.

Dr. Gabby and the staff at Marine View Vet are great! They are always helpful when my 5.5 month old black lab puppy Nate has any issues or for regular well-being or vaccination appointments. He recently had some tummy troubles (maybe from something he got into at the beach, typical lab puppy!) and Dr. Gabby was very direct and helpful with suggestions and medications to make him feel better. When his food wasn't agreeing with him, a quick switch of food, per her suggestion, and he's doing much better now. I'm glad I live so close to such a great vet 👍Highly recommended.

I see happy pets and their owners come and go from Marine View Veterinary Hospital everytime I'm there. The first time I went in was because my rescue cat had stopped eating and was obviously very sick. The extremely friendly and capable staff and doctors at Marine View diagnosed him with lymphoma. He is now on treatment which has increased his quality of life by 100%. I appreciate Dr. Felts and his staff so much and absolutely recommend Marine View Veterinary Hospital!

Dr. Gabby was wonderful. I brought my cat Billy in because he had what looked like a cyst on his ear. She was communicative and made it a point to check out every possible cause. I felt very comfortable leaving Billy there in her hands knowing he would be well cared for and looked over. It turned out to just be a small infection but she kept us informed the whole way and I will absolutely be keeping this clinic as his vet. I also recommended them to my mother in law for her cat and dog. I previously lost a cat to cancer and had to fight for her to just get an X-ray at a vet I went to before. They kept insisting she was probably fine and was probably just sneezing because "grass or something" got up her nose. It took over a month of me bringing her in to finally get a diagnosis and at that point she only had a couple weeks left. She was only 3 years old. I obviously never went back there and was so relieved that when I came to Marine View everyone was so helpful and kind and my cat's health and wellbeing was the priority. Thank you so much! I can't express what a relief it was for me to know Billy was in good hands.

Calm and reassuring to “parents” too, allowing us to be a part of your team through every step of the decision making processes. All are very skilled and knowledgeable. I started taking my pets to you when the Des Moines clinic first opened, in the 70s. All my pets have lived very long lives due to your loving good care. Thank you!

I was impressed from the moment my initial phone call was taken. The woman I spoke to on the phone gave me all the info I needed to get my cat in to see the vet. My cat had recently contracted an URI and I couldn't get in to see my regular vet until the next day. I knew the sooner I got him in and got some meds the better. The vet, Dr. Gabbi was EXCELLENT and took her time examining my little guy, explaining what he had, and detailing the dosage and time frame of the medication I needed to give him. The vet personally came out to my car to bring us into our appointment and she personally walked us out to my car. I have a bad shoulder so it was wonderful that she so kindly carried my 16-pound cat to and from the car. I would highly recommend this Vet Clinic to anyone. I love my vet but if I decided to change this would be my very first choice. They get an EXCELLENT rating from me and my cat.

We are happy to have Marine View Veterinary to take care of annual visits as well as haircuts when Tucker isn't able to clean himself as he should. We newly adopted Haku and brought him in for a sick-type visit to discuss coughing/sneezing (he's FIV+). Dr. Gabby thought it might be asthma, and Haku got an x-ray. She explained she would have a radiologist read his x-ray to confirm and would call the next day. Dr. Gabby called the next morning to confirm he had asthma. She was very thorough in explaining the options and the best one for Haku since he's FIV+. She sent a link within minutes after our call for the aero kat chamber and where we could buy and the pharmacy to get his medicine which was a lower-cost option. All in all a great experience, and Haku liked Dr. Gabby too. He wanted to help her type his visit notes and sit on her lap. A win all the way around.

I take my doggie there for everything he needs in terms of medical help. The doctors are great and the staff is amazing. My dogs always come out happy and healthy. Might be a bit on the higher end for pricing, but the services are impeccable!

Have been going here for 9 yrs with my pets I had an emergency and one of the doctors never called me back after multiple messages that morning and afternoon and never did return my call from my previous messages, not the day of or ever. Also they have been frequently increasing their pricing. As an example my dog is on insulin one vial was 65.00 two years ago then 75.00 Now as of today 85.00. Every pet store online is still 63.00 and ships free. I’ve chose to pay the extra money for convenience cause it’s right down the street but far to high priced now. They have a few very great caring doctors at marine view and front desk staff but some of the dr’s are terrible. As far as client concerns go and whomever runs the place and decides what to charge for their products and services just priced this customer out. Between the price increases and a specific doctors blatant neglect of a client that’s enough for me.

I have been receiving cat care at Marine View Veterinary Hospital since 2013. They are always kind and caring. When it looked like care for my Lili was going to get really expensive they helped me apply for Care Credit a special card that can help with vet bills. Lili passed away in June 2014 and they were so wonderful to me. Dr. Jon held her little body as though she were his own cat. She was probably 17 and had a really good life for most of that time with me. Later that year I adopted Diavolo, the community cat here at our apartments....or should I say he adopted me. There was no question as to who would be his doctor. I booked an appointment for a checkup and shots and several months later took him in for a microchip. Always great service from kind, caring, compassionate, professional people.

I'm new to the area and very sadly, my elderly bunny passed away early in the morning. I called Marine View Veterinary, and while they usually do not take rabbits, they were so kind and took my boy for cremation. They had his remains back to me within the week, and they were so sweet and caring. I will definitely be taking my kitty here in the future!

There is a reason why we still drive 45 min each way to come to this Vet after we moved away from Des Moines... it's because everyone at Marine View Vet is incredible! Our dog Ally is a nervous dog and is not good around dogs when she is on a leash, and she is especially scared of vet appointments. Staff members and Dr Felts have been extremely understanding and accommodating of her situation (such as letting her go in and out of the back door of the office so she won't interact with other dogs, Dr. Felts being really patient with her and taking the time to get her comfortable before the exam, etc). I've owned dogs my entire life but I've never had a vet that's full of kind and caring people like Marine View Vet. They are the best!

I've been coming to this vet's office for 5 years and I love bringing my pet here. The office and exam rooms are kept reasonably clean. The front desk staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The assistants are wonderful and great with the animals. The doctors really listen and take time to explain anything you want to know. Whenever I have to leave my puppy at the vet's, I feel comforted knowing she has such great people taking care of her! They are also very considerate about keeping your pocketbook in mind. I've never felt pressured to pay for an unnecessary procedure, test or product. Nor have I ever felt judged for declining anything. Every doctor I've seen here has simply laid all the recommended options out, and let me decide. It's usually easy to get last minute appointments here too if your really concerned about your pet, so long as you aren't too picky about who you see. That being said, Dr. John is my personal favorite. He has a very thorough and gentle way about him when it comes to the animal which I appreciate. The only downside I could point to would be the fact that it is a smaller location, so it can get a bit crowded in the parking lot or main lobby at times. But in my mind that's a minor issue compared to the wonderful quality of care you get!

Marine View is the kind of veterinarian practice you hope to find when you are looking for a team to take care of your furry family member. From the front desk to the vet techs and doctors they are a stellar team of compassionate, knowledgable and competent professionals. Both Dr John and Dr Felts have cared for my Alaskan Malamute and have never been intimidated by her size. Every visit we've made she's received a thorough physical exam and they always go over all options for treatment. I have never been pressured into costly tests or treatments. In fact I've found their approach is typically more conservative so if they recommend a costly test, medication or treatment I don't question it's validity. They are just good, honest doctors who want what's best for their patients and their families. My girl is extremely dog aggressive and can not be in a waiting room with other pups and they handle her limitations with grace and make me feel comfortable with the special accommodations they make for her. I've never once been made to feel like she's a burden or a bad dog because of this. If you have a dog like mine you will understand why this means so much to me. Can not imagine a better team of animal friends aka veterinarian staff exists anywhere on this planet. If you want to feel like you've hit the veterinarian office jackpot give them a call.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff! I am so thrilled that they are so close by! Will be my permanent vet from now on! Update 12/04/2020: I could sing their praises all day long. I had a terrifying emergency situation with my GSD and no emergency hospital had room to take her. Marine View is normally appointment only but due to the severity of the situation, they took her anyway and made room for her. I cant guarantee that will happen for another pet parent who is not an established client but just know, they are compassionate and care about your pets and will do all that they can.

I’ve yet to take my dogs here but I know that after talking with Tina for about 25 minutes on the phone this will be the place for our dogs! My sister has brought her pups here for over a year now and has had only positive to say about them and how they treat her fur babies. We went through a pretty bad experience with our youngest pup Zuko at a different establishment so naturally we had a lot of questions and concerns/trust issues when inquiring about bringing our girl Luna here for a surgery. Tina was extremely patient with me and answered every single question in detail. She was also very helpful giving as much extra information that would suit our specific needs! If a phone call and getting appointments set made this much of a positive impression I cannot wait for Luna’s first appointment and our future appointments with our other two dogs! Thank you!

Great experience with the Marine View Veterinary Hospital. The team was very nice and sweet to my pup. My pup and I were greeted with nice smiles and enthusiastic 'good afternoon' even though it was late Friday afternoon and it was gorgeous outside. Dr. Johnson was great in explaining what treatment should we do, for how long and why. Was concerned about my pup's weight and showed she really cares for her patients.

I have known Dr. Felts for years and have taken all my pets to him. He is extremely knowledgeable, caring and thorough. After many years of practice it is obvious that he is still very enthusiastic about his work and that he keeps updated in the field as well. Marine View Vet is like my second home. I have been going there almost 20 years. Both of my animals during that time were medically challenging. Unlike other vets that send you to specialists because they can't/won't try to heal your pet. The docs at Marine View work hard, very hard, on getting your animal stable and happy. She's very VERY difficult to control, but he was able to get her to let him check her out nearly completely with very little resistance and gave me as much information about her issues as I had hoped, as well as ideas for how to deal with her issues myself, options for what to do if these methods didn't work, which included tests that could be done, recommended immunizations that could be given and estimates for the cost. My roommate mentioned a place in Federal Way that would have been about $15 to $20 cheaper for a checkup, but that location doesn't do any in depth treatments and I didn't want to drive my cat any farther than I had to, and he might have been wrong about how much that place cost. This checkup was just over $50 and, although I didn't shop around at all (I just noticed they have a good rating on Google), I found that amount to be fair. I think I might ask around for pricing for any tests and procedures though since they are quite a bit more expensive...not that I'm saying the prices here are too high (it makes every bit of sense for that type of thing to cost lots more), just that I would want to compare with other highly rated veterinarians to be sure.

We originally chose Marine View Veterinary Hospital because of the short drive from our home. Our 7 1/2 year old chocolate lab rescue dog is so frightened of riding in any vehicle, so I went on-line to fine a place that could be the shortest ride possible. After reading all the reviews, I was sold! They all proved to be true! Even Hershey is dealing with the short ride and seems comfortable there. What a friendly place, from the moment you step in the door! The vets are so thorough in their exams, etc., and go over any problems with good explanations. After living in many states and visiting many different vets, our visit with Dr. Felts and the staff at Marine View has been the best I've ever had. I brought my dogs in for heartworm preventative and was seen by an actual vet. At some clinics I've been to, they will send in a technician and seeing a vet is an extra charge. Dr. Felts was amazing with my dogs. He was super informative so far as medication options and test options go. He presented options without making it sound like your dog was going to die if the tests didn't happen. You don't feel pushed into spending $1000 on unnecessary things, but all options are there for you. Additionally, one of my dogs is shy and takes a while to warm up to new people, specifically men. Being in new places makes him nervous. In the past vets were very quick to just muzzle him and push him quickly through the visit, but that only makes him MORE anxious. Dr. Felts was patient and understanding and let Mojo take his time getting used to him with some treats and soft words. No muzzle necessary! I was a little worried about the weight of my older dog and he said to feel free to drop in and pop her on the scale anytime if I want to track her weight. The entire staff is completely helpful, warm, and genuinely happy to be working in this office.
