I appreciate how they’re always willing to trouble shoot and to talk through problems before jumping to conclusions. The staff is excellent too — accommodating and patient. I recommend them highly.

I have been going here for over a decade, and I have literally never had a bad experience with Aurora Veterinary. Their care for my animals has always been amazing, and their compassion is evident. I love this place, and even though I have moved several times since I first started bringing my fur babies here, I make the drive because I just can’t imagine finding a better place. Their prices are fair, and they do their best to work with you to get your pets the care they need, even when cost is a concern.

These folks are so compassionate and wonderful. Came here at one of the worst moments of my life. Around 1 pm on a Wednesday, I was at work (bring her with me) came upstairs to find her seizing on the floor. Scooped her in my arms, bawling, driving to 2 other vets that were closed before running into this one. I tore in here, barely intelligible saying something like "please, please help me my baby no appointment!" The woman looked at my girl, got quick info from me "she'd been seizing for 10m now at least, and is 16 years old) and ran over to the vet and although he was with someone else and they were fully booked, he came over quickly, which of course, he didn't have to do. They rushed her into the back room and did everything they could. With all the Valium, they weren't able to stop the seizures which, the Dr informed me was probably indicative of something very serious, i.e brain tumour, organ failure, etc. I knew at this point euthanasia was the only reasonable option. I was crying like a dam letting loose in there. They gave me kind words, brought her over to me to say goodbye before the long goodbye. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I am so so so grateful for this staff and I will neve, ever forget them. I want to bring them a card and gift by but I couldn't even pick up the paw print myself yet. I walked in, ready to spend everything I had to save her. I walked out only paying $300 for everything (including the cremation and memorial paw print.) To know that they could charge whatever in that situation and it was more reasonable than I ever expected on top of everything. I had nine WONDERFUL years with my baby girl (wish I could've had her for all 16 of her little life) but I am so glad that these wonderful people were there to help me in the roughest time of my life. Thank you!

Privacy Matters

Each and every time I visit the Aurora Veterinary Hospital it is always the five star experience. The staff is always pleasant kind and professional. Dr Newton is one of the best doctors I've ever known. Her caring and common sense attitude is something of an anomaly and is truly a role model for her profession. I have been going to Aurora Veterinary Hospital for many years. They have always been great to me and my dogs. Unfortunately the business was just purchased by a corporation so things are changing here they no longer have service on Saturday and prices are going up. My spay that was quoted back in Late February Went up by about close to $200. It was a bit of a surprise when I came to pick up My pet. Surgery went well but $785.. For a 13 lb chihuahuas with no blood work is high.

Update Jan 2023: We have been able to get in as-needed for the past few months. It looks like they have made progress on scheduling issues. Still great vets and techs, who still provide great care. +++++++++++++++ Old review: Pros: excellent vets and techs, who provide excellent care. Cons: over-booked schedule. No same-day or next-day appointments. If your pet has a problem and needs an appointment sooner than a week out, you have to go to the emergency vet. The vets are too busy to talk on the phone or communicate directly except during appointments. This has resulted in delays in care for our pup, when he has an issue which isn't an emergency, but still needs an appointment or phone consult. I've gone to this vet for about 10 years, with multiple dogs. The over-booking issue is recent, and I am looking for another vet because of it.

I've been going to Aurora Vet for a while now and have always had a great experience, from the admin staff to the techs and doctors. Everyone is wonderful and it's clear they all care deeply about my dog's well being. My dog is very old, blind, deaf, senile, and incontinent. He has been this way for over a year and my life has revolved around taking care of him and it's just the two of us so it's been hard. I had an especially positive visit to the vet this past week where Dr. Newton showed great compassionate and understanding of our situation, and it really made me feel seen and heard and less alone. I was really touched that she clearly cared about my dog's well being but also mine. I've been to many vet clinics over the years and haven't ever really experienced this level of care. Aurora Vet Hospital has my highest recommendation. ❤️

I’ve been bringing my critters here for over 2 decades. Word of mouth advertising hooked me. I had just moved, and all my new neighbors RAVED ocer them. I wound up joining that group of supporters. This is NOT discount vet care. And it can be challenging on a fixed income. They’re pretty expensive. But I SO trust them. I don’t think I could go elsewhere. These are my babies. When I got them, I made a commitment to take care of them. And big box chains just don’t strike me as the sort of care I want or need. I’m sure they have some very competent people. Like many, we got a Covid puppy so our vet experience has been affected by pandemic guidelines. Even though I have yet to meet our vet in person, I feel like I know him! My pup Norman has been going here since we got him 7 years ago. We have seen many of the Veterinarians here and at this point I trust this place so much that he has been seen by whichever Veterinarian is available. We have only had exceptional care from this place. During this pandemic, they have been very thoughtful about safety for their guests and staff, requiring masks and that ppl wait outside. I am thankful for them doing their part implementing these safety measures while still taking really good care of our animals. Jessica always takes good care of my dog for his nail trims and glands. I prefer going here instead of a groomer. When Norman had to be seen suddenly for some back pain they were very accommodating even while still being very busy. Their customer service is exceptional and always kind. I even get text and email reminders for the things my dog may be due for. Their pricing is very reasonable and very considerate for the big city. We have had his teeth cleanings done here and the price is very fair, considering how expensive cleanings are. Lastly, today they took their customer service to the next level. My car battery died and they were so busy and I was so embarrassed. The staff were so kind and jumped to help me without hesitation. I wish I knew the gentleman’s name who jumped my car. Thank you!! Highly highly recommend this place!

I really had a good experience with my first visit here. I called to make an appointment on a Saturday morning, and was able to get a new puppy patient appointment for the following Monday (sweet!). They have separate dog and cat entrances, and greeted us very warmly. The vet was kind and very informative, and to the time to answer all of my new pet mom questions. My puppy was at ease the entire time. There's easy parking right in front, so nice when you have a reluctant pet that you might have to drag from the car.

I’ve been going here for 2.5 years now with both of my dogs, and this is my favorite vet clinic by far. All of the vets are great, the staff is wonderful and everyone is so knowledgeable. I can call whenever to ask (Prob stupid) questions, and they are always helpful. And concise. I’ve never once doubted that they are always acting in your pet’s best interest. Other vets I’ve been to have just tried to “advise” the most expensive options, but not them. Just what’s needed. Highly recommend.

Everyone at Aurora Veterinary Hospital is great, especially Dr. Bernstein. I originally became a client of AVH when I adopted a cat, about 10 years ago. They took fantastic care of her and helped me figure out why she was having so many GI issues. We eventually moved and had to find a new vet. After recently moving back to the area, we rescued a puppy and once again established care with AVH. They were able to get us in relatively quickly for our puppy's initial visit and a round of vaccines. This is where they really stood out. A few hours after her vaccines, our puppy seemed very lethargic and sensitive to touch. I called the hospital and was able to speak with Dr. Bernstein right away. He took the time to help make sure she wasn't having a life threatening reaction, and then told me to contact him later that night (even after the office closed) if things got worse. He even sent an email to check up on her before going to bed that night. Thankfully, it was just a normal puppy reaction to vaccines and she was completely fine the next day, but I was so grateful for his attention and care. He really went above and beyond. If you're looking for a vet in the North Seattle area, I would highly recommend AVH!

I really love these vets. From the first time we came, we were impressed by the way they treated their staff, us, and our cats. Our cats can be difficult but Aurora always made sure they had the care they needed and even caught a parasite we would have never noticed and got us a fix quickly. I trust to never upsell or gauge, just to give a comprehensive view of how to keep our cats healthy. They've earned our loyalty time and again in the last (almost) year, and we'll be coming to them as long as we live in the area. If you're trying to find a good vet, I would absolutely say go here.

I have taken my dog here since I got her, 8 years ago. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Dr. Casey Sewell is the doctor I usually see and he's just great with a great bedside manner. Also I used to take my dogs to Elliot Bay Animal Hospital but they were crazy expensive and would order every test in the book. Each visit was always $500, even if the dog had something minor. When I complained Elliott Bay just said "standard of care," which I thought was just BS. Aurora never pushes things on you and their prices are very fair. Their staff is wonderful They couldn't be any better.

I was referred to this animal hospital by a coworker. I LOVED this clinic!!! Dr Bernstein was so nice and knowledgeable. The exam room was meticulously clean. It was quiet and had a separate entrance for cats. The staff was very polite. They handled my cat with skill. The prices were reasonable. They called and got the records from my previous vet, which is important to note bc other clinics have made me call in the past. Very glad my cat is healthy, but would definitely go back to this vet.

Well... after writing a rather annoyed review several months ago, I'm retracting it and writing a very appreciative review. Today I had to bring my cat in for an actual health emergency, breathing problems. They were extremely gracious about the immediacy, and despite being booked they allowed me to bring my cat in during the lunch hour to be checked out. The vet was very patient with me, explained what she thought was going on, called up the animal hospital I took him to last time this happened to get the records, and then discussed what she felt was the best approach to handle the issue. Dr Smith was very patient with me, despite my previous review, and they have helped me keep my cat healthy while also saving me more than $1600, which was the cost of the visit to the animal hospital last time around.

He performed additional research for us to make sure his recommendations reflected the best advice, went out of his way to be available to us while we were trying to determine how best to proceed, and clearly put our dog's health over any other priority. He was also very candid about what was truly necessary vs. luxury when it came to cost and approach. We ultimately went to a specialist, but Dr. Bernstein will always be our primary vet and first point of contact based on this and other excellent experiences.

My kitty, Clovis, is definitely a handful when on the spot for examination, vaccines, and blood/urine draws. This was my first visit to Aurora VH and I am more 100% than pleased with our experience!
