Lovely people, lovely place! I adopted my sweet bunny here and I couldn’t be happier. She came spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and well cared for. All of the staff members were so kind and helpful. Lauren was helping me and she was so willing to answer all of my questions. She was very knowledgeable as well! I wasn’t planning to adopt so quickly, but they have such sweet animals and I just fell in love. The shelter is very clean and I can tell that the workers really care about the animals. The Humane Society of Utah is a great organization to support!

I love this shelter because its so easy to walk through and interact with the animals. They seem so loved and well cared for. I love that that vaccines and boosters are at the same location. I have a 6 year old cat from this shelter and just recently adopted these two sweet bunnies. They are adorable, sweet and well trained.

All the staff were very very friendly and helpful. They're about to close and they rushed me in really quick to get our dogs Final Shots. GREAT experience. I thought after I saw 10 other people/dogs that it was going to take forever. I was in and out in 20 minutes for an updated rabies shot. Thank you so much for the speedy service and being so good with my dog👏👏👏 and make sure to check in at the red tent even during lunch. An amazing volunteer got me a form to fill out! I'm so grateful for the Humane Society! I came in looking for a full grown cat that already had a developed personality, While he was a bit anxious at first, he settled right in at home. The humane society did an awesome job reminding me that the first 3 days, first 3 weeks, and first 3 months can be challenging. Animals, just like humans, take time to adjust and it takes time for the relationship to blossom. I found the sweetest best friend here. I work from home and never knew how much joy having a cuddle buddy all day could bring! Always adopt not shop!

The Humane Society of Utah is amazing! They truly care for their dogs, and I loved adopting my pal Maverick from them! At first, there were a few dogs I was interested in meeting from their website. I went to the main adoptions area, told them each of the dog's names I was interested in, then they told me some brief info about each dog, brought the dog out, gave me their leash and I went with each dog to the dog run, where I could meet each dog one-on-one to get to know them! I meet several dogs, but after I met Maverick, I knew he was special. I had been going around to several shelters and rescues, so I knew what I was looking for. From there the adoption process was so easy. I scanned a QR code from my phone, and filled out the application for Maverick.They then took me back to explain some key information, had me sign a contract where I paid for him and then I got to take him home! He was already neutered, had all his shots, and was totally healthy when I got him! It was all so quick and easy! I highly recommend this place to get your dogs!

An amazing place, populated with amazing volunteers. My niece and nephew loved looking and petting the animals. Please donate to the organization if you can. They're doing a wonderful job. I can only imagine how difficult it is to work with so many animals who need homes.

They did a great job at fixing my pup at an affordable price! As well as cleaning his teeth and clipping his nails while he was sedated. I felt the pain pills for after the surgery were over priced and we had to get on a wait list months in advance, but other than that, great experience. **If you liked this review or thought it was helpful, give it a thumbs up. 👍thanks!

This is the 2nd time we have used the vaccination clinic (the first time was 3 years ago). We were still in their system and getting vaccines for our two dogs couldn’t have been easier! I love that it is “walk in”, so no appointment means you can go when it’s convenient for you to go! We walked right up, signed in and in 5 minutes, we had paid, received vaccines and were on our way! The staff is very friendly and cost is very reasonable!There is also a nice area adjacent to the parking lot for walking your pets. It is a large park-like setting. If you don’t have time to wait for a vet appointment and all you need is a vaccine for your pet, I recommend coming here!

A little over a month since adopting Mahdi and he is so adorable. We lost our cat almost 2 years ago and decided to adopt again. We have two dogs and another cat and even though they are all still getting used to him, he is very chill and calm during the process. He stood under our bed for a while and only came out at night but he is now to the point of being comfortable coming out of the room any time of the day. He loved being petted, loved to get his body scratched/massager with our nails. He loves to purr and makes biscuits. His purr is very intense compared to what my current cat does or my cat that we lost. Overall we just love him.

We got our dogs vaccinations at the Human Society until we recently moved out of state. Our experience was perfect. We never had to wait long, the price was great, the staff was informative, professional and quick! And they all love animals, you can tell. If I still lived in Utah I would continue driving the 40 minute drive because our experience was that good, every time.

Staff was not only professional but very kind and friendly especially to my elderly small dog. The walk-in vaccination check-in and procedure is quick and clean. Total time from parking the truck and getting back in the truck was probably 15 minutes. Affordable as well. The Humane Society even cares enough to have canvas shade areas with mist sprayers and water bowls available that are much needed with this scorching heat. Thank you to staff and sponsors of the Humane Society.

The Humane society has been the best place for vaccinations. Not only are they less expensive, but I am in and out quickly with updates on vaccinations and when to return. I even get email reminders which helps me plan to keep my dogs up to date. The techs there are so great in approaching my dogs and talking to them before taking them back. As for neutering, I have had a great experience. My dog was well cared for after a check up from the vet and post op care was explained well. They even called to check up on us a few days later and see if I had any new questions.

This place was wonderful. All the staff/volunteers we met were friendly, helpful and really seemed to care about the animals. We went on three occasions and we were able to adopt the cutest little kitten. We just love him and plan on spoiling him rotten for many years to come. Thank you for making that possible.

My dogs was spayed at the Humane Society of Utah. It was little tough to get an appointment since they are so busy. About 10 days before the appointment my dog went into heat so I had to cancel and feared I would have trouble getting a new appointment but they postponed it and got me in a few weeks later. This is my second dog spayed there and both went smoothly and the suture was almost invisible. When I get my next dog in 10 yrs or so, I'll be going there again. I go annually for vaccinations and they're always quick, convenient and less expensive than my regular vet.

I've always loved the Utah Humane Society for their mission and the incredible efforts they'll go to in order to help families keep their pets when possible, and lovingly rehome the pets when it's not. They made some great suggestions to make sure our dog, Gille was a good fit for our family. Juli Ulvestad was such a wonderful resource that we sent our daughter to the Utah Humane Society camp last year and we foster kittens, bunnies and mice for the Foster Department there. We're big fans! Thank you to all the dedicated staff who work so hard to give the animals a good and (hopefully) long and healthy life.

Every time I come to the clinic I have an exceptional experience. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, they are always on top of when and what vaccinations my dog needs and I even get reminders through the mail is she has one coming up. Check in is simple and it it has never taken more than 15 minutes for me to check in and have my dog seen for her vaccinations and out the door. Highly recommend this fantastic clinic and organization.

The price is good, but the service is not always up to par. Please note that you most likely will not speak to a vet personally and won't be allowed back with your animals. My cats have been to the Humane Society twice so far this year, the first time my husband took them for their first shots and the second time we took the cats together. During the first visit, one of my cats had an accident in the pet carrier. Staff told my husband that they would take care of it, but absolutely nothing was done and my cat was left to sit in the mess. For the second visit, my cats left happy, but still no contact with the vet for either visit just the staff that takes the animals back. This is one of the cheapest places to get veterinary care, and it's good service for that price bracket. That being said, we will be looking for a different vet in the future so that we talk to the vet, get to know more about our cat's health and feel like there is a thorough exam done and not just the yearly shots.

From getting an appointment online to the reminders and easy rescheduling if needed up to the day of the appointment. They are organized, friendly and do care about the animals they treat. I have taken many feral cats in and the experience was great every time. My husband took in our latest feral and said it was easy and pleasant for a first timer.

We just bought a puppy and took him to the humane society for all his puppy vaccinations and we have an appointment to get him neutered here as well. Shauna who checked us in and rang us up for his visit was SO SO nice and helpful!!! She totally made our day. The entire staff here is very kind but Shauna especially went above and beyond for us!! I needed an alternative besides our local vet for our new puppy’s vaccinations. I was pleasantly surprised to find the Human Society provides walk in appointments. We were in and out within 20 minutes and the price is so reasonable. My dogs and I will definitely be going back for the convenience and price.

It was our first time bringing our Basset Sherlock in for his shots. Everything was so well organized, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Sherlock is a bit of a drama queen, but they took all of his howling in stride. We will definitely be back! I recommend this clinic to everyone!

I took my friend and her dog in for a spay and the people there really do care totally put the dog at ease and when we picked her up later that afternoon she looked great and was ready to go! She's doing just fine. We love the humane Society we donate to them and the ASPCA regularly if you love animals and want to donate to a worthy cause that's the place and no they did not ask me to plug donations on their behalf, I'm just an animal lover that thinks all animals deserve a chance! 💜🙏

This place is amazing! I was able to get shots for my kitty within 20 minutes of a walk-in and was in and out! I also got her spayed there and they were great! Went in for my dogs vaccines. I signed up, maybe waited 5 minutes & was out of there just as quickly! My dog has severe anxiety when at the vets so she needed a muzzle. Also I dropped off another cute 3 year old tabby cat at Utah Humane society with his tail severely injured and I made sure this poor kitty got into a shelter that puts the animals first and 200% no kill. HSU is awesome. I’ve been taking my dogs here for years. I’ve adopted 3 dogs from here. The staff is super friendly and know their stuff. They always take the time to explain what’s going to happen and then what to expect after. When adopting dogs they are friendly and let you take your time to make sure your new friend is going to work in your home.

My family has wanted a dog for awhile now, We've gone to the Humane Society at this point every week for the last 2 months trying to find that perfect new family member. Earlier last week on our trip, we sat down in one of the "meeting rooms" to spend time with a little mixed breed girl they called "Kiba". I said to my wife "with a name like that she's gonna have a sassy personality." We spent the next 15-30 minutes introducing ourselves to "Kiba" and falling more and more in love with each passing moment. We made a choice that day to be "Kiba's* forever home and she chose us! It's been the most insane journey to find the perfect companion for our family and thanks to the Humane Society and all the amazing work those incredible volunteers put in We're happy to say we've had the most amazing experience on our journey to grow our little family!

Utah Humane Society of Utah is such an important organization for Utah! For years our family and extended family have adopted animals, used their vaccination services and donated. I have 18yr old litter mate cats still going strong and countless family members with their loving companions from the humane society. They take such care to screen adopters and make sure the best fit for the animal is paramount. During the first stent of COVID I had to get our new puppy fixed. Our vet wanted an outrageous price. I called here and they were able to get me booked in 90 days. They took excellent care of our fur baby. The drop off and pick up process was easy. They kept me updated every step of the way.

Came in for a walk-in rabies vaccination for my dog and everything was done in a jiffy. It only took me 5-7 minutes to do the whole process. Everyone was friendly except for the desk lady who calls people to come in with their dogs (she's probably not having a good morning that time we were there.) Oh well, overall it was a good experience. Thank you Humane Society of Utah for the services you offer!

Went to the Utah Humane Society to volunteer to walk a dog (any dog needing walking). We were matched with Milo and spent a VERY ENJOYABLE 25 minutes tossing a ball with Milo and walking him on a leash around the grounds. Definitely coming back to volunteer to walk the dogs again!!

Great receptionist as always, speedy process and kind, asked if my dogs ears could be checked and unfortunately unable to do. I was concerned about moving out of state for Virginia and needed to make sure no issues or concerns until I find a new clinic there. I was not given the contact info in Fairfax Virginia, guess just have to search and ask.

I love that Utah Humane Society does not euthanize any healthy or treatable animals. It's one of the very few animal care facilities I'm willing to donate my hard earned money too. They're not affiliated with H.S.U.S. who are nothing but a money begging scheme.

I initially had a good experience until my wife went to look at the cat we wanted to adopt. She took my 2 little daughters and was told by staff the cat wouldn't fit for us. We had no problems with the cat as we visited. I had to go back again and assure them this was the cat we wanted. They were sure this cat would bite us. We have had him for a week and he is one of the most loving cats I've ever owned. Our daughters love him and it's been a great experience for us. I just wish it wouldn't have been such a struggle to get him.

Staff was friendly and helpful and I saved quite a bit of money going to the Humane Society instead of a regular vet for this service. I hope they're able to resume spay and neuter surgeries soon.

What a great business for your cats and dogs. I have only used the dog clinic. But they neutered my dog and gave him a chip. I have gotten all his immunizations from there since he was 8 weeks old. They are very patient and calm with all the animals. I have even been able to go back with them when my boy was too nervous. Can be very smelly in some of the rooms. Just expect to wait around to get paperwork processed. The experience is better when they aren't overloaded with lots of animals to take care of. Prices were very reasonable in the little shops they have set up. I adopted a very sweet cat from here last fall. She was sick for a few weeks with a sneeze after leaving the shelter. I go back occasionally to say hi to the cats and small dogs. Some are very scared and need some love to open up.

They were really helpful. My wife tried to call several times and left messages to try to make an appointment for a stray we found who had a chip from them. When they didn’t get back to us, we decided to go in person. The lady said that they only do appointments. When my wife explained the situation and that she had tried to make an appointment, the lady was kind enough to help us anyway. She scanned the cat and told us that he was part of their TNR program and that we could go back home and release him or keep him. Now Crookshanks is a member of our furry family and he couldn’t be happier.

Our service was so good this last Saturday, i feel like i should share our good experience. I thought i was going to beat the Saturday rush and get to the Humane Society early before they opened at 9AM. When i arrived at 8:50 there was already a line forming at the door. Rather than wait i let the line grow and walked around the grounds with my pup which were actually pretty nice. When we went into the waiting room at 9, it was overwhelming the amount of people and doggos that were there. The staff did such an amazing job of keeping order. They made sure everyone had their proper forms, asked if you'd been there before so they could look up your information quickly. They were SO FAST getting dogs in and out for their vaccinations. Even with how quick and efficient they were, when i had a question the vet tech took her time to explain the answer to me and did not make me feel rushed. We were out of there before 9:30 which was crazy impressive to me seeing the amount of people that were in there to begin with. Humane Society did an amazing job with my sweet baby angel.

I did the walk-in vaccinations for my dog, Koda. He has a regular vet but we needed to update his records immediately because he needed to be boarded while we will be out of the country. We couldn’t get an appointment soon enough for him (the vaccinations needed to have been done at least two weeks before the trip to be boarded safely), so we were told the the Humane Society had walk-ins. I was so surprised at how fast they did the shots! We literally spent a total of 10 minutes from the check in, to payment, to our Koda trotting happily back to us as we returned to the car. He was in the back for his shots for 2 minutes. We never even needed to sit down. This was the biggest lifesaver. Plus, the staff were friendly and kind to Koda. We did visit the clinic at 9:30 am, so 30 after they opened for walk-ins. He needed two shots -rabies update and bordetella- and it was $50 dollars.

They do not profit from these services and they are the only way for poor people and temporarily poor struggling people to take carevof their beloved pets. Give to these people. Or volunteer. As a worker. Because youmay need their help on day too. I know I did. For 3 years. I'm doing better now. But without them. My little dog (Jasper) would have suffered because of financial difficulties that were outside of my control. Goodness is rare in this world. Support it. We adopted Lucky a yellow Lab 3 weeks ago to replace our beloved 11 1/2 year old lab mix. lucky is our 8th rescue dog in 50 years of marriage and our second from the Humane Society of Utah. I am a firm believer in having a dog that needs me as much as I need them. The folks at HSU were as concerned as we were that Lucky would have a smooth transition. The shelter has very long hours, leaving plenty of time to visit after work. Everything is kept clean, the cats have adequate space and very nice rooms to stay in. They are well cared for, given plenty of toys, and some of them get the extra attention they might need due to medical conditions. My wife and I used to come here regularly to visit the cats and keep them company for a while. We ended up adopting a cat and the process was very easy. The employees were very helpful and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed before sending us off. Despite this being a shelter, the animals really aren't too unhappy to be there. The employees make sure the cats get along well when pairing them up in the rooms to avoid fights.

Always clean and staff is friendly. All staff are wonderful with animals! They interact so well with everyones pets. One of my dogs is pretty aggressive towards strangers and they still treated him with love and respect and were able to work with him and calm him down. Because of short-staffing things take a little longer (not by much) and actual services offered are slightly limited. The Humane Society definitely offers much needed services for our community and needs donations to continue to be excellent.

Super nice employees! One of my dogs is very big and has arthritis and I worried about getting her out of the car on my own since I'm not very strong and can't easily help her out. The employees were more than happy to vaccinate her IN the car! They called her pretty and sweet and were petting her during the vaccination which was great for keeping her calm. While walking over to my car, my other dog (who is old) was struggling down the front steps and the 2 ladies walking with me were cheering him on. It was an overall great experience, and there was barely any wait time. Definitely taking my dogs here for the rest of their future vaccinations.

This shelter has been absolutely awesome! While other shelters are appointment only or just flat out lazy and closed with Covid as an excuse, Utah Humane Society has been finding homes for animals of all ages this whole time! I know this for a fact because for over 2 months its been peak kitten season, and I have been seeking a new kitty fur baby to adopt. I have seen a few that I wanted, however I would go home to think about the kittens I saw and the next day they would be gone! I am happy they are all finding homes but I highly suggest checking the website for available pets (updated hourly), or even plan to stop by a few times every week. That's how I finally found my kitty soul mate Bo last week. The workers knew a lot about his personality, history, and health. Most importantly overall, every kitten I have seen at the humane society has been well adjusted, confident, and comfortable. I am beyond ecstatic to have found my little boy Bo at Utah Humane Society.

I felt they cared for my pet and were very thorough. I will continue to take my dog there for vaccines. My only complaint was related to Covid restrictions, including masks. Chairs had been removed from the waiting room with social distancing (standing only). Since they were busy, it was a hot summer day, and my age made this a bit difficult for me. I assume they were following decrees but it still interfered with my experience. I will be returning there for the next Rabies vaccine and I hope it remains as it was before the nightmare of 2020.

I was blown away at how efficient this place is! When I arrived, there was a long line outside the building which went pretty quick. Then I had to wait inside, also fairly quick. I had two vaccines, microchipping, and a heart worm test. My total time there was less than an hour and a big chunk of that was waiting for the test results! I was incredibly impressed.

I was fostering a kitten he was feral and ver under weight when got him. I had him about 6 weeks. It was a process...he hated being touched, i had to give him medicine 3 times a day where i had to wrap him in a blanket and force nasty tasting stuff diwn his throat. It was traumatic for both of us. I had never foster anything but i had been raised with lots of animals and nursed variuos critters through my childhood. I was able to have a break through with a little stuffed mouse toy and a laundry basket. I got him chasing the toy around the basket and letting me touch him with the toy...from there it was easy...i have scars so not super easy but everyday was better. When i dropped him off at the humane society to get neutered i asked what time i could pick him up. The girl said that as soon as he woke up he would be put out on the floor to be adopted...i ...well honestly i felt like i had been punched in the stomach. He was in a crate in her hands. I didnt even get to say good bye... She said she would call me to tell me how his surgery went. I dont remember the drive home.....i walked into my house and collapsed on my couch and cried. I didnt get to say goodbye. He must be so scared. He doesnt know anyone. He is going to be in pain when he wakes up...i really worked my self up...i went on facebook and poured my dramatic little heart out...then one of my brilliant friends said why dont YOU adopt him? Oh my gosh the thought had not even occured to my silly over emotional self lol. So guess who is sitting next to me😁 he is my sweet very spoiled boy💓

We went to have our little dachshund Abigail put down. She was very old. My daughter and I knew it was time, she was so old and lived a good life. It's always hard to say goodbye to your babies and this was our last good-bye. The staff was wonderful, some cried with us. They could see how much we loved our old girl even came out to see if she could go on any longer but it was time to say goodbye. They have cremation services available or they will let you take your pet home and bury them there. We chose to have her cremated. My daughter was so upset. She said that we forgot to have her paw prints taken, they included that in a card the cremator sent with her cremation box an ashes. We couldn't have been more happy with the services provided. I would recommend their services to anyone who has to say goodbye to their loved one. The Humane Society is there for you through the whole process. If you have to put down a pet, a family member, one of your hairy babies, I highly recommend the Humane Society. The were above and beyond excellence. They were so helpful and walked us through everything. It was one of the worst days, but they were all there for us and that means a lot while you're grieving the loss of a loved one..

The Humane Society of Utah has always been great with both my dogs. This is especialy appreciated with my dog Jade who I brought their for shots recently for shots. She is very anxious, doesn't like going there, and responds by barking loudly. The employees are always still polite and patient with the noise. I am thankful that they always seemingly happly perform whatever services we come for, though some of the other patrons may be unhappy with the barking. Thank you!!

Those looking to surrender a pet; there is an interview process prior to your appointment to determine if your pet will fit into their program. If they do not fit the criteria set by The Humane society then your pet could be denied access to their program. If this is your plan Z for your pet, then be sure you make enough time for a plan Z² in case your pet does not pass the interview screening. That being said, this helps keep their shelter as one of the best in Utah for the animals they have there.

December I had to put my baby down to rest. She was my world. It was the hardest decision of my life. Although the staff and vet was extremely kind and sympathetic I struggled with the fact I couldn’t hold her while she was given her last breath. It’s policy. I just wanted to warn all others it’s not in their policy to give the pet owner the ability to hold your beloved pet as they are administered the drugs. She cried and looked at me all the while policy was enforced. She was 3 lbs. she wouldn’t harm an ant. If you can please take a pet to a vet that allows you the opportunity to be the last person that holds them when they take their last breath. Also there isn’t a soothing shot (that calms the pet) prior to the final. That in itself was hard. To feel them breath but sleep before given the final shot gives a relief they don’t know what’s happening. Also gives you time before their last breath (the final euthanasia shot). Just beware it is very hard and different than going to a brick and mortar veterinarians office. Although the staff was kind. Just beware it was very different than my other euthanasias I’ve experienced.

I told the clerk I was considering breeding my russian blue and she still repeatedly gave unsolicited advice that felt more like a an attempt to shame and scare me into adopting her opinion given the situation. I had my 5.5 month old retriever spayed. When they brought her out to me, she had fecal matter smeared all over her backside, legs and tail. It was very crusty and took a lot to get it off. I was very surprised that they did not clean her up before bringing her out to me, especially since they educate you to keep the incision clean and dry. The incision itself is small but not brought together very cleanly. I will be keeping a close eye on it to be sure it grows together as it heals.

My experience with the Humane Society was good! I took my puppy in for some vaccinations, and it was super quick and easy. (I was a walk-in). Only thing I was a little confused about (mostly because I am unfamiliar with vaccinating puppies) is that her 6 week vaccinations did not count because she was not old enough. So we have to do an extra round of vaccinations. Other than that, staff was quick and efficient and it took them seriously less than a minute to get her vaccinations done.

We love the Humane Society! It's much cheaper to get shots and spay/neutering done here and they do a great job! They are friendly and great to work with. Our dog was neutered at the Humane Society and he was wearing a cone but he could twist his body and lick his incision. I called the Humane Society and the lady laughed and called my dog a "little stinker" and gave us a bigger cone for free. Thanks Humane Society!

Update! Still excellent. We go there for vaccines (per our vets recommendation due to less clinic appointments d/t CV and it is hard to get in). The clinic is always clean, staff is mostly friendly- we have encountered a few “rough around the edges” staff, but I try and give them the benefit of the doubt. We all have bad days at work- unless it is the same person who is cranky! Even if they have been a little off, they always live on the animals- sometimes I like animals more than people too! ;) I would not hesitate to go here. They are a valued and needed service for the community. Thank you! We got a new puppy and went in during walk in clinic hours to start the shot series. They were friendly, and fast to get us checked in. The lobby was roomy, enough for many doggies and smelled nice. They have a separate entrance for dogs and cats so there isn’t any upset fur babies. The wait was about 10 min max and we went back(you can wait or go back) the vet was very friendly and very informative. It was also just as clean in the back. We will be coming here for all our vaccines instead of paying more for the same service. Thank you!!
