Dr. Jessica Thompson is great and her staff is always friendly, professional and attentive. I recently brought one of my cats in to them for the first time and I was so impressed with how well they handled her (she can be *ahem* difficult at the vet). I was very concerned that she may have contracted a deadly disease from one of my foster kittens and Dr. Thompson was quick to run a simple cbc to give me the peace of mind that she was okay (just an upper respiratory infection). I know they are absolutely slammed and their schedules are booked tight so that they can help as many pets as possible, so I would highly recommend getting to your appointment on time or even better, a few minutes early. If you are more than ten minutes late they will have to reschedule your appointment to protect the quality of care that they provide to other patients. Having personally worked in animal sheltering and with many special needs pets of my own I have so much empathy for vets, techs, and vet assistants always but especially over these past two years. I’m writing this review because a little appreciation can go a long way, and vet clinics are chalk full of under-appreciated, overworked heroes. Thank you Dr. Thompson and Vista Pet Hospital staff

I’ve been there twice to get my bunnies neutered. The staff was so welcoming and kind on the phone and in person. My bunnies surgeries went smoothly, and they recovered nicely. Also a plus, the most affordable price I could find. I’ve recommended to a friend who had the same good experience. Bunnies surgeries can be scary and stressful but they know what they’re doing .

Vista Pet Hospital in collaboration with imaginepeaceforpups.org helped us with getting Loki Cat neutered. Loki did not appreciate losing his man bits, and we hated putting him through that, but I. The end, he'll have a less stressful life, there will be fewer unwanted and feral kitties around, and we won't have to deal with his territorial assertions! I love this vet office and so do both of my boys! I have two male dachshunds that are boisterous and stubborn but not a challenge for the staff at Vista Pet Hospital. They always take such good care of my dogs! They make loving efforts to make sure they’re comfortable and feel safe. I don’t worry about my dogs being mistreated or neglected. The staff is wonderful! They are always so friendly and accommodating. 10/10 would recommend!!

Since choosing Vista for the care of my pets, I have found the staff very friendly and patient with my frustrations for the care of my dog. On a fixed income it is difficult and the dog actually belongs to my son who doesn't take care of him. They have always fit him in on a tight schedule when I forgot to set an appointment for his monthly injection. One is always greeted with a smile upon entering and immediately checked in when you tell them your pets name. They are very good at explaining procedures, take time to talk and answer questions, and truly make me feel my dog is well taken care of every time I go. I also find anyone who goes there are also very friendly and I believe it is a reflection of how wonderful the staff treats everyone. Highly recommend them.

Shout out to Dr. Jessica Thompson! There is no one I trust with cats and kittens more than Dr. Thompson. I have worked with her for years and she takes the best care of my foster kitties. A few months ago, I had every foster's nightmare, which is a litter of four that tested positive for panleukopenia at 5 weeks old. Panleuk is super fatal for young kittens so I was fully prepared to lose some of the kittens if not all. I was devastated. I was also working with another vet at the time and I was really concerned by how little she planned to medicate and support these kitties. A friend of mine asked how she could help me and I asked if she could find me some shoeboxes, because if I had to take their little dead bodies to the vet I wanted to be able to carry them in something nice. That's how mentally prepared I was to lose them. Dr. Thompson came to the rescue, telling me how much more she would do with antibiotics, fluids and supportive care than what they were getting from the other vet. I had them transferred to Dr. Thompson and we were in touch daily for many days. She answered every one of my crazy questions and was there for quick support with med refills too. Every one of those kittens SURVIVED panleuk and they are now in adoptive homes in two pairs, completely healthy. I owe it all to Dr. Thompson. I can't think of anyone who would have fought harder for those kittens. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Dr. Thompson was absolutely wonderful in helping me with Penny. I feel Penny got the best care and was not offered any treatment options that were not needed or necessary. I am so thankful. The staff here are all so wonderful and kind. I've never felt pressured into anything extra financially, there's always been a discussion and explanation for anything they felt might be helpful. They've even told me before that my cats teeth didn't need cleaning yet, instead of just booking me an appointment. I really appreciate the transparency I feel on my pets care, they communicate wonderfully and the care is reasonably priced. This will be our preferred vet for sure.

Pleasant experience! I appreciated them getting my dog in early on a cancelation list- since he was getting worse rapidly after seeing urgent care vet 5 days prior. Vista Pet vet was spot on with diagnosis and treatment of his foot injury. He was feeling better in no time with the appropriate treatment! All staff seemed happy and helpful. They helped me with one of my cats, understood when I could not get my cat in his carrier in time, and squeezed us back in when my pet was more cooperative. If you want a vet who will genuinely care about your pet at least as much as you do, go to Dr Jessica Thompson at Vista. I saw tears in her eyes when she diagnosed our kitten with a deadly illness (FIP), and then I saw her do absolutely everything in her power to save our kitten's life, even when most vets would have said there was nothing more they could do. Dr Thompson is good at her job, but you can tell it's not just a job for her. She really cares for animals with her whole heart. I trust her completely with our pets and recommend her with 100% confidence.

Lexi, our Yorkshire Terrier, had a limp in her left rear leg for about 3 years. She was diagnosed with arthritis by a different veterinarian clinic and given a prescription, but we didn’t see much of an improvement. We took her to see Dr. Thompson at Vista Pet Hospital and within 5 minutes of her first visit Dr. Thompson told us that she felt bone-on-bone rubbing and we happily agreed to have an X-ray taken. After confirming the diagnosis we agreed to have Femoral Head Osteotomy (FHO) surgery. The surgery was on September 16, 2022 and the result has been profound. Lexi started to act pretty frisky after 2 weeks and by 4 weeks she was running and playing with all 4 legs. Just recently she has started kicking the grass up after she potties and she hasn’t been able to do that for years. Dr. Thompson has dramatically improved our Yorkie’s quality of life and we highly recommend her and the clinic. The support staff are also amazing. Thank you to everyone for helping our girl. ❤️

I don't have any suggestions or complaints, I am incredibly happy with the care provided to my cat. The veterinarian is a rock star! She caught a serious problem that another vet had missed, which saved my precious boy's life. She took time out of her already booked day to see him and when we talked after his exam, she didn't rush and she explained everything very thoroughly. Bonus - I felt the cost was definitely fair. Dr. Thompson and her staff are friendly, efficient, compassionate and it's quite apparent how much they care about the animals they treat. Thank you for saving Oliver, twice now! However, everyone I have interacted with has been incredibly helpful, and provided really great care for my pets through routine checkups, surgeries, and post-op care. I was desperate to find a vet that could spay my poor pregnant cat whose babies had died in the womb. Emergency vets wanted $1000's to do the procedure and I thought I was going to have to put her down because I simply couldn't afford it! My vet recommended I reach out to this clinic and I'm SO glad I did! They did the procedure within one day and now my baby is home recovering. The first thing for me is reasonable prices. So often I agonize over "to go or not?". Second is "is my baby comfortable there?". Finally, "how are staff and medical personnel with my baby?". My pet is my baby. I want the best for her. I'm on SSD. "Can I afford this?". At VPH I'm relieved because it all works as I need it too. They're great.

The vets and staff are absolutely amazing. We followed our vet here and are soooooo happy we did. The staff are friendly and provide a warm and welcoming environment for our dog. He does not like going to the vet but they make him comfortable and I can see they all truly care about his well-being. The vets are absolutely the same way and are straight forward with what is going on. Our dog recently had a double knee surgery and I would it trust any other vet as much as I trusted them to do it. Costs are at par or better than other places and you will know up front what to expect. I have seen some harsh reviews, but I think it’s because they are straight forward and don’t sugar coat what’s going and tell you the truth, which I really respect. If you are looking for a new vet so not look any further, this is THE place to go! Love you all for what you do!

We had a big scare with my cat. She went to an ER vet and was hospitalized for two days and was very expensive. I pulled her out and took her to vista. They got her an urgent appointment. After a few emotional days the doctor decided to hospitalize her again. I started getting really emotional and the doctor and her staff assured me they would take good care of her. Sure enough they did and came up with a treatment plan that was half the cost of ER vet. She is getting better each day. Staff and vet are super sweet.

Excellent pet hospital. We took our Chocolate Lab, Cappi, in today for some minor surgery. Dr. Gallagher explained everything to us, and we have a new dog this afternoon. The doctor is terrific and the staff are so friendly. And the price for everything was much more reasonable than the pet clinic we've always gone to. This is the best place on the west side of Portland.

I am so impressed! This was the best experience I have had at a vet clinic in the last 25 yrs! My dog got in a fight today at a dog park and was injured, but not an emergency. A couple hours after the fight I found a puncture wound, so I called my current vet. They had no appointments and suggested I call a bigger clinic, so I called my old vet. They also had no appointments available. I called an ER clinic who agreed it was not an emergency and told me what to look for in the next 48 hrs as an infection. I was not concerned but disappointed that vet clinics are so overwhelmed now that they aren't able to give care to their clients when there has been an accident. I took my dog to work with me to keep an eye on him and in a few more hours became concerned that this wound might be causing problems. My office is very near Vista Pet so I walked in with him to see if there was any chance someone could take a look. AND THEY DID!!! We were not current clients and they took care of him. This is the care I experienced at vet clinics decades ago and I am so thankful to have found such a caring, attentive clinic again. I can't say enough good things - everyone at Vista Pet was absolutely awesome!

I recommend this clinic tenfold. I have moved around a bit and it can get really hard moving between vets while trying to find the right prices and care at the same time. This place is affordable, welcoming, and my animal is happy. This vet also was able to explain to me that my dog was overweight in a very professional and motivating way. Instead of "she can stand to lose a few", it was a lot of kind words and resources that actually helped me understand.

I chose Vista because their spay procedure for a feline was $165 instead of $600 at Banfield. Vets encourage pet owners to spay/neuter their pets and apparently Banfield is making that choice difficult for pet owners. I plan to take my pets to Vista in the future as I met devoted pet owners in their waiting room who have nothing but praise for the ancillary and professional staff. The staff also determined that my feline female had the surgical scar indicative of a previous spay procedure.

I cannot put into words how much I appreciate this Hospital. Vista takes dental work for a local pet charity. They give their time, staff, supplies... everything to help pets with extenuating circumstances. I ended up with a tiny Chihuahua because she was being neglected. Vista did thousands of dollars worth of dental work for her. Covid made it less personable, but that's fine. I want to thank each and everyone of you at Vista. She made it thru the anesthesia fine, and is recovering well. THANK YOU, you are angels on earth!!

We have two French Bulldogs, and I wouldn't go anywhere else other than Vista Pet Hospital. Staff have always been competent, responsive, and quick to respond to any inquiry I may have over the phone. They follow-up promptly regarding medication, out-of-facility appointments (like emergencies at Dove Lewis), and blood work. For example one of my dogs ended up needing to go to Dove Lewis after being struck and pinned underneath a truck, and they still called to see how he was doing and the course of long-term treatment. They're well-managed, professional, and organized.

This is by far the best vet we've ever had. They are very great priced and also some of the kindest and most attentive staff! They always take such great care of my pets and always tell me how much they love them when we take them in. I have an 8.5 year old Havanese that I have been taking to Vista Pet Hospital since I brought her home nearly 3 years ago. Gigi is quite anxious and going to the vet isn’t something she looks forward to. The staff at Vista, especially Dr. Thompson, have always been SO fantastic with my sweet girl. Even when she made/makes their jobs especially hard, they were/are so incredibly patient with her and did/do not let her anxiety (and the behaviors her anxiety manifests as) interfere with the level of care they provide(d). Dr. Thompson is so patient with her and is very mindful of how far Gigi’s tolerance has been pushed and doesn’t push it too far. You can tell she has a wealth of experience working with dogs who are more fearful and timid from the way she talks to them to the way she handles them and how she provides care. From an owner’s perspective, she is so, so great at explaining everything to me and answering any/all questions I may have. I really cannot say enough great things about her or the clinic in general. I am so grateful for the care Gigi has received at Vista, especially with Dr. Thompson, and never hesitate to recommend them to fellow dog owners as there is nowhere and no one else I’d trust to take care of my sweet Gigi.

In June 2021 my 12 year old cat had a cancerous growth on his paw. It was bad. We went to a couple vets to get opinions what to do. Instead of telling us to put our loved one down, Vista Pet Hospital recommended amputation. We are so glad we found Vista. This place is amazing. They saved our Buddy Boy. He now has 3 legs and plays like a kitten again. Within a month he adapted to 3 legs. Their isn’t a better Vet hospital in Portland Oregon. Trust me. If a Vet quotes you 5,000 or more for a pet surgery, call these guys. Their prices will blow your mind. Thanks again Vista. I will send everyone I know your way. Vista rocks!

We've been taking our dog here since we adopted him, so Vista has seen him from 4 months old to a bit over 2 years old. We have had nothing but positive experiences with Vista Pet Hospital. The techs are so friendly and accommodating, the veterinarians are very knowledgeable, and their pricing is incredibly fair. Our dog hates the vet with a fiery passion and everyone at Vista always takes the time to make him feel as comfortable as they can. I even learned some good tips and tricks for trimming his nails at home (his other least favorite thing)! VPH has also been very quick to respond to any and all of my emails and voicemails when I had (usually routine) new dog owner questions. They were patient, explained everything in terms I could understand, and made time in their schedule for our dog if it was something more urgent. I'd genuinely recommend them for your pet :)

I'm a foster pet parent. Vista staff coordinated with the rescue and were ready for my feline foster family when we arrived. They sent me an update text when the surgeries were complete. Vista Pet is amazing! I have to say they are one of the best vet teams I have worked with. Their prices are fair and the staff is AMAZING! I am always appreciative of the care they give to my furry friend. They are patient and more than willing to take the time to work with us. We have had to be there a few more times than I would like these days but each time we come, I call or email I am treated with respect and care. They are always prompt when replying to emails and willing to work with me when I need to make appointments. When we first started coming my sweet furry friend was so afraid of everyone. They took the time to sit on the floor with us feed my fur baby the treats I brought from home and wait until he was calm enough to treat him. I cannot thank them enough for everything they have done for us and what they will help us through in the future.

I came in and sat down only to realize that I needed to fill out paperwork. I wasn't advised to do so. Other than that my kitten is healing great and there was perfect communication after she came out of surgery!

i have a young cat i needed to be spayed. i had been on a low-income spay waitlist for about 6 months and unfortunately i was not called by the time my poor cat started to get in heat. i called every vet in portland area trying to find a place to spay my cat that i could afford. i was quoted $700-900 everywhere. i finally called vista pet hospital and i was quoted about $170 for the whole process. not only that, but i was able to make an appointment MONTHS sooner than everywhere else i called. the person on the phone was very good-natured too. i brought my kitty in for my appointment, the front desk person was extremely sweet & friendly & complimented my cat’s name :,). the nurse(?) who came to bring her back answered my 20+ questions with patience & helpfulness. they promptly brought her back. i came back to get her a few hours later & was handed her back by a nurse(?) who was also very sweet. i was able to get a cone for my kitty for only $15 extra & they put it on for me. two weeks later & her incision is perfectly healed & shes a happy cat. HUGE thanks for being affordable, prompt, & kind. im so grateful. the only thing i would suggest, just as a worried anxious mama, would be if they had a separate waiting area for cats & dogs. there were a ton of barking dogs & it was making the cats in the waiting area pretty anxious. no big deal though! for credit, the person at the front desk was a young black lady with her hair in a low ponytail, she might’ve had glasses too; and one of the nurses had dark short hair; and the other nurse was of short height, and was bald(?) or very short hair. most importantly, i appreciate you ALL!! you eased a very stressful experience for me!!

One of my moms cats was dealing with some medical issues ( it was like super kidney stones or something idk) and we went to multiple other places to help him and ended up spending over 10k for nothing. We then took him here and they immediately figured out whats wrong, kept him for 2 days and gave us some medicine for him and he was good as new. Really wished we went to them first.

They have always been kind, patient, and caring with my pets, answering my litany of questions, and providing options for my pets care so that I feel like I'm part of the conversation. Recently, I had to say goodbye to one of my dogs and I can't commend Vista and their staff enough for helping me through that process. Their staff gave me plenty of time, space, and communication to help say goodbye to my dog and made an incredibly emotional process be as calm and comforting as possible.

Vista is on the more affordable end of the vet scale and the vets and technicians are good. I really appreciate how responsive they are to questions by email or phone, and that it's pretty easy to book an appointment - one of my cats had been going to a different practice for several years but after her vet moved away and at that practice it became impossible to schedule even urgent care visits sooner than a month out, I switched her back to Vista. They've been able to see her promptly and are working with us on addressing some persistent health problems. Did I mention how good they are at responding to questions?

I cannot thank Vista Pet Hospital enough for all the times I am bringing feral cats, community cats, and rescue cats in to be seen, sometimes with very little notice, with both routine type issues or urgent care needs, or being able to get me on the schedule within just a few days for procedures like dentals or exams for sick rescued kittens. Dr. Thompson and Dr. Mills have been incredible flexible with seeing these cats. There have been ferals or community cats that have needed full mouth extractions due to stomatitis, emergency exams and euthanasia for feral/community cats and low income pets due to serious injury or disease, and emergency treatment for outdoor kittens being ravaged by panleukopenia, pneumonia, and other infections. They have also been incredibly flexible with letting cat owners be present for the euthanasias, which isn't as common post Covid and is greatly appreciated. I also appreciate how every time I go to Vista, it is a mini educational experience. All my questions are answered and explained and I feel that the care all the animals I am bringing in are getting top notch care. The admin staff is also extremely easy to work with, either via email, text or phone - my messages are never lost and always returned. I appreciate the extra mile the whole staff, veterinarians, techs, and admin staff goes to for all their animal clients and will continue to take my cats and kittens there.

Communication is Not their fortè, and not much attempt was made to meet me or to discuss findings after the visit even though it was very clear how concerned I was with my cat's symptoms. I love this place! They have great doctors and fair prices. My kitty was very sick for about a month, to the point where I thought she might die. What was originally misdiagnosed by a different clinic as a cold (for a very high fee, might I add) turned out to be an oral infection that spread to my cat’s sinuses.This clinic, specifically Dr. Tran, was the one to finally figure it out and get my kitty back to health! Dr. Tran was also super nice and I could tell she really had my pet’s best interest at heart. Vista’s pricing was also more than fair. I was going through a tough time having recently been laid off, so I was worried I wouldn’t be able to afford treatment. But Vista actually waved my exam fees several times and gave me great prices on meds! And I know a lot of other places charge more than double what I paid for my cats oral surgery. I am so grateful for everything they did for my cat! And I’m glad I didn’t have to go into debt to pay for treatment. I’ll definitely be taking my cat here for the rest of her life.

I had a dog to have neutered and since then I have gone back because of the wonderful place they are. How can I expect my pets to feel comfortable if I didn't in a vets office? I do and as much as they can be comfortable out of their home they seem fine. I love the house cats and dog there as well. Also was there when my sister had to put her kitty down. Even that as sad as it was for us, the Dr. and staff helped us through the whole ordeal. They also make it easy on the pet going to heaven. I got my lab spayed for a lot less money than anywhere else that I checked. They were professional, treated my dog very well and sent her home with great pain medication. Within 24 hours she was back to her normal self with everything healing great. When we had a minor problem, they were very responsive and quickly got us what we needed. They have good pandemic systems in place but they don't let them interfere with their care or with their contact with pet owners. My highest recommendations.

Recently took in my two year old puppy to have two puppy teeth removed that hadn't fallen out on their own. They quoted a price that was about half of anywhere else I called. Plus the called just a couple hours after I dropped off saying he would be ready for pickup shortly. Puppy recovered well and was eating soft kibble shortly after visit. He was back to eating hard kibble of his own choice a couple days before expected as well. Overall good visit and facility looked clean and well maintained.

Not only do they make it affordable they give 100% care and attention to our dogs. We had to get surgery for the third time on my dogs knee and were new to the area. Took my 5 month old pup here because of a leg injury my "regular" vet wasn't taking seriously. They were able to get my girl in quickly with Dr Marr for xrays and began treatment. After a few days, of me not having success at keeping the pup immobile, I called to speak to the Dr. She called in the evening, was incredibly understanding and her concerns matched mine for the pup. She didn't question when i asked to have her spayed at this time to help keep her sedation time limited. Spay was far more reasonably priced than other vets, incision was very small unlike my previous spayed girls and the pup is healing well. I will be transferring All my pets to this office. I appreciate their compassion and concern. It is genuine!

I have a one year old money that needed to be neutered. Called them if they worked with rabbits (which is quite rare) and they helpfully answered all my questions. It was very easy to book an appointment. Overall, the price was realistic and cheap great for low income pet owners! Neutering my rabbit was about $100, I also got him microchipped. Although after surgery, I asked him nails to be trimmed and they might have been too rough and accidentally cut the quick of his nails, unless you don’t know how to cut your rabbits nails, I recommend doing it by yourself as it will help them feel safer/ less stressful and avoid these accidents. However, The service were really nice and helpful to answer all my questions. I would definitely come back and will probably use this was any primary vet.

They did an amazing job last time, and it was much more affordable than any other vet we researched, so we returned for his second dental this year. Their new building is so much better than the small, cramped building they were in before. The overall atmosphere was better and we didn't have to worry about parking issues. The staff was friendly and we were seen pretty much right away. The doctor and techs were great with our little dog who is usually anxious in these settings. My 3 year old rescue dog needed to have a couple of teeth removed. I was quoted $650-1200 from two other veterinary dental offices. I was referred to Vista by my uncle. I was charged a $100 deposit and then another $175 the day of surgery ($25 cheaper than my original quote). I am very impressed that everything was done for this great of a price. They also cut her nails with no charge. The only downside to Vista is because of how awesome and busy they are, they are difficult to get ahold of. The phone just rings and rings and your voicemails are often unanswered. I waited about 1-2 weeks before I heard back from them via email.

Dr. Davis seems to immediately appreciate how uniquely lovable each animal is - I don't know how he does it, but it is very reassuring and affirming to the pet owner. He is also down to earth about what the pet owner can reasonably afford to do for their pets. His recommendations seem to be grounded in providing the best quality of life for the animal with the least suffering. We have appreciated having Vista Pet Hospital in our neighborhood.

We are a family of five children who are now adults. We've had a lot of pets, and all have been treated with loving care at Vista Pet Clinic. We now have an elderly cat, who survived a major intestinal surgery (large tumor) nine months ago, and is still going strong. Our family dog passed away 18 months ago while we were in Rome and was taken to Dove Lewis where she was put to sleep. We received great care for her from Dr. Davis, however, and he sent us a lovely "sympathy" card. We now have a great, new family dog, and he is well taken care of also. We love Vista Pet Clinic.

The whole experience was excellent, from setting his appointment to getting a reminder call, the check in process, the staff at the front desk to the staff behind the counter. My cat was well-taken care and actually the staff told me that they took turns cuddling him. He did well with his surgery and his recovery. I had the best experience here and will definitely go again and highly recommend other people going here.

Dr. Davis came highly recommended by a retired veterinarian, and that was reinforced when a previous vet missed a diagnosis and Dr. Davis picked up on it quickly. So we made the switch to him and have never been sorry. The office is homey, down-to-earth, unhurried, friendly, professional, and reasonably priced. The wait is never long. The staff seem to enjoy working there. The addition of Dr. Kristin Cook has been a plus, as she has also given our dog and cat good care. We highly recommend Vista Pet Hospital.

Everyone here is very friendly. This is how customer support should be! Keep in mind, for pets these types of situations can be very stressful, and at all times the staff is present to make this process as easy as possible. Since arriving at the front desk, to the assistants, to the doctors. Particularly I LOVED how Dr. Tran basically followed my dog around patiently with a treat to get him to calm down (he refused), still, that takes devotion if you ask me. Top notch service!

We went to ave our dog’s ears cleaned. The service was on time and done safely (from a COVID standpoint). The car given to the dog was excellent, including telling us that our dog is gaining too much weight and needs a teeth cleaning. Vista has been our Ver for at least 25 years.

Wonderful first time experience. Staff were good communicators, relaxed, naturally helpful. Dr. Tran was amazing, despite my complicated situation. Another positive was how they handled my kitty girl. She is feisty by nature, showed her teeth and even scratched the doctor a little. She and the Tech were able to care for her still. She had to have a shot and blood work, which required moving her from one side to another and finding the correct vein. They knew exactly how to do it.

Gravy Boat injured her paw and was hoping around in pain. Dr. Mills examined her and immediately knew what to do . Within an hour she had resolved the problem and sent us home with meds, a cone and directions. 9 days later and Gravy is as good as new! We returned to hiking. Dr Mills is a great vet. I live on a small fixed income and could not afford the cost. Friends told me about Vista Pet Hospital; they did an excellent job and I could afford the cost. When I picked up my dog she was happy and smiling. Yeah for Vista Pet Hospital! I will recommend them, and have, to all my dog friends. Fast! If you need to get in and out, this is the place. They are incredibly efficient and professional. Because of this, it's usually fairly easy to get an appt and services are well priced. The parking lot has lots of trees and islands for your dogs to sniff around. I get there early so my dogs can explore. They love it. All the vets seem to know their stuff. Highly recommend.

From Dr. Davis on down, everybody on staff is competent, and everybody clearly loves their work and cares deeply for the animals. Best of all, you absolutely never have the nagging feeling that the profit motive is intruding into the equation in your pet's treatment. Dr. Davis is a little like a pediatrician who's seen it all, calming anxious first-time parents. He only does what's necessary, and the rates are, in my experience, unbeatable. Just the best.

This struck me as a practical vet clinic like the one my 16-year-old dog visited during the first 14 years of her life. Then we moved to Portland and chose a clinic for its proximity to our house. It was too much of a designer clinic, with a vet recommending lots of tests for an aging dog showing no signs of ill health. On the recommendation of a neighbor, we switched to Vista, even though it's a seven-mile drive through heavy traffic. Dr. Davis greeted us in the waiting room and focused his attention on the dog. In the exam room, he seemed keen in his observation of her. We were there only for shots and a check-up. He did not suggest a lot of tests to establish baseline information, as the previous vet had done. The office was clean and the front-desk staff seemed competent. Dealing with the traffic to reach the location was the only negative.

I get my dog's x-rays there because they have better a fee for it compared to some other local very fees for x Ray's. It's still expensive no matter where you go to have x-rays. He was very thorough and even called the person who purchased the pup (George Stanton) and explained his findings. I think he went outside the box in order to provide great service. I have been to other Vets and feel Vista Pet Hospital provided better care for a fraction of the cost. Dr. Cook examined our new puppy (Dott Calm) and was very helpful and thorough as well. This is what you expect from a vet. You actually meet the veterinarian, their prices are reasonable, they have good follow up and digital notifications. For a spay/dew claw removal, their prices were extremely competitive and the work they did was phenomenal. The spay incision was tiny and it healed miraculously fast. I highly recommend this place.

Really nice and affordable clinic. They take the Oregon Humane Society coupon and don't have any hidden fees (unlike other places), so can't beat that. Everything was professional and quick. Everyone at the clinic was nice and kind. They even have a cat who lives there permanently, which was super cute.

Last summer my dog who was 6 months at the time was diagnosed with Parvo Virus. Despite being vaccinated at the prescribed times he caught some sort of super parvo. The staff at Vista Pet Hospital cared for him for a week and helped him fight the deadly Virus. They came in on days off to ensure my pup got his IV changed and to care for him. They did all of this while helping me contact the vaccine manufacturer to help with cost of treating my pup. I firmly believe without Vista Pet Hospital my dog would have died and I would have been left with a hefty bill to pay. I have since moved across the river but will not take my pets anywhere else. I have one dog & two cats. I've called Vista Pet Hospital with urgent concerns, which they have been able to triage over the phone, then offer advice or recommend an urgent visit quickly. During visits, the vets have always been very thorough, handle my pets well & take the time to answer all of my questions. For example: One of my cats had Giardia & received treatment from Dove Lewis Animal Hospital. Upon our follow-up visit with Vista Pet, Dr. Cook asked if I'd had all my pets had been tested for Giardia (since treatment isn't always 100% effective & pets can easily pass it back-and-forth). As it turned out, my other cat tested positive, & I was able to have her treated as well.

We had to get our cat spayed and found out that the VPH is by far the cheapest in the area. The spaying procedure went very smoothly and we have been taking our cat for her shots every year since. Recently we adopted a dog from the humane society. She had kennel couch, so we had to pay a few visits to the VPH. We are always very happy with the way they treat our animals, we never have to wait and the costs are low. VPH is very affordable but very good and professional!

The first time I went was great, but the second time worried me a bit. I took my 6.5 pound dog in for a routine vaccine and when the lady brought him back out he had blood running down his arm. I've never personally seen that happen. The rest of the night and next day he was limping. Also, have never seen that from a simple vaccine. VISTA PET HOSPITAL WAS A FRIENDS RECOMMENDATION WHEN I RESCUED A SENIOR DOG RECENTLY. I TOOK HER TO GET CHECKED OUT. THE STAFF WERE MOST CARING, PROFESSIONAL AND COMPETENT. THERE WERE SERIOUS ISSUES UNCOVERED TO BE ADDRESSED. THE QUOTE ON THE SERVICES REQUIRED WAS SO REASONABLE, TEARS CAME TO MY EYES. I AM BLESSED TO PARTNER WITH THEM ON MY COMPANIONS HEALTH AND CARE.
