Great neighborhood clinic for our new puppy. I'm incredibly thankful for how quickly I was able to schedule an appointment and get our new puppy in. The Vet Technician was friendly and professional when she came out to get our dog. My husband and I waited in the car during the appointment due to COVID restrictions. Dr. Chicory Eddy called while she was examining our puppy and was extremely thorough and knowledgeable about everything. The Vet Technician let us know she clipped our puppy's toenails so that he could get used to it which we were extremely thankful for. The doctor and vet technician went above and beyond what we expected. Our puppy came back to the car so happy and energetic. Thank you to the entire team at Mt. Scott Animal Clinic.

We have been coming to Mt. Scott Animal Clinic since 2017. We’ve seen multiple vets there, and all of them are extremely knowledgeable and very good at communicating our pet’s needs. We’ve been consistently seeing Dr. Brown-Carlson for the past year or so and could not be happier. Our dog has been dealing with a pretty serious and scary illness and she’s walked us through the process the whole way. I’ve felt confident in the care he’s receiving and so happy with the way she always makes it known how much she truly cares about the well being of both of our dogs. We live across town and drive 30 minutes to see her because we truly believe she provides the best care out there.

I love this vet clinic/hospital! The vets are so compassionate and non-judgmental. Sometimes I feel like I'm a "bad pet owner" because I missed something in the care of my cat, but no one at Mt. Scott Animal Clinic ever makes me feel that way! Thank you for providing such good care of my animals!

The staff was kind, willing to answer questions, and I appreciated the covid protocols (though they made seeing the invoice a bit complicated- you can ask them to email it before payment if you want to view). Reasonably priced. Note for recent OHS adopters: they DO accept the 10 day wellness certificate. We had some confusion about that at first but they were very helpful calling and resolving it.

We’re forever grateful of how wonderful they are with our cats Gravy and Bean. Dr Kimball is amazing, she really cares and it shows. Between her and everyone else on staff, they do such a great job of providing care to our babies. Between helping with medication management and general wellness, I know our cats are always in good hands here.

Pros: appointments always readily available. Cons: no transparency with pricing or services rendered. They quote one price and then tack on extra needs for a healthy pet that went from being under $100 to $600. The same services they were suggesting cost $600 could be received at my prior vet for $300. They are still operating under covid restrictions and you are not able to go in with your pet which even medical establishments are allowing 1 support person or vistor masked to appointments. I ended up here after needing an urgent vet appointment and not being able to get one at my usual vet got one here. We have continued for months but honestly there isn't enough transparency with service's and pricing to continue. Also I find it strange that you aren't allowed in at any point to see what's going on behind the scenes or even meet the vet treating your pet.

The Veterinarians and staff at Mt Scott Animal Clinic provided care for my dog Buddy for close to 15 years. He visited countless times, and they provided him with excellent medical support regardless of the issue, large or small. They always seemed happy to see him and I think he enjoyed going as well! I'd easily recommend them to anyone looking for vet care in the SE Portland area that is competent, trustworthy, and compassionate.

Fair pricing and awesome staff. I was nervous for my first visit with my new puppy, but the staff were so great I didn't have to worry. They explained every test and vaccination before they did it (and before I had to pay for it), and asked if I wanted to exclude any of those things from the visit. I ended up doing everything and the fair pricing made me feel good about it. They also answer the phone quickly and give helpful answers to my questions (which I appreciate as a new puppy owner). I would totally recommend Mt. Scott Animal Clinic and will be continuing my dog's care there.

The entire staff has been wonderful and a pleasure to work with. I especially appreciate the time and attention Dr. Carlson takes with my kitty Bonnie. With Bonnie’s old age and number of health challenges, Dr. Carlson has created treatment plans that have required additional research on her part and many questions from me. She takes into account our budget concerns as well - presenting all options, and then gives recommendations accordingly. Dr. Carlson cares for each animal and client immensely, and her work reflects this. Thank you!

We now live in Beaverton but we make the drive even though there are tons of vet offices closer to us. I will start by saying I worked at a veterinary practice for almost a decade and as such, I am always able to take my pets there for a steep discount but it's located a good 45 min away from where I live now. To spare my sweet cat the stress, I wanted to find a local veterinary clinic for care. I was SO fortunate to have found Mt. Scott Animal Clinic. From the first time I called to set up the appointment, the staff was so kind and professional and that level of care just kept increasing the day of the appointment. They explained all services carefully and thoroughly and didn't push any services that I wanted to wait on during this particular visit. We were fortunate enough to get an appointment within a week when our other vet was booked out a few months and we are so happy with Mt Scott that they are now our primary vet for both of our elderly cats. They are very responsive and provide updates every step of the appointment which is extremely helpful during covid when we are not allowed to occupany our pets. Also the staff is very kind and the prices are reasonable. Highly recommended!

The doctors and vet technicians at Mt. Scott Animal Clinic went above and beyond for me and my cat last weekend. Firstly, their park-and-call system for COVID times is safe, efficient and extremely well-run. Secondly, every time I've brought my cat there I feel very well taken care of -- I tend to ask a lot of questions as I want to be as informed as I can be about my pet's care, and I so appreciate the time they take to answer all of them, no questions too silly for them to answer thoughtfully and kindly. And lastly, my husband and I potentially have an international trip ahead of us for school, and Brenda Carlson kindly stayed on the phone with me for a significant amount of time answering my questions and even researching solutions! She just sent me an email this morning with the additional information she promised to follow up with. This is a team that truly cares about their patients and who have gone above and beyond to assist in any way they can. I can’t say enough good things about our first visit to MSAC. The veterinary assistant was friendly and thorough. The veterinarian was so nice and explained everything in a way that I could understand. The care they gave my cat was gentle, thorough and just what he needed. I have a cat that hates being touched below the waist and I can barely comb him without bites and scratches; they got the work done quickly and compassionately, and put any fears I had to rest about having him examined. My dog has been having severe allergy problems and the vet (Dr. C) has taken time to find and diagnose the problem. Our dog is finally on the road to being back to normal and we are very thankful. My family and I have been going to Mt Scott starting in the late eighties- early nineties The owners and staff may have changed hands couple times yet The quality of care has not changed at all still superb. We have had nothing but awesome service the staff never have let us down. Best place I've found all around for service and budget. I never returned to previous vet office, not because of the dr but because of the vet assistant. It's important to have great drs as well as great support staff. I'll continue to bring my two dogs as every part of the experience was good. I have a pet app linked to them and I like that I'm earning rewards to go towards their grooming needs.

The medical care seems adequate, but it is hard to maintain quality care when there is poor communication. They repeatedly drop the ball on communicating vital information to the pet owner. On multiple separate occasions we have been told that the vet/clinic knew about important health information for a long time and completely failed to mention it. Then they would say, “oh I don’t know how you didn’t know, it’s in the chart.” One of our pups had a fractured tooth for a year and a half before they said anything. By then “I’m sure she’s no longer in pain, but we should pull it before it becomes infected” was the communication we received. We are really good about keeping up on vet appointments too, so they knew about this tooth fracture three visits before we were ever notified. At previous vet clinics I have been able to actually speak with the vet and ask questions. Here, this is not often the case. Instead you speak with front office staff where it always seems like it’s their first day on the job. We really wanted to love this place based on reviews we read, but it’s not worth it. It’s frustrating to have a pet on daily medication and to go and refill it, only to have them say they won’t refill without an exam and another full panel. While we can appreciate being cautious and assessing organ function and animal health, it’s not hard to notify the pet owner of this ahead of time, rather than caught off guard with another, “well it’s in the pet chart” answer. If it’s in the chart the owner should know about it! If a clinic doesn’t have time for the vet to meet with the owner and are leaving the communication up to front office staff, put the information all in the written discharge paperwork for the owner to read themselves or have fully trained front office staff.

While covid restrictions were still in place I'll visit with our cat was very satisfying. We talked with the doctor over the phone in the parking lot she was very patient and explained everything necessary to keep our cat healthy. She answered all our questions satisfactorily.

I had a great experience at this vet. My dog has serious anxiety around new people, and both the vet and technician were very accommodating and kind to her. They were able to make excellent suggestions for treating her anxiety, worked hard to get all the records they needed from her previous vet, and did this all for a great price. Highly recommended.

I have brought my pup here for only 3 years, however I've experienced such compassion and empathy, its like she had known them for her 13 years. I want to specifically say THANK YOU to Erik, he was so nice and caring. I had to make the hard decision of letting my pup go, to relieve her pain and suffering and Erik was there to assure me, that my decision was a good one, for my Puppa dog. I’ve had great experiences at this vet, especially because our cat is a very difficult patient. Our cat hisses and scratches when the vet examines her. Nevertheless, this clinic has saved the life of our geriatric kitty with kidney failure going on 3 times now. They’re working with us on end of life care as our kitty slowly declines and are willing to work with us on a minimal intervention approach to this difficult period.

The vets here are very friendly, compassionate, and gentle. They have consistently responded to all my requests for services, and answered all my questions no matter how long it took. They spend time getting to know your pet and making your pet comfortable. That being said, sometimes you will have to respect their time with other clients, and understand that this may mean they run 10-15 minutes late sometimes, which I don't mind at all because their care is worth it to me. But just a heads up.

Wait time was pretty short and my cat was taken care of wonderfully, she had an eye infection. They must have been I credibly gentle with her (when they took her to give her her shots and a nail clipping) because she was not as freaked out as I thought she’d be! I can't say enough good things about this clinic. They are so compassionate and professional. They helped my boyfriend and I through a difficult time with our kitty. They were both candid and caring. I've always been able to get in to see them same day if needed. The prices are reasonable. All of the staff I have interacted with have been great! I'm almost certain Dr. Bob is some sort of animal whisperer. Two of my pets that never cuddle with anybody but me have proven me wrong by happily curling up in his lap. Dr. Conradi is just as amazing with her care and compassion. I love this place.

The clinic has been our vet for our cat and dog for years. We have found the services to be thorough and helpful. The staff have always been kind and the communication is very good. Sadly, our cat recently became very ill and we made the difficult decision to euthanize. The folks at the clinic were compassionate and expressed sympathy for our loss.

I know they're good because my kitten doesn't freak out on her way to the vet! No contact visits are strange, but this clinic does a great job of keeping patients and clients safe. It is more expensive than I was anticipating, but that shouldn't be surprising. One critique would be being very clear about what treatments and tests you're okay with. My kitten kept being dewormed even though she'd been dewormed prior to visiting the clinic. Then they kept doing it until I brought a fecal sample and paid for a test that I knew she didn't need. I get that it's for her safety, but I did say I didn't want or need it.

Every single staff member there, from the doctors, to the techs, to the front desk staff, have all treated me and my animals with care and kindness. When my little one had surgery, one of the front desk staff spent some of her lunch break sitting with my doggo after their surgery because I guess she was lonely, and then another person carried my dog around in a sling to soothe her while she waited for me to pick her up. A wonderful tech even dug through the trash to get my dog’s gross teeth they pulled (so my weirdo partner could keep them). The doctors are knowledgeable and caring (I’ve had great experiences with Dr. Cameron, especially) and they’ve given me a lot of great advice, and on a couple of occasions had no problem giving me advice over email. I truly cannot thank the entire staff enough for all of their amazing work.

After having a not so great experience with the first vet I tried— which had a more corporate, and not super caring vibe— we visited Mt. Scott at the recommendation of a friend. Even though I have since moved out of the neighborhood, I continue to visit Mt. I've taken my dog here for years, and I feel that he gets great care! The first time I went in, the Dr said "hi" to me, then right away sat down on the floor and started playing with my dog. My dog loved going to the Dr after that, and he had no fear of the place. I think both Dr's there are great, so whomever you get, your pet will be well taken care of. I've seen them give free exams & meds to stray animals brought in right off the street, I've seen them extend credit to people who couldn't afford the whole bill, they give free exams to recently adopted animals and they are also a place where you can bring lost animals. They will give them a checkup & then take them to the county (or try to foster them). Great Place, great people!

They were really nice, but using charisma to make up for being late only goes so far. I have been here 3 times and they were only remotely on time once. The first time it took them 45 minutes past the appointment time to even come out and have us fill out paperwork. Every other time it's about 15 minutes past my appointment time and I usually show up 10 minutes early so im waiting almost a half hour in a hot car before the even grab my furry friends. Edit: So I am sitting in my car at 7:56 for a 8am appointment. I've called twice and no answer for check in. I have noticed that all the employees have pulled up are are just now arriving to work at the same time my appointment is. I don't know if cutting scheduling this close to appointments yields timeliness. I mean just schedule my appointment at 8:15 so I don't have to wait around. Sheesh.

This is literally the best vet clinic you will find. Over the years (and with three of my dogs throughout the years) I've grown to know the staff and love each and every one of them for their thoughtfulness and care they exhibit for animals. When my last dog passed away I received the nicest card signed by the entire staff with their condolences. They know me by name and I'm always greeted by the super friendly girls at the front desk. Our cat passed away yesterday. Mt. Scott wasn't fully involved because our cat needed chemo and help from specialists. They sent us flowers. Maybe they always do this? Maybe a lot of vets do? I don't care. Mt. Scott sending flowers is so indicative of every single interaction I've had with them. I've never experienced anything but kindness. And compassion for our pets. It's one thing to go above and beyond once -- it seems like they do it every time I'm there. When my wonderful, dumb dog extends a 5-minute event to 20 minutes, they never say a word. My wife and I feel extremely lucky to have found a vet that we know will be there for us and our pets.

I brought in an abandoned cat that I knew very little about after my cat’s vet refused to see him. I was on the verge of tears when I called because I was worried I wouldn’t be able to get him help. Everyone, from that initial phone call through the end of his actual visit, was so friendly and helpful and understanding. The care he received was phenomenal. The cost was VERY reasonable and I’m going to transfer my cat to this clinic.

I cannot recommend this clinic enough. They have taken such good care of our two kitties, one of which had to recently be put to sleep. They helped in every way they could to try and make our girl better, but in the end it just wasn't possible. They were kind and thoughtful, especially Dr. Conradi who answered all my emailed questions as quickly as she could. When it came time, they came to our house so as to not stress out and terrify our kitty. They were able to peacefully send her off in her favorite chair, on her favorite blanket, with her humans around her. The staff there are always willing to help out as much as they can and help you find other resources when it is something beyond their capabilities. They treat each and every pet as if it were their own. They are a fantastic group of people and we're lucky to have them in our neighborhood.

Great clinic. Great Veterinarians! I have been going to MSAC for years and even before Dr. Conradi became the owner. I absolutely adore her! Very knowlegable, concise and talks to a lay person in such a manner as you don't feel foolish but well informed. The Vets are all very compassionate when the news isn't good. All the staff are always cheerful and helpful. The environment is very clean, cheerful and almost homey. I don't ever plan to change to any other veterinary clinic.

The entire staff at Mt. Scott Animal Clinic made what was an extraordinarily difficult and sad time saying goodbye to our beloved dog, Gracie - a very compassionate one. Dr. Karen Conradi was perfect, showing genuine care, concern and kindness - as did all of the assistant staff we encountered in the process. We never felt rushed, nor like anyone there was simply “going through the motions“. The costs were very reasonable, and all options were explained in detail. We also received a sympathy card in the mail afterwards, signed by everyone there. I can’t recommend this clinic highly enough. Thank you all very kindly.

Excellent staff. They really listen, and also understand many of us are on a budget. I really like that they discuss a treatment plan, and then give you a print out of the costs BEFORE confirming that you can spend the money and can afford each treatment. Since it is itemized, you really get to see the costs of labs and medicines. Dr. Bussa is great with my elderly cat, and I really appreciate the time and care from him and his staff.

I honestly can’t thank this clinic or their doctors more for the kindness and the genuine love they have for the animals that come through their door. Dr. Kimball is absolutely amazing. I can’t give this place(or her) more than five stars but I want to!! They stayed on top of giving quotes over the phone, call backs, and check ups regardless of my busy schedule. My normally healthy kitty who usually weighed in about 12-13 pounds had dropped to 10 to 9 to 8 all in the matter of a month and after tests and labs, nothing could be figured out why my kitty wouldn’t stop throwing up anything and everything that went down his throat. He got weaker and wouldn’t move from under the bed except to see me for a brief moment when I got home just to go back under and stay there for the rest of the day. I was ready to give up so that he wasn’t in pain and suffering anymore, and so I made a trip back to the clinic thinking it would be my last trip with him, and I was clearly upset. Dr. Kimball had decided on one last treatment to see if it would work (as I was working on a budget the entire time) and it ended up saving him. It’s been a month and he’s no longer on the medication! He’s gaining weight, he’s playful again, he’s out and about and curious about everything again! He’s back to himself and I can’t thank them enough for it! THANK YOU DOCTOR KIMBALL!

My husband and I just moved back to Oregon and our last vet was in Corvallis. Unfortunately our golden got two of his toe nails caught in our uhaul truck steps and ripped off the nail. We tried to take care of him over the weekend but we knew we needed a vet pronto. I researched for hours for a good vet. I am an over the top owner and my dog is my baby. I have incredibly high standards for who ever takes care of my dog. Mt. Scott got great reviews not just on Yelp but Facebook, YP, and Google. So I made the jump and called Monday morning. They had computer troubles but called me back right away once the computer was working. The front desk staff was amazing. I dealt with Lindsay almost the whole time. She has got to be the friendliest vet front desk staff I've ever met. She made sure I was comfortable, cared about my dog, and got us in within 30 minutes. We got there and she remembered my dogs name. She retrieved all his records from his past two vets. Made us feel comfortable and was incredibly friendly in person too! We went into the exam room and met the vet tech, who was also kind. She took good care of my boy and then the vet came in, Dr. Conradi. I loved her right on the spot. Again, I am incredibly picky but Karen knew exactly what she was doing. She comforted my dog, was calming to this freaking out mom, and explained everything. She even printed out all the prices before she did everything to make sure I was okay with it (I've never had that happen before). She then took our dog to the back to be cleaned up. We heard him crying and right after could hear the techs comforting him. She came out and explained everything and then the tech came out later and explained all the paperwork and meds. I felt so comfortable the whole time. I felt like they truly cared about my dog and how scared I was for him. We have a two week check up but I fully intend to keep Dr. Conradi as our full time vet. We needed a vet, this wasn't how I wanted to have to find one, but I couldn't have asked for a better vet and experience in our small crisis! Thank you all!

All of the staff here have been very helpful. One thing I will say is that I’ve had to keep a close eye on my receipts and charges during visits with my cat. I’ve caught them charging me for no name miscellaneous medications and re-charging me for a follow up office visit that I had already paid for. So, a note to other folks who take their pets here. Be sure to review charges prior to paying for anything.

We had a TON of puppy questions for Dr. Conradi on our first visit and she stayed past their late close to make sure each question was answered thoroughly. The nurses and front desk are extremely friendly and have been great. We recently saw Dr. Cameron who was thorough, extremely knowledgable and again, took the time to answer any questions that we came up with. They also are open late on Mondays and Thursdays until 8:00 which has helped tremendously with scheduling. We will definitely continue to go to Mt. I'll start by saying I have two cats, one with a complex medical history and one that another clinic mishandled and labelled "aggressive". I spent years going to a flashy, boutique style vet clinic until they mishandled one of my cats. When I first visited Mt. Scott, they took the time to give me a tour, heard my concerns and answer all my questions. They accomodated my senior cat so she wouldn't be stressed and their skilled professionals were able to exam her and draw labs without any trouble at all. They were fast and efficient while still hearing me out and giving my cat a gentle, thorough exam. I can tell you that they do NOT upsell you on anything but do provide cutting edge, modern vet care combined with excellent customer service. Both my kitties will be having dentals done with them, which is a testament to my trust in their practices. Although the outside of the building isn't fancy, their faculties are clean and most importantly, they make a cautious and high maintenance cat mom feel heard and reassured. I am happy to recommend their services to anyone looking for a primary care veterinarian for a pet dog or cat.
