GROOMING Review: The grooming is absolutely horrible. They decided to shave my Golden Retriever baby boy for some reason, after I spent time explaining what to trim and what to leave alone. The groomer said she gave him a puppy cut. Why would any professional groomer do this to a customer's animal when they didn't request anything remotely close to it? I asked to take in his body a little, not go to town with clippers. If you have a dog who obviously doesn't need to be shaved, do not go to this place. The business is lucky I do not stop payment. $118 for a shaved butchered cut. I'll never use their grooming services again. My advice for others who want to try the grooming is to bring a photo of what you want and leave it with them because, at least one groomer, will not understand what you say let alone remember what you want. UPDATE 5/12/22, VET Review: We decided to give the veterinarian a try since all of our dog's info was in the system and one groomer's poor performance shouldn't affect the vet side of things. I'm delighted to say that this was a different experience all together. Very professional and detail oriented with my boy. The veterinary assistant was thorough and kind. We arrived about 5-10 minutes prior to the appointment and were taken back within a few minutes. The Veterinarian was very happy to see my dog and loved him with fur all over. I've seen other vets be cautious of getting fur on them, so this was a nice sight to see an actual dog person first before the Dr portion kicked in. She was super knowledgeable and provided a lot of details during his exam. The base cost for the visit was expected, and a little cheaper than what we are used to; coming from another state where vet visits are almost double! This was refreshing. Time will tell if this vet will be a long-term fit. I've upgraded my rating to account for a great experience on the medical side of the business. Cheers.

We take both of our dogs to Countryside, and we (and the dogs!) just love everyone there. We’re nearly always able to get an appointment quickly, if necessary. The facility is clean, the folks are friendly, and they offer a Paw Plan that covers a few visits, labs, an x-ray (I think). If you’re looking for a great facility to care for your pets’ heath needs, you won’t find better.

We were referred by friends and could not be happier! Dr. Ciminello was absolutely amazing, she made Jack feel so comfortable that he was laying down and relaxing during his exam- this never happens! The front staff was so welcoming and even had a sign welcoming Jack as new patient :) It feels great knowing that we have a place that take great care of Jack ♥️

Last week brought home my new pound rescue and took him down for a lookover and exam, checked out with a complete report mailed to me and a talk with the Dr. about how to transition my new boy Jimi. Our first appointment with Dr. Dunning was about 9 months ago when we couldn’t get into the vet we had been patients of for 16 years. Our 10 year old Rottie was suffering and we didn’t know why. We could get an appointment the same day with Countryside after telling them the severity of our dog ‘s health (our vet couldn’t get us in for a month!). We knew it wasn’t going to be good. Dr. Dunning is one of the kindest humans we’ve ever met and needed to share the depressing news that our Romeo was not going to live much longer and was in a great deal of pain. The entire staff at Countryside was incredible throughout our appointment and devastating decision to say goodbye to Romeo. Even though it was our first appointment, we were treated like we’ve been seeing Countryside for our vet appointments for years. Dr. Dunning explained each of the options we had, talked us through the final procedure, and was so caring to our entire family. We cannot thank everyone at countryside enough for the support and love they showed us that day. The 2nd appointment with Dr. Dunning was this week when we brought in our new rescue puppy for his first check up. And once again everyone at Countryside was incredible. Each staff member we interacted with were SO kind and welcoming- each one, including Dr. Dunning, got down on the ground to give Caber some love and played with him. Caber felt very comfortable during his visit (he didn’t want to leave!😆) even street getting two vaccines. Dr. Dunning gave us some great tips on how to survive life with a puppy (it’s been awhile since we’ve had one this young🤦🏻‍♀️) and was so happy for our family and Caber to find each other. Countryside is our new permanent vet for us! Thank you to everyone at Countryside for all that you do for animals and their humans. ❤️

I needed a last minute emergency appointment for a growth on my dog's eye. I called a couple of places and while all were concerned only Countryside was concerned enough to get her in same day. Usually when you get in last minute you wait forever, but not here. They got me in, seen and out very quickly without being rushed in my visit. The Vet was awesome and kind to my sweet dog, we got antibiotics and some other recommendations and will follow up if needed. Thank you Countryside for prioritizing my dog's health. It made the start to my weekend much easier than if I had to stress trying to get in somewhere all weekend. I highly recommend them!

We are new to the area and needed to find a new vet for our dog Daisy. First thing when we walked in there was a sign, welcoming new members and Daisy’s name was on the board. That was a nice touch. People at the main desk were very friendly, and I could tell that they just love being around animals. I saw Dr. Smith and could tell right away that she was going to be great. She was covered in pet hair and got right down on the floor with Daisy immediately to get to know her and have her trust her. Dr Smith took the time to know us and answer questions. I never felt rushed. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend coming to Countryside.

I spend the winters in Phoenix and when my cat had a medical emergency, I needed someone nearby. A friend recommended Countryside, and I’m so glad. I’ve been seeing Dr. Smith, who handled the initial incident last year and a relapse this year. She was able to diagnose my cat’s problem and provide care quickly. The vet and vet techs are responsible and knowledgeable. They treat my cat well, for example putting a fluffy blanket on the exam table to make my cat more comfortable. I feel safe with her in their hands. The clinic itself is clean and well-maintained. The lobby is welcoming, and the exam rooms are friendly to animals. The staff worked easily with the emergency clinics I went to as well as my vet in my home state. They helped ensure that my cat had a high quality of care. Overall, I highly recommend them!

Everyone was so kind, thorough, and playful with our sweet puppy. They made him feel so comfy during his visit and gave him a new tennis ball to go home with (which he loved). They also gave me so much helpful information for new puppy owners, made sure all my questions were answered, and were very quick to follow up when I called with an update on our little guy. I have taken my 2 dogs to Countryside for about 3 months, I switched to them because my previous Vet had no idea what customer service means. The entire staff at Countryside, ranging from the front desk personnel to the Vets themselves are very kind and helpful. You can tell the entire staff loves aminals. I always felt like my previous Vet tried to get every cent out of me by suggesting or pushing for things my dogs really didn't need. Countryside is just the opposite.

Mac loves Countryside Animal hospital. All 3 of my pets go to see the doctors here. I drive from downtown Phoenix because the staff understands my concerns about my animals. I have had great responses from the team when I have felt like my pets have had issues. The pricing is reasonable. I wouldn't trust my babies with anyone else.

Definitely the best vet experience I've ever had. A place staffed by animal loving people. Everyone came to you once in the exam room to prevent having to keep moving our kitten. All options were presented to us about care even if it meant getting a reference to someone else. Dr. Ciminello is such a gem and amazing with our furbaby. We left with a to go bag full of pet parent resources. Including literature that I've never been given before as a pet owner. Truly a heart led operation. Newly renovated, lobby and rooms are always kept clean (which requires a lot of effort considering how many furry patients they have a day). I've been an animal owner my whole life and this is by far the best vet that has ever cared for my fur babies. Everyone is friendly and welcoming and their love of animals is very apparent. As long as I live in the Phoenix area, I will take my pets here. P.S. they made my newest dog an award the day of his neuter surgery and gave it to me when I picked him up. He loves going to the vet, even on his neuter day, he was always happy to be around the staff.

Our minor surgery experience was very positive. We had our dog taken for surgery prep fairly quickly which is important so that his stress isn't prolonged while we wait with him to be taken back. We were able to pick him up just a few hours later at noon. The next morning Ninja was back to his normal self and Countryside called to check up on him. Glad we have Countryside and Dr Dunning on our side!

We had an emergency with our cat and we took her here. Sadly, our Mittens didn't make it. It was too late before we even got her though the door. But the staff here at Countryside did everything they could to revive her, and treated us and her so respectfully and kindly. They let us say goodbye as long as we needed, and took care of everything for us, checked up on us later on, and sent us a beautiful condolence card. The staff here truly cares about our furry companions, and it shows. I highly recommend this establishment above any I've ever been to.

It’s my first time raising a cat(called Sudo) and I just got him four days ago from breeder. He is sneezing and coughing due to feeling stressed in new environment and just had his spayed/neutered surgery last Wednesday. I was so worried and the earliest appointment date of other hospitals is one week later. I called countryside hospital and luckily they have a time slot this morning and I quickly took my cat to them. By the way, the lady who picked up my call is very nice and helpful! She is very patient!But I don’t know her name(hope she can see this comment) After one dose of Clavamox, Sudo is feeling better now!! Thank you countryside! You will be my first choice in the future! I love this clinic, all of the vets (shoutout to Dr. Widener and Dr. Hoppe), and the staff! Their prices are on par with neighboring clinics, but their sense of caring, patience, thoroughness, and follow-through is second to none. As long as we're in the East Valley, they will be our pup's clinic!

I have only had wonderful experiences at Countryside! All of the technicians and doctors are super kind and helpful to both me and my dog! My beagle absolutely loves it there!! The paw plan they offer is a great way to pay monthly to make sure your pup is always covered and they are very upfront about what the paw plan covers and if it is worth it for your pet! They genuinely care about your pups well-being at countryside! I also really appreciate their responsiveness. Someone always answers and is helpful when I call and scheduling is super easy! I only can say good things and definitely recommend for anyone and everyone’s fur baby! I moved to Arcadia from Tempe and still make the hike to countryside because it is worth it!

We had an overall wonderful experience there. Check-in was easy, we didn’t have to wait in the room long at all, all my questions were answered and I didn’t feel rushed through the process. Dr Dunning was very open and honest. We came to Countryside to get a second opinion regarding our dog… the first vet we visited we waited and waited in the room and my dog was scared of the dr we she entered; our experience at Countryside was completely opposite. I went to this vet for a second opinion on one of my cats. They completely resolved the issue and were thorough and extremely knowledgeable. Goose & Tooter will be back to this vet in the future. Can’t say anything negative. Well priced is just an added bonus. The staff is PHENOMENAL. I love the gals at the front desk and Doctors Hoppe and Smith have been absolutely wonderful to work with. What started as a bit of communication issue turned into a much better situation for our senior pup as a new patient. After having had a vet in IL for over 10 years for him, a new vet was nerve wracking to find. After an initial reaction to what we thought were vaccines related come to find out Milo had insulin treatable diabetes. Dr. Ciminello has been gracious through this whole process. She explained all the details and was very patient with us as we asked a lot of questions during the visits and wondering why our normally happy dog was lethargic and not his normal self. Thank you, Dr. Ciminello for your help and look forward to your help with getting Milo back on track with his health. The front office staff on the phone and in person have been easy to work with and extremely professional with this nervous fur mom after a big move from IL to Phoenix. Thank you all.

I went here most recently with my 3.5 year old border collie for some concerns I had been having. The last vet I went to ran no tests and just said they weren't concerned. At Countryside they immediately took him back for an ultrasound to try to see what was going on in him and even reached out to an expert on the matter for me. The vet took her time to explain everything that was going on and even gave me advice on the route she would take if it was her dog. The techs were all super friendly and knowledgeable and by the time the visit was over, my dog was waiting by the door to the back area wagging his tail and hoping someone came to take him back there again. They even gave him special digestive cookies because I said he has a sensitive stomach. I signed up for the paw plan because it's a good deal and will be coming back soon for Atlas to get a dental cleaning. I feel like the staff are all very competent and I feel 100% comfortable in their hands. Atlas can't wait to go back.

Me and my pups love Countryside! We moved to chandler area about three years ago and found this location since it was rather close to us. We were only bringing one pup for a while and she loved visiting the vets and the whole crew. They treated our pup with such love and care! We brought our older pup who has vet anxiety recently to get shots. I have never seen him love a vet ever and he was obsessed with the vet and was on his best behavior the whole time. They are very through here and are always up front about cost and procedures that need to be done or not done. I was amazed at how I was able to get an appointment the same day. I had called several veterinarians with no success for my 17 year old kitty with a possible urinary track infection and bloody urine. I chose curbside and notified them when I arrived. The vet tech came out almost immediately and took the history. Within a couple of minutes someone came to get my kitty. My appointment time was for 4:10pm and I never had to wait. The doctor examined my kitty right away and called me within a few minutes with an evaluation and recommendations. The service was unbelievable. The bill was affordable and hundreds less than I anticipated. This clinic is amazing and is now my "go to" vet clinic. Dr Widener was so nice and took the time to talk to me as well as her staff. This is the best veterinary clinic I've taken my dog to. I've had him for 13 years so we've seen quite a few across several states! They are fantastic all the way around. Initially brought my dog in when the vet I was bringing my sick dog to wasn't listening to me! They were trying to charge me for an extensive blood panel for diarrhea that didn't initially respond to cipro. Dr. Dunning listened and took notes on everything I told him, he concluded that the blood panel was not necessary. He specifically said 'we practice evidence based medicine' and given his only symptom is diarrhea, he likely needs a different antibiotic. Sure enough, he was correct. The second antibiotic he prescribed worked within a day. The other vets are great too, I love Dr. Widener. She's been seeing my dog regularly for a couple years now. She's very responsive to all my questions and concerns.

I truly feel they do everything in the best interests of the animals. The vets always call to provide lab results themselves so they can answer questions that may arise due to the outcomes. Dr. Dunning always manages to make time for my pets, even if I call near the end of the day panicky over some new condition. He was especially caring for me and my dog Tucker who fell fatally ill while I was away on a 5-week business trip to Asia. He comforted my wife and son and helped Tucker to stay alive long enough for me to cut my trip short to be with him. I had 3 wonderful weeks with my best friend due to Dr. Dunning's care. And I am forever grateful. And while Tucker growled at Dr. Dunning every time he was being treated, Dr. Dunning took it in stride and treated Tucker as if his own. Countryside is like family.

Thankfully Countryside stepped up and really helped our little guy live in comfort. We had to put him down last week and the staff was amazing. We’ve searched for quality compassionate vets in our new state but it’s not so easy to find a vet like her. She took such good care of our dogs. (Bruce Wayne and Kona say hello! 🐾) Not many vets get down on the floor and wait until your dogs feel comfortable, but she does. This was my two cats’ first visit to this veterinary clinic and although I couldn’t accompany them inside due to the pandemic, I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience! Although I really liked my previous vet, my older Siamese cat was completely traumatized before and after every visit and I couldn’t help but suspect the atmosphere in the back end was just too loud or chaotic. When my Siamese appeared to have a dental issue & my younger cat needed updated vaccines, I decided to switch to Countryside after reading recommendations on NextDoor and Yelp. It was Dr. Smith’s first day and how lucky we were to have her! She is obviously intelligent and caring, and she suggested special dental treats and a powder to place in my older cat’s food to minimize the bacteria in her mouth & hopefully extend the amount of time between her necessary dental cleanings. My previous veterinarians here in AZ and in FL and NV never had such helpful suggestions. The best part was the fact that my cats were far less traumatized and they were back to normal within 30 minutes of arriving back home. Amazing!

I've lived in the Phoenix valley for 7 years now, having had to switch vet's twice within that time. I unfortunately had to deal with numerous issues.. faulty vaccines that made my dog catch parvo (almost died), unnecessary recommended surgeries, poor teeth cleanings, an "ear infection" that ran me 3 appointments - $900 in office visits/Meds & in the end, it turned out my dog had cancer next to her ear the entire time. Of course removing that cancerous tumor ran an additional $1k+ I have now made my 3rd and FINAL move! We had the pleasure of having Dr. Ryan Dunning tend to our pups. In a time when it seems like a lot of vet's are only in it for the office visits and billable hours, Dr. Dunning was the complete opposite. From the moment of our first appointment with him, he took his time to discuss in detail the issues with our babies. We didn't feel rushed at all during our appointment and he not only made our pups feel better, he also gave us the peace of mind that we would get through this. He was very professional, knowledgeable, kind and compassionate. Just being in the same room with him, you can tell he genuinely cares about each and every one of his patients. The entire staff seems amazing and the facility is very clean. Super late leaving this. TL:DR Awesome group and we found our new local vet group! :D We were about to go on vacation when one of our cats came down with a minor sickness, but she is young and this was the first time we were leaving her and her sister alone for an extended duration, so we didn't feel comfortable leaving her alone with the friend if she was sick. We ended up calling here to see if we could arrange an extended stay, wanting to be sure she would receive necessary care for her infection. The staff was super helpful getting us step up and in their system and ready to drop them off the next day. We moved to the area about a year ago and have been going to Countryside for our two dogs. We've been really impressed with the vets here and the quality of care our dogs have received. My only complaint is that they're a little on the expensive side, but their Paw Plan helps a lot with that. It's a monthly cost for a plan that covers basic visits and provides discounts for other things which aren't.. also they've been good about not jumping to more involved treatments where it isn't necessary.

The staff are still very kind and I will continue coming here for the duration of the PAW pla but for more serious issues I may go elsewhere. I am a bit disappointed that I brought my dog here 4-5 times without any improvement with the severe eye issues he was having (inflammation, hair loss around eye, dishcarge, sometimes bleeding). The vet had us try steroids, multiple ointments, antibiotics, and most recently an elimination diet. At no point was any testing done to help focus treatment, I just spent more money hoping the next thing would work and was told a skin scrape might be down the line later. After two months, I took my dog to a dermatologist, without a referral, and immediately testing confirmed a severe staph infection around his eyes. I'm thankful this was caught before this spread to my other pets. I only wish testing would've been recommended by the initial vet instead of me having to seek it elsewhere.

The staff is very friendly and actually interacts with you and treats you like they care about your pet. The vet is great and listens to your concerns and answers any questions you may have and are always so quick to get back to you if you call with a question/concern. Time to find a new vet :-( They used to allow you 30 days to decide if you want to do one of there now inflated paw plans but now it is the current month. Ok we will take our money elsewhere. We take both of our male English Springers to Countryside Animal Hospital for health care and for grooming. We took Beckham in earlier this week to have a needle biopsy and a body scan done to assess some tumorous growths in and/or around his anal glands. The service was done well and professionally; even with the challenges of COVID and bringing our pets into Countryside. The vets and vet techs are wonderful and treat our dogs like they are family. We are hoping that the results of the biopsy and scan will provide positive information and we can proceed with the necessary surgicval steps in the very near future to eradicate any and/all cancerous cells within Beckham and prolong his life further. We trust Countryside with the future of our dogs; as they have earned and gained our trust over years of providing competent and informed veterinary guidance to us about our pets/family members.

When my aging boxer kept me up crying all one Friday night I knew I had to get him seen by a vet ASAP. I called my vet as soon as they opened on Saturday morning only to be told that they couldn't see him until Tuesday. There was no way either of us could hang in there for three more days and nights. They recommended trying Countryside. The staff at Countryside was wonderful. Although they had no openings either, they offered to let me bring him in at the end of their day and they would see him. He saw Dr. Dunning, who examined him and was able to prescribe pain meds and antibiotics. Complete recovery. If he hadn't been seen until Tuesday we might have had a different outcome. From now on, I'll take all of my dogs to Dr. Dunning.
