I have been bringing my dog Dianna here since we rescued her in 2012. She has a stage 6 heart murmur (the worst you can have) The staff at Caring Hearts has always been so comforting, warm and very transparent with her care. A special shoutout to Dr. Black. She is exceptional. Dianna just had a risky surgery (anesthesia and murmurs do not mix well) Dr. Black spent so much time making sure we got her medicine combination correct to keep her resting heart rate low enough for the surgery. She was scheduled a month out and had unexpected growth from her tumor along with bleeding just a week later. Dr. Black had us bring her in. Although she did not have an opening in her schedule for weeks, she performed the surgery on her lunch so Dianna wouldn't have to go somewhere unfamiliar. It meant the world to me. The surgery was a great success. I just got the news that she is cancer free today! :) I will never go anywhere else. The professionals here truly care. The love in her life and the care she's received is why she is going 10 years strong

I actually found this clinic trying to figure out if a dog was microchipped which I found. In that small exchange I could tell how much they cared. Which is the reason I decided to book an appointment for my own fur baby. She's a senior dog and while very well mannered has anxiety going to the Vet. Dr. Montes and the staff here treated her so well and gave me clear information on her health (even if it was a little difficult to hear) but they gave options suggestions and honestly I will never go anywhere else. All my questions were answered and I feel 100000% better having them supporting me and my baby. I have never fully committed to a vet before but I have now. Thank you Caring Hearts for giving me piece of mind.

Took our pup Lucy there. My wife and I hadn’t been to a different Veterinary office in over 10 years. Caring Hearts, thankfully, it right down the street from us. From the moment we walked through the doors, there was a different feel to this place. Very welcoming, very happy. They have these awesome divider walls with a bench seat in each to help separate different patients while they wait. That’s a huge difference compared to our last Vet’s office. Their patients rooms are very large, I think they might be bigger than most human doctors office rooms. They were very clean, and well lit. One awesome aspect is their willingness to discuss different options in treatment. They don’t try and push one way over the next, laying out options is very nice. I cannot wait to be able to bring our other new adopted pup Spike in for his first checkup. Thank you for having such a friendly welcoming environment.

Going to Caring Hearts Animal Clinic today was my first experience with a vet as a brand new puppy owner. It was fantastic from start to finish! We walked in and the front office staff called my puppy by her name and gave me clear instructions on what paperwork to complete. The vet assistant was fantastic! She loved on my puppy and made her feel comfortable. The vet was kind, knowledgeable and able to answer all my questions and put me at ease about everything! He checked over the puppy and gave her a clean bill of health.

Never have I ever met veterinary staff that were so compassionate, caring, and dedicated to your animal/visit. Every single visit I've had here has been outstanding, my pets have always been taken care of with the greatest care, cats and dogs, and the treatment has always been explained and communicated with the patient. Our little 8lb dog was attacked by a bigger dog creating 4 wounds about an inch long & 1/4 inch deep. Caring Hearts was able to clean & staple the wounds. Our dog healed quickly & Caring Hearts removed the staples quickly & painlessly. The clinic showed compassion & followed up after procedures to see how our dog was doing. They are very professional & compassionate. We are so glad we chose this clinic - Great people!

I’ve been taking my dog, Teddy, here for 12 years now. Teddy has seen all of the doctors at some point in his life, and they’re all wonderful, but our absolute favorite is Dr. Black. She is incredibly smart, attentive, never leaves you feeling rushed, is clear and concise in her explanations, and means business! Teddy’s a little old man and has a whole section on my phone dedicated to tracking all of his conditions. Every time something new pops up, Dr. Black has it figured out on the first try without having to run every panel under the sun. I can’t even imagine how much money her vast knowledge and educated guesses have saved us. The amount of relief and comfort I get just from walking into Caring Hearts says it all. Caring Hearts is amazing and truly cares about their patients! They go above and beyond to create a specialized treatment plan for each patient and take the time to answer and address your questions and/or concerns. Dr. Montes and the PT team (Austin and Mariah) worked wonders on my now 15 year old shih tzu who suffered from a cranial cruciate ligament tear. They progressed her from no use in her leg and a wheel chair, to being able to walk around on her own and living her life to the fullest. I highly recommend Caring Hearts for all of your veterinary needs. They are fantastic!

Caring Heart Animal Clinic has been the only vet we have seen since coming to the valley in 1991. They have always taken care of my dogs they like they were their own babies. I would never go any where else. My newest baby girl is only 6 months old and has had to have a shot every time she goes in to get her puppy shots out of the way. Dr. Schaffer is awesome. Shes very knowledgeable and informative. She’s helping my pup who got valley fever this summer. This clinic is always trying to help and accommodate, and make us feel like our dog’s health is important to them. I’ve had to go in for an emergency visit and they helped me out and squeezed me in. Also our dog does NOT like strangers and all staff has been very patient about it and try not to disturb him which we appreciate.

My Veterinarian of 24 years recently retired, so I was calling Caring Hearts for an urgent appointment. As a new patient I appreciated the caring voice of the receptionist Delaney, trying her best to get us an appointment asap. Diagnosed 2 years ago with feline CKD, I suspected that my Piper developed an infection and needed an antibiotic injection. Dr Montes was very friendly and professional. After reviewing her records, and aware of her condition, he didn't try to recommend unnecessary tests and explained what to expect in the future with the late stage progression of feline CKD. I will definitely be returning to Caring Hearts as my new veterinary clinic.

Caring hearts is a great vetrinary clinic in Gilbert. The staff are all friendly to humans and pets. They always seem to be a bit behind when we take our puppy in for his shots, we typically wait anout 15 minutes past the appointment time, but they pay close attention to the pet, and I'm sure thats the reason. And I need to remember most pets are not there for shots or check ups and serious illness or injury takes time to treat. Great place and reasonable prices. Ace a patient for life!

I'll be taking my cats here from now on! My previous vet retired and when I had an emergency with one of my cats on Thursday, they told me a vet wouldn't be on site until the following Wednesday! Caring Hearts got me in same day, rook care of my wounded kitty, and just generally gave me a "good vibe" about how they care for animals. Little pricey, but worth it for peace of mind

Our animals have used Caring Hearts a couple times, some very traumatic, and the staff is accommodating and compassionate. Recently we had a dog that had cancer. The news and options were provided very clearly and matter of factly, just as they needed to be. Our dog was put to sleep in a very caring way, and we were clearly informed of every step. Of course it was tough on us, but they did all they could to ease the situation. The following week we received a hand-written sympathy card from the doctor.

Dr. Black is the most kind veterinarian I have ever met she made sure to ask questions about my cats medical history before doing anything. This is the best animal hospital I have ever been to, and I am a VERY tough critic. I have a geriatric pup with very bad arthritis. After last last visit to a clinic where they were very less than gentle with him (it was bad) … he’s been guarding. He wouldn’t even let me pet him for over a month. It took time to build trust after 12 years with my dog. The doctor at Caring Hearts had a plan of action with his examination and my guy was out for the count. The blood count that is (enjoy the pun). I’m so grateful for the team there and ESPECIALLY the doctor. He didn’t give up on a tough exam and is one of the most calm and knowledgeable doctors I have ever encountered. Think Cesar Milan meets Dr. Oz. This guy is the real deal.

When I moved to the area 7 years ago, I needed a veterinarian and a neighbor referred me to Caring Hearts as it was just up the road. I’m very picky when it comes to my pets care but I had heard only wonderful things so I decided to give them a shot. Upon my first visit, I immediately felt at ease and knew I had found the right place to bring my babies. The doctors and staff are amazing and have always gone above and beyond what is necessary. Over the years they’ve treated my pets like their own. They have helped me say heartbreaking goodbyes and welcome new members into my family. I needed to get my cat seen for an emergency visit and called multiple places that were either full or not seeing new pet's. Caring Hearts squeezed my sweet girl in between scheduled visits. I had a pet emergency March 7th but was not able to get into any facility because my pet didnt show signs of being critical. I spent the entire evening trying to find a place to get him seen but to no avail. The morning of March 8th I text my daughter in law and asked where she had just taken her dog for surgery and she told me to try Caring Hearts. I called as soon as they opened and was given a time to bring my dog inn to be seen. They said it may take some time because I didnt have an appointment and they were going to work me in. I was there just a little under an hour and tests were done and the diagnosis was my dog was diabetic. The entire staff took care of everything and I couldn't express more the treatment I received.Thestaff was very sensitive about making my stay as swift as possible and i just couldnt tell them enough they had no reason to be concerned. I had a sick dog and they did the utmost to take care of getting him on the road to being well. This is the best facility and I've been to a few. I highly recommend Caring Hearts for your pets needs

My vet recently retired and I have been searching for someone for about a year. Let's just say I've been less than impressed by what's out in this area. That is, until a friend recommended caring hearts. My cat, Timmy and I met with Doctor Black last week. She took her time and asked a lot of questions. While on vacation the pet sitter called and told us our boy got out of their back yard. Since this office was close to his house I called to see if anyone picked him up. At the end of day staff member called to check in to see if we had any luck and if our boy made it back to the sitter. Even though we aren't a client going that extra step to call before the office closed meant so much. Yes Snowball was reunited with the pet sitter and is now home with us. Good Service but very pricey.I felt like the dr. made me feel she is helping me out with pricing (almost in a condescending patronizing way) but when your quoted a little over $1,000 and it becomes 1,700 with no warning or call before picking up your pet letting you know that much more or head up as to why. Its kind of scary on a budget and having to figure out how to pay.. There was several communication issues or calling me letting me know what was going on as I was told I would be. Questions I asked and responses reassured me of the process what is being done, but then the situation ended up being somewhat different then what was said at time.I had to go back twice to get what was supposed to be given to me at check out, medication, food, syringes..I didn't feel at ease after the second visit as I had hoped All in all paid over $2500..When initially I said I couldn't afford more then $1200..still recovering from the financial

Caring Hearts Animal Clinic is staffed with friendly, efficient and knowledgeable people. The front desk associates greet you when you come in and get you checked in quickly. Check out is easy and quick as well. Which is helpful when our pets are eager to leave. Tech staff is patient with the numerous tests and procedures necessary. The doctors are amazing. Patient with the pet-parents, kind, compassionate and gentle with the pets. After 20 years, four dogs and a cat, Caring Hearts has been there when we need them.

We have been going to Caring Hearts for approximately 13 years now. They have taken care of three of our furry family members, two of them from birth til they passed away. Their name truly says it all, they are so caring and compassionate especially on that day that all pet owners dread! From the front desk to the doctors themselves, we just love this place. We recently moved further away, but we will still be using them as our vet because vets like this are difficult to find. As far as price goes, they are also hard to beat. The cost of a surgery that needed to be done for one of our pups is why we switched to Caring Hearts in the first place based on a friends' recommendation. Little did we know, we would get amazing care for our babies as well as a decent price that we could afford. They are very upfront about costs for everything they do while you are there. I can't say enough good things! We love this place and you can tell from our pups getting all excited when we go there, that they do too!

Always CARING. They are always 30 days out for Annual exams and we'll checks so I always plan a head. I love that they have emergency appointments each morning just make sure you call at 730 because as I found out those same day sick appt. go fast. The service is the best I've seen. From the front receptionist to the technicians to the doctors this clinic is right on track.

Ghost (cat) had an inflammatory immune reaction that caused a sore on his mouth. They were able to figure out the problem and help him. Worth 5 stars. They do go a little too deep for my comfort when checking temperature though.

Dr. Schafer has cared for our animals -- and been a part of our family -- for about a decade. She is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. I trust her with the most important pieces of my heart -- my fur babies! (Give me a break, I don't have human kids! haha) Seriously though, she has helped me make some hard decisions, operated on one of my dogs who had two different types of cancer (and who has an incredible quality of life now), and cared for my dogs and cats like they were her own. She is an excellent vet and A plus human! The rest of the staff at caring hearts are also wonderful! They truly care about the important work they do and we are grateful to them as well!

I have been with the Caring Hearts Clinic for 13 years. They have seen the best and worst that my pets have been through and they have shown compassion for not just the animals, but me as their owner, and THAT makes them special. I just put my sweet 13-year-old doggie babies down within 5 months of one another and they handled it (and me) beautifully. They stood behind my quality of life decisions and prepared me for the experience I would have as I stayed with them to the bitter end. I received a thoughtful handwritten note from the doctors that cared for my pets for all those years - and I couldn't have been more touched. I had been bringing my girls to another vet but wasn’t happy with the practice. I was immediately happy with the whole process. The Dr was very welcoming and friendly as well as knowledgeable. We went to Caring Hearts shortly after our previous vet sold his practice to another Dr. a while ago. We sought another vet because our Dog had Seizures, and the new Vet upped the price from $75 to $110. When we got to Caring Harts they ran all the checks, and said we could pick up the medicine at any pharmacy. It was cheaper than the $75 we were previously paying. We have since taken all our pets there (6) over the last 10+ years. The staff does look out for you, and provide a great service with minimal costs. We've seen all the Dr's. there; all of them, and the staff are wonderful.

This vet office was great. I was worried about my cat and wanted to get him seen ASAP, but didn't think it warranted a costly trip to an emergency vet. I was so happy I was able to make a same-day appointment here. The office staff was friendly and helpful. The vet tech was great and really helped to calm down my nervous cat while she took his temperature. The vet came in very quickly after that which I was surprised because at previous vets it seems like you just are waiting and waiting forever. The whole price of this vet was very incredible. I was shocked (in a good way) to see my final bill. I will definitely becoming back to this vet for my cat and my dog.

They have some minor chronic health problems but because of the staff at Caring Hearts they are happy and are great members of our family. The quality of care was excellent and the costs were reasonable compared to the other veterinary we had been using for years. One thing that really stood out to us was the way our beloved dog's euthanasia was handled. We were led to a separate entrance on the side of the clinic that went past a little meditation garden. We were able to be alone with our dog for awhile before Dr. Montez came in and gently explained the entire procedure to us. He was very comforting. We so appreciated the fact that we did not have to walk through a waiting room during this emotionally difficult time. We were able to grieve in private. Thank you Caring Hearts!

Wonderful care by a great staff at Caring Hearts. I live in the area and stopped in to inquire about a lump on my Miniature Schnauzers head. I did not have him with me but I was able to make an appointment for the same day for a very reasonable price to check him out. When I returned my dog was promptly seen by Dr. Hayley Schafer who informed me that the growing lump was probably a hair follicle cysts that had become infected and formed an abscess. She suggested it be removed and was able to do the procedure the same day. When I returned later to pick up Kingsley I was again impressed by the professional courteous staff and the care my dog received. I must also say that the cost for his treatment was about 1/4th the cost that another vet had quoted me without even seeing my dog. While the other vet gave me a long list of things that would need to be done they also implied that it could be cancer. Caring hearts never attempted to use such scare tactics and proceeded to treat my pet with the utmost care. It is about 24 hours after the procedure and Kingsley is doing well, almost back to his normal self. I would rate them higher if there were more stars

I have taken all my animals to Caring Hearts for over 20 years but my last few visits I have been so disappointed. I have a cat that had some real issues and Dr. just told me it's cancer you have time. When I asked about other possiblities he harshly handed me a medical book. I use to love my Vet he was so caring, but Really? Luckily another Dr worked with me. Unfortunately nothing really worked. But at least I feel I tried. She is still hanging in there and doing a bit better, but have no idea why.Then I took one of my other cats in for an eye issue. Diagnosed with melonoma of the eye. This was verified by an animal eye specialist. They wanted $1600 for removal, so I checked back with Caring Hearts. Again quoted $1600. The same as a specialist. For a fairly easy surgery. I love my fur babies but I don't have that kind of money. I have not been back. And my fur baby is getting worse.

They are always able to get us in same day and most of the time within the next few hours if needed. One of the best things about this clinic is the realistic approach that is taken. They are usually one step ahead of the customer, example of certificate for shots, is oh we will have that for you when you check out. Very kind to the animals. Have used more than one of the doctors and they are never rushed. Explain any findings and next possible steps for you to decide on the care. We also had to work through a very sick dog that did eventually need to be put down. Never easy but this clinic made it comfortable. Special time with our dog. Special blanket for him in the room. Box of Tissues ready on the counter. All questions asked prior to the appointment do the details were talked about prior to the appointment. We still do use this clinic for our second dog.

I have an adopted senior dog that has congestive heart failure, he was recently in ICU at an emergency vet hospital for several days, which was extremely expensive. I can't say enough about this place!! I've been taking our pups there for several years. We normally see Dr. Schleappe and we love him! Several weeks ago our older dog started going downhill fast. Over the course of several days I called Caring Hearts several times. They were so helpful and compassionate as we realized our furbaby was preparing to pass. The morning came when he was in too much pain and my son made the courageous decision to end his best friend's suffering. My son chose to stay in the lobby but wanted me to hold Popcorn. The front office staff sat with him and his sister while they processed the loss. Dr. Schafer was loving and supportive and empathetic, telling me what was happening and reassuring me each step. A few days later we received a handwritten card in the mail from Dr. Schafer and the Caring Hearts staff offering their condolences. Above and beyond. Hands down the best Vet I’ve ever had for my pets. We have 2 cats and just got a new kitten today who will be going to Caring Hearts for a checkup this week. Our first cat has always been healthy and only needed the regular checkups and shots. Our second cat was a bit more challenging – he had an issue about 2 mths after we first got him where he wasn’t eating and getting lethargic. We took him in and Dr said he didn’t see anything thru the exam or x-ray blocking anything; he could do exploratory surgery to find out if there was anything there to the tune of about $700 but no guarantees he would find or be able to fix anything – now I love my cats a lot – but dang, $700?! He then suggested that he could give our cat an injection of subcutaneous fluids to help rehydrate him and get him thru whatever might be happening. We did that, even though I thought for sure we were going to end up doing the exploratory surgery after that, however, after watching him carefully for the next couple of days, he recovered completely! Next, a few years later, being a boy cat, he got in a good fight which left him with some claw punctures that began to get infected – once again, Caring Hearts to the rescue! Some pain med and some antibiotics and a bit of low level therapy laser and within a couple of days the only thing leftover was the two shaved spots that he had to grow back! The doctors and the staff are all very kind and helpful and truly care about animals and are practical as well. They help you to choose what is feasible for you to do for your pet and give you full disclosure on each diagnosis and plan of action. I am truly grateful to Caring Hearts for being close by and great and my ‘furever’ Vet!

I took my Boston Terrier to Caring Hearts for dental issues. I'm on disability and have a fixed income which didn't include an expensive procedure. Dr. Black lowered the cost (which I'm sure came out of her pocket) enough that I could afford to go forward. They were gentle and kind with me and my dog. A few weeks later, my dog had a rash appear on his back and again, Dr. Black was there to start treatment (which included a free small supply of needed medications). Sadly, the skin rash turned into a diagnosis of Cushing's disease. My sweet boy was in pain and Dr. Montes was there to help me make a heart breaking decision. He understood me and my dog's agony. He didn't "tell" me to end the pain but did give facts which helped point my way. When that dark day came, the entire staff was supportive and super gentle with us. They made a horrible situation bearable. They included my family and gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye. I can't thank them enough for all they've done for me. I have a chihuahua and a 9 week old Chiweenie that will be patients there. I highly recommend Caring Hearts!!!

After a horrible experience with a local VCA clinic I was desperate to find a Vet that I could trust to care for my little dachshund cookie who had been seriously injured by a local groomer. The hurt her neck and/or spine area somehow holding her down to keep her from wiggling around. Hayley Shaffer DVM was a blessing in desquise, she listened to my concerns, all of them, lol. She treated my dog as if she were her own. She has away of making you feel comfortable around her, no pressure to have unnecessary procedures or treatments. My dog arrived barely walking and in pain, but after a month of following her suggestions & proper medications cookie is back to her oldself. I couldn't be happier. We got a new puppy and were working in the area from out of state. We didn't have a vet and didn't have an appointment, on a Saturday! I googled nearby clinics that were open and they were close so we went in. I apologized but explained my situation and they were SUPER ACCOMMODATING!! They took our information and advised we may have to wait a bit. The wait wasn't long at all, maybe 15 minutes! When they called us back, the vet tech spent probably 10-15 minutes with us and then the vet came in and she spent another 10-15 minutes with us, making sure to thoroughly check out our new puppy, and she took the time to answer ALL of our questions. The charges were EXTREMELY reasonable, especially for a new patient, without an appointment. Although we are no longer in the area and don't plan to return, I would recommend this vet clinic OVER AND OVER again! Definitely one to consider using if you live here!!

We recently came back to this place when our oldest male dog Odie started losing his sight and weight. After a few tests and thankfully not a huge bill, they stated he was diabetic and went over all the things myself and 2 teens (that were with me at the moment)needed to do for him. We took him home that night and we could tell he just had had enough and after a very rough night and complete loss of sight, we had to take him in for end of life. We appreciate the help this place was for his care, we just chose another great place for end of life due to the costs. I know its a hard choice to make, just always feel like cost at a time like this should not be a factor, but with 14 other animals (5 dogs, 9 cats) at home still, it has to be. The surgery was fast and so successful my baby back to her normal self after only a few days. Aside from our annual checkups for my three dogs, Dr. Schleappe got one of my dogs in for Emergency surgery within the hour. I had my dog home and recupperating within 2.5 hours of his accident. And now it's like he never had the injury. I can't find the scar and my dog has perfect function of that leg. Amazing care. Dr. Schleappe has also saved me thousands of dollars by giving me simple, inexpensive, preventative care for my dog's recurring ear infections. My last vet gave nothing for prevention and each ear infection would cost $250 in tests and Rx. Now we just use a simple drying agent after he swims and he never has ear trouble. Clearly, I can't recommend Dr. Schleappe and Caring Hearts enough!

All I can say is that what you might perceive as being cold hearted or inattentive may be a bit skewed by your emotions. I think most of us can agree we are not at our best and our judgement can become clouded when under stress. With that being said, I have been in those shies when they are informing you that your pet is terminally ill and tjey can let you throw all kinds of money at the situation when the reality is still the same. They don't believe in that at this clinic.they try to offer everything they can with practicality. It's a no different than when a doctor of humans has to deliver bad news to family members, but we don't get angry at them when they lay down the truth. Bottom line is that this clinic is knowledgeable, affordable AND CUTTING EDGE OFFERRING PHYSICAL THEREAPY FOR PETS!the ONLY one in our area...and It's a affordable too. Love you guys!

I can’t even put into words how much I love Dr. Schleappe and his staff. We have been going to Caring Hearts Animal Clinic for over 17 years. Our pets are family!! Over the years we have enjoyed welcoming new family members and the sadness of saying good-bye to our loved ones. We have experienced rare diagnoses of masticatory muscle myositis and believe me this is rare!! Our Rottie was even a rarer case because he only had it on the one side of his head instead of both. Only two neurologist in the USA at the time. I was so grateful for Dr. Schleappe to help us with our boy! We even had a custom bike helmet made so he could continue to play and be a happy boy. We have dealt with our family having valley fever together!! The funny thing….. it took 4 blood tests for our family doctor to diagnose my husband with valley fever and it only took one test with Dr. Schleappe to say our yellow lab needed to be treated for valley fever. I always joked with our family doctor and told him I was going to take my husband to the vet to get tested!! Lol!! Over the years our dogs have a had different things and honestly some common, some not!! Dr. Schleappe and his staff have never made us feel uncomfortable. He simply explains the situation, the steps he recommends and we decide how we move forward. We have even moved and continue to drive 14miles so our family members receive excellent care. It breaks my heart having to share this but unfortunately one of my labs lost her battle to cancer. Our dear sweet Jessie’s paws have permanently left a mark on our hearts. Everyone she meets she greeted with unconditional love and shared her high spirit for life. Her energy level could never be resolved with one toy or one person! So much love in one soul was always so surprising to us! It breaks our heart to kiss her good-bye but she is forever in our hearts. She didn’t suffer and she wasn’t alone! My poor hubby couldn’t be there for the final injection good-bye and I couldn’t leave her. Dr. Schleappe stayed with me when my hubby could no longer stay in the room. It completely breaks my heart to see my sweet Jessie go but I’m so grateful to have such a loving and compassionate vet who didn’t leave my side. We are so broken about Jessie and know Christmas will not be the same without her. I just want to say thank you to Dr. Schleappe for the card and sending your condolences! This means the world to our family!

Dr. Montes is a great veterinarian! My dog, Ali, became ill when I was out of the country and I got the news that he likely had a liver tumor. I took him to Dr. Montes as soon as I returned, and he ordered an ultrasound scan which he very kindly allowed me to attend. I really appreciated him talking me through the scan and showing me exactly what was going on. It turned out my dog had sludge in his gallbladder and he was promptly started on the appropriate treatment. Two and a half years later, my 14 year old chihuahua is still going strong.
