My 5 year old pup Lily had the best vet visit of her life! The staff was wonderful and very accomodating for her anxiety so she felt safe and happy for the whole visit. I have never had her still excited to get pets and say hi to everyone even after an x-ray - We'll be happy to keep coming back!

I came here after decided I wasn’t satisfied with my previous vet and was BLOWN AWAY by the staffs professionalism and genuine concern for my cat and her comfort while in their care. They were were gentle with her and made sure she was as comfortable as she could be in a stressful situation. I would recommend heart and paw to anyone I know with a cat or dog!

This place is incredibly welcoming and clean! The veterinarian/vet techs/front desk agent were incredibly kind as I fumbled through questions and concerns I had with my newly acquired cat child. They made sure to address all the topics I asked about, including their payment plans and other routine maintenance needed for my cat. There was consistent communication when an appointment slot was not available and they emailed a summary visit which also included the questions I asked so that if I forgot an answer, I could refer back to their recommendations. I highly recommend this vet for excellent pricing and their professionalism!

I can’t rave enough about this place. It was my cat’s first vet experience and the staff was amazing and really took their time with her. They made my cat feel so comfortable and at ease during her wellness visit which she also received 2 vaccinations and nail trimming. The team was professional and really took my concerns into consideration. I was so pleased with the visit and will be coming back again for cat grooming!

Absolutely love coming here! I have two cats who have recently had to go to urgent care…Each time I’ve been greeted by the sweetest team who take amazing care of my animals. You can tell they genuinely care about the wellbeing of all pets they care for at this location especially. Was able to get in within an hour of each time I’ve called with no issues and minor wait times!

This was an AMAZING experience! The staff was awesome and did such a great job with my dog Nova. It was her first vet visit (and well overdue at that) and they were super gentle to her and explained everything well to me throughout the visit. My dog and I are new to Philly and we just went to Heart + Paw for the first time and had a great experience! Everyone was so friendly and you can tell they really love animals and what they do! We saw Dr. Greissworth, who is a relief vet, but she was still absolutely amazing! If their relief vet is that great, I’m sure their regular vets are too! Looking forward to meeting everyone at the hospital!

I would give this place ten stars if I could. Getting an appointment was a breeze and everyone here is fabulous. My cat has never had a better time at the vet and they treated him like a little celebrity. I also really enjoyed the doctor's wait and see approach. They weren't chomping at the bit to medicate him for his anxiety, but let me know that it might be necessary if his overgrooming doesn't improve with time and the environmental modifications they suggested. On top of that, the prices were very fair. Finally found my cat's forever vet.

Went to get my dog and cats nails trimmed. My cat was calm and did a great job but my poor dog was nervous and has black nails so unfortunately they nipped her a bit too close. Why 5 stars then? Bc they told me about it and were honest. If I had trimmed them myself w the length they were at I might have nipped her on accident too. I appreciate the full transparency since I wasn't it the room with her.

My dog is a little firecracker of energy, and sometimes grumpiness. He also has a collapsing trachea. This combo makes trying new groomers/leaving him alone absolutely terrifying for me/him/my husband… but he started to look ROUGH after his lifelong groomer moved away and I knew it was time. I am SO thankful I found Heart + Paw Callowhill. Caitlin did an amazing job taking care of the tumbleweed of fluff his fur had become; and my pup was so relaxed and calm at pickup, which is rare so clearly he enjoyed himself too. Highly recommend for anyone, but especially those whose pet has medical issues. Caitlyn was sensitive to his condition and made accommodations to ensure there were no collars/restraints applied to his throat area. Plus no better peace of mind than a vet right across the hall!!

Dr. Romanzi is heaven sent and the words I’m writing will never be able to explain my appreciation for both them and the amazing staff at Heart + Paw. My puppy, Duchess came in for a routine tech visit prior and there was a chance that she tested positive for heartworm disease. Dr. Romanzi called me and gently told me the news, and was so kind as I cried and comforted me. I could tell in their voice how they understood how hurt I was at the time and took quick action by asking whether I wanted an appointment with them or a tech visit to retest. Dr. Romanzi kindly offered me their last appointment, a day before Thanksgiving, and I can’t tell you all how rare and grateful I am for this. For the staff and my puppy’s veterinarian to be there for me, especially at this time, was needed. Duchess was quickly seen, and though I wasn’t there for the exam, I was emailed what happened during it and when I could be expecting results. Friday, Dr. Romanzi called me and told me the good news, as I cried once again, that my puppy is heartworm free and that a preventative would be at the front desk for me to give her. From the start, Dr. Romanzi expressed how they understood what I’m going through and even assured me if the news were bad, they had the plan to take care of my puppy. Just hearing their voice and having them celebrate the good news with me cemented how Duchess and myself are so lucky to have them as our vet. I highly recommend this hospital and for the care of your pets, Dr. Romanzi is the best choice.

edit 2022: I left this vet. The staff never remembered that my dog was a girl, always said “he” - not a big deal but it’s not hard to remember and made it feel impersonal. Whenever they called to say her prescription was ready for pick up, I would get there and the staff had no idea what I was talking about. I had to wait 20-30 min every single time while they filled it after I got there. My dog has bad anxiety and fear, but they never seemed to take that into consideration. I know it’s a lot to deal with, but I like knowing that she’s being taken care of. Switched to Art City and they took 2 appts to just meet her and have her get comfortable with the vet and staff before doing any blood work! When I called to get her chart transferred, heart and paw didn’t even care that we were leaving. Glad we switched. *I still believe that Dr. Cherry always did a good job and made sure that she answered all my questions, so it was more of a logistics problem.* The staff is always super friendly and helpful! They seem to really care about your pet and providing great service. It’s expensive, but I feel like they only recommend treatment that is necessary rather than adding things on to make money. Dr. Cherry takes the time to explain things and listen to your concerns. Overall Heart + Paw has been amazing with my dog!

I have a Husky/Labrador mix and this was his first time getting groomed. He has more of a medium length lab coat so I opted for the bath and blowout (no haircut). The staff was so welcoming! We arrived a bit early and they graciously allowed him to wait inside for the groomer. I mentioned how my dog was usually the anxious type and they took note of my concerns. Within an hour, I received a text that he was good to go! He looked very good when I picked him up. I’m very grateful for the staff for treating my dog well and will definitely return. I recommend Heart + Paw for any grooming needs!

We love taking our Elenabella to Heart + Paw Callowhill! As a dog lover and dog walker, I looked for a place that i felt had high standards for all of their services and how they treat the pups. Their daycare and vet services are wonderful and the facilities are super modern and clean. The best thing about their daycare is the indoor turf park and the well tempered dogs that our puppy plays with. I never worry that she is with a group of dogs that will make her uncomfortable and I know the staff enjoys watching our little pup when we’re at work. Our puppy is always sleepy and happy after a day at Heart + Paw 🐾☺️

Been in for only my kitten’s first appointment, and definitely going back to this location for more care in the future. Everyone was super nice. The kitten had an “accident” on the drive over and an employee helped me clean her up. The vet tech was super nice and helpful as well. She gave me info about pet insurance recommendations, and roundworm care. Everyone I’ve spoken with, including by phone communication, has been kind and helpful. I’ve recommended this place to my roommates who have pets as well.

We brought our puppy for a walk in visit close to the end of the day and everyone from the person checking us in, the vet nurse, and the vet were friendly as can be and happily squeezed us in! Everyone was so so helpful and informative, made us feel comfortable asking every question (even ones we kinda knew were silly but wanted to ask as new per owners), and did a thorough review of the records we had. They were so sweet with our puppy and reasonably priced. They explained everything in an approachable way and also wrote it typed it all up and sent us a detailed document afterwards so we didn’t need to try to remember everything! Awesome that they have online scheduling and walk in options. We are definitely going to keep taking our dog here!

I visited for the first time to get my cats vaccines and shots up to date and the staff was wonderful! I was 30 min early and they still took my information and sat me in the waiting area. All of the staff was super friendly and comforting. Both my cat and I had anxiety and they were really welcoming and informative about the vaccines and my cats well being. Would highly recommend if you’re in the area to visit, will be going back!

My first time here today with my puppy. Since the first time I called to ask questions last month and until now the person who answered the phone was very helpful and great to talk to. Answered all my questions. When I walked in today with my puppy the front person greeted us with politeness. Love the energy he had. Great customer service as soon as you walk in. Especially very helpful when my puppy did a mess in her cage. The nurse that help us today took the time to answer all my questions. Was great with my puppy, took her time to explain everything that was going to happen. Went into details of all the vaccine my puppy needed today. Once the doctor came in she was amazing. Also went into details about what we need for the puppy. When she checked my puppy she was so gentle and caring. I really appreciate the time they took to make sure everything was going well with my puppy. Even when you leave they still have the same pleasant, politeness as you walk in. For being my first time here. I would really recommend this place. The great customer service is awesome. I'll be going back in three weeks for another vaccine and grooming.

I recently visit this particular Heart + Paw for a grooming appointment for my long hair kitty, my kitty had matted fur that needed to be removed immediately. I was a bit skeptical because I know my kitty is a bit skittish, but the groomer Caitlin was extremely patient with her. She broke down my kitty grooming session into 2, Caitlin was vary caring for my kitty making her as comfortable as possible. Overall I was vary happy with my kitty cut and care under Caitlin supervision, i definitely recommend this establishment for your pet care. I will definitely will be back as long as Caitlin there. Heart + Paw gave my 13 yr old Yorkie the best haircut he has ever had! He looks like he is a puppy again. Amidst the COVID-19 lockdown, the vet was able to meet with my dog in person and call me for a virtual session as well as groom him. The doctor was really knowledgeable, kind and super helpful in identifying that my dog was experiencing joint pain. The groomer did an excellent job on my little old man. I have been a customer of Devon Vet my entire life but we are absolutely switching to Heart + Paw for the remainder of my dog's life.

Dr. Karwacki and Caroline were so good with my dog! I just moved to Philly and needed a vet to take care of getting requirements needed to fly. They have a kind, welcoming, and friendly staff that took great care of my dog. They were flexible with getting me an appointment, later rescheduling my appointment, and making sure I got everything I needed taken care of! Recently took my dog for his first visit at Heart + Paw and I was seriously blown away. The staff is so wonderful and friendly and I could tell they cared about me and my dog from my first phone call with them. Dr. Karwacki is super pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful, and supportive. She worked with me to determine the best course of treatment for my dog and made it clear that she would help no matter what. My dog will be going for some intensive treatment but staff assured me they will update me throughout his hospital stay and send me pictures so I know he's okay, which gives me peace of mind. Staff is also accessible throughout the day via text and they are super responsive. At the end of our visit, they gave my dog a goody bag with treats and toys in it, which I thought was adorable. REALLY impressed with them, my dog will continue to be treated here in the future and I would definitely recommend it to others.

I was so worried to drop off my new puppy for his first vet appointment but once I handed him over I knew he was in great care. The team members were all very nice, supportive, respectful and professional starting from the receptionists, the technician ( Malik ), to the vet ( Dr. Stacy ). They were all nice and gentle with my cat, and most importantly they examined her in front of my eyes and did not request unnecessary tests immediately until they feel she needs them. They provided her with excellent care and were very transparent with me regarding the treatment costs and priorities. I can not thank them enough for their service and most importantly (their respect).

I went to take my cat for a new pet check up. She got an ultrasound and a rabies shot as well, which I was a little nervous about because of my cat’s temperament. They loved her and treated her very nicely. They offered me to watch the ultrasound from outside a window because of covid-19, which I found really nice. Most places would’ve just gave the results and kept it pushing. All documentation is paperless and it was quick and easy. We were in and out in about 30-45 minutes. They even gave us a reusable bag with goodies for my cat and I inside. Love this place, will be coming again. I highly recommend if you are looking into Heart + Paw.

I LOVE HEART AND PAW! I just moved into a building right near the office so I switched my dogs vet. They’ve done SUCH an amazing job with him! the prevention plan he is on is not only affordable, but it ensures that he gets everything he needs for the year and more! I also used Heart and Paw for grooming and they did a fantastic job. He looks and smells fantastic and the price was comparable to other places that did not do as great a job. All of the techs, vets and groomers I’ve spoken with have been more than friendly and helpful. I love this vet/groomer and will 100% be staying with them. They also have a daycare service that I’m yet to use because I’m working from home right now, but once I go back to work I plan to use this service as well. When I walk by I see the dogs playing and enjoying themselves and it looks like a super fun and healthy environment for them! Couldn’t recommend more!

Very nice staff they answered any questions I had, I found it greatly helpful especially with having my first puppy the reason why I left a star is only because I was told I was being sent with information on taking care of a puppy but after getting home and opening my folder I found that the information was not left with me. I would totally recommend them just kinda upset they didn’t give me the paperwork that they said they were gonna give me, also there was no paperwork for the visit stating what they did or a price breakdown of what i was charged.

Today was my first experience at Heart + Paw for both the vet and grooming services. It could not have gone smoother! Everyone was professional and bubbly and friendly. The wait time to pick up my dog was so much faster than PetSmart's. (I used to go to the one on Chestnut Street before it closed in April). Alexis the groomer was amazing with my dog, who hates being groomed but somehow likes her. I'll definitely be going here religiously going forward. We love heart + paw and they love our boy, Doc! The staff is always so welcoming and the doctors text to check in after appointments. He was just neutered and it went beautifully. It really goes a long way to have them always touch base and make sure he’s doing okay; they really care about their animals❤️

Given the pandemic they were great at taking care to have as little contact as necessary and They were even willing to show me how to apply my cats eye medicine from the other side of the glass door. Getting a new puppy can be a lot in the beginning and one of the best things I did was go to Heart and Paw for his care. At each appointment they walked me through what he needed and when he needed it. Their communication was great even with it being over the phone all due to Covid and be not being able to go inside. My puppy never hesitated to go inside with them either which is great to see. They do not pressure you to do anything and discuss options outside of their practice. I am excited that they offer grooming and day care because I feel very comfortable with them!

I like that there are play coordinators in the play area at all times and a vet is always in the office. They have yearly prevention plans and lots of in office services. This is my second interaction with Heart + Paw Callowhill. The first time I went there was supposed to be for an emergency vet appointment. They were able to get me in right away but my baby unfortunately didn't make it that long. Instead they handle his cremation. They were so respectful and kind. I felt that they truly cares for me and lost for baby. This time I was taking in one of my other for babies that's been having some health and behavior issues. Again, I felt like all the staff was so caring both for me and my baby -- even when I couldn't be in the exam room and had to chat with the vet by phone! The exam was thorough and I was given helpful advice for the behavior issues while I wait for test results and next steps with the health issues. I appreciate that I had the option to get the Prevention Plan and bundle my annual very costs with some savings and a payment plan. This might not be the cheapest vet around but the cost had been with it. Especially compared to some other places with similar costs and far less individual care.

When we called we were greeted warmly by Rachel and I explained the situation and that I was hoping to get in touch with Dr. Vaitkus as soon as possible. She put a line out to him and he contacted me within minutes. The way they made my Rita a priority was unmatched. They were also able to schedule me an appointment seamlessly where my husband, myself, and Rita could talk and come up with a treatment plan for a recent diagnosis of life threatening disease. Dr. Vaitkus really listens, not only to the pet parents but he also is attentive to the pets themselves, listening, watching and reading there’s signs. His gentle and kind approach to providing honest answers to questions and clarity to even those most grave situations is a skill that not every Veterinarian has. The atmosphere at Heart + Paw goes hand in hand with this exceptional level of care.

My boy, Duncan went to Doggy Daycare yesterday and he loved it! They had me stay a bit since it was his first day, for evaluation. They sent a pic midway to show how much in he was having. Pick up was easy and quick which was great. All of the people were super nice and treated Duncan as if he was theirs. My boy can be a little shy at first and they took the time to gain his trust. I wish I could append the pic of his Happy Face! The only negative is the parking situation (the reason it got 4 stars instead of 5). It would be nice if out front and/or the side they had a leading zone area to throw your car when your car on drop-off and pick-up. Assuming they will look into this in time.
